There was only one hot tub working during our stay. By the end of the week, that tub was closed as well. We did get in one night and it was a beautiful view from the rooftop.

Otherwise, great setup all around. Simple, but wonderful location and met our needs of 6 adults in the room for the week.

Extremely clean and comfortable rooms, spacious, having a full kitchen and two bathrooms was great. The staff were friendly. You can access the nearby parking garage without having to go outside. Well worth the money, I have no complaints, it was a very nice stay.

The property is well located, the rooms and bed a bit small. The kitchen was well stocked....a grocery and liquor store right nearby. The manager was very nice...the place was clean.
PARKING IS A MAJOR HASSLE. We’d just arrived in Banff, parked out front of the hotel and went inside to check in. We went back outside and there was an expensive parking ticket on our car. That quick. Even if we knew to pay first, the kiosk adjacent to the spot took only coins and the hourly fee was significant. We finally found a kiosk around the corner and down the street that took cards but by then, it was too late. We filed a \"grievance\" with the town hall but they declined it....
When we made the reservation a few months back, parking in the adjacent garage was reasonable which is what we'd planned to do. When we arrived it had more than doubled. Although we loved Banff, we had to organize each day of our visit around moving our car to legal spots.

We had a 2 bedroom suite which was much better than a regular hotel for 4 adults travelling together. Plenty of space, comfortable beds and everything we needed (aside from groceries) to make a few light meals during our stay. I would stay again and would highly recommend!

Can't beat the location. Clean with comfortable beds. Would definitely stay again. Rooms are small without closets but if you can get past this the location is worth the tight rooms. We parked a short walk away at the train station (free) since our truck didn't fit in the adjacent parking garage.

If you like independent travel this is great. Fabulous location - the staff cannot do enough for you. Toiletries, bin bags, etc included - easy to obtain further supplies if required. Very different to our experience in Europe.

Very small suite, just barely big enough to accommodate 4 people plus bags (2 bedroom suite). I would think twice before booking here if you plan to use the pullout sofa bed. We were constantly hitting our heads on the low bulkheads near the windows, so some caution tape in these areas would be nice. Other issues: the dishwasher didn't work properly, and the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything in the suite next door. The positives: The staff were very nice, and the room was very clean. Hot tub was also nice.

Everything was great, cute, comfy, beautiful, great location close to everything (walkable). We stayed at a two-bedroom room. Be aware if it is important for you to have vanity or shelf space in bathroom to set aside toothbrush, a few skincare bottles and small toiletry bags. There is none. One bathroom has just a pedestal sink and another has a very small vanity. We use small nightstand by bed and kitchen table for that. Parking is close by, but expensive.

Had an awesome 4-night stay at the superior 2 bedroom apartment for me and my sister. Affordable, clean, close to everything- grocery, cafes, shops, Roam bus stop, etc. But best of all, the mountain view from both our bedroom windows was SO BEAUTIFUL. The parking garage attached to Basecamp is very convenient. You can park on the floor you're staying on and enter the door from there. The only downside is the parking is $35 daily or $8/hr through a third party. (Maybe in the future, Basecamp could make some sort of deal with parking garage owner for its guests) But besides that, no complaints. Would stay here again.

We just returned home after a week in beautiful Banff. Basecamp Suites was the perfect location for our family of eight. In a matter of minutes we could be at great shopping, wonderful restaurants or a grocery store. In fact, my family told me daily what a great job I had done in choosing this hotel. We had two of the 2 bedroom 2 bath suites which were very spacious and supplied everything we needed. The Mountain views from the bedroom and living room windows were beautiful and the hot tub on the roof of the building was such fun! You had a 360 degree view of all the surrounding mountain ranges. We were there this past week and had snow the first several days which stayed around all week. Absolutely beautiful! We felt like we were living in a Hallmark movie!
As far as hiking and points of interest, everything was fairly close by and easy to get to except for driving the Icefield Parkway to the glacier and on to Jasper.
Last of all, I would like to mention how nice the staff were and that you feel very safe on this property. There are multiple times you have to use different security codes to get to your room. If ever in Banff again, we would certainly love to stay here.

Great stay! The location was very convenient with everything within walking distance. The bed was really comfortable, and we enjoyed the nice view from the window. The only downside was that the hot tub was under maintenance during our visit, but aside from that, everything was excellent.

