Overall the stay was nice. The hotel had what we needed and as it was advertised. It was more than enough space for 6 to stay comfortably. The location made it very convenient for shopping and eating.

My only issue is the beds do need to be replaced. After checking in we had to get help from the front desk because one of the bed frames were broken. Also, it was kind of hard to sleep on even after the temporary fix with the center of the bed sinking down because of the broken frame. For that I would’ve rated this a 2 or 3 star stay.

The one thing we can appreciate is the staff, especially Anna, Sky and Kate. They were quick to help us when we had questions or needed recommendations. We would definitely consider staying here again. Hopefully the bed issue will be fixed by then.

The room was very different from photos listed. We were placed in an annex building about 100m away from the main building.
Location was fairly convenient with at least 4 convenience store within 3 mins walking distance but it’s a little noisy as we were surrounded by bars and restaurants that play music till late. Can hear people laughing and talking till 1-2am.
Service from the hotel is adequate and meets all basic needs.

Overall cannot beat the location. The annex building is right around the corner from the aubway station and a major bus hub. You're also walking distance from Myeongdong and Insadong. The biggest plus was free bottle water and new towels everyday. It can get loud at night but if you are walking around all day, you should sleep right through it all.

Decent suite hotel in a great neighborhood

I stayed here two years ago and it was much better then. Now this hotel is starting to feel a little aged, and I didn’t like the layout of our suite as much as last time. And the shower door did not keep water from spilling out into the rest of the bathroom. So the bathroom floor kept flooding anytime we used the shower. It was unpleasant.
But the location is fantastic. It’s right in the middle of Jongno and there are a lot of great restaurants and bars as soon as you walk out the door. Plus it’s close to several different subway lines.
The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The hotel also let us keep our luggage there for a few days while we traveled to Jeju. The service and employees were great, and there aren’t that many hotels in Seoul with true suites (multiple, separate bedrooms), which is why I chose this hotel. We didn’t want to sleep in a row of beds together; we wanted separate bedrooms with a living room. But I don’t think we’ll be back. It would be better to just book separate rooms at a newer hotel.

Our hotel room had mold on the ceiling, stains in the carpet and pieces of wallpaper missing. The room faced the strip of restaurants/bar and loud music started at 8pm and went on until after 2am every night. We had a 2 bedroom suite, one room faced the nightly music, the other room was next to the elevator and the sound of it was loud 24/7. The staff was amazing and quick to respond. There are no phones in the room rather you must use 1 of 4 apps to communicate with the staff. I probably would not choose to stay in this specific location again due to the noise factor.

We loved our 7 night stay. The front desk staff made us feel so welcome from the very beginning. They helped us book a taxi and gave us recommendations on places to visit.
Our apartment was given fresh towels and bottled water every day and a full clean was completed on day 4. The cleaning staff were also so friendly and helpful.
The apartment was in a really great location with shops and food so close. There was music until late at night from nearby places but we didn’t hear it from our bedrooms and it added to the overall experience. Our kids loved people watching out the windows!
We were also loaned umbrellas during our stay as it rained which was so nice!
There was a washing machine and dryer just outside our door which was so convenient.
Our time at this hotel was wonderful and we would definitely stay here again - thank you SO much!

The moment we checked in, Kate (receptionist) was warm and friendly. It was a great location for family of 4 needs. I did not realized that there’s room that don’t have a view, so I requested for a room change with a view and Kate was able to accommodate my request. I would give 5/5 rating if it weren’t for the shower area leaving puddle of water in the bathroom area. This is not an easy fix, it’ll need renovation. Other than that it’s a great location, walking distance to Myeongdong, subway stations and restaurants.

This was a great place if you have 4 or more people traveling together. It is spacious and has everything you need. However, you are in the heart of a busy area and the music is pumping all day and all night long. The good part is that you cannot hear it in the room where you sleep but can hear it in the living area all day long. It is easy to get wherever you need to go to and has good food nearby. Overall it was a great stay. Also the AC works so well which is a huge plus in the summer heat!

Front desk attendants were so kind and spoke English very well. The location was very convenient although a bit complicated to find. Our unit was perfect with two fill baths and two bedrooms. It’s small for what it is but worth it due to the location. The unit doesn’t have windows and the main AC unit was making a noise but we just closed our bedroom doors at night. There’s a washer in the unit and a larger dryer in the main building. We usually stay in Kangnam but we were able to discover many new places due to our stay here!

