It was closed your Pic was from a year ago it is covered in scaffolding and not open for 6 months
I paid in advance and had to pay again at a sister Hotel (Raddisson) who demanded £2900. when I had pd over £3400 to Expedia.
When can I expect my money back ?
Overall a disaster by Expedia No info on change of hotel and you still advertise the one I booked as open ???

Disappointing, we booked for radisson collection and received a call day before saying due to building work we were being moved to radisson blu, we were told our room would be upgraded 2 levels to a premium and we would get free parking so thought that was reasonable. My expectations for what we paid were pretty high, over £400 for 2 nights inc breakfast, What we got was distinctly average and no where near worth what we paid. The room was cold, dark and very dreary, no remote for TV, no milk for tea/coffee, no mini bar, no walk in shower, just a bath with shower in it. Staff at reception were pleasant and friendly so no fault there at all. Breakfast again disappointing, had to send back as it was cold for reheating! We paid extra for breakfasts but were so disappointed on the Saturday we went elsewhere on the Sunday! I’m honestly not one for complaining and had we only paid maybe £100 -£150 it would have been ok, however for what we paid s it was so disappointing, would not recommend at all!

Stay in Raddisson Blue when booked at Collection h

To whom it may concern,
I booked your 5 * Collection hotel in Edinburg for a high price, without realising that as the NHS worker I have a discount. I was advised that I could get an upgrade due to this and rebooked again. Then I was told that your Collection hotel will be still closed at the time of my stay. So I was rebooked at the Radisson Blue, which was disappointing in itself as this is 4* hotel. I was promised further upgrade if available. The hotel was empty on the day if our arrival. I asked reception for the promised upgrade but was told that this was already done. The room was a suit, which I was promised initially but see the photos below please. Stains, scratches, really not something that you expect when you intend to stay in a 5* hotel and especially when you pay for it! Disappointing even more knowing that the hotel was empty and closed for long periods of time due to SARS-CoV2 pandemic and at least stains could of been cleaned!

Everything was perfect. Reception Staff were friendly and very helpful even when I collected my car from the sister hotel Radisson Blu car park. The room and location were excellent. Breakfast and the lady in the breakfast room were lovely. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

Everything was fantastic, the staff were great. They were so helpful, attentive and friendly, anything you needed they got it. The cleanliness of the rooms and public bathrooms in the hotel were outstanding really surprised in the best way possible. The beds were comfy, you can cast Netflix and Spotify to the tv so you are always entertained in the room. 10/10 stay and will definitely be visiting again.

Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Bed and rainfall shower were particular highlights. Location was perfect for a city centre break with little to no noise from outside heard.
Reception staff were polite and helpful as were waiting staff in restaurant. The only improvement that could be made would be that service at breakfast was a little slow but staff were keen to apologise and rectify this when it was raised.

Great hotel, great location.

Beautiful hotel in an ideal location for exploring Edinburgh. Check in was friendly and quick. Our room was on the third floor overlooking Victoria Street. Very quiet. A small room but with plenty of space and good storage. The bedside tables are rather low but we found we adjusted to this. Bathroom is lovely with a fabulous walk in shower with rainfall head. Felt very high end. Super comfortable beds with soft linen, good pillows and a duvet that was cosy but not heavy. Air conditioning in the room was a bonus. Car parking was at the Radisson Blu hotel resulting in a short walk up the Royal Mile. Covid meaures were good throughout the hotel but meant that the bar was not open for evening drinks. Not major but would’ve been nice to relax with a drink in the evening without having to leave the hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely be back.

Our stay was very good as we should have been on a cruise for my husband’s 60th but this was cancelled due to Covid. The hotel was excellent & in a prime location for the Castle & the Royal Mile. The only negative was the main restaurant & bar was closed, which would have been good to know in advance as we then had to go out each night for dinner and we had planned to stay in the hotel for meals

Lovely hotel but we booked this hotel as it had a nice bar, so if we had any problems accessing the local bars due to Covid 19 we would have somewhere to go. Unfortunately when we arrived to check in we were told the bar was closed by could use the Radisson Blu bar, this was disappointing but not a problem! Come 1930 we were struggling to access local bars so went to the Radisson Blu bar to be told that it was full and could not get a drink. I appreciate that during these times (Covid19) things are very different but if we had been told the bar would be closed we would of chosen another hotel. We also booked breakfast in the hotel for the Sunday morning which was lovely and very well organised but were then charged for 4 breakfasts instead of 2, which has now been refunded. We have used the Radisson hotel on numerous occasions without any problems but were very disappointed on this occasion.

