I had to switch rooms twice due to issues—a cramped layout in the first (bathtub next to the bed and a narrow bathroom), a leaking bathtub in the second, and in the third, a hard bed, intrusive light from another room, no city view as advertised, and a door that wouldn’t close properly. The front desk representative (man with glasses) was professional and explained it was the last available room, but overall, the experience didn’t meet expectations.

The rooms are all unique and quite special. We had a couple of small issues with the bathtub but the staff were very helpful, we were even offered a different room but chose to stay when their other sollutions worked. The hotel is extremely central to both Myeongdong, Jongno Shrine, and many other places. A good place to stay in Seoul. Bed was quite firm but we got used to it.

Underwhelming Experience

From the photos, you get to see how nice the rooms are etc. Each room have different concept etc. ONLY if you pay for the most expensive rooms available.

Which we did not know there is a difference in room concept. We paid for a normal queen size and room. And the room is nothing from the photos as advertised.

However to be fair, the room is fairly big enough to put luggage and walk around. The toilet and bath tub is big enough to roam around. That was the only thing that is positive from my experience.

The bed is another let down. I know the material under the bed sheet is suppose to prevent any stain for the mattress. But it is damn noisy as it sounds like plastic. Not comfortable to sleep on.

As for room service, nothing much was done. Bed sheets tugged in, no change in blanket nor bed sheets or pillow case. It was only after a few days later the room service changed the blanket and bed sheets.

Another encounter was after the first night we did not want the room service. But however despite putting the sign \"Do Not Disturb\" they still clean the room when we are not around. We had some valuables lying on the table etc. But lucky nothing went missing. From then on we just ask for room service everyday and keep our valuables.

In all, it is a average experience. Not so recommendable. Only stay if you are a Korea expert and know your way to nearby places and trains and you are fine with subpar hotel standards.

All the rooms are fairly unique. What an incredible location by Cheonggyecheon Stream and to so many other sites which we wanted to visit. We enjoyed walking and biking around the area. As much as we liked all those features, the staff were the best assets because they were so helpful and accommodating.

Very pretty hotel room but not the most practical

The room I stayed in was really pretty. It had a tree in the room and was very spacious. The staff were also very nice and overall the hotel and the room was very clean.

However, it was not a very practical room to stay in. There were no places to hang my hand towel or bath towel or clothes in the bathroom. There was no full length mirror or space in front if the mirror. The lighting was also very dim. The entrance to the hotel is also in a very strange and difficult to find alley that does not feel very safe. Only 1 hanger was provided as well.

I had a good experience, but I doubt I would go back unless they improve the facilities in the room.

Whilst the staff tried to be helpful and were very polite they didn't actually do what we asked. The room was far too hot even with the aircon on because the underfloor heating was I high. Each day we asked for it to be turned down or off but nothing was done. The hot water ran out during the shower and although the room had remote to work everything including the lights it didn't work ! So would not visit again.

Design flaws

Strikes as a converted love hotel. Worst of all, the mattress type seems to be the same as in its old use. No (apparent) way to regulate temperature (thermometer showed 33C on arrival) - floor heating. Nice staff though. Bathtub only, short shower hose. Close to a major road, but hidden in an entertainment district.

Tiny room, stylish but not too functional!

Hotel The Designers was what I expected from the name - Great in concept and to look at but not very practical for a longer stay for the standard room we chose.
There was very little space for luggage, and the bathroom was interesting in that there was nothing stopping water from going all over the floor in the bathroom while having a shower, no hooks in the bathroom to hang towels or clothes and the toilet roll got wet while showering.
The room was also very poorly lit with a few weak down lights and nothing bedside.
The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help answer some of our queries, and the decor was clean and new.
The hotel is not that easy to find, seemingly down a small alley off another alley, so look out for the lit-up name on the side of the building.
The hotel is great for a short stay, but not recommended for a longer stay with luggage.

First Two Day stay in room A905. The room design is not good.
Coz the bathtub is just beside the bed.
How can I use it?

Last Two stay in room B1005. The room design become better.
The bathtub back to the washroom and I finally can enjoy it!

But unfortunately, I think the person who tidy the room forgot to close the refrigerator door.
So when I weak up the next day morning.
I find out a lot of water on the floor and make all my belongings get wet, including my camera bag........... >.<
I use lots of time to dry my bag..........

Hope the next time, the staff can pay attention for the room facilities.

