The room failed to provide a comfortable stay. The room was outdated and did not offer the necessary comfort for a restful visit.

The A/C turns off when you leave the room, unable to maintain a consistent temperature.

The bathtub consistently clogged during showers. This made the shower experience unpleasant and unhygienic.

While the room itself may have been clean, unsuitable for a paying guest.

location is in the heart of tumon. the view of tumon bay's major hotels on coast beautiful at night...friends who live in guam tokd me do not use tap water unless you know it's filtered except for showering or brishing teeth. room didn't have drinking water so we had to purchase bottled water for drinking. seems 2 elevators were constantly under repair because they alternated using 1 or the other while other was marked inoperable. parking easy on property but it didn't seem like there were many guests staying there. my wife and i walked to immediate area below property but street lighting non-existent until we were in main street below. too many unlit areas where criminal element could lay in wait targeting unsuspecting tourists or visitors transiting by foot...lobby area very dark but front desk always has a rep

Tumon Bay Capital - My Opinion!

Staff was helpful and friendly however facility is old, dirty and in tough shape. Ocean view in each room with a small balcony. Bathroom is scary. Indoor parking was a plus but elevators are hit and miss. Location is great for walk for dining and site seeing. No micro in room that would have been a plus. Frig was old and the freezer section had no door on it so trying to freeze anything was a waste of time. No kitchen, no room service so eating out was mandatory and the area is overwhelmed with good restaurants' choices but expensive. Many Japanese vacationers so that is why the prices are high in my opinion...food is great but so expensive - be prepared for that. The facility has a nice looking bar/restaurant but has been closed for years...the staff told me that it is only used when Korean students are there and they do their own cooking. Looks like they are staying open hoping for a good buyer who will rehab the whole hotel because of the competition in the area...the location is special. Overall we were able to work around the defects but the was a one in done for us despite the lower price. Our stay was 1 week.

Has such an amazing aura to the property. Although its glory days have passed, it remains to stand the test of time. I remember this hotel when I used to come home from the mainland throughout my teenage years. Maybe that’s why I love the property so much. Although it doesn’t have the huge corporate financial backing as its competitors, it’s still manages to keep its charm. Norwin was our agent who checked us in and he was AWESOME! Super friendly, accommodating and helpful, a true asset to the company. The location of the hotel was a HUGE plus for us as well! Right next to the malls and dining! We barely had to use our car rental. I definitely plan on coming back!

Need to renovate the place. Kind a hard to find the location best if they put the signage on the entrance corner for easy access. The place is all the way in so hard to find. The staff are very accommodating. Basically I like the place is just that need to upgrade the facility. Thank you and we enjoy our stay in Guam.

My biggest issue was the shower. Turn it on and in 10-15 seconds the water would be about my ankle deep. It took almost the same amount of time in minutes to drain and liquid soap in dispenser.

Worst place ever to stay . The room is dirty with the wall peeled of paint. The bathroom is dirty and stinky.all the wall are covered with spider nets . The wifi was terrible . Hotel is quiet, clean and friendly staff. The beds are firm, no restaurant, free parking, and walking distance to shops and beach. The hotel room occurred damage from most recent typhoon, but overall decent. My favorite part is sitting on the balcony to watch the sunrise or sunset or take in the view of Tumon Bay.

The cable is not working for the television. Staff claimed the tv is smart, no it is not smart. They need to inspect the room, I told the staff I found a large knife handle broken off inside a shelf.
The sink did not drain well.

Guam Gov would not allow me to stay there, due to change in Covid 19 quarantine restrictions. Hotel called me a \"no show\" and kept my money, I had to pay for accommodations at a Gov approved facility..
I'm not happy, nor would anyone be.

The general location, which is fairly close to the center of town if you don’t mind the steep climb, is what this hotel has going for it. Everything else is old and stuck in the 70’s or early 80’s when it was likely built. It looks like the owners have put extremely little or no money into the property since it was built. I would try to say something else nice, but the front desk and the rest of the staff lacks any kind of friendliness. Come on, this is a resort area! Lighten up! The cockroach in my room was the kicker.

