Staff was great in accommodating all my tourist questions and demands.

Be cautioned the bathroom on the second floor is in major need of an update, shower not even having a proper shelf to hold your toiletries.

The communal bathroom and showers one floor below I feel were missed by a majority of the tenants, so maybe some signage would help those less inclined on listening to the briefing?

Also take note that power outlets are limited in the room, so be prepared to negotiate with your roommates or spend your time occupying a port in the pub.

So long as you’re mentally prepared otherwise for a stay that, while not fancy, covers the basics, and cheap to boot— this is the place to stay!

Train cancelled and needed a last minute bed for the night. What a find great pub lovely helpful staff. Check in easy and very comfortable great nights sleep. First time in a hostel won’t be the last would definitely stay here again when in London.

Wasnt my best hostel stay mainly due to the others in my room who were very inconsiderate, not the fault of the hostel! I came back for my second nightvstay of 2 and someone else had been in my bed. Toilets and showers ok but not massively clean, only 2 sockets in middle of a very small room and everyone fighting to use them and not both worked! Staff ok but not amazingly friendly, they looked bored. Can hear the tube all night and music butbits a pub and london! No communal kitchen so you have to buy their drinks.. not great when you take your own stuff ready for a 12 hour shift. Disnt get food or drink discount for staying despite it saying. Wouldnt rush toncome back even though im here a lot. You get what youbpay for!!

Dealbreaker. Fire exit was bolted shut. For this alone the place should be closed down.
Negative parts. There is a serious shortage of amenities; 6 rooms on 2nd floor, but only one shower/loo between them. More on the 1st floor, but not many. Shower drain uncovered/broken, every sanitary bin overflowing. Bed sagging in the middle. Strange broken furniture in the bedroom. Note you may need a long extension to charge your phone, and bring a torch, some beds are away from the power and there are no bed lights. Public areas desperately need redecorating.
Positive. Clean bedding, warm room with opening window.

I liked how they had a place to stow away oversized luggage. They did this for guests free of charge. As for cleanliness and comfort, the place is after all a hostel and therefore one gets what they pay for. Like any hostel, one must endure noise and bad smells from everyone else sharing a room.

If you just need a basic bed to stay in near Euston or Kings Cross this is a pretty good option - I can't imagine doing any better for this sort of price. Everything seemed well managed, secure and clean. Would stay there again.

The bar downstairs does fantastic burgers and it's close to Euston station which makes it convenient. Other than that it's a bed in a boring room with a shared bathroom/toilet with overflowing bins. The hostel itself doesn't have a common room so the only option for socialising in the pub or making friends with the people in your room of which all the ones I encountered were middle aged locals that arrived and left while I tried to sleep.

This place saved me from having to pay hundreds of pounds for a last-minute hotel booking. It's right beside London Euston, so super convenient for travelers going through that station. On the other hand, it's right beside a construction site, very expensive for a hostel, and the rooms were unbearably hot at night. Everyone in my room slept without their blankets.

Bring a small padlock for storage of personal possessions, available to purchase there, but not provided.

Same with towel.

Bunks are comfortable and long enough (I am 6'-4\" or 1.9m).

Friendly place. Good pub downstairs.

Very well located to Euston Station (2 blocks - I had to catch an early train to Scotland)

1 block to Little Indian row of restaurants.

Saw a red fox in the lot next door !

With it being a hostel I wasn't expecting much, but I didn't expect the conditions to be so bad. The room was in fair condition. The windows could barely be open to let in fresh air which also brought noise from the pub downstairs. The bathrooms were gross, mattresses were terribly thin and people constantly came and went throughout the night making it impossible to sleep. Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra dollars to have your own space.

Close to Euston station, however lots of construction around the area atm. Cheap place to stay if you just want a bed to sleep and have a shower. Ok for 1 night. Most staff were nice and friendly. Nice restaurant downstairs. However one staff opened and came inside the room without knocking not saying a word, which was unpleasant. Very small room, no space if you open a big suitcase which some people have. Overall, you get what you pay for in a city like london.

