Staff very friendly, nice small pool would be great if it had a small sauna or steam room. Disappointed in the room in that the shower only had a hand held shower and no overhead or wall mounted shower. No usb charging options so remember your charger. Location is great near metro station and walking distance to the cathedral.

the room was full of bugs and we were bitten all night. there we re 2 pillows, 1 a large cushion, which was too large to lie on, and another, very very small one that was hard and memory foam. We had an absolutely awful night. the A/C was broken in the lobby as was the revolving door. the whole experience was awful. I'd absolutely not recommend. For the price, it was awful...

Avoid this hotel

This hotel is AWFUL! It is in a questionable at best neighborhood. Upon check in we were told that in order to use the pool (we weren’t planning to) we would need to call ahead and ask permission and if granted they’d give us towels. The hotel has bedbugs. Our daughter killed one. I reported it to the manager who replied, “ no it’s not a bed bug, housekeeping took a picture”… we had disposed of the one our daughter killed, so it obviously wasn’t alone. Our room smelled of urine after sightseeing all day. The safe was broken. The manager refused to let us check out early, forcing us to stay. We did, but ended up leaving anyway. The whole experience ruined our time in Marseille.

We drove in from Nice, late at night. GPS wasn't giving exact location, so I called the hotel
The night manager was very helpful in guiding us to the right place. Our room was very comfortable. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is located within walking distance of the Old Port and La Panier areas. Parking garage ($$$) is located a street over, but we were able to load and unload the car in front of the hotel. We didn't have the breakfast buffet, but it smelled wonderful.

Location and Service are Great

The hotel is in a good location, the metro stop and Sant Charles station are nearby. There are shops and restaurants nearby and walkable as well. The room was comfortable and clean, with a good amount of storage shelves for clothing. The shower setup was odd. The shower head faced outward toward the door with a small glass pane in place that did not stop water. It was very tricky to shower without completely flooding the small bathroom floor.

The inside of the hotel and staff were amazing but the area felt unsafe and extremely dirty. There was trash everywhere! Would not visit again for this reason and actually left a day early because we did not feel safe.

Sarah and the other receptionist were amazing. They are accommodating and professional.

The internet is very slow at night. If you plan to work remote at night not ideal. I had two zooms meetings and bother were a disaster and embarrassing.

The 306 and 206 have some molds in the shower. It could be better with cloroz maybe.

This hotel is conveniently located about 10 mins walk from the main port area and serves a nice breakfast. The downside for our stay was the tiny bedroom and poor mattress which was too soft and dented from use.

My best friend and I stayed at the Best Western Plus Hotel La Joliette from June 23rd to the 25th and the staff was the best; Antonin especially was helpful with advising us on places to go and eat! He even took the time to map out the different locations for us. We also enjoyed the breakfast and the lady who served it; she was always friendly. The other staff members, Cerina, Domenico, Michael, and Sarah, were equally delightful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Decent small hotel very near to La Joliette metro station. Walkable from Marseille St. Charles train station, takes about 20 mins. Hotel room was relatively small and compact. They optimized the space quite well. Comfortable bed. Free bottled water (once per stay). Paid mini bar inside room. Small but clean bathroom. Good quality toiletries provided. Iron/ironing board provided on request. Breakfast was good with decent options, however provision for order-to-make eggs was not available (which was the only drawback in my opinion). Bar available but no in-house restaurant. However one can order room service through reception staffs. Staffs are helpful and courteous. Free use of swimming pool and sauna available at specified times. Would consider coming backWould consider coming back

Good clean hotel in a central location.

Good hotel in a very good location. Was able to take advantage of the pool for a quick dip. The breakfast was ok. The women helping was being run ragged as there were a great deal of people at breakfast.

Overall the hotel was with the price!