Decent choice for Banff

We had a nice stay at the Basecamp Suites and overall this seemed a pretty good choice for Banff. We had a 2 bedroom room for a couple +1. The rooms and bathrooms were a little small but the apartment was otherwise well equipped and everything was in working order. Great central location. The price seemed extremely high, but this seems pretty par for the course when it comes to Banff, especially during peak periods. Also, the parking was hugely expensive; again seems par for the course in Banff. There is a ramp attached to the hotel, but it is not run by them and doesn't allow multiple entry so if you can avoid having to park here do so..

The unit we stayed in was a two bedroom, well taken care of and updated! Just FYI, there is no parking with the unit and you can either take your chances with street parking or the lot next door has plenty of space for $30 a day. Staff was really nice! We needed a pull out sofa and there were sheets, pillows, and comforter provided upon arrival.

The town is just next door! We went to eat every night, frequented the coffee shops, and even explored the night life! It’s a small town, but this place is right in the heart of it and super well kept. Nice and quiet too. Bit pricey on a weekend but would absolutely visit and stay again.

The access/lock system is inconvenient….prefer card key access over push pads everywhere. The TV remote didn’t work even after the battery was replaced…???? The luggage rack was bent and wobbly. The light bulb for the lamp by the sofa was burnt out. The suite was clean and beds comfortable. A 3 star experience at best!

Pros: good quality location easily walkable to all downtown sites. Situated on a relatively quiet side street. Reasonable sized accommodation in our two bed suite.
Cons: the suite contained no wardrobes or space for clothes to be unpacked other that a few rows of clothes hooks. Didn’t work well for a five night stay for a family of four.
The parking is linked to the shopping centre on the same block and is very tight to navigate for Canadian sized cars. Costs CAD 35/day so not cheap.
I had a slight problem on checking in where, unknown to me, the hotel had already charged my card 3 days beforehand, despite me having booked as ‘pay at property’ in Expedia. This led to me having to pay additional credit card fees unnecessarily

The location was the best. Next door to groceries and a liquor store. Next to the grocery store is the bus stop for the Roam bus that takes you all over Banff. Restaurants all in a 5 minute walk too, yet because Basecamp is around the corner from the restaurants it is nice and quiet. The rooftop hot tub was amazing also.

We enjoyed the location in downtown Banff, close to shops, a market, and public transit stops. Parking was $35 a day, which was pricey and difficult to park a large SUV. We also enjoyed the kitchen and space with the living room and table.

The location is fantastic! We could walk anywhere in downtown Banff quickly. Grocery is right next door. We appreciated the fully equipped kitchen so we could prepare our own breakfast and lunch. The suite was clean and modern. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone!

Bed bugs!!!! And when we got ready for bed there was hairs all over the bedding! I messaged the manager and no response. Also there is a train right outside that the horn blows every three hours 11pm, 2am and then around 6am.

The next morning my sister stepped in puke that was right down the street. Parking is 30 dollars a day. The hot tub is in a parking lot. The only good thing is location but do you really want to chance it if you get bugs lol!

Parking was an issue for us. The rate for a 24 hour period was ok, however there was no in and out privileges which made it overly expensive if you wanted to go out several times a day. Hotel needs to make arrangements with parkade owners for hotel guests to have in and out privileges. Also no handicap parking near hotel entrances from the parkade.
The accommodations themselves were excellent.

Mixed experience at Basecamp

Positives: spacious interior and good location

Negatives: no service at all; no help to answer questions or provide amenities during the stay. Everything is self service

Do not expect any service. There is no cleaning during your stay, no periodic takeout of trash, no refill of towels.

There is no front desk help. There is someone sitting at the front desk during work hours, but she will not assist you with luggage, or help you open the door, or answer any questions outside of what’s available in the website FAQ.

There is no real amenities, not even one set of bottled waters to start, no refill of tea bags or coffee, which is very disappointing.

The jacuzzi photos are misleading. It’s next to the rooftop parking lot. Also it wasn’t heated by the time we tried to use it at 7pm.

Best location for everything. You can park once and walk everywhere on and around Banff Avenue. Then if you want to leave the strip, you can just take the local bus to take you to other points of interest. Highly recommend!