The 25 I paid a night was barely worth it.

An adequate hostel with a good downstairs pub. Unfortunately kitchen was closed the day I was there, and the room was very warm and with a lot of light coming in through the night. The shower on our floor was also out of service. Not a brilliant night's sleep, but very convenient for getting to Euston in the morning.

The property is a busy pub with a few rooms above. Upstairs areas are basically dirty and neglected with dirty worn carpets on the stairs that should have been replaced decades ago! The bathroom was not clean and had no soap etc. The room was not properly cleaned and the sheets had stains on them. Also the rooms are noisy from the pub below in the evening till late. Stay here only if you have no other option left or if u intend spending all your time drinking in the pub till morning!

I arrived 3:30 AM because of late incoming flight from Sweden, and the night staff was very helpful with helping me to order food and such. Everything was clean and fresh, and the bunkbeds were actually comfortable.
Price-worthy and very close to the Euston station. For a hostel I give a 5/5 stars.

While I studied in London I frequented the beautiful little pub at the hostel as it two blocks down from my flat. When I returned a few months after I decided to stay there and I have to say, it is probably my favorite hostel. The staff is exceptional and very accommodating. The location is amazing because its close to Euston station but in a quiet little corner of the neighborhood.

No check-in fomos informados de overbooking, a solução seria transferir para outro hostel da mesma rede, aceitamos e fomos para o PubLove @ The Greenman, Paddington. No local que passaríamos a estadia sem a nossa escolha, fomos recepcionados por um péssimo funcionário chamado “Sebastian”, que em nossa frente fez injúrias ao funcionário do Publove @ Exmouth Arms Euston, por ter passado o problema de overbooking à ele, ou seja, nós éramos um problema para ele. Neste momento ele entra em contato com uma pessoa e chegam a conclusão que nossa reserva tinha sido cancela e deveríamos pagar novamente para nos hospedar.
Entro no meu perfil da Hotels.com e mostro à ele que minha reserva estava ativa, além do comprovante de pagamento do meu banco. Sem paciência e insistência ele informa que se não pagássemos, não poderíamos nos hospedar. Dissemos à ele que eu já tinha feito o pagamento e não poderia pagar duas vezes pela hospedagem e que se houve cancelamento, não fui eu quem fiz, mas apesar de ter mostrado à ele que a reserva estava ativa na Hotels.com e o comprovante de pagamento, eu poderia pagar novamente caso a Hotels.com me formalizasse o reembolso. O funcionário “Sebastian” continuou com sua intransigência, afirmando que a única solução seria o pagamento. Outro funcionário assumiu e resolvemos rapidamente, mas o desorganização continuou para o outro dia. Se reservar e pegar esse funcionário para te atender, pode correr o risco de dormir na rua, além de overbooking ser natural.

When booking the pictures and caption told me double room as I’d booked for two but when we got there was told we were in a mixed dorm which wasn’t happy about as if I go hostel I book female only rooms! Then got even worse when we got to the room and found we had 5 men in the room! As young females you can understand how uncomfortable we felt. Because of feeling so uncomfortable we actually weren’t able to sleep probably so only had about an hour sleep each which is not on. Also when getting ready we found the bathrooms to be very dirty, mould over shower, hairs in the sink etc
I would 100% avoid this place and never return again! Not very happy. If I could get my money back I would.

Couldnt dry hands as no paper towels in shared toilet, there was a plastic mattress protector which was so uncomfortable and made an awful noise every time you moved, noise from extractor fan all night long. The receptionists and staff members (basically bar tenders) were cold and unhelpful. This hostel cheats your money and provides very crappy rooms (and no service). Their stringent cancellation policies also make sure that you will NOT be able to get any refund at all from them even when the rooms isn’t even close to what they advertised on Expedia.

There is only one mixed gender toilet on my floor shared by people living in 6 rooms. There is ALWAYS someone occupying the bathroom for extended periods of time. I didn’t want to recall what I have seen. I had numerous unpleasant encounters of seeing half-naked men in the bathroom (they did not bother to lock the doors when they used it). I felt very uncomfortable about this.