Beautiful hotel with great design

Though it may take a little time to find this hotel as it's tucked away amid various restaurants and shops, it does give a sense of welcome when you step through its doors. The staff are friendly and readily helped when there's a problem. Be it connecting to the wifi, asking for directions or simply just to open a beer bottle, they have a positive attitude. He design of the lobby is almost out of the set- simply spectacular. I booked a superior double room, despite being a tat bit small, its industrial style design does appeal to me. I suppose the suites would be even more spectacular with its themed design. Overall a great experience staying at Hotel the Designer Jongno, I'll also consider staying there again in future!

Quaint hotel, one block from Insadong

Stayed 4 nights, switched rooms after 2 nights because the first room was too small for 2 people. Friendly hot\"else staff, even had complementary umbrellas for us to use. Hotel is in a good location, but it is a bit difficult to find, because it is located in a back alley, and cannot be seen from the main streets. However, they have cards for the taxi drivers and it worked fine for us.

Hotel has great access to Insadong shopping areas, subway and Seoul station. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops nearby as well.

The rooms are creative, although a bit small. For a single traveler, it would be comfortable. Rooms could use some more functional features, like hooks for towels, shelves to place toiletries and personal items.

I enjoyed my stay, and would stay again.

Good location, fun concept, but poorly executed

For the price we paid, we thought it might be a good idea to stay somewhere fun like Hotel the Designers. I think we got what we paid for. We stayed in a room with a teepee, a bicycle under the sink, and a jungle themed shower, which was all fun, I suppose, but it wasn't clean (dusty, and found a soap wrapper left behind), poorly maintained (floor was cracking), and service wasn't very friendly. I appreciated the Jongo location, but only because it's close to lots of places... The hotel in the alleyway and the general demographic of the area (ahjussi's/old men in their 50-60s) left much to be desired.

Very well located near Jongno3 subway interchange station, in an area with lotsa eateries, next to Cheonggyechong Stream (no view of it though) and walking distance to Insadong and Changdeokgung Palace. Front desk were helpful and pleasant.
Bad: 1) Entrance to hotel is through a dark back alley. 2) Bathroom lights shut off by itself after sometime and when asked hotel staff could not explain. I think bathroom lights run on timer. 3) Returned 1 evening to find a bag of rubbish and 2 empty tea bag wrappers on da table (not my doing!). 4) Soiled bed sheets and towels. 5) No shower screen/curtains so da whole bathroom gets wet. 6) No hooks to hang anything, not even a bath towel or hand towel, in da bathroom. 7) Dust in plain sight everywhere.
It is a cheaper hotel by Seoul standards so I got what I paid for. Stay elsewhere if u can afford.

Location of the hotel was not bad as walking distance to where we wanted to go...Myeondong and Insadong as well as to the public transportation(metro) Hotel entrance was in a small alley with many mom-pop eateries and we usually looked up to guide us back to the hotel as the signs to the hotel were hardly seen.Toiletries/amenities were fine, only got two teabags entire stay of 5 days there, one free choice of either grape or orange juice each day and complimentary water bottles. The room was cleaned everyday; problem of no desk drawers or shelvings, but real difficulty was there was no shower curtain to avoid splash from rainshower head attached to the ceiling so water all over the floor becoming slippery to step on unless person prefers tub baths all the time.Nice warm seat on commode was a surprise. Might consider staying again...

The location is pretty decent (subway stations are about a 5-10min walk away), and the rooms are nicely furnished. However, I would not return to this hotel.

1. Hotel staff are extremely unhelpful, with no initiative whatsoever. Requests for help are met with confused looks and reluctance. Eg. If you ask for a taxi, they will say they cannot call one for you because the taxis would not know how to get to the hotel. They will instead ask you to walk to the main road to hail one. Even on our last day when we had heavy luggage, and needed one at 6am, it was only after a lot of cajoling that they agreed to call one for us! Also, don't bother asking them where to find certain shops/restaurants because they'll just say they don't know (you're better off googling on your phone), and don't expect any help with your luggage (whether bringing them to/from the rooms, or lifting them in/out of taxis).

2. The bathrooms are poorly designed - no separate sunken floor area for the shower/bathtub. This was the case for both the standard room and suite we stayed in. This means that every time you shower, the entire bathroom floor gets flooded.

3. Also, the mattresses are extremely hard and uncomfortable.

While the prices are decent, there are definitely better alternative hotels to choose from. Will certainly not return to this one.

Good Location staff need improvement

This hotel has a great location close to subwaystations and shopping. Many restaurants close by, but mainly coffeeshops and not-so-fancy-places. Some of the staff were ignorant and could not help us. We met one man who was very helpful. Our room (702) was very small, had no hangers whatsoever and no decorations. It did not look at all like the pictures of the rooms on the internet. The bathroom had a nice rainforestshower but no showercurtain which made the whole bathroom wet when taking a shower. The heating was controlled by the TV remote which only had signs in korean. A translation in the hotelinfo pack would have been helpful. The hotelentrance is on a backstreet and very small. Overall a nice hotel with great location but so overdesigned that it lacks some practical aspects.

