The main problem with the lodge was the construction work near the hotel. It made the environment dirty and noisy.
For the prize of the room we were expecting something more sophisticated.

Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent amenities. Older but well maintained hotel. We had a river view room. Pool, hot tub and eucalyptus steam room at sister hotel was the best after a long day. Did the buffet on Friday at Crave restaurant. Great views, excellent food and value. Would stay here again.

We stayed at Bow View Lodge during our trip to Banff. The hotel is definitely more of an older, vintage property and could use some updates. There was ongoing construction during our stay, but fortunately it did not impact us much.

One issue we experienced was a persistent banging noise throughout the night. We reported it to the front desk and also sent a text message, but unfortunately nothing was done to address it. Thankfully, the room included a white noise speaker, which helped make the noise more manageable.

Overall, the hotel was adequate for sleeping, which was really all we needed since the focus of our trip was exploring Banff rather than spending time at the hotel. The location was a major plus, with easy access to downtown Banff and many of the area's main attractions. We also appreciated that parking was included in the price.

Considering the relatively budget-friendly rates and convenient location, we would consider staying here again despite some of the property's shortcomings.

Overall a pleasant stay. There was construction across from the hotel but it wasn't bothersome when inside. The rooms has thin walls though causing us to hear people talking. Location is close to the Bow River and Banff Canoe Docks. Short walk to Banff Ave.

The pool and hot tub is located in the sister hotel, Banff Park Lodge which is right next door, but not the same building so you have to go outside.

Fridge in room but microwave is in the common area. There is a coffee and tea station but limited variety. TV screen is on the smaller side and the hotel hallways are narrow. The bed covers are comfortable.

No Banff transit pass included.

If you get a room that looks onto the bow river it is beautiful!
We had the other side that looked onto the construction sight that the hotel left us ear plugs and sound machine which was thoughtful of them.
Pool and hot top we had no indication from the booking was in another building that you entered in an underground parking lot and then went up to the pool. Very disappointing!!
Main plug used for coffee machine didn’t work , towel rack broken .
If you were prepared for an older room with knowledge of pool in a separate building the location is lovely by the bow river

Hot tub, swimming pool & sauna are in another hotel for access so it’s not in the actual hotel. A bit misleading in that sense and the “included breakfast” is not accurate. You only get 20% off the restaurant in the hotel with the amenities, next door.

Excellent value for money in a great location- 5 minutes walk to Banff Avenue and all the bars, restaurants and shops. The decor is a little dated but the hotel and our room were clean and we found our stay to be very comfortable. Staff were always friendly and helpful and secure parking was available. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

All of the staff were friendly and provided excellent service. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean and cozy, which made our stay very relaxing.
The only minor downsides were that the toilet and sofa were a bit low, and there was only one microwave available in the hallway.
Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and would happily come back again.

Property is next to a construction site, we had mice in the room, however beyond that the room was clean, we had daily housekeeping, the staff were pleasant and helpful. I was not happy that the amenities are on the sister property across the parking lot however I thoroughly enjoyed the amenities, the steam room had eucalyptus infused and I loved the jacuzzi

This is a perfectly situated property with a beautiful view of the Bow River on the front.
If you get a back facing room, you get the parking lot, not good. The rooms are comfortable and roomy but, very dated. It was great to be able to sit on the balcony and admire the view. Overall, if you don’t care about decor, it is a good option, with parking included.

As others have mentioned, a renovation is due because the building shows its age a bit, but my stay was great overall. The room was clean and toasty warm, the staff are incredible, the hotel is removed from the main strip (so it's super quiet) but an easy walk to everything, and the view from the river side rooms are beautiful. The price is also reasonable compared to other hotels in town. Would highly recommend for anyone going to Banff.

unfortunately no microwave. had to cancel the first night because of road conditions. they said they would give up my room if i didn't call before 10am the next day to reactivate the room for the next night even though i had already paid for all nights. there was access to the sister hotel hot tub and amenities which was nice. short ten min walk to the bars!

The hotel was in a great location right on the Bow River and close to downtown with all the shops and dining options. The only negative thing was that alot of trains go through day and night and blow the horn. The hotel did provide ear plugs

The pictures in the ad aren’t accurate, there isn’t a pool onsite. You have to cross the parking lot and travel through the underground parkade to get to it. It’s an ok place to stay though.

We love this old hotel. We always get a river view and it is so worth it. Beautiful calm scene out your window and you can walk to everything! Shopping is onl a Block away and your car is parked safely underground! Great place to stay!

. On the Bow river and only 2 blocks to downtown or walk to where ever you want to go. Room was adequate and clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. Underground parking provided was an extra bonus.. only complaint would be, the TV was extremely small. But how much TV do you watch on vacation? Lol

There is easy access to ski areas via free buses to all of the big three areas. Also, this place is located right in the town so you can walk to virtually everything. The only thing you can't walk to is the hot springs in the gondola which I believe have a public bus to as well, however the hot springs has been closed for months.

Room was a good size with large bed, separate sofa & table/chairs. Decor is older style & room in good condition. Amenities included drip coffee machine, refrigerator. There was a microwave available in common area on the floor (3rd) & there was coffee/tea & water facilities in the lobby. Happy with my stay at Bow View Lodge & well suited for my visit to Banff

The best thing about this hotel is the location--it is close to most of the main downtown attractions, and beside the river with the walking path. Yet it is also in a nice quiet location. Use of the pool and hot tub at the hotel next door is included as well.

We had a very disappointing experience during our stay.

When we entered our room, there was a strong smell of smoke. I immediately brought this to the attention of the front desk and explained that my son is asthmatic, so the smell was a serious concern for us. I asked if we could move to another room. The response I received was that they could move us to another room, but that it would smell exactly the same as the one we were in, or we could move to a different room with an additional upcharge. I found this response quite concerning given the health issue I had just explained.

In addition to this, the room was extremely hot and very uncomfortable to sleep in. We attempted to adjust the temperature in the room, but despite doing so, there was no noticeable change and the room remained very warm throughout the night.

Overall, this made for a very uncomfortable stay, especially considering my son’s asthma and the lack of accommodation when we raised our concerns.

Was the perfect place to stay while in Banff. Location was great, walk to all the shops and restaurants, right in the river with views of the mountains. Guests also receive discounted Ski Big 3 lift tickets which was a great surprise.