Also, there is not any privacy in the room. The promised drapes or curtains are non-existent. The hostel simply lied when they wrote the descriptions. You basically just get a bed (with yellowish bedsheets) that squeaks every time you make a slight movement. The noisy, coming-back-at-3AM, smell-like-VOMIT, drunk roommates (who had their time at the pub downstairs) also constantly disturbed my sleep.

You also need to compete for space on the rather limited floor area in the shared room. I was unlucky as I was the last person joining the room. Basically other room members have already occupied most of the space with their luggage, backpacks, shopping bags, trash/ recyclables, clothes messily scattered in every usable territory of the room.

A great place to get mugged.

Stay away like the plague. My reservation was almost not honored, and when honored the bed provided was not clean, and had dirty sheets. Two homeless men were grouped into the same room as me, one of whom attempted to steal my belongings. Staff on duty was rude and unhelpful, and said none of the issues were his problem. Room was hot, smelled of vomit (as did the entire hostel), and dirty. No towels were available for use or purchase, but that didn’t matter as the showers were not working as well. This place was absolutely disgusting. Stay away like the plague.

Its a hostel so the first night we had two bad room mates but the second night we had one nice room mate. No breakfast included but they did give us 25% off brunch which was delicious. The bathroom is a gender neutral shared room which confused a lot of people.

About your reply on the the previous comment, everything you wrote was lies. And I wasn’t rude or anything to anyone. And when I was ordering, that was my first for that day. And the cleaning guy was my friend. We even used Translator to talk. And the English guy checking in every night wasn’t dodgy, only me!
What she did was racism and everyone who was standing at the bar noticed it and asked her to serve me. Don’t twist the truth with some silly excuses and lies. I stayed in many places my whole life and no one ever complained or treated me that way.

Absolutely atrocious. The \"staff\" is literally the bartender. This place is quite simply a few bunks above a rowdy bar. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Moreover, the \"staff\" couldn't care less about their \"guests.\" I was shocked by the attitude, indifference and unwillingness to help exhibited by this place.

Unfair and high-handed treatment at reception

My flight to London landed early morning 13th April, so I had made a prepaid booking for the 12th night so that I would be able to freshen up immediately on arrival instead of having to wait until 2pm to check in on 13th. When I arrived, however, inspite of my having paid for the dorm bed, I was refused entry because I had not shown up the previous night. How does it matter when I turn up when I have paid for the night in advance ? I was not given a refund either. I had to wait until 2pm before checking in after swiping my card again, because I didn’t have the inclination to haul my luggage around looking for an alternative place. Bad and high-handed reception at the place. Will not stay again. Plenty of hostels elsewhere.

Friendly pub, ripoff price for a shower

Facilities are as expected for a hostel. Older building, lots of stairs. Beds are pretty decent for hostel beds, hot water in the shower. The floors could be a little cleaner, lot of dust under the bed, but not unacceptable. Love the 24 hour pub downstairs. Would have appreciated earlier breakfast and would really appreciate not having to pay 5 pounds to buy a towel in order to take a shower. That is a scam.

Cheap and cheerful stay in the heart of London

Very happy with my stay as it was cheap and very close to the location of my training course. The area is quite nice, I felt safe walking home at night and Euston tube/rail station is very close. The bed sheets were clean and the showers were hot. For less that £20 a night that is most of my needs met. You can hear the bar from your room although not so loudly that it kept me awake. The rooms are a little worn looking and the bathroom ran out of paper towels for two full days, but both were clean and well heated. There are lockers in the room but they're very small, only for a tablet/phone/purse. I couldn't fit my chunky old laptop in. The secure luggage storage is downstairs behind the bar so it's not convenient to store your stuff there overnight - I quickly got over that though and nothing was stolen. I'd be happy to stay there again, you couldn't fault it for the price.