Staff was great! Though the rooms were clean, but the physical room itself is not maintained well. They need to reseal bathroom installations, check for molds, replace old/broken parts, update carpets, and physical amenities can be improved drastically for the price we paid. Our shower leaked to the sink area (broken seal in the glass wall), the carpet is not a carpet. It's the cheap material that typically probably goes under a carpet. Our second bedroom door didn't close as the second bed blocked the door. The noise is real, it's in a busy area so ton of places to eat/drink. If you're sensitive to noise, don't book at this location. The noise comes through as there is almost no noise cancellation of any sort.

For the price you pay, you're expecting a bit of more higher quality and maintenance of the property. However, the wear and tear of the rooms is visibly noticeable and needs to be revamped.

The rooms are also much smaller than pictures. As noted above, we could not close our door to one of our bedrooms.

Location is great as it is close and walking distance to all touristy spots. Food scene is decent, lots of variety.

Location was amazing if you want to just walk out and have access to the restaurants and bars in the Jongak area. Also, very close to chunggaechun, where walking is very nice especially at night.

I paid extra for the maru living room. It was great for taking pictures but at least for the unit we got (401), the layout wasn’t the best. Also, bathroom doors were very heavy and wouldn’t stay open. Additionally, this room type was in the annex which was about 5 min walk from the main building.

I would consider staying again but only at the main building.

It was the worst accommodation experience we ever had. The photos are deceiving since it looked nice and clean. The unit we stayed in was not well maintained with walls that had food stains and water stains that has set in so can't come off(we complained about the stains so they cleaned but didn't come off). The remedied the stains with a wallpaper patch which I thought was so ghetto. Also, the walls of the unit are very thin. We heard neighbors' TV, talking, singing, and laughing until 3am as well as water running in the pipes. We had to cut our reservation short because I could not stay there any longer since I didn't get good night sleep during the 2 nights we did stay. Luckily, I was able to get the money back for the remaining days booked; however, the business was being difficult giing me the refund. Overall, a very unpleasant experience.

FYI the Olive Young is actually a BBQ Chicken Village! Was not as disturbed by the music at night as others have commented. But the issue about the shower water is definitely something to work around.

The staff were great about giving us tons of extra towels. They also helped us a ton by holding onto our larger bags before our actual check-in day when we were spending a couple days outside of Seoul first. Super helpful staff.

We had looked forward to staying at this property given the hype/appeal of the brand, but were met with quite the disappointment. The unit itself was nothing like the advertised. We booked one of the two bedroom units with 3 double/queen beds, and that itself is unique and helpful in Seoul. But the unit is very cramped, and condition is ~10 years older than the pictures shown. The rooms have air con, but the unit is musty. The carpet didn’t look very clean. The worst attribute is the bathroom. Nothing like the pictures. There are tiny partitions between the toilet, shower and sink, but the water from the shower would splash and flow all over the space. Not in the well-designed Japanese way, in a let’s cram it all in manner. To top it off, this hotel/apartment is located within a commercial restaurant/norebang building. It smelled quite awful every time we went in and out of the building, and the while the noise didn’t penetrate the room, the surrounding area was very loud. The plus, and the main reason we chose this place, is its location relative to transportation options and sights/shopping/dining. It’s a 10/10.

I feel badly about writing this negative review but we were incredibly disappointed. This place badly needs a refurbishment. We would not stay at another UH property again.

We are a family of 6, with 3 generations and chose UH suites Jongno based on the excellent reviews and large accommodations. Unfortunately, we came to realize quickly the bad reviews were correct. Most importantly the shower water floods out of the stall into the entirety of the bathroom making it hazardous for my MIL who relies on a cane. Their solution was to provide more towels which immediately got drenched no matter how many we lay down. No way are we going to spend a portion of our trip in the ER so we checked out early. The hotel “penalty” was to keep the entirety of our payment totaling 5 nights. Thankfully Expedia offered to remedy this with a refund on their end.

I would not classify this property as family friendly given the nightlife right outside the door and loud karaoke through the night.

Our family of four stayed here for a quick few days in South Korea before flying to Japan. Property was clean, and we got new water bottles and towers every day (full room cleanings are done every 4 days). Room was massive by Korean standards! We got a “traditional” room that came with everything you need to make traditional tea, and some floor seating (not all seating was floor, there were also chairs). Washer was really handy, and location can’t be beat! Keep in mind it’s a busy area with very active (loud) night life, so bring some ear plugs just in case. Staff was so helpful, we really enjoyed our stay - thank you!!

Beautifully decorated, clean, excellent central location. What I assume to be a traditional Korean-style living room is elegant, and the lit candle and quiet jazz music playing on the tv upon arrival were nice touches. Helpful, friendly staff.

