The rooms were clean, comfortable and had amazing views. The living room/dining room combo was a great place to hang out before heading to bed. The location was perfect, close to all of old town and right off the Royal Mile. Add to that, the locker luggage storage was most welcome before and after checkout.

The site manager was super helpful and quick to respond. The rooms were very warm despite the outside temperature and the water was extremely hot so showers were delightful. The stairs were a challenge but good cardio workouts.

Clean, neat and accessible to bus drop off and train station. Greggs, covenience shops and other eateries are around the areas as well. As the accomodation entrance is not very obvious, so be careful not to miss it especially when we arrived, it was raining heavy and dark in the evening. Thanks

Great location. It's very close to the Royal Mile and other attractions and lots of food and shopping near. The room was very clean, easy in/out and spacious. It's a busy area, so expect a bit of noise at night.

Not a safe area. Drunk people at entrance way. Tight stairway with NO elevator. Extremely difficult to bring luggage to third floor. Not clean washroom with seems to be blood stain at all toilet rolls. Small rooms with no head room. Overall poor conditions. Strongly NOT recommended at all.

ThIs property was centrally located for walking all over old town. There was a bus station right outside the door which would have been handy but we enjoyed the weather and walked all over. The only suggestion I would make which is a tiny one...door stops would be handy. All the doors are big thick doors and they are on spring hinges so they close automatically. Thanks for a great stay!

Great location but expect a bit of noise because it’s located in a busy area. Lots of good shopping and dining options. Reception staff were helpful and communicated well Shower was quite fussy to adjust and the temperature varied a lot -made it challenging to shower comfortably.

Flat was clean and had great amenities ( i.e. fridge, kitchen, shower). However it was too hot even with the windows opened it was still 29C. The bedroom had a good sized fan. The room with the sofa bed was only made bearable by the other fan but it was still too small.

Great space for the price. Comfortable, spacious, and well located. However, the apt was very warm since you cannot open any windows and it was 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit when I was there. Thankfully, they provided a fan which I had running 24/7 when I was there.

Great area for people watching. Small grocery store next door was great! Beds were awful. Shower had something resembling mold. Shower floor caving in. Water didn’t drain completely and always felt like we would fall through at any moment. Bus stop at the front door, although convenient, always had to fight a crowd to get in or out the door. The stairs to the room were crazy. 49 stairs with huge suitcases was just too much. This would be a great little place for a night or two. I spent 10 nights and it was just too long to go without sleep because of the beds. I cannot stress enough how bad the beds were. And the lack of clean linens and towels was unacceptable.

Location was very good. Close to many tourist attractions which is the positive feedback. While we understood there was no elevator, we did not know what specific room we would be in at the time of booking, and found out the night before we were on a top floor unit. We had to haul our luggage up 60 stairs which was difficult. Also, as there was no air conditioning in the suite resulting in the windows needing to remain open all night to get some air flow, and being so close to the tourist areas, the noise from people on the street / bars / restaurants was constant and made it impossible to get any sleep. It was still very noisy at 3:30am. Even with the ear plugs that were left for us to use (which was a kind gesture) no one in our group of 5 got much sleep. Fortunately, we were only there for one night due to our travel schedule because i dont think we could have done another night there.

The suite was great and had lots of room for myself and two grown daughters. I always love having a kitchen and this had everything we could possibly need. Even though it was quite warm when we were there the suite wasn’t too hot but could be if it got hot as only one window opened up a bit in the kitchen. We were on the top floor and had large suitcases which would be very difficult to get up if we were older or had mobility issues (my daughters had to carry the bags up). Even without baggage the stairs were quite the climb. The location was perfect. Walked out to the street in Old district with a full array of restaurants, shops, and pubs. A short walk to the Castle and train station. Would recommend!!!

Family trip with our 4 year old. we enjoyed the location in the heart of Old Town. It was noisy at night but we were prepared for that. They also provided ear plugs if needed. Good amount of space and nice kitchenette and accessories. Bed was quite hard. No AC so we kept windows open while we were gone during the day. Closed them at night since it was noisy. Still got quite hot overnight. Very heavy doors for each room and only 1 door stop.

There are bus stations right outside the door which makes it very loud and unsafe to go in and out. Lot of homeless people staying outside very loud drunk people roam at night. Street cleaning which is very loud. Poor ventilation. No lift mind you have to carry your bags up the stairs.

