This is a first-class hotel by any standard. The property has an old world feel with very modern features. Even though it's in the heart of Paris - the hotel is offset from the street with a large lawn and backyard terrace. You feel like you're staying in a grand chateau in the country.

This is the most magical hotel tucked away in the heart of Paris!! It’s like a country side chateau in the city. The grounds are beautiful, the Outside dining was fantastic, the room was cozy with fab Guerlain products, the staff was top notch. I can’t say enough!!! GORGEOUS hotel! It is so pretty that funnily enough, even some French policemen who where driving by stopped to look and comment on it. The food at the bar was just ok, the drinks delicious. It’s a bit far though, so stay here if you’re looking for a slow paced and relaxed visit to Paris.

This château, its staff, interior design, location, restaurant, ambiance and spa are outstanding! One of the best I have ever stayed in and I travel a lot!

I celebrated my 40th birthday here and it was so memorable and special! A personalised note from the general manager, thoughtful complimentary gestures from management and the most outstanding patisserie on site who baked the most delicate and beautiful birthday cake for me - also prepared melt in your mouth pain au chocolat in a unique shape for breakfast. Everything was just perfect!

All communications pre arrival were promptly answered and their concierge Pascal is friendly, attentive and excellent in all his communications. Every staff member in the restaurant again is smiling, attentive and quick.

The stunning rooms and facilities are extremely clean and interior design every girl’s dream! Very beautiful and well thought out. It may have been refurbished but I didn’t see a single mark or scratch on walls/furniture, no dust/spider webs and every day our room looked impeccable. Towels were thick and beautifully branded - everything was just pure luxury!

I loved every detail and Saint James Paris truly made my birthday unforgettable! A château in the middle of Paris walking distance to main sights.

Restaurant is out of this world and the chef down to earth and comes to your table!

Thank you so much to the every single staff for being so great! You truly make this place so unique! Merci beacoup!

The staff is very professional, courteous and helpful. Stayed there for a week to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary and upon them finding out they immediately upgraded my room and left a bottle of champagne in our room. The room was immaculate, the library bar beautiful and the entire property just outstanding in every way. Highly recommend it.

I normally don’t take the time to write reviews like this, but for the St. James I will gladly take a few mins to tell you what’s good. The St. James is the only place to stay in Paris. Have you seen Downton Abbey? I felt like lord Grantham every time I walked in the door. The service is impeccable, the rooms are lit, the bartenders are a riot. I will stay here every time I come to Paris. Whomst is the Ritz? Never heard of her.

The Saint James felt like home. Hotels are fine, but this felt like we were staying on a small French estate. The decor was beautiful and the history of the property has been preserved so it can be experienced by all! The staff was amazing and the hotel itself was quiet, clean, and very comfortable. The Saint James has spoiled me and I’m. It sure other hotels can live up to this very high bar they’ve set in Paris. 5- star experience.

Being Americans in Paris the staff here was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Whether we needed transit assistance, recommendations, or something as simple as a bourbon on the rocks Everyone here was friendly, accommodating and treated us like royalty. Despite our horrible French they would welcome us each morning and evening in French and then switch to English or patiently listen to us to attempt French and work with what we stumbled over. I really appreciated that, my husband appreciated they spoke to him in English hehehe. I would highly recommend staying here. Where better to stay in Paris than a beautiful Chateaux! Within walking distance from the Arch and many other attractions if you like to walk. If you don't enjoy getting steps in you are moments away from the trains that take you everywhere. Loved this my experience. Best hotel I've ever stayed in, across the world. Will be back.

We were upgraded to the junior suite and loved it. Stayed for three days. Staff was great. I felt like they knew me. It feels like you are staying in a villa, not a chain hotel. I was worried about the hotel seeming far from major tourist sites but that was a non issue. We would definitely stay again

Comfortable hotel in a good location in Paris

The drive up to the hotel is impressive, particularly at night. We arrived about 10pm. We were helped with our bags, but there was no one at reception to start with. After a few minutes someone arrived and we were checked in. This was fairly efficient. Photocopy of one passport, and swipe of a credit card. We were shown to our room which was four hundred and something. It was covered in leopard print, floor to ceiling, not to our taste, but the bathroom with slipper bath was lovely. We asked to change for the second night, which was done for when we came back later in the day. This time were were in the lower ground 106 which is in a vaulted room with it's own hallway and adjoining bathroom. The bathroom was not as nice, with a more basic bath and shower over, but we preferred the decor and the room was quieter, with doors opening onto some greenery and the fountain of the front of the hotel beyond. It was disappointing that breakfast was not included, in my opinion it should be included in all the room rates when you are paying £350+ per night. We had a drink at the bar outside which was lovely, and accompanied by delicious salted almonds, cashews and pitted olives. It did take nearly half an hour to get our drinks though, expected slightly better when paying EUR 25 per cocktail. We did have a welcome note and bottle of wine in our room, to wish us a Happy Anniversary, which was a nice touch.

best hotel \"chateau\" in Paris

this property continues to be one of my favourite hotels in Paris. The staff are very friendly (head concierge could be more friendly - his staff are great examples of this). Restaurant (bar, dining and terrace areas) are exceptional and provide you with outstanding settings for business meetings and/or enjoying yourself. the Relais and Chateaux property is very accommodating with your requests. The décor is beautiful and each room are uniquely decorated. A hidden treasure in the hotel is their authentic steam room!