Hotel is really nice however the lady at check in was pretty disinterested. No personality and didn’t give us any information about staying at the hotel. Room was really cool and comfortable.
The buffet continental breakfast was really good but the cooked breakfast was terrible - didn’t get our toast, brought the wrong eggs and everything was cooked like cardboard.
Pretty disappointing.
Overall the hotel is really nice, great location but service an food pretty poor.

The room was not cleaned properly. Very poor standard of cleanliness for a 5 Star.
Property was under taking building works.
When you walk to breakfast the building site is opposite the dining floor. Very dusty.
I paid for breakfast for my partner and I the night previous and when we arrived at breakfast we were held up and embarrassed by staff saying you haven’t paid.
If you are going to run a 5 Star hotel, you need to work on communication skills, standard of service and etiquette.

I’ve no idea how this can be considered a 5 star property - even as a 4 star it would seem a stretch:
- restaurant under refurbishment so there’s a room set up that better resembles a canteen and served a burnt and dried out cooked breakfast
- no lounge to sit in all morning so options were a room that had no means of fresh air so had a damp/drainage smell coming from the bathroom or the lobby
- TV switches off if you change the channel more than 4/5 times in a row
- rooms are more like a traveloge/ibis with just a bit of extra colour
To be fair, the staff did try to be helpful - they just had limited tools at their disposal

Great hotel in the centre of town on the Royal Mile, Edinburgh
Check in and check out was reasonable and staff were very friendly. Rooms were very functional could probably do with more hanging space.
Breakfast was good and the Epicurean Bar had some decent cocktails.
We stayed for Hogmanay and whilst busy didn't feel overwhelmed or rushed. We would definitely stay here again. stayed.

Room very clean and comfortable but we booked a city view on Hotels.com and were given one overlooking scaffolding at the back they said this was a Hotels.com fault not theirs as they hadn’t been requested
Great location and lovely bar and restaurant but the breakfast was poor unfortunately, full Scottie consisted of one sausage and one slice of bacon, they sat us on a long table of 6 other guests we didn’t know which felt a little uncomfortable and by Monday they ran out of sausages apparently ? !
Hey ho plenty of places to eat in the city, overall a pleasant stay but quite pricey.

I came to Edinburgh to celebrate my birthday. I made that known when I made my reservation as well as upon check in. A lot of hotels will at least acknowledge a guest on their birthday, but I received no such thing. I checked in around 5:00pm and was told that my room was not quite ready, but after my payment was taken all of a sudden the room was ready. I was also given a wheelchair-accessible room (I am not in a wheelchair), so everything, including the sink, was low to the ground. I hurt my back every time I washed my face or brushed my teeth. I received no housekeeping (although I didn't need it), but no one stopped by. I also discovered a shampoo bottle from a previous guest in my shower. I will say the hotel is in a great location, easy walk to shops, restaurants, and public transportation.

We booked in for three days with friends, 31st November to 2nd December. Problems we encountered: The fact that £50 was taken off our credit card per day without being informed. There was definitely a staff shortage, for breakfast the first day we had to wait an hour and deal with abrupt waitress service. We highlighted this to the management team and thankfully service improved although breakfast was still not up to standard. We went to have an evening drink in the bar and we had to clear a table to sit down, all the tables required clearing as it looked like the aftermath of a party. We ordered drinks and we’re informed they had run out of tonics and it was only 9.30/10.00 in the evening. On our second day, the rooms had not been cleaned. I had to request for more toiletries and towels. My husband and I were very disappointed in this hotel and we would hesitate to book into another Radisson hotel.

I did not like the fact that I hung a Do Not Disturb sign on my door when we left for 2 days to visit the Highlands, and when we came back someone had entered our room and left a fan in it. This is troublesome. Do not disturb means NO ONE enters the room. It is not a recommendation. It is a matter of SECURITY. The security of my room was breached. Unacceptable!! Also, whichever room needed the fan did not get it. That does not speak well of their service

Nice room, early check in, staff very friendly and accommodating. Only downside for us was breakfast. 20 minute walk in line to be seated, then realised very few vegetarian options. Hot food is menu ordered only and exceptionally pricey (Vega option was sweet waffles) £12.95. Cold items were cereals, average pastries and cold meats. Orange juice was also from concentrate then watered down with a lot of ice added. I’m sure some people would really enjoy the breakfast, it wasn’t for us. Rest of the stay was great.