Staff needs work, overall good experience

Room was bigger than what I was expecting. Modern and new, love the rain shower. Housekeeping didn't clear my used tea cups for 2 days though, but they did bring my laptop down when I forgot it with left luggage.

Front desk staff knew minimal English, didn't really go out of their way to try and help with suggestions or when I inquired about a show to make reservations they just gave me the number and expected me to call myself. I don't speak Korean. I guess they're not really concierge. Overall it was close to the subway and in a happening area and clean.

The Designers Hotel Jongno

When you travel to Seoul with family from Australia, the biggest challenge isn’t the flight — it’s the sleeping arrangement.

Six adults.
Different sleep habits.
Parents who value quiet rest.
Younger ones who still have energy at midnight.

We were honestly worried.

That’s why we chose the Grand Family Room at
The Designers Hotel Jongno.

The moment we walked in, my parents paused for a second.

My mum’s first words were,
“Oh… this is actually very nice.”

And that says a lot.

The beds were already neatly aligned, with crisp white linens and plenty of pillows. Everything looked clean, bright, and properly prepared — not like a room where extra beds were just squeezed in.

My dad immediately walked to the wall side bed, pressed the mattress with his hand, and nodded.
“Good support,” he said. Approval granted.

What surprised us most was how comfortable the layout felt.
Even though we were six people in one room, it didn’t feel chaotic.

There was enough space to move around.
Luggage didn’t block the walkway.
The low center table became our little gathering spot — we placed snacks we bought in Jongno, plugged in our phones, and just sat around talking about the day.

For my parents, comfort is everything when traveling.
They’re sensitive to noise and cleanliness.

That night, before turning off the lights, my mum said,
“I’m glad we didn’t book two separate rooms. This feels warmer.”
She was right

I came to Korea with my husband to visit his family, and toward the end of our trip he had a medical appointment at Seoul National University Hospital. Because of that, we looked for a hotel that would make the hospital visit easy, and we decided to stay at Designers Hotel Jongno. It ended up being a much better stay than I expected.

The room was clean, comfortable, and practical. Nothing fancy, but everything felt well-maintained. The bed linens were fresh, the bathroom was very clean, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent, which was honestly one of my favorite parts after long days outside. The room also felt bright and had a good layout, which made it easy to unpack and settle in.

There was a safe in the room, which made keeping my passport and valuables secure really simple. I also appreciated the small desk area, which was convenient when I needed to sort through travel documents.

The hotel provides bicycles for rent, so one morning I took a quick ride around the neighborhood. Jongno is easy to explore, and walking along the nearby Cheonggyecheon stream was really refreshing. The area felt lively but not crowded.

We had a car with us during our stay, and parking was very convenient, which made exploring the city without worrying about finding a spot much easier.

For my trip to central Seoul, I chose Hotel The Designers Jongno, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from Jongno 3-ga Station, making transportation incredibly convenient. I recently visited Seoul from Australia, and staying at **The Designers Hotel Jongno** was honestly one of the best decisions I made on this trip.

From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was special. The lobby isn’t huge, but it’s stylish and gives off a calm, boutique vibe. The staff at the front desk were friendly and welcoming, which made check-in super easy — a great start after a long flight.

But what really stood out to me was **how clean everything was**.
The bed linens were spotless, the towels were fresh and fluffy, and the whole room just felt well cared for. Later I found out the hotel had **recently replaced all their towels**, which totally explained why everything smelled so clean and felt brand new.
As a traveler, cleanliness is a big deal for me, and this place exceeded my expectations.

Hotel The Designers Jongno – A Refined Stay with Comfort and Culinary Delights

My recent trip to Seoul was mainly for LASIK surgery at Seoul National University Hospital 👀.
Since I needed a comfortable place to recover, I chose Hotel The Designers Jongno, and it turned out to be the perfect choice ✨.

Located in the heart of Jongno, the hotel offers excellent accessibility.
It’s within walking distance of Seoul National University Hospital, Bukchon Hanok Village, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Insadong.
There are also plenty of cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores nearby, making the stay incredibly convenient.

The room design is modern and stylish, with plenty of natural light creating a warm and cozy atmosphere.
The bed was soft and clean, perfect for resting after surgery.
The bathroom was spotless, with a great shower and stable hot water supply.
There’s also a small workspace and fast Wi-Fi, which made it easy to work or relax 💻.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive.
When my schedule suddenly changed due to the surgery, they kindly assisted with rescheduling and transportation arrangements.
Their warm smiles and thoughtful service made me feel completely at home ❤️.

