Was deciding between 3 and 4 stars, chose 4. Location is the key - if you plan to drive from Reykjavik to National parks for hiking and sightseeing, it has an excellent location on the East edge of town, very accessible. Pretty close to Costco gas station as well, which is well worth to save money on very expensive gas (just like everything in Iceland). The parking is convenient, just a few lots between the apartments and nearby businesses - free and pretty abundant. Suites themselves are furnished OK, nothing special, but works: shower pressure is great (important moment), kitchenette has all necessary appliances, laundry room (if needed) is available. Cleanliness a bit subpar, when we moved in a smell of some either burnt curry or something, so we had to find Febreze in the store and use it. Big drawback is window treatments: it is summer, so 20+ hours of daylight in Iceland. Why not invest in some cheap blinds? The curtain is not thick enough, coupled with blinds would have been great. Yes, we did have sleeping masks but seems strange not to have some blinds like in any hotel. We had to shut down the heater completely, as only one small window can be opened, and it does get hot in the room. Good value for money but some things good use a simple improvement.

It was a nice property, had all the utensils you would need to cook, we had an inconvenient one time we got to the apartment and we get in the shower 3 minutes later no water. Apparently the town decided to do maintenance and we were going to be without water for hours. No communication whatsoever from the host letting us know, so here we are with soap using water bottles to shower when they knew what was going on and could’ve send a message. Very disappointing night. Other than bad communication, everything else is good and good location.

Great stay at Icelandic Apartments. The place was clean, cozy, and had all the basic amenities we needed. The 24-hour chat support was very helpful, and they kindly accommodated our late checkout request. When the laundry on our floor was broken, they quickly arranged for us to use another floor, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a comfortable and well-managed stay, and we felt taken care of throughout.

The room was either super hot (no A/C) or super cold (open windows); if you opened the windows, you risked inviting all the community mosquitoes. Zero cleaning service; you need to clean yourself; which I’m fine but after a while you really need someone to come pickup at least the dirty towels and linens.

We enjoyed our stay at Icelandic Apartments. The facilities were clean and the kitchen was fairly well equipped. The only issues we had were with the door and room code, as well as the code to the laundry area for towels. However, the host worked with us to solve the issues and the response was immediate. We would stay there again.

We stayed 3 nights as a family of four with two young kids and loved it. Spacious, clean apartment with a handy kitchenette and shared laundry. Free parking was a huge plus — no downtown parking hassle — and it’s just a 10‑minute drive to the city. Grocery store right across the street made meals easy. Perfect base for exploring Reykjavík and beyond!

I chose this property for the washer dryer. It was a disaster. The circuit kept tripping. Had to make a call. There’s only one set for the whole floor and the dryer never did dry the clothes. I had to hang my clothes all over the apartment. The shower and sink drains were clogged and the night light switch was broken next to bed. Also only one sleeping pillow per person.

Our check in was very problematic. The codes sent did not work. The luggage storage code was incorrect. Then the hall door code was incorrect. The live chat person eventually helped us out by issuing a new code, but that took over 20 minutes. Then the laundry facilities on our floor was missing a drier, so we needed to use laundry facilities on other floors. This made for a very hectic, unrestful evening.

Good location for driving into the city, free parking, and clean. We appreciated having a small kitchen to prepare our own food, with dishes and cutlery provided. Check in was smooth but it was hard to get sheets and pillowcases for the sofa bed (they were not in our room upon arrival and we had to go find them ourselves on another floor). No blackout curtains - the curtains are red so the best you get is a red-tinted light. The room was extremely hot and humid despite the cool temperatures outside. We couldn’t open the window because it was basically a door that opened onto the roof, which would have been very unsafe for our young daughter. The water smells like sulphur, which is not an issue we encountered in the other accommodations we stayed in in Reykjavík. Overall, this apartment was acceptable, but we would not stay here again.

We booked two rooms. One was very nice and one had a lot of water damage to the floors and bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was very easy to get in with the codes that are text’d to you. It was very convenient having laundry on each floor but the power kept kicking off and had to reset the breaker. Took a very long time for my laundry to dry. There are a couple restaurants in walking distance, a bakery and a grocery store. Parking was very easy. Appreciated the blackout curtains. Overall it was a good stay!

Modern apartment near a grocery store and bakery. The unit itself was clean but lacked some amenities. There were no black out curtains so it was bright at night. The shower basin was too small and you had to shut the shower off several times to let it drain so it wouldn’t flood the floor.

Our stay at Icelandic Apartments was absolutely outstanding and made our Iceland trip even more memorable. From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless—check-in was smooth, the apartment was spotless, and the staff were warm, friendly, and happy to help with anything we needed.

The apartment itself was modern, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped, which made it easy to cook meals after long days of exploring. The large windows offered stunning views of the surrounding nature, and we loved waking up to the peaceful Icelandic landscape every morning.

The location is also ideal—just a short drive from Reykjavik and perfectly situated for day trips to the Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon, and South Coast. There’s a grocery store nearby and free parking, which made everything convenient.

We really appreciated the quiet and cozy atmosphere, the thoughtful design of the space, and the overall value for money. It truly felt like a home away from home.

The property felt like home away from home. It was close to the city 15 mins by car. The grocery store was across the street within walking distance. The apartment was spacious. It had all the amenity needed as my home would have, cook top, refrigerator, nice closet for storage, comfy sofa, shared washing machine and dryer in all floors. The property manager was quick in answering all questions no matter today or night. I did not want to leave. Best experience I have had staying away from home. It was also quiet and clean.