The only cons would be a musty smell in the new-looking washer, narrow space between the kitchen counter and dining table, and the noticeable music from neighbouring pubs at night (which didn't really bother us, personally).

If you’re prioritizing location and ease after partying, this could be a good choice. We were looking for a clean and comfortable spot to unwind in after adventuring all day. We learned the hard way that this property’s pictures do got well represent their property. It is more like a hostel than a hotel. Upon arriving we found that we were assigned to the room only a few feet from the front desk and upon entering our room, we were unimpressed with the unpleasant smell, dirty walls and carpet and furniture. We reached out to Expedia to ask if we could possibly cancel our six nights at this facility; Expedia suggested we speak with the front desk workers. We were denied the option of a refund and no one checked in with us about our concerns. We chose to leave early due to the fact that the property was not what we were expecting for our family vacation. Our friends stayed at a hotel nearby with a great lobby, welcoming and accommodating staff and clean and comfortable room for a similar price; we would recommend looking around the area for better options.

The suite without view can get a bit claustrophobic. The whole unit only has 2 small escape windows, one in main bedroom and one in the bathroom.
Good thing is you don't get the noise from the clubs around.
The shower stall is incapable of keeping water from flowing out, hence the basin area is forever wet.
Staff were nice and very responsive. Location is great with a nice bustling nightlife. Starbucks on 2nd floor made morning coffee a breeze but they only open 10am on saturdays. Can't remember about sunday. Overall great experience

The room we stayed in was very nice. We would get new towels and water bottles every day. The room would be clean thoroughly very 4 days (with the guest's permission). The staff were very communicative and friendly. The area around was also quite nice. It's walking distance for Myeongdong, but far less busy so the area isn't packed with tourists. It's also close to the Line 2 subway and the bus stop. There is a bar across the street. So if you are in the bedroom closest to the street, be prepared to hear lots of kpop late into the night.

This location is very convenient for getting food. The staff are helpful. Our room had 2 bedrooms and 3 beds, which was nice for staying with teens. Plenty of space.
If you need quiet to sleep, this may not be a great place for you. The area is hopping at night with music playing way past midnight. Would be nice if the rooms had an extra mirror in one of the other rooms.
The washing machine and dryer were useful. It’s a convenient location for visiting many sights. 15 min walk to Myeongdong to the south and 15 min walk to the Palaces. Insadong street is only 5 mins away.
It’s a no frills suites hotel great for 3 or more people who would prefer extra space over amenities and facilities available at larger hotels.

UH at Jongno was a nice and clean hotel. The staff were very hospitable and were accommodating to many our needs. There are a plentiful amount of dining options near the hotel with stations in short walking distance. Only issue was the music near the west side of the hotel that continues late into the night of every night that would disrupt those who are light sleepers.
Overall a great hotel, would recommend.

Great property. The suite booked had two bedrooms which was great since we brought my father in law. Every one had a private space to sleep. Centrally located near many bus and subway stations. Loved it here!

Awesome find, great value, fantastic service!

Location - great! Literally surrounded by restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, pubs, convenience stores etc at your doorstep.
15 min walk to Myeongdong's shopping district, 5 min to the nearest train/subway station (Jonggak), easy to hail a cab/taxi. No shopping to do except for one Olive Young (skincare and cosmetics) store a minute's walk away but food is 100% aplenty!

Room itself was very clean and tidy. Size of the entire unit (we got the Main Building Suite which consists of 2 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom) was compact, but was good for us as we only returned to the room to shower and sleep. We had a view of the busy streets below so it was fun people-watching at night, street noise was expected but manageable.

Towels were changed and bins emptied daily. Free bottled water daily. Shower was small but had good water pressure.

Reception was very helpful the entire time with everything from luggage storage, check-in to sharing info about local shops/restaurants.

Loved the laundry facilities - free to use washer and dryer next to the reception desk, but note it gets busy in the morning and late at night when everyone is back in their rooms.

Honestly very happy with everything. Value for money! Would return with my family or friends:)

Family of 4 so there were enough beds to spread out (3 double beds). A little tight getting through the kitchen area but it had everything you needed. Supplied drinking water in a decent size fridge. Nice bathroom. Only downside was the restaurant/bar in the building blasts music most of the day and night. (Not their fault) luckily we have a white noise machine so it didn’t prevent us from sleeping. Allowed us to store our luggage upon arrival and departure as we had early and late flights. Great stay overall.

The location is very convenient. A lot of good restaurants in the area. Walking distant to popular attractions. The unit is smaller than the pictures we see at expedia, but still ok, the only problem is the bathroom. When showering, water comes out and makes the bathroom floor all wet.