It is all about expectations. I got this place for significantly less than surrounding hotels. Most of the others are big, full-service, modern resorts, and this is a simple older hotel which is what I was looking for.
Biggest things for me are clean and comfortable bed. There were minor signs of mold in the shower (nothing serious) but otherwise was clean. Was a comfortable bed (most hotels have hard beds which I do not like).
It is a bit older, and maintenance could be better. I made two minor maintenance adjustments in my first hour there. 1) flush level nut had fallen off in the toilet tank and 2) one of the front feet on the fridge was 1/2\" short, making it rock every time I opened the door. These were simple fixes I did not mind making, but indicate a lack of facility maintenance.
Overall, I would stay here again because of the location and cheap price!

On checking in I had to convince them that I had a reservation made online. Couln't go barefoot in the room as it had this sticky and slimy feeling under your feet. There's a pot to heat water but no coffee, sugar, and cream. Maid only picked up trash but did not clean room.

This was by far the least expensive place to stay that I could find. So of course its older and not fancy. You pay more for that. The view is nice, though back from the ocean a block, but up on the hill so you have a good view of the hotels and ocean. The room has a small fridge and a blow dryer, which is nice. The Internet is fine for texting, emails, web surfing, and downloading movies , but not for calling someone on Skype or Line. A great low cost option if you are on a budget.

It was a nice quiet area, away from the busy street.
Located next to a waterpark, walking distance. The facility is really old and could use some major upgrades and maintenance. I wanted to take the stairs to our room but the staff told me to take the elevator because the stairs may be closed off. This was insane because its a fire hazard, the stairs should always be accessible in case of emergency. When I exited the elevator, there were several bags of trash that were left in the hallway, disgusting. There were also old matresses and drawers. Perhaps maintenance staff were on lunch break that they didn't dispose it. The beds seemed old and it is stiff, might as well sleep on the floor. The staff could improve in customer service as well. The hotel in general was ok, I wouldn't go back though.

The room needs to be updated. The biggest disappointing was, they don't serve breakfast in the morning. No water, tea or coffee on the hallway for the customers. You have to walk to the restaurants nearby, to get some coffee in the morning. This place it's very inconvenient first thing in the morning.
Good thing about this Hotel is near the Beach.
Most front desks staff are very nice to the customers.

The one problem with the Hotel is,that there are 64 rooms or there abouts.Now as of these rooms,they have a dividing door with the room next door.We had in the next room people who talked loud all night and left their Television on just about the whole night.So the noise in our room was so loud,which left to almost no sleep.The plus side was that when i asked the Hotel staff if we could transfer to another room with no people next to us,it was not a problem for them.

This place, was the cheapest available, so my bad. I guess you get what you pay for. Pillows were like bricks, bed was marginally better. TV channels, all bad. No restaurant, no communication, no coffee, no ice, we even had the power run out and in Guam makes for a bad nites sleep. It short I would rather drink leper spit than stay at that place ever again. I stayed 7 nites and had words from hotel staff, Credit card please.

If your looking for budget accommodation, maybe. I have since moved to another Hotel around $20.00 more per nite. SO worth it. Guam is an awesome place to visit but dodge this place. it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

Quiet hotel without the usual tourist noise but close enough to shops and beaches.
If you don't mind walking up hill but able to kick back without the congestion, this is the place.
For the price they have the basics but don't expect anything more. Friendly staff too.

BIGGEST COCKROACH!! (No Joke!)

We stayed on the 7th floor, and on our first night there, we were given a warm welcome to the island by the biggest cockroach I've ever seen! It was at least 3 inches long... just chillin on the wall above the lamp stand. I called the front desk and asked them to come and kill it. The lady said she's the only person working at night, so she just offered to give me Raid (we have a toddler and a preschooler -- not a good idea to spraying Raid in a small room with them). Maintaining my composure, I asked her whether seeing a humongous roach in this hotel room was normal, to which she said ever-so-casually \"sometimes\"... which was followed by \"I'll let the manager know in the morning\". I asked to be moved to a different room, which we did... only to arrive every evening with a fear of what may lurk inside. While the island of Guam is absolutely beautiful, our stay at Tumon Bay Capital Hotel was a disaster! Period. If you don't believe me, feel free to find out yourself... at your own risk. Bon voyage!