Excellent stay in a pleasant hotel with a perfect location, at a walking distance from the new area(Terrasses du Port mall and Mucem area).Very small rooms but extremely clean and nothing is missing: comfortable beds, safe and minibar, and even coffee/tea corner. But the air condition was not working at this season and it was very hot in the room during the night. Very nice staff, really helpful and welcoming.

Most things were great the staff were friendly and location excellent,
On the slightly negative, the parking is expensive but thats not a hotel problem, just be aware if you are driving. The rooms are really tiny and the bed wasnt overly comfortable.
Otherwise i would say it was still great value for money.

Our room, although a fabulous bed, was dark as if in the basement. I thought this hotel had a water view.
The pool was completely inside/ no windows and cold. The steam room was great.... but no one told us at check in that we had to tell them 15 minutes before we wanted to use it so they could turn it on. More communication is needed about this.

The area this hotel is located in is quite sketchy and felt uncomfortable to walk outside. We were back slightly after dark...as we felt unsafe.

The breakfast was good. Everything else was mostly underwhelming. The rooms were small and dingy. The hotel is in a less than ideal area for arriving at night. It is, however, very close to the Port - within a close walk. Parking is one street over in a parking garage, so plan to unload and then park and walk.

We arrived at 11am after being up from 4:40 that morning told we couldnt check in till 3pm didnt offer us another room or anywhere to rest and freshen up. This is a well run, clean, and relaxing hotel in a good location very close to the metro and a nice walk to various enjoyable parts of the city. A good breakfast and a great little, indoor pool. Large rooms than some in Europe and with comfortable beds. I'd definitely stay there again.

Plesant, clean room; quiet at night. Good ambiance in hotel lounge.
Location was fine once I got familiar with the area - it's not far from the old town and 10-15 minutes walk from the quay via Rue de Republique, which felt OK to walk down at night (solo traveller).
The receptionist upon arrival was very friendly and helpful.
I didn't get to use the the swimming pool as it closed at 8pm. (I had thought when booking I might use this in the evening).
There were some things advertised in the lift (bar food, express breakfast in the bar) which weren't available - this would be my only improvement i.e. to offer the things advertised. But just a small thing. Overall I was very happy with the hotel.

The staff on the whole r nice but seem unable to give a fuctioning key to my room through out my 6 nite stay extremly frustrating and the seam was rare on at the advertised time of 10am even on request on my last morning they still couldnt make sure it was on
They didnt ask as i was leaving if i enjoyed my stay which seems to me they really dont give a damn

Im traveling through France and this was the best lodging so far. The Best Western is a brand I've know since childhood however this one exceeded my expectations. It's updated and beautiful. I was greeted and welcomed by Aude. She went above and beyond to give me some recommendation on where to eat while I was in Marseille. The rest of the staff seemed every friendly as well, they greet you coming and going. The hotel seems pretty small which I enjoyed. The room was very comfortable. The furniture was very stylish yet comfortable. The bed was cozy and comfortable. And I had a great shower. I relaxed in my room during a rainy Saturday and honestly didn't want to leave the room to grab a bite to eat. I didn't not take advantage of the spa services or the amenities however I would suspect they were as top notch as this hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Marseille. This is a great location, walking distance to Vieux du Port and many other awesome sites in Marseille. Be sure to wander down the narrow alleys and explore all that Marseille has to offer. I can't wait to return when it's warmer.

Very extensive shopping facilities with boutique stores in close proximity to the hotel
Metro & tram car to old port 100 metres from hotel.

The location was good. It was also good that there was a kettle and coffee available. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

I asked for a walk-in shower and got one but I did not like the shower controls (or whatever you call them). I found it difficult to find my level of heat.

Pretty average hotel for 4 stars

The staff are generally nice. My room was small but clean. I had no hamd towels and shampoo in the room when I arrived but was delivered shortly after I called the reception. Apart from the reception staff, none of the other staff members spoke English. Felt a bit neglected whilst having breakfast in the morning as staff were busy chatting. Not a bad experience overall but will be looking for a different hotel next time in Marseille.