We liked our Mono Suites stay. It was located right in the center of most things, and there was a convince shop next door which was nice.
The bed's mattress was very very stiff and I would recommend they replace it with something more comfortable. I'd also recommend a countertop next to the sink so you can use the toiletries in the bathroom.

A horrible incident happened during my three-night stay. The fire alarm started twice at about 8pm on my last night. At the time, I was packing luggage for next morning leaving. I reported the incident immediately to the management with nervous and shocking feeling. I wasn’t given a proper reason for what had happened. It sounded like I was made it up and there was nothing happening. I didn’t sleep that night and felt so sick in the airport the next day. Edinburgh is a wonderful city, but Mono Suites will remain the unpleasant experience in my memory.

We had a minor maintenance issue so I text the Mono Suites team and it was resolved very promptly - impressed by communication and attention.
It’s all code numbers for access, so no need for a card which is a bonus. There’s also lockers at the main entrance so if you check in or out before given time you can store luggage. Really good idea.

Suite had a good location and nice set-up. Good instructions for access. Two major problems though - firstly there was a very bad odour from in the bathroom and as the door was a fire door, it was impossible to keep open to ventilate it. Secondly and this was the major issue, the window in the main bedroom was poorly sealed and as it faced out to a bar / club, that was open until 3am, it was incredibly noisy. My wife and I barely slept before 3am. Whilst ear plugs were provided, neither of us sleep well with them in.

Room is very spacious with separate living area with kitchenette and a bedroom. Double sofa bed in the living room. Bathroom is big and clean. Check in was a breeze with pin code of entrance way and room door sent to phone prior to arrival. Location is fantastic. Only gripe is the noise from late night merrymakers in the bars nearby which can can be heard from room facing main road. Ear plugs helped

We stayed in unit 21. Very loud from traffic and Pedestrian traffic. Buses run very late and there is a bus stop immediately outside the entry. People always blocking the entrance.

Stayed in suite 31, 4th floor of the building. Lounge was large and a great space. Both bedrooms had sloping roofs making it really hard to get in and out of bed. Likely very little they can do to make this better, sadly it didn't make for easy or comfortable night trips to the bathroom. Kitchen had all you could need and TV worked well as did the WiFi. Flat was exceptionally hot and couldn't get out cooler. Heating was off. Had to keep windows open to make it cooler, this also made it very loud at night. Overall we slept badly. Cleaner was very friendly and helpful when we saw her. Location is great for city centre, however bus stop outside which made entrance very busy.

The property is located on a high affluent area in a walking distance from most of the city landmarks. There is plenty of public transportation to serve the visitor. Negative points: the rooms are extremely noisy, there is no soundproofing which is a shame. Sound proof windows could be installed rather than provide useless ear plugs. The check in was frustrating as the manager claimed codes for the door were provided through email. It clearly did not happen and I had to make an international phone to get them. The staff is available during limited hours of the day 9 to 4pm. If the proposal was to function as air bnb type, the supplies provide are mediocre to say the least. Cutlery, condiments are of low quality and in limited amounts. Not sure why this property is listed as 4-star seems u realistic and misleading. If you are looking for parties, you have no kids.

This property was great for us. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was quick to reply with any questions or issues and was extremely helpful. When we noticed the shower was clogged and couldn’t drain at 8:30pm on Sunday, once we called/messaged they sent someone over within 20 minutes. The fixed the problem right away as. We were all showering by 9:30. There is a lot of stairs you have to walk up and the ceiling on the 3rd floor is low so be prepared for that. The kitchenette was very clean and well appointed and we loved the location

I’d love to give this 5 stars but I can’t. The room itself was lovely. A bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette with living room where the pull out couch was. Conveniently located near the royal mile. But that’s where the niceties end. The street it is on is insanely loud at night. It’s directly across from a nightclub so it is constant shouting, and loud people at all hours of the night. The hotel provides ear plugs if that’s any warning and they do not help. It is also tucked away inconveniently behind a bus stop so it’s difficult to maneuver to the front door. Not to mention we were up 4 flights of stairs with no elevator so we had to carry all 4 of our heavy luggage up many flights of stairs. The bed is so unforgivingly hard you can move on one side and not feel it on the other. The pull out couch sagged about 6 inches from the head to the feet portion. Again, the hotel itself was nice, very clean and beautiful. But 3 sleepless nights due to noise and comfort of the beds dropped the rating of this one for me