The lobby area was elegant and spacious, with a comfortable seating zone perfect for a short break or coffee.
Security systems and facilities were well-maintained, so I felt safe throughout my stay.

The surrounding area is also full of culinary delights.

During my trip to Seoul, I stayed at Jongno Designers Hotel for a few days, and it exceeded my expectations. Located in the heart of Jongno, the hotel lets you enjoy the perfect mix of tradition and modernity.

The location is excellent. Gwangjang Market, Cheonggyecheon Stream, Myeongdong, Insadong, and Bosingak are within walking distance or a short ride. I enjoyed shopping in Myeongdong, tried local foods like bindaetteok, yukhoe, and “kkwabaegi” at Gwangjang Market, and took relaxing walks along Cheonggyecheon and Insadong.

Transportation is very convenient. Subway and bus stops are nearby, so taxis were rarely needed. Being in the city center, there is plenty to see and do without visiting major tourist spots.

The hotel interior is stylish and cozy. The “Designers” concept is evident throughout. I was pleasantly surprised that the first floor sells snacks and drinks. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the electric heating pad kept me warm. The multi-outlet compatible with various plugs made charging easy.

The staff were friendly and helpful. They greeted me with a smile, communicated well in English, and gave tips about local restaurants and attractions. The hotel also provides bike rental and free washer/dryer.

Overall, Jongno Designers Hotel excels in location, cleanliness, service, amenities, and attention to detail. The calm atmosphere and comfortable space made my stay memorable. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Seoul.

I stayed at The Designers Hotel Jongno, located in the heart of Jongno-gu, Seoul, for one night and two days, and my experience was very satisfying. It was a precious time during my trip where I could feel warmth and attention to detail.

The hotel’s location is excellent. It’s within walking distance to Jongno 3-ga subway station, and major tourist spots like Cheonggyecheon Stream and Gwangjang Market are nearby, making it convenient for sightseeing, shopping, and food adventures.
The exterior has a modern design, and especially at night, the lighting adds a sophisticated atmosphere. Upon entering the lobby, I immediately felt a clean and warm ambiance, and the front desk staff greeted me with smiles, giving me a sense of comfort as if I had returned home.

I arrived quite late at night, but the hotel’s 24-hour front desk service made checking in smooth and hassle-free. The staff were very professional and friendly, providing detailed information about the hotel facilities and the surrounding area, which made me look forward to the rest of my trip.
Especially, having a staff member who spoke Chinese helped me communicate smoothly without any language barriers, which was really convenient.

I stayed one night at Hotel The Designers Jongno during my trip to Seoul, and it was a wonderful experience. The front desk staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming from check-in, explaining everything clearly and making me feel truly cared for — it really set a positive tone for my stay.
The location was perfect for sightseeing — Ikseon-dong Hanok Village, Insadong, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Cheonggyecheon Stream were all within walking distance. Parking was available for an additional fee, which was convenient since I had my car. There were also light snacks and simple meals available late at night, which was great when I didn’t feel like going out. 昨年に続き、1年ぶりに「ザ·デザイナーズホテル鍾路」のスタンダードルームに宿泊しました。前回の滞在がとても快適だったので、また訪れるのを楽しみにしていたのですが、今回はさらにグレードアップした施設にとても感動しました。

特に、リニューアルされたアメニティやロビーの雰囲気がおしゃれで、女性一人でも安心して快適に過ごせる空間になっています。肌の管理を目的に韓国を訪問しましたが、ホテルの室内環境がとても良くて滞在中に肌の状態がとても安定的でした。

2泊3日の短い滞在でしたが、ホテルの立地も良く、近くにカフェやコスメショップ、エステなどもたくさんあり、美容目的の旅行には本当に最適でした。職員の方々もとても親切で、日本語ができる職員がいてとても良かったです

今回もすべてに満足し、素敵な思い出とともに帰国しました。また韓国を訪れる際にはぜひこのホテルを利用したいです。ありがとうございました！

Расположение оказалось просто идеальным — всего в нескольких минутах ходьбы от станции метро Jongno 3-ga, а также рядом с популярными местами, такими как Инсадон, рынок Кванчжан и ручей Чхонгечхон. Персонал был дружелюбным и отзывчивым от регистрации до выезда, благодаря чему я чувствовал себя желанным гостем и в безопасности на протяжении всего пребывания. Их тёплое отношение действительно сделало пребывание приятным.