Basic dorm with great service in convenient area

Basic dormatory room, but had lockers and a luggage room. I arrived ate after a long day and the pub was closed. However the attendant was good enough to sell me a pint of beer and allow me to relax in the bar for a while before hitting the sack - wonderful! Coffee in the morning - so no complaints!

Clean, nice hostel. The hostel is located on the backstreets of Euston station, I'm able to walk to Kings cross station in about 10-12 mins so it's nice for making a connection.

The hostel itself is very clean although it feels strange to go inside the bathroom to see some ladies also there (co-Ed but individual shower stall)

AVOID AT ANY COST

The staff don't seem to care as they've are too busy taking care of the bar . No kitchen and no common area and the rooms are very small . There are 4 showers between maybe 40 people and the level of cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired . I've stayed in maybe 150 hostels on my travels and to be truthful this is one of the worst. It is not welcoming , no kitchen ,staff obviously don't care ,very unclean . When I arrived I saw a sticker on the check in computer saying \"bed bugs in room 9\". But they were checking people in to that room! All in all the location is great, the hostel is terrible, dirty and unwelcoming. If you are traveling solo you have to avoid, if on a budget and you wish to use a kitchen etc you have to avoid . If you (obviously) don't want bed bugs, then you should avoid. Don't forget your government issued photo ID...

I'd love to tell you about my stay at this hotel. But it didn't happen so I have given a minimum rating on all categories because I can't comment on somewhere I didn't stay.
I missed the bit on the booking where it said government issued photo ID; in my case, my passport. I didn't have my passport; yes, that's my error but I'm sure I'm not the first person to arrive there having misread a booking or forgotten a photo ID.
So, haring made that initial mistake and feeling foolish, the situation was compounded by the magnificently unhelpful barmaid/receptionist who is blessed with a sarcastic tone of voice and no problem solving abilities.
After 20 minutes, my partner had managed to get the information that it would be acceptable to use his passport which he could go and get although it would take him 90 minutes travelling there and back. What a shame we had to wait 20 minutes for that information.
By this point, I was sufficiently annoyed and frustrated to decide to abandon the whole trip. So sorry, your hotel/hostel can't get a review on your facilities because I didn't get to stay there. I understand the initial fault was mine. But your staff could have handled it so much better.

The pub was really great, and you get 10% off food/drink as a guest, but the rooms themselves weren't as good. They were incredibly warm, and only one shower room and one bathroom for at least 5 rooms of 8 people each.

Very close to Euston Station.

The hostel had very nice staff that helped me to settle my booking problem with Expedia. One from Poland, one from Australia. Toilets will cleaned every morning and beds were comfortable. The room is crammed for 6 people's belongings and luggages. (Only downside for me)

The rooms in this hostel have no ventilation at all.
There is only one window per 8 people and you can't open it more that 2-3 inches.
I was not able to sleep more than 1-2h because of the heat and lack of fresh air.

Comfy beds, tidy room etc & great selection of drinks at the bar downstairs.

Breakfast as expected for Continental and included in the price, however some cheese / ham wouldn't have gone amiss =)

I'll be back for sure !

Good stay in central London very convenient place！

Its great！the hostel is so clean abd comfortable and have spaciouse and good washroom and shower room. Nice bar downstairs with good burgers and special menue.

Not worth the value

The hotel was easy enough to find, close to Euston Station. The room itself was small for 6 bunks. The lockers were tiny, could barely fit a medium sized purse into. The ceiling looked like it had water damage and was beginning to grow mold. The windows did not open up more than 2 inches; therefore, it was hot and humid at all times. Luckily there was a fan provided that could be put near the window to pull in air from the outside. The bathroom was communal, with 4 showers, 2 toilets, and 3 sinks. The free breakfast consisted of 2 types of cereal (plain rice crispies & corn flakes), toast (plain and wheat), and tea/orange juice. Overall for the budget, it could be better compared to other hostels I've stayed at. Would NOT book again.

Expensive hostel with basic service.

