A fuir. Publicité mensongère (piscine fermée). Dédommagement refusé par le management de l’hotel. J’ai contacté ensuite le service commercial, il n’a pas donné suite. J’ai ensuite ouvert une réclamation sur le site internet, l’hotel n’a rien voulu entendre. Je suis voyageur fréquent, je n’irai plus jamais dans un Golden Tulip. Horrible.

Chaque année plusieurs séjours à Marseille et première expérience pour la piscine…..
Catastrophique quand vous réservez un hôtel pour sa piscine et que celle-ci est fermée. De plus la mauvaise fois, quand nous faisons voir que cette fermeture n’est pas mentionnée sur le site de l’hôtel alors que nous avons le site ouvert sur notre téléphone !!!!!!

The only thing is that they say they have parking, and it doesn't belong to them. It belongs to a third party and you have to pay about 20 euros per day plus tax and walk about a block with your suitcaises to the hotel.
But the hotel is very beautiful and modern and has excellent service.

I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, my experience was not worth the money I paid. While the hotel’s overall infrastructure is quite good, the service and maintenance fall far below expectations.

The housekeeping was especially disappointing. The room was not cleaned properly, and even basic areas like the door and bedspread had visible dust. The housekeeping staff also did not handle refreshments and water bottles well — the setup felt careless and unprofessional and shower was other disappointment. no pressure on tap and you don’t feel like you had shower.

Dommage d’avoir un patio en direct avec le périphérique de Marseille sachant que c’est une chambre supérieure. Il est donc difficile d’en profiter
De plus une fois que vous avez garé votre voiture, il faut sortir du parking, créer votre compte pour bénéficier de 50% et re garer votre voiture
Il serait important de le signaler dans le descriptif de l’hôtel afin de ne pas payer 50€ pour une nuit.

Try the Golden Tulip if visiting Marseille.

Friendly (if delayed - 1 receptionist on duty dealing with a guests query) but our room turned out to have not been cleaned after the last guest! Quickly moved to another room that couldn’t be faulted. Good breakfasts and lovely staff. Very good location for the ferry port.

The hotel was a bit further away from where would have liked to be in Marseille, but there was a bus right outside the hotel that went right to Vieux Port and Catalans beach. While the hotel is close to the water, you can't access it without a far walk.

The hotel is showing some age and in need of an update. The shower smelled like mold. No conditioner or lotion was provided, only a shampoo/body wash combination and hand soap.

There was no fridge in room or coffee maker. The \"king bed\" was actually two beds pushed together that separated in the night and left us with sore backs, necks and shoulders.

The pool and patio with sun loungers was nice to relax at mid day, and the drinks from the bar were good. The rooms with the sea view did have a nice view.

Très déçue j’ai pris cet hôtel pour la piscine, elle était en maintenance.
Le parking n’est pas sur place.
On m’annonce 10h30 pour le petit déjeuner j’arrive donc à 10h, les serveurs désagréable au possible ramassent absolument tout devant moi même si je leur ai demandé de juste me laisser prendre une assiette vu que les clients mangeaient encore mais non.
J’ai vraiment été déçue de la qualité du service déplorable et pourtant je suis rendue à plus de 100 hôtels cette année et je suis rarement vraiment déçue. Mais là le service est tellement médiocre que cela vous dégoûte pour le reste.

The property is located in a convenient area. The was booked for 2 adults and 2 children under 12 and it was much larger than standard hotel rooms, providing enough space. The pool was conveniently located and breakfast was available. The room however had noticeable stains on the couch and carpet. The bathroom in the room we were placed in had mildew.

This was a terrible experience. The hotel was filthy. The carpet in my room was stained beyond belief. I should have left after I saw the room. The experience was beyond disappointing. There was trash left in the hallway for days. The elevators were filthy. The lobby floor was disgusting. This was an awful, dirty and filthy hotel. I would love to see a refund for such a terrible experience.

Once past the lobby and off the elevator, hallways looked bad? Carpet was stained and dirty looking. Walls were all scratched up. The rooms looked worn out. The carpet looked like no one had vacuumed in a month. At least bedding appeared clean and bathroom looked fairly clean. I was really disappointed and was traveling with a group who were all disappointed with the lack of cleanliness. Hotel is in great area and looks nice from outside. I would not stay here again though as was not happy with the lack in housekeeping.

We stayed two days before our cruise, it was a clean and safe hotel. It was across from the “Docks” which was wonderful to have so close - the (large) mall and museum was within walking distance as well as the cathedral.

My only complaint would be the food and wait staff in the restaurant - he was fairly inattentive and we waited a long time to pay our cheque, we had to walk to the counter after some time to pay and the chicken club sandwich was cold and felt prepared in advance.

Although we may have stayed at an “off season” date, it was still very disappointing.

I would recommend this hotel but advise to avoid the restaurant.

Our stay at Golden Tulip Marseille was good overall. Our check in didn't go well, took over an hour to get a satisfactory rooms. We were getting adjoining rooms, the first two sets we got, one room would smell ok while the other would have an unpleasant smell. The third set of rooms we got were much better. The staff were very friendly and helpful, part of what took so long is they had to have their maintenance man go check the rooms to make sure they did smell. Having taken over an hour to get rooms meant we missed time to go out and explore the nearby church as we had planned.

