I’ve been to Mexico City multiple times, and this was my favorite hotel I’ve stayed at. The location is unbeatable—right on the north end of Parque México, on a quiet, tree-lined street, yet steps away from tons of bars and restaurants.

The hotel staff was amazing, especially Giselle, who even put balloons in the room for my partner’s birthday!! The hotel also provided complimentary water and snacks, and the bed was incredibly comfortable.

The bathroom was stocked with Molton Brown soap and even a loofah, which is extremely rare in hotels.

Keep in mind that the rooms aren’t the largest, but that’s pretty standard for the area.

The AC was good and the staff was very helpful. The room was serviced daily. There was no fan in the bathroom and the grouting needs to be replaced. It looks grungy. The carpets are in need of a deep clean. There’s no little fridge in the room which is most inconvenient.The lamp shades are rather dirty. There is no dining area. No great shops nearby but adequate restaurants if you like pastries and pizza. Overall we wouldn’t stay again. The nearby Mexico is beautiful.

The room had a mold issue with the closet having a very strong smell and the bathroom have spots on the ceiling and poor patching from previous repair attempts.

What a lovely boutique hotel. The neighborhood is picturesque and as a female traveler I felt extremely safe walking in this area. The staff were attentive and very helpful. Very conveniently located for the activities I wanted to do. The bed is very comfortable - I also took the executive suite with a terrace which was quite cute. Keep in mind the 2 terrace rooms share a balcony with plants providing privacy. Amenities are included but coffee is only available at no charge on the first day. They can supply but you have to request and it is an additional charge. No tea available in the room. Wi-Fi is pretty decent (I had to take a couple zoom calls and they did not drop) All in all an exceptional first time stay in Mexico. My compliments to the general manager, Antoine, and his staff

Our room was decent size, air conditioner went down 1 night, it was promptly fixed, and gave us a free breakfast for the trouble.

Beautiful little boutique hotel in a fantastic location, right across the street from the pretty Parque Mexico in Condesa. We stayed in the executive suite on the top floor with a spacious terrace. The room was very stylish and comfortable. Free wi-fi but it was a little spotty. Note there is no fridge in the room.

THIS is the place to stay in Mexico City!

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience while in Mexico City for 7 days. The hotel is in a perfect location - the city is huge, so a lot of our adventures weren’t walkable but Hippodrome is in a great spot in Condesa that is easily navigable on foot and Uber pick up points.

The rooms are clean and well appointed (bottles of water refilled everyday was a nice thing to come back to after hours out in the city in the very upper eighties). Clean!

The highlight, though, is the staff. Everyone on the team is friendly, helpful, and they really take the time to understand your schedule to make sure you have everything you need. The travel suggestions were beyond helpful (tips on how to get to places, the best times to go, and additional ideas on what to see in the city). A great group of people who are truly hospitality professionals in every way.

Amazing hotel- ask and you will receive- we tried for a month to get tickets for the Gilardi house with no luck, Antoine got them for us, he’s amazing and definitely wants you to enjoy yourself in Mexico City! Very accommodating, knowledgeable, friendly, I really can’t say enough good about this hotel. Location is beautiful and the breakfast from the gastronomico are fantastic! We enjoyed everything about this stay- rooms are super comfortable, good AC, comfortable bed. Stay here, you won’t be disappointed. Antoine made it a great visit for us.

A true gem in the heart of Codesa

We loved our stay here in every respect. The hotel is charming with beautiful Art Deco features and perfectly located in the heart of Condesa next to a beautiful park and shops, restaurants, bars. Those qualities alone made it a wonderful stay. But what made it truly exceptional was the professionalism, courtesy, and service of the entire staff. From the manager Antoine Kourdi to the reception desk staff, doormen, and maids, they provided first class service -- whether asking for restaurant recommendations to arranging day trips w guides and car service. I have travelled widely around the world and stayed in many fine hotels but none have impressed me as much as this boutique hotel. It is a gem.

Great hidden little art deco gem in Condesa!

Great little hotel in Condesa! It reminds me of NYC hotels that pack a lot in little spaces. Yes, the rooms are small, but you don't really feel it. Besides, the neighborhood is so cute that you will be spending most of the time outside. The front desk people were super friendly and helped us with the many questions and the many requests we had. Truly a great experience.

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. DO NOT STAY HERE.
- Dark, dingy, and musty
- Walls are paper thin & noise from other guests can be heard in surround sound
- AC didn't work & the only window in the room opened to a tiny concrete lightwell with no ventilation. The room was hot & stuffy.
- Mosquitoes & cigarette smoke came in the room when the window was open.
- During our stay the hotel underwent a full-scale fumigation. All surfaces were soaked with a naphthalene/moth ball-smelling chemical. The toxic fumes were so strong we were nauseous, lightheaded and feared for our health & safety. The hotel staff refused to make any accommodations for the odor, so we checked out of the hotel. The manager is not onsite and won't take our calls, so we are still attempting to obtain a refund for 6 of the 9 nights that we were unable to stay over a month later.