Location, location, location!

Location is the best thing about this hotel. If you’re looking for a practical place to sleep at night, then this is the place for you! It’s located just up the hill on the main strip in Tumon. Good ocean views if you’re on the upper floors. It’s not the cheapest, it’s not the nicest, but it is the cheapest for its location and serves its purpose. The staff is very friendly and always helpful.

Pictures was deceiving, showing 2 beds with cover and a type of building if you view from outside.Booking in a internet is a bit more expensive,to think you stayed in a dirty,smokey,old and lousy hotel. It would have been forgivable if its a little cheaper but its not, among all the hotels there this is the odest, so i hope the management shall improve cleanliness, appearance, staff courtesy and other amenities.All floors are filled of bad cigarette smoke.Its very unhealthy for the children.. Thats I see the reason why Booking.com debited our credit card so fast. A thing that I couldnt back out.and cancelled my reservations.Please be fair with your hotel paying guest... Please Clean Walls, Change old hangers, Paste worn out wall papers, fixed toilet door locks.Pull out old plastic in your beds. and buy cotton bed sheets.Tell your staff to at least greet hotel guest, good morning or good day, There are lot of adhesive tapes marks all over.Even at the front desk.I will never ever stay again in that hotel. They need not to spend big money for improvement, just a rag and a soap to clean walls., pull out broken locks.Please have chairs upholstery change on hotel room chairs, if not just cover it.I am not too clean, but just enough things for a paying hotel guests.If not of the view, and not being paid and collected, no choice at all, guest would have a choice to check out and leave and find another hotel better.than Tumon Bay Capital.Hope the hotel improve with this comment.Thanks

Location is good, but the hotel itself is old.

The past review about finding hair on the bed was correct-I found lots of hair on the bed after taking out the covers. There's a smell in the room and the air conditioner is super old, so the air coming out also smells. We asked to be moved because of that smell and the next door room is better and the front desk person was nice about that, but the water in the bath tub stays, so you have to wait a few minutes before the next person can take his/her shower. The main reason why I would still recommend is because of location. It is actually in a very central location and that is had to find. You wouldn't want to stay here long, only like a weekend.

Durung our stay there was construction going on and we could not sleep. Plus this hotel does not allow visitors therefore we could not conduct business. Has to leave 2 nights earlier to move to a better hotel! Worse, soaps and shampoos were not provided! It was a terrible experience.

Bed is so old. You can feel the bed coil. Bath tub broken. Bring your own hair dryer they charge $5 rental. Room is so old needs good cleaning and renovation. They did not makeup my room. I requested for toilet tissue and i told to come down to the front desk and pick it up since there is no house keeping at night. Aircon vent missing, fridge not clean

Great location, very good view, terrain is good for an exercise walk, close to nice restaurants etc. The rooms need a little better bed as they are too soft and makes it hard for the back. Also need good maintenance to make sure no leaks (our room had a leaking toilet) But staff are very good and made sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

This Hotel does not honor early checkout! I booked for 4 nights but had to leave immediately due to military assignment only staying 1 night and was told by the front desk employee that I had to contact Hotels.Com for my refund. I just received a email from Hitels.Com stating that I will not be getting my refund. My plans are to inform my command that this particular Hotel should be black listed!!!

Good points: big rooms, great view of guam, central location close to shops, restaurants, malls and pale san vitores road which is the major commercial/tourist area in guam, wi fi connection is good, good parking area, budget friendly

Bad points: poor customer service, old hotel, uphill walk to the hotel, lobby has no aircon

Close to everything, But less than youd expect

A short walk away from the Tumon strip. Considering its location, I expected a cleaner and updated hotel. For the price it wasnt bad but its arguably my least favorite hotel ive ever stayed in. Room was big although technically dirty. If you really dont care what your hotel looks like and youd just be using it to sleep, this place is acceptable. If youre expecting room service and down comforters, this isnt that hotel.

Great value for price

Room is OK by price. Quite at room. But towel had stain. It was washed but keep using stained towel. Shower was a little low pressure. Toilet is not flush out at once.