The rooms, even the ones that smelled were clean. The beds were comfortable. I would recommend this hotel.

for a 9-story hotel, one out of every two elevators was broken, it was restrictive because of the long wait. bad smell in the corridors of the rooms. They saved us from what may have been a horrific night in Marseille, which is seemingly very not safe after dark (especially around the train station), with a last minute booking at 11:55 pm.

The man at the front desk was excellent, kind, and had great English after an exhausting day of travel that got us to Marseille at 11:30 pm instead of 6 pm thanks to numerous delays and issues with the French rail. The hotel was mostly clean, a little dated in places, but comfortable and great overall. They also helped us get a taxi back to the train station the following morning, and it saved 10-20 minutes of trying to get one ourselves.

The carpet in the room was super dirty full of stains. There were no bath products or soap just one thing on the wall with liquid soap that you can use for everything. Mattress of the sofa bed was also full of stains. Double doors between bedroom and living room didn’t fully close. It does not feel like a luxury hotel.
Nespresso machine for coffee was nice and the room was very large and spacious. Front desk staff was nice. Hard to get to the front with the car and you have to park in a garage for $30.

RUN from this place. This was the dirtiest hotel room I have seen so far. The carpet was stained. The sheets were not clean. We reported this to the staff, and nothing was done. Instead, we spent our first night without any cover as we removed the dirty covers and refused to use them. The staff said things will be taken care off in the morning. Well believe it or not, we spent 2 nights in this room. No one was also able to help us with setting up a so called parking account. We ended up paying more than €41 a day and our account was still changed for an account that did not work. By the way, I am still waiting for my deposit.

The hotel has no signage to show you where to park to check in.

The check in parking is located behind a blocked driveway and the call button isn’t marked and doesn’t give instruction on how to use it to contact the hotel.

The parking has to be paid for before actually parking (which we didn’t know so we paid once). Then paid again thru the hotel to park, which didn’t activate the gate properly so we had to pull a ticket. And had to pay a 3rd time to get out.

Paid for a terrace room, which they don’t tell you has direct eye-line to the highway and no sea view.

The room smelled like old cigarette smoke.

The hotel is little bit far from the old port it's like 30 min walking.
First they give me a small room with window which you can't open...i felt like I'm in jail so i ask to change it to bigger one with a big terrace .(only 2nd floor has terrace, the rest floors you can't open the windows ).
The room service is absolutely amazing especially the burrata salad and the udon .

We thought the hotel was lovely, the staff was super nice and helpful. Our sofa bed was below average and we had to request extra bedding to fill some of the sinking spots. Which was promptly provided by the staff. When the lights were off in the living area, the power outlets went off on the pull out bed side of the room and phones didn’t charge. Lights had to be left on which made sleeping difficult. We had no water for showers the last day, but a trickle. Was told to wait a few minutes and try again. This didn’t improve. So, showered at our next hotel. We had dinner at the restaurant and the limited menu was a surprise. We ordered the cod, and it was very overcooked and dry.

Really enjoyed my stay. The staff were pleasant and spoke various languages. There were plenty of amenities and a great breakfast buffet with lots of variety and fresh items. The room I stayed in was on the 9th floor and large, plenty of room to move around. Bathroom was clean with great water pressure and hot water. The only issue was that the carpet was stained so it looked dirty. Luckily they offer slippers. Other than the carpet, the hotel is a well lit safe area and very close to the T2 & T3 rail which can easily take you to any of the tourists spots. I would stay here again!

Le parking (payant 18€/24h) est très pratique.

Juste un petit hic. Nous étions au 5eme étage (503) et nous entendions beaucoup trop les ascenseurs monter et descendre.

Très bon hôtel, un personnel très accueillant, à l'écoute, rien à dire. Le seul point négatif que nous avons eu est le nettoyage qui a été fait samedi sachant que nous partions le lendemain, je trouve ça dommage que durant ce Lapse de temps nous avons pas de serviette de rechange, la chambre n'a pas été nettoyé. Le jour du \"nettoyage\" nous avons remarqué que les vraiment pas été changé, ni les housses de couettes qui ont juste été retourné sachant que il y en avait un qui était sale. Le sol n'a pas été fait, pas d'aspirateur rien. C'est dommage. Sinon rien à dire sur l'hôtel.

I found that most staff have a problem understanding english, which was quite surprising for a hotel chain and hotel staff. However and overall, I found this to be an issue for most of Marselles. For example, in restaraunts, the menus are often only in french and lack any english translations. Maybe it is the principle of the people or region, not sure. I received messages feom the hotel asking to review them, all in french, eventhough at check in I did not present a passport from a french speaking country. I believe its the attention to detail that is the most important. The rooms are just ok, a bit outdated, while considered the european 4* standard, I would not rate it so. Parking garage is close, however, to be noted, as with all french garages, tight spots and everything is compact.

La salle de sport est très sympa.
Déception concernant la piscine, le niveau d'eau était trop bas pour y nager, cela ressemblait plus à une pataugeoire alors que la superficie, quelle déception.