From the moment we stepped into the Saint James, we were treated like royalty - while WE are not royalty, some have stayed in this fabulous hotel. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were upgraded to a junior suite and greeted with a bottle of champagne and a hand written anniversary card from the property manager. The room was beautiful, the staff was warm, hospitable, and helpful, the food was divine, and the location was perfect for a romantic trip to Paris. We cannot wait to be able to go back.

Our suite was spacious, well furnished, and even had 2 bathrooms. The concierge was knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations and reservationsThe quality of the breakfast buffet was fine but adding a chef cooking omeletsand such would be a plus. The hotel location was a bit out of the way and walking the neighborhood was not was not so interesting.

Had a suite. Nowhere to put clothes away (one drawer each and six hangers) not even a full length mirror. Housekeeping came in to clean bathroom and make bed. Never removed dirty cups or straightened up room. Didn’t bother supplying replacement robes either. Pillows like rocks - told that nobody else had ever complained. Housekeeping take all loose change left out. Complained to front desk - they didn’t think that was a problem and basically said it was our fault as “of course the housekeeper would think it was for her”. Unbelievable attitude- should not be Relais Chateau.

The Hotel staff were excellent. Location allows you to be close enough to walk to all attraction but be on the edge of West Paris away from Hustle and bustle of Tourist areas and feel local but still close. Rooms large and very clean. Lobby and dinning room and main bar unreal. I would ONLY stay here on my next visit to Paris.

Love it; best, luxurious antidote to the stuffy

I had a fantastic stay at the St. James. Coming from an apartment just across from the Louvre, with all of historical Paris's convenience and beauty, I was not sure about being out in the 16th (think more Upper East Side/Kensington than downtown). However, I was enchanted. The chateau is beautiful and private, hiding the most glorious & unexpected interior. Each of the rooms is individually decorated, and given incredible thought, down to the tiniest detail (think light switches). The subtle sense of humor and whimsy to be found everywhere kept me in a delightful mood. Yet do not forget that this is a hotel of the first rank; with concierges of the highest quality, a restaurant with a Michelin star, a multi-award winning chef, impeccable service, spa, a gym and cardio room (with chandeliers), and even a hammam. I adore this hotel, and if you are looking for an experience to be had nowhere else, this is the hotel for you, too.

Most exquisite boutique hotel

When you enter the front gates, you know it's going to be perfect. We chose to stay here only for our last evening in Paris and it is easily the best hotel we've ever stayed in.
The unbelievable modern, yet classic staircase is unmatched. Also the Library Bar is beautiful and elegant...everything has so much class. Boudoir Room was average size, but exquisitely decorated with some welcome treats for us. Bathroom is larger with plenty of products, robes, shoes. We also used the house bicycles to tour Paris while our room was waiting. We did not get a chance to dine at the restaurant, but the setting was beautiful. The area is very quiet at night.

Overall, I'm sure the staff gets very high-profile clients, but we were treated just the same. Well done. Any future trip to Paris will not be complete without a visit here.

I worked with the concierge staff to plan my stay in Paris. The staff could not have been more cooperative. Upon arrival, I was greeted and made comfortable while awaiting my room. The room was exquisite with comfortable furnishings and privacy. The buffet breakfast was an excellent combination of service and self help. I felt as if the staff made us their number one concern until I saw that everyone was being given the same level of attention.

This is a beautiful 1890s chateau built near a large park, which I gather from researching, was a hot air balloon field, thus the numerous themed wallpapers and light fixtures found throughout the hotel. It is a boutique hotel, to be sure, the rooms are spacious. We were provided with an upgrade upon arrival which was a super pleasant surprise, and got one of the prestige suites. This room was on the top floor (510) and was made up of a solarium sitting room with a skylight ceiling, a large sitting area with grand piano (?), a WC, bedroom and shower/double sink/bath room.

Wifi free and excellent throughout the room and hotel. Services at the desk, concierge, front door, cleaners exceptional. Chocolate left each night and a bottle of complimentary water each morning. Air conditioning and windows that open, depending on your needs. The linens were very nice, with large fluffy towels. The bath amenities were nice (although I didn't care for the shampoo/conditioner and their bottles which didn't pour product easily). The gym was small, but offers up enough equipment to get you by. Easy walking to the Port Dauphine metro, and being in the 16e, near to upscale shopping in the champs elysees area. Didn't partake of the spa, nor of the dining room (1star Michelin chef), but did eat at the library bar a couple times.
