Room was great, nice decor. We were greeted with a welcome drink which was appreciated. Lots of coffee and tea in the room.
Great location to easily access Royal Mile out the back way.
I would recommend staying here.

Room was great. Breakfast was one of the best we've had at a hotel. Location was spot on for the train but also for the royal mile. The only downside was check in. The staff were not very friendly and it was awkward to find our room. We were told to go down this way to find floor 4. There was a lift but it only went to rooms up to 432. Luckily a bar staff member told us we had to walk another 30 seconds around into the new building works area to find a second lift. There was no signs or anything to say this so i feel the reception staff should be telling people this. Overall a really good stay and would stay again.

This property was outstanding and really centrally located. The room layout was perfect for my family (2 adults and 1 teen). The hotel was charming with a great vibe, staff very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was excellent with lots of options before heading out to explore the city. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again if ever back in the city. It's a great choice and great value.

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, but it has a perfect location close to everything and offers beautiful views. The concierge and restaurant staff during breakfast were spectacular and treated us like royalty. We truly loved our stay.

My only suggestion is that the hotel should inform guests in advance that it is under construction, as some areas can be noisy during the day. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience, and we would gladly return.

Very convenient location with decently sized rooms, a very good breakfast and a remarkably comprehensive gym. Staff were excellent and helpful. Only issue is that some areas look a bit work but it seems a renovation is underway. Perhaps related to that, one of two main elevators was not in service but at least the elevator operating was large and fairly fast so no major queues.

Location is excellent. 1 minute walk up some stairs and you are in the Royal Mile.
Hotel was well maintained, but undergoing some construction, presumably to improve the landscaping which would be nice.
One of the elevators did not work for the 3 days we were there which caused a wait a couple times.
Overall, if the construction was completed and the elevator was working, it would have been very good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Leondaro Royal Hotel. My partner and I were visiting Edinburgh for the very first time and we were travelling via train, the location of the hotel was perfect! Just a 5 minute walk and we were there. The lobby was stunning, we were greeted by the lovely staff at Reception and were even offered a complimentary glass of Prosecco each on arrival. The room itself, 708 specifically, was stunning. It felt really modern and clean and the view was incredible. As it was my birthday, the hotel had even arranged a card for me and a very generous chocolate bar too, which really was the cherry on the cake! We’d definitely stop here again.

Perfect location across the street from Waverly train station and near closes for easy climb to Royal Mile. Staff were warm and friendly, especially Cass at the front desk. Highly recommend signing on for breakfast! The buffet has massive choices. Beds and pillows so comfy.

We got a room on the 8th floor and the elevator got to the 7th floor. No one helped us get our bags up to the room (we had two large suitcases and two carry-on) my husband hada. Cast in mis arm and this was very very unfortunate that hotel staff did not help with this. Everytime we called for room service we got several diferent answers so they was pretty annoying. Other than that, the room was very comfortable and clean.

The best part about the hotel is the location as it’s right next to the Waverley train station. Our view out the window was also great; we could see the Nelson monument as well as the neo-classical half finished Parthenon type structure.

The hotel room itself was a bit weird. The bed was jammed against the wall so there was really only one side you could get in on. The TV was set up for casting but I couldn’t get it to work and I’m in tech. Perhaps something wrong with our specific TV which was not connected to the internet. The worst part of the room was the bathroom. For some reason we got a disabled bathroom which made showering feel like prison experience. Last thing was our 3 day booking came with a welcome bottle of sparkling wine. We never got it so after a day thinking about it I finally had to chase it down at reception. Sure enough, it was part of the booking and the staff brought it up to our room with glasses which was great, but I’d rather have gotten it when we checked in.

The hotel is in a very good location to tour Edinburgh. The front desk staff was very helpful, even letting us change rooms when we had an issue. Breakfast was very good and the fitness center was good.
We never received the complimentary bottle of wine that was mentioned on Expedia when I booked nor was I offered an upgrade.

We loved the hotel. The location was convenient. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful. Two minor complaints: 1 - the room was too dark. Definitely needed more lighting; and 2 - our drain in the shower kept filling up and we had to turn the shower off so that it wouldn’t overflow.

Would definitely stay there again.

The reception and front desk staff were consistently kind and helpful. The location is excellent - very convenient for getting around, with plenty of things to see and do just minutes away.

As a solo female traveler, I did find that there wasn’t much within comfortable walking distance of the hotel after about 9 p.m. The hotel does have a cute bar that stays open until around 11, but it felt fairly quiet and not very lively when I was there alone.

My only real issue was with the elevators. One was completely out of service during my stay, and the other was not always reliable. Being on the fifth floor, this meant having to use the stairs multiple times, which was quite inconvenient.

The hotel room was very nice, comfortable, all amenities needed. They quickly responded try my emails prior to our stay. Breakfast was fine but would have been nice to offer at least one different option per day- every day was exactly the same. Hotel restaurant- took us an hour to get 2 sandwiches. Waitress very nice but seems the cook staff didn’t have some of the ingredients. Great hotel location and convenient to all sites.

