A Good Choice

We had a lovely stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. It’s quite close to a train station that connects to all the main terminals which was very useful. The facilities were very clean and fairly comfortable. If you are wanting to use the sofa bed during your stay, maybe make that request ahead of time. We should have, as my husband and son were sharing a room, and I was sharing one with our two daughters. They had made the sofa bad in my room and added extra towels, which was excellent. But by the time we asked for our son’s bed to be made, we were told housekeeping had already left for the day. They did manage to provide a blanket. We asked the next day for it to be made, and they brought an additional blanket, but never a fitted sheet.
It really wasn’t the end of the world - we made due. But good to send the hotel a message next time ahead of the stay.
Otherwise, lovely hotel, good location (also a grocery store very nearby!) and very clean. We had a great stay!

This is exactly what you'd expect for a Hilton Garden Inn. It's just showing a little age and could us a refresh. The bed was very firm, the sheets and towels were just fine. It's close to a train station, but very limited shopping or dining in the area. It was good for one night.

The location of the property is excellent, which is a major plus. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The breakfast spread was quite limited, and the same items were repeated every day during our 4-day stay, which became monotonous. The room’s air conditioning was not functioning properly, making it hot and uncomfortable. Even after changing the room, the issue remained unresolved. Additionally, the level of hospitality did not meet expectations — we had to ask for basic amenities and services, which should have been proactively provided. Overall, the stay lacked the comfort and care one would hope for.

As already mentioned, Shower was not holding in one place and the hot to cold water control was so poor that you couldn’t set water temp to your liking. The water will suddenly change from very hot to very cold and vice versa by giving you shivers and also burning you.

Terrible shower with no door, the whole bathroom becomes a big pond, and on top of that - the shower leaks.
Water in the shower goes from hot to cold every ~5 seconds, couldn't take a normal shower.
Hotel front desk only answers the phone 1 out of 5 times... We wanted an extra towel, it was impossible to reach the front desk and after we did - we had to wait 45 minutes for a towel.
Don't waste your time and money.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I had been awake for 24 hours traveling. Clean hotel room, comfy bed (on the firm side) and fantastic shower. Great location. Located next to multiple public transportation. Definitely recommend! Breakfast was awesome!

Great location with a tram stop outside the hotel. 2 supermarkets close by and a great takeaway close by. 25 euros per night to park was a little surprise to us. Watch the toilet flush! It is fierce and you end up wet if the lid isn’t closed

This property was clean and nice. Perfect for what we needed. There is tram access right outside of the hotel and an S-Bahn station is less than a 10 min walk, so you have easy access to transportation to and from Munich downtown. The restaurant was great, but they were short staffed when we were there so they closed earlier than advertised for a couple of the nights we were there. The AC didn’t really cool off the room as we would have liked so we had the window open this made it a little noisier since it by the main train station not terrible.

A great choice just outside of Munich Center!

About a 15-20 minute cab/Uber ride to Hofbrauhaus/Marienplatz, but also located about a mile from Central Station with some decent restaurant options nearby.
For 3 adults, the room was small but the bathroom was relatively large for a European hotel.
Bonus points: hotel bar open until 00:00 and a restaurant serving breakfast and dinner if you need it. Also, a guest laundry which we took advantage of since we had already been traveling for a week with another week to go. No charge, just buy a Tide Pod downstairs.
Down the street is Augustiner Brauhaus - a great alternative to Hofbrauhaus - and even closer to the hotel is Restaurant Heidi, which was by far the best restaurant experience we had in Munich!
There's a grocery store steps away from the hotel for essentials and a coffee to go - if you don't want the hub-bub of downtown Munich, I highly recommend this hotel!

The check-in experience could have been a lot better. Spent 1 hr doing checkin as the staff for late night checkin were clueless if anything outside the ordinary happened.

All the power sockets are EU style. For a hotel that is trying to cater to international customer base that was quite off putting.

Nice hotel, near a main train station and a good tram stop so it was easy to get around town. We had three adults to a room and they had pre-prepared the sofa bed so it felt more welcoming. The staff I interacted with were all very good, trying very hard to help with things. But I think they were significantly short staffed and some of them seemed very new/not sure on some things. But I appreciated that they were clearly focused on trying to make things easy for us. Still a great hotel and the expected Hilton quality. I'd stay there again.

Staff are very friendly. When we checked in, the staff asked for my passport. Is that a policy?

Not enough towels in the room for two adults and toilet paper. It would be nice to have facial towels as well. Also, laundering the towels can be improved. They look clean but did not smell as clean.

We used this hotel as a base for our trip to Munich. The location was incredibly convienient, just across the bridge from the train station, and only a couple of stops into the centre. Despite the proximity of train tracks, we heard nothing in our room.

The hotel was clean and modern. It had a well equipped bar and decent restaurant.

The service from the staff was one of the best we’ve had. Would definitely come back!

