The hotel has 2 sections which is not obvious when you book on line. I was originally put in the regular economy room next to the from desk which was dirty, old an unkempt. The front desk staff made a lot of noise late at night and early in the morning which was very disruptive. The room was better when I switched to the other side of the hotel. Breakfast was mediocre. Would only recommend the larger rooms.

The breakfast was of a lower standard compared to other hotels. There was no hot water for showering, only warm water. Some staff were abrupt. The beds were small and the blankets a bit thin.

The staff were wonderful- the manager Pauline (?) very accommodating. But overall the property was disappointing, although a great location on Old City, nowhere to park car or even un load car! We had to park 20 minutes walk and walk all of our luggage in on foot. They said no taxis could enter. This was a huge problem. Also the rooms had garbage on floor, and the brekkie seemed like it wasn’t made that morning. The beds were decent, the showers fine. Just overall not my favorite accommodation and prob not one I would return to.

Our experience at The Sephardic House Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. Nestled just steps away from the Zion Gate in the Jewish Quarter, this beautifully restored building offers the rare opportunity to stay inside Jerusalem’s Old City while enjoying modern comforts and warm, attentive hospitality.

From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the elegance and charm of the historic architecture. The interior courtyard, with its stone arches and serene ambiance, evokes the rich cultural heritage of the Sephardic community while providing a peaceful retreat from the city’s energy. The rooms are tastefully decorated, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay.

The location is truly unbeatable. Within minutes, we could walk to the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and countless other holy and historical sites. Being able to explore the Old City early in the morning and late in the evening, when it’s quieter and more atmospheric, was a unique privilege.

I liked that the location is 5 min walk to the Western Wall. The breakfast was really great and the staff was nice and helpful. The Shabbat dinner was very special (but that is extra - not included in price). The only thing I didn’t like was that the central air conditioning made it very cold for me and there was no solution for it other than extra blankets and pillows. Also there is no laundry which can be a problem for a longer stay. Otherwise everything was great.

Staff at breakfast is kind of rude, they just get the food out of the kitchen and that’s it, nothing warm,nothing prepare for guests, and you can see them eating while guests are still having breakfast the breakfast hotel hours.
Property is ok but not for the price of a 4star hotel.the entry door is even broken you have to push it really hard to getting bc the security guard that’s sitting there i guess is for decoration, bc he doesnt even ask if you are a hotel guest so i guess anybody can get in.
Reception staff is ok, but they are not kind ehen we check in they didn’t even bother to explain the location of the hotel in the area, neither any eating or attractions suggestions.
The bed is comfortable. Elevator was always an issue we were in the 5th floor and elevator often only made it to 4. Definitely not a 4star.

Location is great! Parking is an issue since you have to park in parking lot about 10 min away but since it's in the middle of the main attraction sites we parked our car for 2 days and walked everywhere.

We wanted to stay inside the walls of the old city of Jerusalem. There are of course much larger newer hotels outside the walls, but there's nothing like staying inside the old town. The property was in the Jewish Quarter. It was clean and not too noisy at night. Breakfast was included and was a full buffet. It is basic, so not a lot of amenities. No pool, etc. But the AC worked well; and the hot water. The beds were clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful. It is about a 3 minute walk from the Western Wall.

Pros: location, location, location. Rooms and property are clean. Staff at breakfast very friendly and helpful.

Cons: poor air conditioning in one of our rooms. Even thought we brought it to the front desk attention twice upon check in nothing was done and when we came back at 11pm we were offered to move, we were too tired to move so fan was given. Thru our 4 night stay the AC in our room worked well only for 1 day. We were told that it’s the case in every room which isn’t true as our friends stayed in the room next to us and their AC worked well.
Electricity in the entire property went out daily from an hour to up to 3 hours. Nothing was ever announced or told to the guests about it. Assistance from the front desk was very average, we weren’t really listened too before the answers were provide (obviously incorrectly)

When I just made a reservation, I called the hotel and ask about accessibility for elderly people, because my parents are 80 and 85 years old. And the staff member who answered the phone, didn’t tell me anything about 15 stairs before entering the lobby. We had so much luggage, and it was really difficult to climb all the stairs for my parents. We supposed to have one bottle of wine in each room, but they didn’t give it to us. The mirror in the bathroom was broken in, and the room was full of dust.
But the location was amazing and really close to the Western Wall. And the breakfast was really good.