We got an early check in which was fantastic for us. Check in staff very friendly and also the egg station chef was friendly.

The room was clean and adequate. The Hotel itself was also clean and in a great location for visiting the new town and old town.

Only 1 thing Negative to mention that didn't personally effect us as we were up early and ready to go for Breakfast. Currently there is some kind of building work or maintenance going on. They started what sounded like a pavement cutter at around 6:30AM. I'm sure they just did it for a laugh between themselves. Anyhow like I say it didn't effect us as we were ready and getting dressed and packing. Just be aware of this if your booking

It has the best location, two minutes walk from the train station, centrally located in The Royal Mile.
It is very close to restaurants, and shops.
The bed was very comfortable!

There is an ongoing remodeling and they start at 7 am. And the lift was out of service and there were signs for reception and none for the lift. We went around our floor a couple of times.
The bathroom sink gets clogged easily.

A very nice hotel, conveniently located to the High Street in Edinburgh. Has a very nice bar/restaurant (you kinda have to like bars, and I don't ... but the drinks were good and they did have some very nice dishes on the menu) and excellent breakfast (even includes custom-made omelets).
Room was comfy and quiet. I thought it was bit tight. But, worked quite well after being out and about all day.
I wish I'd known there was hotels from this chain in London (near St. Paul's) and in Dublin (near Dublin Castle). I'd have probably stayed at those as well.

We stayed one night at the Leonardo. We booked it for our last day/night in Edinburgh after a lovely tour of the Highlands. We booked there as it was in still close to the Royal Mile but its location made it easier easier to get a taxi to the airport after turning in our rental. 1. When we checked in we were informed our room was actually in the next building. We were told we could take the regular elevator or walk through a connected hallway on the ground level and take another elevator that served those rooms. We tried to take the first elevator. We couldn’t stop on the 4th floor where our room was. So, after several rides up and down, that opened up on other floors we got out and trekked down the “ hallway to the other elevator. The hallway was stark white. There was a grumpy man painting and it smelled terrible. We passed some restrooms and I think the smell was coming from there. It permeated the hallway. When we found the small elevator that serviced these other rooms, we made it to the

You cannot charge anything to your room unless you have paid money up front for them to deduct from like a line of credit. The whole thing was ridiculous as they had all my credit card details and could easily charge my card. It was extremely inconvenient having to pay every time you ordered and we had the same issue at the Clayton hotel in Glasgow. We also stayed at the Caledonian hotel in Edinburgh and had no issues charging anything to our room. Other than that there was a lot of construction going on around the hotel so forget sleeping in and one of the 2 elevators wasn’t working. The staff however were great and very polite and helpful and the location was excellent.

overall overpriced. for a four star hotel that should have a hair conditioner and towels in the bathrooms as standard. Receptionist seemed anxious type and super worried repeating that we might take adapters with us and it made me smile after a while she was like a guard dog to get you.
My booking was not the room I ordered it was downgraded to a smaller in a kind of basement with demolition work and sounds because overbookings and on top of it we were forced to split up the family and book extra single room which we never used.
So if you see rooms with double beds and sofa beds in this hotel- do not believe that it is there at all. there is a risk that you will be put in a smaller room and will be forced to buy another single room on just like us. I think if I knew all of this details, I will be checking into Radisson blue instead as safter choice what you get.

Hotel is in good location 100 meters from train station and very central to Edinburgh
Although the hotel is undergoing maintenance at the time of writing this, it seems to be not too distracting.
We had an evening meal which was fine, but the choice limited, they claimed due to being out of season
Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice for all types of tastes including cook to order omelettes, which could probably do with another station as the only one working was popular
Room and bathroom was fine, we were on 6th floor, but did not hear any noises during the night, so had a good sleep
All in all I would happily recommend this hotel

Location is goo right near the train station and royal mile. Room was clean and comfortable. Good value for the price. Breakfast was a good buffet spread but pretty expensive at 18 pounds per person. The elevators were down while we were there and we did see some questionable characters in the lobby at night, but for the elevator and stairs it required a room key. The door did close a bit slowly behind you when taking the stairs unless you pulled it shut.

This was a very nice hotel that was extremely convenient for travelers arriving in Edinburgh by train - literally only a block and a half away! While a bit more expensive than a comparable hotel we stayed at in London an equal distance from Victoria Station, it was ideal for our stay in Edinburgh. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived early and they kept our luggage for us while we visited the Palace and toured the Royal Mile. My only concern was that our luggage and backpack were left exposed to the general public in the lobby the entire time we were away. A secure room for left luggage would’ve been more reassuring!

Our room had a lovely king size bed. The ironing board and iron was a nice touch. The hair dryer worked great and there was lots of hot water and great water pressure. The climate control in the room was sluggish but eventually did a good job. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet.