A very nice hotel - lovely reception & friendly service at check-in, had a super spacious room that was nice & warm in the cold weather. Very easy to get to the hotel from the airport & also into the centre with the train station in close walking distance. The weather was cold & wet so I didn’t wander around the area that the hotel is in so I’m not sure what other amenities are close by. I’d happily stay here again & would recommend it to my family & friends.

Excellent location right near a main subway station takes about 10 minutes to get into central Munich. Quiet hotel when windows closed cannot hear a peep! Only issue was turndown service did not happen on Sunday so we were left without towels and tea/coffee for two days.

The hotel was great, nothing to be faulted. There was a 'snack bar' with various items (including beer) which could be taken to the room (room was brilliant too!) and were reasonably priced. This isn't something I had seen in other hotels and I have been to many. The choice for breakfast was incredible, too much to list, and the hotel itself didn't seem to have many occupants, which made the choice of pastries for example even more surprising.

Wonderful staff especially Rebi and the chef

The hotel was nice and convenient to the metro (walking distance). The restaurant staff were friendly and very helpful. My daughter is vegan and usually bought her frozen food from stores close to the hotel; these had to be cooked or warmed to be eaten. My daughter asked Rebi (a wonderful and courteous waitress) if the vegan food could be cooked and Rebi took it to the chef who also went out of his way to cater to my daughter's needs. When we were traveling he even packed the food to keep it warm.

It was slightly helpful but completely disappointing considering the amount we paid for the room. Location was good but wouldn’t recommend unless you are ok with a room that was hot and stuffy.

The room is very dark. The toilet flush is a disaster, water splashed everywhere whenever I flushed. There is nothing nearby, far from all the attractions.

Oktoberfest

Was close to the trains for easy access to the city centre. Check in and out was fine, but gave up on waiting when we called for extra toilet paper and went downstairs to get it myself. Room was really hot and couldn’t figure out the air conditioning, even with the window closed. Very clean and comfortable, otherwise.

The hotel itself was fine. A little out of the way from the city center but still walkable, or a pretty cheap Uber/cab.

My issue was with the service. We arrived at 2PM to check in (check in is at 3), and were fully prepared to wait until 3PM to check in. The woman who was checking us in was extremely rude and gave us attitude for arriving before 3PM. Since it was only an hotel until 3, we decided to wait even though she made us feel uncomfortable. Multiple people came after us and we watched one by one as they checked into their rooms and were given hotel keys! We didn't say anything until after 3PM, when we asked if our room was ready. The same lady lied and said she was having trouble with her system. We then asked why others were allowed to check into their rooms when she came after us, and her reply was that we booked with expedia and were not hilton honors members (I actually am a Hilton honors member). We were then forced to wait until after 3:30 to get into our rooms, and had to ask a manager to get any sort of accommodation for waiting long after check-in time. The only thing we got after being insulted was one free drink ticket - which could only be used in the restaurant. Not the kind of service I expect from a Hilton, and it really seems like they discriminate if you use Expedia to book. Very weird experience. I wouldn't stay again.

Not our normal Hilton experience. My check in was horrible and left a bad taste in my mouth. Front desk host was outside on cell phone and was rushing check in to get back to conversation. Had call running while I was checking in. Asked about HHonors and his response was “it’s not going to get you a different rate,” which was not why I asked. Rental sedan did not fit in garage and so had to use alternate garage which had you walking parallel to the train tracks and feeling unsafe.

New but dirty and poor housekeeping

Hotel was brand new (opened 4 weeks before our stay) but rooms were not cleaned properly. They reused bath mats everyday, just folded the wet mat and put back on the tub. Didn't replace any of the wash cloths they took and half the towels were replaced. Told the front desk and they made excuses rather than sending someone to correct. Plus, one of the rooms appeared to not get vacuumed. Dirt/debris on tables and lint/dust bunnies were pushed around the room. Not what is expected from Hilton Garden Inn. Very disappointed and I've stayed at a lot of these hotels in the states over the years. Would not stay again if given the choice.

New modern furnished hotel just two subway stops from the main train station. Carlos at the front reception was awesome. Warm hospitality and customer service. Room was a good size for 2 adults and a teenager with queen bed and a pull out sofa even by North American standards. Internet was free although a bit slow. Comfortable amenities and air conditioning. Laundry room was free for use although we had a hard time figuring out how to use the washer and dryer was painfully slow! Would stay there again!

Great choice for a city break

When we checked in I was surprised to find out breakfast hadn't been included in our stay but i would attribute that to how the hotel was booked through expedia rather than the hotel itself.
I chose this hotel because i have stayed with the same chain of hotels in the US. Overall i was very happy with my choice

Very good location. The only problem was that on the hotel website there is a lovely photo of the swimming pool. When we asked where the pool was we were told that the photo is of another hotel! Very poor!