Booked a standard apartment. It was fine as a base and the location suited us as we had rented a car and planned days out. Plenty of free parking. Furniture was all fine and sofa bed ok for an adult. Disappointing view of the car park and gym in opposite building. Apartment did have an odd smell (seemed a different issue to the expected sulphur smell in the bathroom). Kitchen equipment quite limited. Heating was good. Didnt sleep too well - think road noise and an intermittent humming noise had an impact. Check in process worked fine. Overall, it was ok but would probably try elsewhere in future.

Be aware that if you book here, you will not be able to contact or speak to anyone at any point during your stay. We were hoping for a slightly early check in as we arrived at 4am and were very tired by 2pm. No one to contact for that. So we sat around for an hour. Whatever, thats fine but the biggest issue was our code did not work for the front door of the building at all. We were panicking because there was no way to get a hold of anyone at all. The number on the front of the building was out of service, there is no front desk like it says there is, and no contact information through expedia. I tried the chat and that is a joke, just took me in circles offering no help. Luckily our saving grace was another family arrived who experienced the same issue and had an alternate code. Please fix this issue!!! Very stressful when you arrive at 10pm and can't get in to your accommodation and can't get a hold of anyone.

everything is remote access - having no access to phone or text during our trip posed to be an issue. Roaming had to be engaged to reach the office as our room door code did not work and we could not get in, very frustrating at the end of a long day with kids and bags around not being able to get in or reach anyone - perhaps a phone in the building for this reason would be good or a way to reach the office directly. Once home i got a bunch of instructions and messages via text. this part was disappointing.

we stayed there for two nights.The room was booked for four adults. the lights did not work properly, washroom had sulphur smell.None of us were Able to shower because of the strong smell. cleanliness was just average.
My husband had to use the sofa bed which was very uncomfortable, we called Customer service and the woman said she was not able to fix the problem today but she will definitely switch us to another, better room tomorrow.To our disappointment we didn't hear from her the next day and we had to live in the same room! We were very upset with the whole customer service.I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The customer service lady also said that she'll escalate our complaint to the manager, but the issue was not resolved and she didn't even call back.

We would have needed a bedside table as my wife sleeps with a cpap machine. The lighting in the living room and kitchen was deficient. It would have been nice to be able to check in earlier than 3:00 pm as we arrived early in the morning and were quite tired. Also a freezer in the fridge would have been convenient for our freezer packs.

Arrived around 3:30 pm to find my room hadn't been cleaned. I found the cleaner working down the hall and was told it would be another 45mins before my room would be ready.
I had reached out to the property earlier to see if an early check-in was available, and told that would likely not happen and incur a, \"small\" fee of $45 euro.
I requested a partial refund for the room not being ready as promised, to which I heard nothing. I contacted them twice, no response at all.
The room was satisfactory albeit showing signs of wear all over. Cracked toilet seat, warping trim and edging. It did not live up to the expectations set by others or the property. I was disappointed.

The property itself is fine. Utilitarian. They have washing machines on the 2nd floor. After checking in my door lock battery crapped out. It took them 4 hours to fix the door. I missed a good chunk of my tour, waiting for it to be fixed. All my stuff was inside the unit and they offered another room to me which made no sense. They refused to offer any compensation.

People planning to travel south, can use this apartment. Lovely location. Neat surroundings and calm. Right in the southern edge of kopavoegur and superb access to routine 1 towards south. Going into Reykjavik is around 10 kms and easy to drive on. Ample free parking. For self driven cars, this Icelandic apartment is one of the best.

Owner was very kind letting us in at 9am, we were traveling with three kids..The room still wasn’t prepared but it was ok since the check in was supposed to be at 3 and we had a selected room with a view-gorgeous btw!!I only took away because after long wait for room to be cleaned (which happened after 3pm) the toilet seat wasn’t wiped, so sad to say owner needs to work on his cleaning team.
10min to reykjavik, 40from airport, 7 to H.horseback riding, cozy dining place(expensive but worth it!) downstairs, bakery across the street(the only place we really enjoyed bread) and pastries, and cheap grocery store right next to it. There are also polish stores 10/15min away for those interested.

On third day we had an issue with our key card access to the room, the owner came out and assisted with getting us back in. Would definitely stay again.

Located 12 min driving to downtown Reykjavik. Room was a very clean big studio with big windows and beautiful view of the mountains. There was everything in the room necessary for a comfortable stay. Wii-fi speed is better than in my own house. Big supermarket Bonus is across the street.
One more thing I wanted to mention. We arrived to KEF at 4 am with two kids super tired from the lack of sleep. Check in time for the hotel was 3 pm. We really needed a shower and some sleep before being able to do anything. We headed to the hotel and our host let us check in early without additional pay. We were very thankful to them for that. Such a nice place!

I really appreciated the cleanliness of the property and it was a decent location. One of the showers was very difficult to use as the knobs were broken. All in all would stay here again!

The Icelandic apartments were in a good location not far from the main city of Reykjavik. There were also some good local amenities not far from the apartments which made shopping for stuff easier. The parking was also convenient as I had a rental car.

I would recommend Icelandic apartments and would definitely use these apartments again.

Instructions were well-communicated and easy to follow for our late check-in. The property was well-maintained and spacious, with plenty of room for us to spread out. Would have been nice to have a few more hangers, but there were plenty of chairs and furniture to use to lay out clothes and travel items. The only negative was a horrid smell when we arrived, and for which we couldn't identify the source. We were able to open all the windows to eventually air the space out, but it was overwhelming at first (and was surprising since the lobby area, hallways and elevator all smelled clean and fresh).

They were super friendly and even let us check in a little early. It was super nice to be able to drop our stuff off and rest a bit after a long flight.