Windows in room were crooked and had to stay open a bit. Other things in disrepair.
When leaving they offered to call a taxi for us only to find out that he got money from the taxi driver and we paid more than if we had gotten a taxi in the street. Leaves a bad taste when you get a strong sense that they only want to help themselves

Very nice hotel conveniently located in the old city. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. I would go for the deluxe rooms on the first floor as the lesser rooms were below and was very basic. The deluxe rooms were amazing tho and I love the inner courtyard.

This is a lovely hotel conveniently located in the Old City of Jerusalem. Unfortunately the room temperature cannot be controlled by the guest as it is a central AC/Heat system and we were uncomfortably warm for the majority of our stay. The hotel provided a fan and we left the window open during the day but had to close it at night due to street noise. Despite the many wonderful attributes of the hotel I cannot recommend it to others nor will I stay here again as this is a significant issue. Previous reviews also indicated that the air conditioning did not work but did not describe the guest's inability to control the temperature at all.

The location was great and close to key sights. The bed was comfortable and the room and hotel are generally clean. Some of the staff were friendly.

The room we had was meant to be a quiet one but it faced into a basketball court where the noise from the kids was constant til late into the night. The window blocked out most of the sound. The bathroom needs an upgrade asap as the sink was cracked so the floor got wet often and the toilet seat was uncomfortable as it was badly installed and in an awkward position. The breakfast was good but most things were the same everyday.

Simple but clean and comfortable accommodations in a great central location. Breakfast was included in our reservation and was incredible. The front desk staff was very helpful. Air conditioning in our room was robust, something we don’t always find in older hotels.

Two small glitches: The hotel could really use better signage. There’s construction going on in front of the hotel. There’s no good place for taxis to stop. Our driver came out to look for the entrance because it wasn’t clear where to go. Not a big deal except we had a lot of luggage. Secondly, someone is doing some type of stonework outside the hotel at night. Wasn’t too loud in our room but at least one other guest had trouble sleeping. Bring your earplugs!

The architecture in beautiful. The breakfasts were amazing and were on a huge buffet. All personnel were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable. The room was very clean.
What I didn't like: : hauling suitcases up the front stairs. Apparently there is an elevator in back but we didn't know about it.

This hotel has an excellent location to be close to the Kotel. I love the architecture of this hotel, the rooms have high ceilings and are ample. They provide fresh towels and supplies every day or per request. Arpina in reservations has excellent customer service practice, listens and considers clients requests and needs. The kitchen also provided us with lactose free milk apart from soy. We had a very good stay and will definitely there again.

This was our third stay. The location is excellent if you want to be close to the Kotel. The staff is friendly and speak good English. They are also helpful to give directions for places. We parked the rental car at Zion gate and used Pango app to pay. Breakfast Had a variety of food to eat. We will definitely stay there again.

Great location within the walled city in Jewish quarter, friendly people and excellent breakfast buffet. Sometimes vehicles cannot enter the city which can make luggage hauling difficult (closest gate is Zion gate, about 10 minutes walk). Ask the hotel if that would be a problem when you arrive or depart particularly from Friday Sundown to Saturday sundown.

The hotel is very expensive relative to the service: the hallways are noisy and the staff not very friendly. The internet has down for a day and the manager tried to tell me that it was my device. The card locks on the doors were broken for a day. The location is great if you must be the Jewish quarter and the breakfast is amazing. Be aware of expecting similar dollar value from the US to Israel in terms of accommodations

Very well situated in the old city for getting to attractions like the Western Wall although there were very few u places to eat close by and in future I would choose a room at the back of the hotel as ours was very noisy from children in the school and in the the playground opposite even at night.

But regarding the hotel location ,you should have offer a service plus....TO PICK UP YOUR CLIENT IN JAFFA GATE with small car (or other mean) and accompagn them to the hotel... and after stay the same service in opposite.way.....even if this service plus is not free but not too expensive...

The Sephardic House is an understated gem! I had a great experience staying there, the staff were always courteous and friendly. My room was excellent, serving my needs well. The breakfast buffet was delicious and I highly recommend it to start your day right.

Location and staff friendliness made this a wonderful stay. We arrived at the end of Shavuot and could not check into our hotel room until 10pm, because guests did not check out until the official end of the holiday, and it was a madhouse. I presume it is the same at the end of Shabbat. Time your stay wisely. Also recommend getting the deluxe room, which was charming. We were originally placed in an economy room by mistake and it was a disappointment. Staff was so friendly and helpful, it made up for the chaos.
