Check-in was easy enough when they eventually found my booking. Room was small but adequate. Bathroom was tiny but everything was clean and will presented. Good hearing system and the shutters were great for blacking out light. The area was generally pretty quiet apart from a couple of brew crew members who sat nearby at times, but presented no trouble. Proximity to Gambetta station is amazing; a mere 30 steps or so away from the hotel. Staff were pleasant, very amenable and humoured our Franglais, although I have to say it quite often just slipped into English.

This is a basic hotel which will meet most needs for a short stay in the city. Very close to the metro and walking distance to many of the sites.

We arrived in the evening a lot of migrants around the hotel and a lot of graffiti on buildings. We went out for a meal but not a lot of choice. Hotel very basic but clean and safe. Next morning totally different still migrants around but a lot of locals going to work and school large Market nearby and Metro next to hotel which was very easy to use hotel car park under ground and Staff were excellent

The staff were great and the hotel was good. The parking is in a secure underground location but access to it is very limited if like us, your vehicle has low ground clearance - I now need a new front lower valance. Also the little square outside seems to be frequented by local undesirables - we were greeted by them having a fight which included throwing bottles at each other as well as fists. Although not strictly the hotels fault or responsibility but cctv or other security measures may help.

Nice hotel on the outskirts of town
The room was basic but suited us well. The staff were friendly, with excellent English and the room was cleaned daily to a high standard. The hotel is right next to the Metro station, the only downside to this being you can hear the escalator constantly from the room above, though we did get used to it. The market is right on the doorstep on a Sunday (and I think a Thursday), so was lovely for a walk around. It is about a 30 minute walk to the centre and less than 5 mins to lots of restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

Have stayed in this hotel several times, always friendly helpful staff. The secure parking although an extra cost is extremely useful. Hotel is adjacent to the metro which is great for getting to the centre but we have frequently walked as it is not really too far. The local market is only 5 minutes walk and well worth visiting. Also highly recommend the bakery Maes directly opposite Best Hotel.

Awful location, tiny rooms (shower so small that it was very hard to wash one’s feet!), some of staff not helpful / friendly, on-street parking very hard. But it was pretty cheap. Best avoid the breakfast too.

Affordable accomodation for a stay in Lille.
The hotel is convenient for most of Lille. Right outside is a city bike hire station and a Metro station is just to the left of the entrance. You find that a 20-40 minute walk will bring you to all you may wish to see or visit. It isn't located in the most salubrious part of Lille, though I didn't feel perturbed or threatend when returning quite late in the evening.
All in all a good base for a stay in a vibrant city.
Is a two star rated hotel so basic in general, but comfortable. The shower cubicles are on the small size but more than adequate. The extra you pay for the buffet breakfast is a good start to the day and has a varied selection of choices.

Basic Hotel modern rooms & freindly helpful staff
This is the second time I have stayed at the Best Hotel. It is a basic Hotel but nice and clean with modern rooms and freindly helpful staff. The area isn't that great but the metro is just outside the door so not a problem if you get back to the Hotel later in the evening. I have had a good experience on both occations at this Hotel. There is a nice Market just across the road on a Sunday.

Nice, clean, small room, basic accommodations. Tidy, next to Metro steps away, good supermarket across street. No bar soap, shampoo or conditioner. No Kleenex. Plastic glasses crack/break when you remove plastic covering. No fridge, no safe, no ice bucket. No electrical outlet in otherwise nice bathroom. You have to ask for a hair dryer at front desk. I bought a plastic bowl and sturdy inexpensive glass at supermarket, as I was there for several days. Staff was great about getting me ice from the kitchen for my bowl, as there is no ice machine for guests. The hotel was fine basic accommodations if you get it at a good price. Just bring stuff you might otherwise expect to find in other spots.

Agressive manager banging on door twice demanding checkout 5 minutes before the 11am checkout time. Room wasnt cleaned after first night either. Everything else about the hotel was fine. Neighbourhood not great.

Inexpensive hotel which has been renovated recently. Quality of the hotel and room were a nice surprise compared to the price we paid. Very easy access by metro from the railway station: three stops with yellow line and the hotel is just 10 meters apart from Gambetta station. 20 min walk to the city centre is also a pleasant choice. Breakfast for 8€ is also a bargain. The area itself is definitely not posh but safe. There's a huge market nearby on Sundays. If we would travel to Lille again we would stay here.

The information about this hotel was misleading.
We booked this hotel based on the information on Expedia-- details of location, reviews, etc. As it turned out, the hotel is located not 5 minutes from the train but 20 min. in a rather seedy part of town, not close to the city center, as stated The room was tiny-- no room for suitcases or maneuvering around the beds. Not a good choice if you want to see the city or for close proximity to the train. The staff, however, was quite helpful.

The Best Hotel Lille is very conveniently situated, having a Metro station (Gambetta), quite literally, on its doorstep. There are shops and a market really close by too.
The hotel is rather basic & the rooms quite small but it was adequate for our purposes - i.e. a base to sight-see the city and visit the Xmas market.
If travelling by car it is essential that you book a space in the hotel's u/g car park at approx € per night as street parking is extremely limited.
We did not try the hotel breakfast preferring to 'hit the town' early and there were plenty of places offering reasonably priced breakfast fare every where we went.
The hotel is rather basic & the rooms quite small but it was adequate for our purposes - i.e. a base to sight-see the city and visit the Xmas market.

The Best hotel-Lille
This place was ideally situated for a visit to my daughter who lives in the student quarter. Whenever you come out of the place you are bombarded by beggars though.This area is very impoverished and I found it difficult to avoid coughing up every time I emerged from the hotel. The parking arrangements are good and the proximity of the underground station was also handy. The best hotel is only the name of the place!

Chambres franchement limite et à rafraichir. Douche très petite. Serviettes hors d'âge. Plusieurs chambres dont le radiateur était HS et donc chauffage exclusivement via la clim (bruyant et pas efficace). Chambre globalement propre mais je n'aurais pas dû regarder sous le matelas : il a dû être trainé par terre, plein de particules de je ne sais quelle matière, plus des tâches franchement dégueux.

L'hotel est très bien à tout point de vue. Malheureusement son emplacement dans un quartier où la population maghrébine est sur-représentée est une catastrophe ! Petits trafiques à deux mètres de la porte d'entrée de l'hôtel, vendeurs à la sauvette de tabac de contrebande et de drogue, gens qui parlent très fort et vous empêchent de dormir le soir et qui vous réveillent le matin... Des types partout qui trainent, qui interpellent les femmes seules. Pas moyen pour nous de simplement entre ouvrir la fenêtre de notre chambre. Un vrai cauchemar !

Le quartier n’est pas le plus sympa de Lille… mais l’hôtel est très bien entretenu et présente des prestations classiques et de qualité. Petite chambre double. Lit confortable (sans plus). Télé ok. Coin bureau. Salle d’eau petite mais ok. Produits sanitaires bas de gamme. Petit déjeuner très bien (plutôt au dessus du reste des prestations). Accessible 24/7 grâce à une borne à l’entrée. Pas trop de bruit. Finalement un bon rapport qualité prix.