Although we booked a double room (obviously, there is only one), we were treated as if having booked the dorm. We needed to argue to get towels, which ruined bit of the experience of spending a weekend in London. Hostel (and room)entrance with code, which causes extra noise when some guests return to their dorm in the early morning, obviously not respecting the night rest of the other guests.

Perfect!

The location of this hostel is perfect for trips to London - less than 200m from Euston Station. I have stayed a few times and the staff have always been faultless with their service - very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The 6-bed rooms are a great size - worth the extra couple of pounds. Highly recommended!

Great hospitality: Great beer!!!

I only stayed for one night on a business trip. It's v close to Euston, which was perfect for my train. The barman/concierge, Paolo (?) was very helpful, and the bar was clean and friendly - nice for a solo visitor. Icing on the cake for me was a good range of real ales: the two I tasted were very good and obviously well-kept!

Great local stay

Great location, just round the corner from Euston station. Quiet little pub and the dorms themselves were clean and simple, just above the bar. No loud music at night or rowdiness. Only weird thing was the bathroom upstairs was unisex - so if you have a shower in the lovely cubicles, make sure you have your provided towel with you!

Why not?...

I checked-in very late, around 2am thu-fri night. I guess the one who checked me in is new because he was slow & couldn't answer my questions directly. But he was nice. Since it was a thursday night, there were not much people in the pub.
To get to my room, I had to go up a very tiny narrow stairs. U need 2codes to get to your bed. The 2nd code they gave me didn't work, so I had to go down to the reception again. When I got to my room (8-bed dorm), someone placed their belongings on my bed. Luckily there was another bed unoccupied. I took that bed. The bunk beds are low. I'm a fairly short person but still I can sit up straight on my bed (lower bunk bed).
The washroom is huge & clean.
As for breakfast, just white bread, butter/jam, cereals with a choice of either coffee or tea. No juice.
This was pretty close to UCLH, where I was headed to for an interview.
I'll stay here again & recommend this place.

Extremely clean place, hostel sits on top of a nice pub (the pub's actually where you check in and out). Only complaint was that there weren't any shelves or counter spaces in the bathrooms to put your things on - had to make do with propping everything up on a heater. Other than that, it's a good location - 5-7 mins' walk away from Euston tube, at a very decent price.

Bed wasn't good.

The location is nice. Only 3minutes' walk to Euston station. There is a supermarket which open till midnight near the guesthouse.
Also, staff were helpful.

My room wasn't comfortable.
My bed was the bottom of bunk bed and I couldn't sit down on my bed because the upper bed was too close to mine. Other room mates seemed to have same problem. So, you can't read or talk while sitting down on your bed!
When I wanted to read my book, I had to lie down all the time.
There is no lobby for guest, so you have to order something at the bar if you want to sit on chair.

The is no plug for hair dryer in bathroom, so you have to use it in your room when someone might be still sleeping.

Because of jetlag, I woke up at 3 a.m. everyday. To my surprise, the sitting area downstairs (bar) opened 24 hours literally. The staff was friendly and I never felt unwelcomed. I spent many quiet nights/early morning there and had very productive working output.

One night in a shared bedroom

I had to take a plane early on a Sunday so booked a room in this hostel for the night, in a 6 beds shared bedroom. The room was small but clean, the bunk beds were rather comfortable. It was really hot in the room but we had a fan plugged and placed on the floor. There are small lockers (big enough for a handbag) and its possible to safely leave your luggage at the reception. The door opens with a digital code. Bring a bath towel and a lock if you don't want to buy one when arriving. The shared bathroom was quite clean and had only three showers for three rooms. The breakfast was really basic. The hostel was well located in the city, staff friendly, and the pub itself nice. Good for tight budgets or short stays.

Great hostel for the price. Pretty much what I expected. However, did I have some trouble with another other guests, who was not fully respectful towards the rest of us sharing the room. But that is nothing that had to do with the hostel.

Excellent value in a clean hostel. Staff, drinks and food were of a very good standard. I would recommend and I will return.
