An overnight stay near the Airport Bus Terminal

The young man in reception, Bogdan, was extremely helpful and I congratulate him on how he deals with customers. He has a likeable personality and i thank him for his help.

I was disappointed at one aspect, and that was only one lift operating in one part of the hotel. My friend had to carry his suitcase and hand luggage up 2 flights of stairs.

However, I would have no hesitation on returning on the understanding that I had a room near the restaurant which didn't involve hiking up stairs with suitcases.

Nice place to sleep in Old Town Edinburgh

It's pretty basic, but clean, nice, and with very friendly and helpful staff. The location is perfect if you want to see the sights of the Old Town. Nice shower, which is important to us. Has an elevator, which is always a good thing. Hotel staff was great, very responsive, and arranged a taxi to the airport very early the morning, which was on time and reasonably priced. Only thing I'd say is the mattress was not the newest, but still we did sleep well.

I really cannot fault this place! The building is part of a superb conversion of the former offices of The Scotsman newspaper, and the conversion itself is brilliant - all the style and atmosphere of the magnificent old building, but a modern, comfortable and easy-access boutique hotel. Staff are excellent (if a little inexperienced in a few cases), always helpful and caring. Breakfast is high-standard and freshly served. Room was well equipped and spacious, well furnished, and with a decent shower bathroom. The hotel is within a few minutes walk of Princes St and Edinburgh Waverley Station - I would suggest they make more use of the designation \"The Scotsman old buidling\" in describing the location as my taxi driver had difficulty identifying the destination. All in all a very pleasant experience

Great location just off Royal Mile and 10mins walk to castle. Also close to Waverly station and Princess St. Nice rooms and bathrooms - staff very friendly and speak many languages. The bar could be better stocked and some mood lighting and music would not go amiss. Have stayed here three times since 2016 and can highly recommend - must visit to the small Italian restaurant across the road - family run with great food and staff - also lots of other restaurants around and some nice coffee shops and bars.

Hotel was modern and staff were pleasant. it was only two minutes walk from Railway Station and Xmas Markets. Never used the Bar but used the Hotel for breakfast and it was good. Breakfast was expensive but everything in Edinburgh is expensive!!

Perfect location. Friendly and helpful staff. Top floor large room with twin beds. Very warm with heating on when arrived. Unable to open windows but remained comfortable for our 3 night stay in November once heating turned right down. Bathroom had bath with shower and separate shower cubicle. Lovely reliable hot shower. Breakfast was varied with continental buffet and great choice of freshly cooked to order hot food, including smoked salmon options. Will definitely stay here on next trip to Edinburgh!

This is in a great location, very close to the royal Mile. We needed a place for our last night in Scotland before heading to airport. Needs some updating. Good size bed and clean. Walls are very think. Could hear couple next to us talking and could hear the vibration of his cell phone the next morning.

Really well located literally round the corner from Waverley rail station and 2 mins walk from the Royal Mile. Lovely staff, breakfast is £12.50 per person, buffet and cooked, recommended as very good value in a pricey city. Double walk in shower, quite a quiet street outside but there are early noises from bin collections and glass deliveries most mornings. That was the only downside as the whole experience at the hotel was top marks and I am planning to stay again next visit.

The location was only a few hundred feet from the Royal Mile which was nice. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. A king bed is actually a queen size. That is as big as you get. No A/C so left window open and asked for a fan. It was clean but sparse. No bells or whistles. One of our more expensive hotels so you must pay to be so close to th castle and such.

This hotel was in an excellent location, right off the Royal Mile midway between the Castle and Holyrood Palace, accessible to everything. There are also a good number of decent restaurants nearby. You have to look for it, about midway down Cockburn St. It's also a three minute walk to the airport bus. While the hotel was clean, quiet (though during the Festival in August the streets can be noisy) staff very helpful, and the service was excellent, the hotel does not include breakfast in their rates.

Great location makes for a noisy night

Hotel is in a great location for visiting all the sites of the Old Town, but it is next to a well-traveled Close and on a busy street. Our bedroom was right above the Close and boisterous partygoers kept us up till dawn. The rooms are Spartan and the beds uncomfortable. Pillows were, perhaps, an inch thick. For nearly $300 a night, I expected a more luxurious accommodation.

It was a great location, right around the corner of The Royal Mile. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very basic with a view of a wall. The mirror in the bathroom was so high that it could not be used unless you were over six feet tall. If you would like to take the express bus to the airport the stop was just at the end of the street.