I booked this reservation in USD. Upon checking in (in the middle of the night), I was presented with an invoice in local currency. I felt under duress since it was the middle of the night and signed the invoice. The next morning, I did the math and checked my credit card and was charged ~$124 more than my booking confirmation. I tried to talk to someone several times about this. About a week after checking out, the hotel wired me a net $85 (after additional fees). I disputed this with hotels.com and my credit card company to no avail. Other than that, the hotel was average. Good location, good service but loud, no coffee available until 8:00. Very disappointed in how all parties handled this. I clearly had a reservation with a confirmation in USD. Neither the hotel nor hotels.com stood behind that confirmation. To top it off, hotels.com sends me a message saying that they negotiated on my behalf and the charges would be reversed. Wrong again!

The neighborhood is great, there’s a restaurant onsite and a bar next door, with creative cocktails and natural wines. In spite of this, the room was quiet. Big bathroom, excellent storage. Lots of filtered water provided daily. It’s a wonderful location if you want to be walkable to nightlife and the metro, but to stay in a quiet oasis. The staff are very kind and helpful.

I seriously hurt myself because the floors in the lobby were left wet with soapy water. The receptionist saw this happen and later saw how hurt I was. I asked to speak to a manager, but no one contacted me. Just based on this, I think you run an unsafe and poorly managed hotel.

Horrible stay at this Hotel. We reserved for 1 night only between flights to get to know Mexico City. When we arrived at the hotel, receptionist mentioned they were having a problem with the water and it would only take 1 hour to fix it. After 4 hours we returned to the hotel to take a shower (after a 8 hour flight) and there was no hot water. We called a few times to the receptionist they mentioned they were fixing it. It was 10:30pm already and we had to wake up at 3:30am next day. We gave up and slept. Next morning at 3:30am there was no water at all, you couldnt even brush your teeth or flush the toilet. Horrible experience and the only thing I heard from them was “we are really sorry”. Nothing was done. I wish this was an one off event but I would check before going.

GREAT hotel in a GREAT neighborhood - will be back

This hotel has beautiful design and EXCELLENT service. Antoine is the manager. He and his staff were there to assist with many things during our stay to make our time in the neighborhood as guests easier and when issues came up with the room the hotel staff addressed them quickly and did not make us feel bad for raising them. That's professionalism.

There is also a great Isreali cafe on the ground floor which is a great extra feature of this please.

Lastly this hotel has beautiful art deco design in the midst of a BEAUTIFUL neighborhood. A+

I liked everything about the hotel except that there was noisy building work across the street 8am-6pm. This was true in just about every place i stayed in Mexico, but Hippodorme was the last straw. I got a plane flight out after a few hours.

Also: There was an electronic hum under the floors that rose through the bed. VERY annoying.

No one in hotel management ever seems to notice these problems. They made me crazy.

There was construction happening across the street so it was a little noisy in the day and there were some issues with hot water and toilets flushing properly. Great old Deco building in a quiet and green neighborhood in walking distance to the best of Condesa and Roma Norte. Terrific staff. Our room with the terrace was definitely worth the upgrade. Continental breakfast is basic for sure, but the staff's willingness to bring it up to your room means you can lounge about a little in the morning.

I liked the art deco design of the rooms and the common areas
Staff and management were totally inadequate.
Because I didn't fit in the tiny queen size bed and I asked for a room with a king size bed. They made me paid the upgrade in full and it was higher than the expedia rate but Because of their \"policy\" it was not possible to cancel the old reservation and make a new one though Expedia.
It could be a great place but...........

This property is situated amongst an incredible number of restaurants and cafes. There is a Butter service available 24 hours. The property is small and with a two person lift that took some getting used to. We had a tour in which we needed to be in another hotel and a staff member actually accompnaied us personally.

It’s a very cute boutique hotel, but a little bit claustrophobic for me, since it’s very tight and small, stairs are tight and dark, the elevator is super small. Only 3 rooms per floor, doors are very close together. So it’s not for me but it could be very good for others since it’s very private. Rooms are comfortable and modern. Service is great!

A beautiful boutique hotel in a great neighbourhood! We were so impressed by the service at the Hippodrome and would gladly stay again. Our check-in was smooth, the rooms are small but well-designed and beautifully appointed with a great rain shower, nice products, a comfy bed, a television with Netflix access, and AC. Included with our room was 2 drinks per day and a continental breakfast (coffee, fruit, and a pastry) in the morning. They also brought filtered water and some little snacks to our room each day which was a nice touch. Could not have wished for a better location. Safe, beautiful and clean neighborhood. Ideal for long walks. Beautiful parks and tree-lines streets. Lovely shops. GREAT restaurants. We fell in love with Mexico Cuty and would return to the Hippodrome in a heartbeat.

Pretty good service, a few hiccups here and there including availability of amenities (broken elevator, lack of water) & a not-so-great checkout experience (almost missed our flights), but a nice, quaint place nonetheless. It's in a nice neighborhood too. You may be able to find somewhere else with better bang-for-your-buck though.

The incredible staff was very friendly right from check in to check out. The rooms are trendy and the hotel is located in a very nice part of town close to good restaurants and lots of trail to walk.

Great location. Great rooms and amenities. Love free access (plus free bottles of water) to the neighborhood gym, Qi. Staff was a little slow to remedy issues. They never fixed the semi-clogged bathroom drain. It took 24 hours to get a blanket.