Oh - and the spa is in the other hotel down the road. I booked a massage and found out it wasn’t actually in the hotel. That was probably made clear on the website but I didn’t realise there were two hotels.

Stayed during my short trip in Edinburgh, our group booked 6 rooms. Situated in the Royal Mile (tourist spot). Very close to Edinburgh Castle.

Seems like due to the spot this is a very touristy hotel and always has full rooms.

They need to fix the lift since only 1 out of 2 lift working, which can be quite a queue when there's just a large group arrive and need to use the elevator to go up with just one lift.

The card key is very problematic somehow for us. Each time either of us (including the other room that I book) need to get in the room the card key is not working. Even worse once we had to go up and down twice since the card key is not working even after we ask the card to be 'fixed'.

There's no parking on site but can park at Radisson Blu which is around the other end of the Royal Mile, about 400 meters or so?

I suggest if possible request for a room that is under the F50 (F for floor) the further room can be too much hassle since you need to go down several steps. Wouldn't complain on stairs normally but since I carry a toddler with stroller yes it's a tad annoying.

At the beginning was offered inaccessible room which is from the front office explanation it seems like room for disabled?

I was given a quite unique room with wooden ceilings (possibly it's old Scotland style) no lights on the ceiling so the room is very dark. However on the other rooms are rather normal for hotel

Phoned ahead to ask about parking, member of staff didn’t really know, on arrival had to then drive to other hotel and then walk back, why no valet parking? Room was small but ok, main issue we experienced was arriving back at 11.45. To find hotel bar closed, on a Friday night? Saturday at same time it was open but when staff member eventually came to take our order we were told they were closing and this would be our only drink, seems hotel is run by the staff for the staff! On the Sunday when we checked out it was poring with rain, had to walk to other hotel, then go to their reception to validate car parking, then drive around to go pick up our bags. The 5 star rating of this hotel seems optimistic at best, not enough staff who care, extremely poor parking facilities, if you have visited other Edinburgh 5 star hotels before you will not have the same experience I am sure, this is the first negative review I have left on Expedia but I felt unwelcome at this hotel.

The hotel is right on the corner of the Royal Mile and George IV Bridge. This puts it within easy walking distance of most of the sights and shopping in Old Town. Except for a problematic elevator (key cards had to be inserted multiple times to get it to work) the hotel was clean and in very nice condition.

After staying in truly excellent Radisson Blu Dubai, I selected Radisson again for Edinburgh. I learned Radisson properties are independently owned and not consistent. Here are the issues encountered:. 1) only one of the 2 elevators worked all week. 2) card reader in working elevator took five for more swipes to work. 3) shower doesn't have a door and when using rainfall ceiling option, water goes all over floor so I only used the handheld 4) toilet button gets stuck and keeps flushing so need to repeatedly jiggle button to get it to stop 5) bottled water was provided for two days and then stopped. After a long day on a walking tour, I called the front desk for water and was told water only provided for first day and I can go to the LOBBY for a glass of water 6) angry doorman barks at guests if the lobby water spigot drips. 7) when using expedia you don't earn Radisson points. Clearly the issues above do not \"exceed expectations \" that Radisson likes to boast about. This hotel is one of the most expensive in Edinburgh. It wasn't worth it as there was absolutely no value add - I never experienced in years of trraveling being told no for some bottled water and to go down to the lobby. For future travels, I won't select Radisson.

Great location

Nice hotel but I reserved a King bed and got a double size. I didn’t complain it was fine but that seems like a hotels.com issue.
Also there was no concierge! I asked at front desk and the 12 year old receptionists said they were ‘all concierges’. Then proceeded to give me lame advice they clearly had no clue.

Great location and friendly staff. Modern with decently sized rooms. Our room needed some work. The floors were spongy due to some water seepage or similar and the restaurant isn’t the best - although the staff is good.

Also, their website says parking - there is not any parking on site. You’ve got to hoof it down the hill to their sister hotel.

This isn’t a 5 * hotel to me - it’s on par with a Hilton garden inn or similar.

Excellent location. Very helpful staff . Nice amenities in a clean well kept hotel. My only suggestion would be to ask for fresh milk to use with the beautiful coffee machine rather than that awful UHT . Minor point only .