Номер был уютным и включал всё необходимое для комфортного проживания: мягкую кровать, надёжный Wi-Fi, хорошо работающий кондиционер и плотные шторы, которые позволяли выспаться после насыщенных дней. Я также оценил мелкие приятности, такие как бесплатная бутилированная вода и зарядные порты в номере — это было очень удобно для путешественника, как я.

В целом, отель предлагает отличное соотношение цены и качества — чисто, безопасно и в отличном месте, без лишних затрат. I visited Seoul this time and chose the The Designers hotel in Jungno, and my overall experience was very satisfying!
The hotel's location is very convenient, right near the metro station, with easy access to Jingfu Palace, Insadong, and Myeongdong, making transportation incredibly convenient.

Although the room isn't particularly large, it exudes a strong sense of design, is clean and tidy, and the bed is also very comfortable. The bathroom has good water pressure, and bathing is very comfortable. The room offers coffee, tea, and mineral water, with thoughtful details.

The front desk staff are very friendly, knowing both simple Chinese and English, communicating without any issues, and they even proactively helped me check the subway lines.
There are many restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making it easy to go out and eat in the evening.

Overall, this hotel offers great value for money, has a fashionable design, and is well-located. I would definitely choose it again when I visit Seoul next time! I highly recommend this to friends visiting Korea for the first time.

I fl in from Australia all excited for my Seoul adventure… and immediately got greeted by a monsoon. By the time I dragged myself into The Designers Hotel, I looked less like a traveler and more like a wet mop with luggage.

But here’s where the story gets better: the front desk staff (who, by the way, are always there 24/7 like superheroes in suits) upgraded me for free to a room with two beds. Did I need two beds? Absolutely not. Did I love it? Of course. One for me, one for my soggy backpack. We both slept well.

Then I discovered the laundry room, and wow. Not the sad, coin-operated kind you see in dodgy hostels, but a sleek, modern setup that made me want to do laundry even when my clothes were already clean. After a few spins in that machine, I smelled less like “rainstorm survivor” and more like “functional human again.”

The hotel itself is like a convenience store and a cozy home rolled into one. There’s a parking lot (for the smart people who didn’t arrive on foot in the rain), and a magical little corner that sells snacks, drinks, booze, and ramen. Dangerous combination, because suddenly it’s 2 a.m. and you’re holding a beer in one hand and slurping noodles with the other, wondering how life got so good.

Overall, The Designers Hotel might not have chandeliers and butlers, but it has something better: comfort, practicality, and staff who actually seem to care whether you’re having a good time. I came in looking like a drowned tourist, but I left feeling like I’d ju

12/31에 10만원 중반대에 중심가에서 숙소를 잡을 수 있었다는 점이 좋았습니다. 숙소 바로 앞에 한방 전기구이 통닭을 파는데 저렴하고 맛있어요. 숙소는 4명이서 앉아서 먹고 수다 떨 수 있는 테이블이 필요했는데 딱 적당했습니다. 전체적으로 깨끗했어요. 다만 중심가라서인지 주차비를 1일 2만원 받는다고 하는데 예약할 땐 안내가 없어서 조금 당황했네요.

위치는 정말 좋아요. 직원들 즉각응대도 좋구요. 근데 호텔은 아쉬웠습니다. 저렴하고 딱딱한 매트리스에 과연 청소가 된가 싶은 상태, 환기도 너무 힘들고 도착하자마자 레노베이션하는지 가구들 다 길에 나와있어 첫인상이 정신없었어요. 첫날은 정말 피곤함에도 한시간도 제대로 못자고, 둘째날 겨우 적응하고 좀 자고 나왔네요. 그냥 위치보고 가실분들 가세요.

Luxury on a budget, would stay again.

Budget friendly hotel, the aesthetic of the hotel and rooms are very nice. We booked Suite and figured to have spa bath in the middle of the room but we were unfortunate to get one of the only suites without and it was also really not our style. (The green suite with pictures and frames all over the walls) fortunately the hotel accomodated us really nicely morning after and let us change to another suite that was almost top floor. All in all a good stay and for the price we paid you do get alot. Just keep in mind that the reality is a bit different from advertised pictures.

Wir hatten einen drei-viertägigen Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel, das Bett ist steinhart, die Hygiene definitiv nicht ausreichend und die Ausstattung mittlerweile sehr veraltet. Das Hotel muss definitiv renoviert werden und an der Hygiene muss man noch arbeiten. Die Lage ist das einzige Positive im Hotel. Flecken auf Handtüchern und auf der Bettwäsche eine grobe Sauberkeit und bisher unsere schlechteste Unterkunft. Leider nicht empfehlenswert.