We were given a room with no window, no air conditioning, and a child sized tiny sink. The shower had a narrow opening, a fixed Glassdoor, no water pressure, and was for disabled only, water came out only at my chest level. Room was dark,hot, stuffy. When I complained, I was given a filthy fan and told that was all they could do.

The best thing about this hotel it's location and the cleanliness, but they have an elevator and the most important for me their rooms not air-conditioned. I do not know about the breakfast menu but they start little bit late at 7:30 am which late breakfast time if you want to travel with tours in Edinburgh

The entry was a bit nondescript, a door on a street with their logo, and then an assent to the main floor for check-in (lift available), but we were welcomed nicely and the room was nicely appointed. Great restaurants and non touristy shops on street as well. 5-10 minute walk from train station. Would stay there again. Try to get room 428 or 429. Both have great views.

What makes this lodging worthy is the killer location, just steps from the Royal Mile and the airport bus stop and train station. Otherwise, it's a soul-less place with undistinguished decor, a mediocre bed, paper-thin walls and no closet or safe. The toilet is so low that it's actually disconcerting, especially in the middle of the night. We would stay again only if we had a great price.

The hotel is right in the middle of the Old Town- a great location. However, we initially missed finding it because the signage is minimal - that could be better. The hotel is pretty bare bones but nice and clean . We liked that since our room had no windows, it had a skylight which could be opened a bit for some air. The room didn’t have have air conditioning but that didn’t matter because it was so cold outside. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the hotel for its hotel class. In fact, it is pretty nice if all you want is a sleeping room close to sites which we did. We didn’t have the breakfast because we had to leave for the airport, but it wasn’t included and was expensive at 12 pounds.

We stayed here three nights at the end of our Scotland trip. The location couldn't be better- right in the middle of the tourist section between old town and new town but on a street without too much vehicle traffic. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.

The staff was very helpful. When we returned home we realized we left a bag of souvenirs in the room. The staff found it and shipped it to us in the US.

The only downside was that our rooms were on the top floor and there is no elevator serving that side of the building. But overall it was worth the walk up.

The hotel is located in a wonderful area, close to Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. The staff were very accommodating and polite, very welcoming. The hotel does not have AC and the day of arrival is was quite warm in the city so be prepared for that! We found the hotel to be very clean, wth the one exception of mold in the shower. Overall it was a wonderful experience! We would stay again!

This is a wonderful hotel right in the heart of the royal mile. No request was too much for the excellent staff, from a fan to a taxi scheduled and there exactly on time. This property is located within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and the Edinburgh castle. Could not have asked for better accomodations,cleaner rooms or a better location. Great place but weren't there long

We had just an overnight stay from a flight arriving late night to getting a train the next morning so we weren't there long. Had an amazing room with a few stairs to negotiate with a fair bit of luggage, but they were really helpful at the hotel, particularly as our flight was delayed. We went out for breakfast but it looked nice. It's a short walk to the train station and downhill so that was good! Great location if you're staying longer. Will definitely be on my radar for next time we're there.

For me a room is a room... as long as its clean, somewhat modern and has friendly staff then I'm happy. This place has that.
Where it really shines is location. You're seconds away from the prime tourist spots in the city. For no other reason, i give it 5 stars on location alone.

Our stay at the Inn Place was fine. However, I had reserved a King bed and only received a Queen--was told the sizes are different in Scotland, so as a compensation, the receptionist gave us a complementary breakfast our two mornings at the Inn.

I was only there for one night. When booking through expedia, it said I would check in around 3am but I actually didn't arrive there until about noon. Although given the extra time, my room was not ready for me when I came to check in. Although that's not too big of a deal. Finding my room was easy but the hallways were crowded with cleaning equipment left about messily.
The room was exactly like the pictures and was perfectly cozy! It was a good size and the bathroom was beautiful. One other problem though and this scared me - someone entered my room while I was there. Which led me to wonder three things: 1) All keycards can access all hotel rooms? 2) It was a staff member who forgot they gave someone that room... 3) What if I wasn't there when that person came? They could have stolen my belongings. Needless to say that when I was in the room, I had bolted/locked the door (even though it's supposed to be key card protected).
Overall, the aesthetic and the room of the hotel was nice. It was in a beautiful location, right by the royal mile and surrounded by quaint shops! However the security and wondering who else was going to walk in was a bit disconcerting.