The property had a great location that was walkable to two stations and about 15 minutes walk to Myeongdong. There were several convenience stores, Starbucks and restaurants nearby.
The property itself was a large space for the 7 of us which was great, however on close inspection, found dust and dirt in corners/headboard, paint was bubbling on the walls, some power points were not working. We had some issues with the showers fluctuating between hot and cold, and noise from nearby bars/restaurants at night.
The reception desk was not staffed (I'm guessing because it wasn't their main building) but it was very easy to get in touch when we needed anything and they were very quick to respond.

This propert is big and suitable for family of 4. I would have stayed here from the very beginning if I’d know of this property beforehand. The AC during winter is not bad, compared to this one hotel we stayed in the area where the room is overly warm and there is no way to control the temperature other than opening the windows. The front desk staff are also very helpful and they speak English. They helped me get a cab multiple times and helped with our luggages as well. The only downside is that, because it is in a very busy area, you can hear the nearby karaoke bar outside. But, if you are a deep sleeper like me, you will be fine.

If you like to drink and don't mind noise

The location is convenient for transportation, with plenty of dining options within a one-block radius, including convenience stores, Olive Young, and coffee shops.

One of the things I didn't like were the noises from the restaurants and businesses downstairs, including loud music that continued late into the night. In the morning, there was significant noise from construction and the housekeeping staff opening and closing doors. It seems that the walls are quite thin. Additionally, I wouldn't recommend using white furniture unless it's stain-resistant. I had placed a couple of bath towels on the sofa before sitting on it.

I wished the room had a peephole and a 'do not disturb' sign. Housekeeping would stop by every morning to provide clean towels and bottled water, but we couldn't see who was at the door. This happened regardless of whether we were inside or out. They seemed to use a system on their door that indicated if a keycard was inserted into the slot, similar to how many hotels require a key card to activate room features. This allowed them to know if we were 'home' or inside the room.

The staff was very helpful in ordering a taxi to the airport. Communication with them via WhatsApp was easy and efficient, eliminating the need to make phone calls or go downstairs.

Great area for shopping and restaurants. You can hear music playing from bars and restaurants on the street until between 2-4 am most nights but we were so tired at the end of the day that it wasn't a huge deal. The suite was smaller than it looked in pictures, the carpet needed cleaned (thank goodness for the slippers they provide) and the bathroom could have used some maintenance (shower drain was slow and bidet did not work). Laundry on site is really nice and all the front desk staff we dealt with was very nice and helpful.

LOVED IT!

Amazing location, right in the middle of exciting nightlife and close to many sightseeing spots. Very clean rooms and plenty of space for three people. They also have a place where they’ll keep your bags for you, for days if necessary. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
I highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you for your hospitality!

This place is a convenient location with bus stops and jonguk station very close by. It also has a lot of places to eat in all the alley ways. The bad thing is there is a nightclub across the street and it is very loud especially on the weekends so bring ear plugs.

Excellent centrally located suite in Seoul in a buzzing area, but very small compared to the other suites I stayed in (Fraser Place Central, Seoul and LCT Grand Residence, Busan). It was also the most expensive accommodation of all the suites I stayed in and didn’t have a dishwasher or clothes dryer. It’s not an issue in and of itself, but if this is important to you, then it’s just worth noting.

I booked the ‘Maru’ suite which doesn’t explicitly state that there’s no sofa in the living space, so it was incredibly uncomfortable to lounge around because you’re sitting on a hard wooden floor. I felt that the suite should have been advertised with very clear instructions about this - not expecting customers to decipher this from photos or realise that ‘Maru’ means wooden floor in Korean. In fairness, when I raised it with the front desk, they tried very hard to find me a spare sofa to put in the room, but there were none available.

The dining table was also very awkward because the chairs were way too big to fit neatly under the table, so it made the space unnecessarily more crowded. The bathroom basin didn’t drain properly and the shower water temperature also fluctuated wildly. We have a young baby so it was distressing having her in the shower because the water would fluctuate from cold to warm to scalding.

The best part of the property was the location. It was very lively with plenty of shopping and close to Insadong.

Great convenient location and lots of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. As others commented, it will be very noisy at night so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper - but you will be exhausted anyway from all the sightseeing. Wonderful, friendly staff. Great space for 5 adults. We found it to be convenient to get around the city, and nice walk from Insadong area. Be aware that the entire bathroom floor will get soaking wet after a shower so leave your slippers outside the bathroom. Washer in room was a great amenity. Dryer behind front desk - best to access early morning. Highly recommend this place to stay.
