Great if exploring Iceland in a car. Otherwise 40 min walk to the city centre of Reykjavik. Virtual check in and check out with a helpline if needed. Clean and spacious room. Shower doesn’t smell great but believe this is common in Iceland.

problem with entering the hotel and room! Very bad internet, you have to use your own!! I didn't see any of the staff, the room is not cleaned, the towels are not changed, you have to ask later! The TV does not work for local channels!! The room and bathroom are very clean and tidy!!

There were many problems encountered with the hotel room here. The lights would not work when attempting to turn them on. The TV would randomly turn on at different points in the night, and it would play Chinese shows. The hallways smell very bad. The staff was unresponsive.

SCAM ALERT! Super dirty floor when we entered the room. Washroom stinks as soon as you turn the water on. Rooms come with fully renovated and modern amenities including a Nespresso Coffee Machine which is the last thing they should’ve been concerned about.
Booking was 2 nights unfortunately and we even wrote a message to clean the second day but still absolutely nothing was done about that. Infect, they wanted us to let them know what time we were going to check out the next morning so that they can have the room ready for next guest when the check out time clearly states 11:00 AM.
Also TV turned on by itself and someone from different room was controlling the TV. We talked to multiple people there who said they had the same issue as well.
In short, do not fall for the pictures and try to stay away from this place as much as you can.

When we showed up the code wasn't working - we were able to sort that out after a few calls. But when we got to the room it wasn't what was advertised at all. It's pretty far outside the city center so the reason we stayed here was because the photos of the room we booked looked like it had a huge living room and kitchenette. The room we actually got was a small cramped one. They ended up getting us into the bigger room the following night - but only offered a 10% refund. On top of that I think the hotel is still in construction so it was noisy during the day. Wouldn't recommend staying here.

The room did not match the pictures. While we were eating dinner another family gained access to our room which was very unsettling. We were unsure where to park. Beds were very hard and expected our additional bed was a pull out couch but it was a very uncomfortable cot.

We ended our 2 week road trying on Ring Road here. We wanted a warm place to come back to after going to the Blue Lagoon. My boyfriend took a shower and neither drain worked. The bathroom completely flooded and went into the carpet of the main room. We ended up cleaning it ourselves and asked to move to a different room but all were booked. I’m glad we found out before the blue lagoon so I was luckily able to shower there. I wish I went down to ask for a partial refund since the main reason we went was for a good shower that couldn’t even happen. Room was hot so we slept with windows open. Bed was comfy and the duvet was thinner compared to other places which was nice. Really really bummed about the shower though.

Pleasant hotel all round

Nice hotel... much better than what we were expecting given the price. Helpful staff, delicious breakfast, clean... we selected hotel due to its proximity to the place where we needed to get PCR test but would stay there again despite it not being close to downtown Reykavik. What we saved on hotel will pay for a nice dinner in town!

It's kind of far from City central, but thanks to the Hopp scooters I managed. I spend time in two different rooms, and each room had a non working light bulb, one room had two of them, granted it sunny almost all day, so no big deal, just saying. Overall, I do recommend them, great staff, clean and accommodating.

We stayed with two kids under 9. The breakfast was overpriced even more so than everything in Iceland.
The room had bunk beds and a kitchenette which was great since we could buy some of our meals from the supermarket.
There were no blinds only curtains that didn't go to the ceiling and we were there during summer solstice, so the room was never very dark.
It is located on the edge of town in a sense so driving to and from the hotel was easy and parking was no problem.

You get what you pay for. Fridge didn’t work, hotel was in the middle of an industrial park with no restaurants nearby and the rooms only offered single beds. Although the staff are friendly and the hotel seems to be linked to all of the excursions which offer hotel pickup.

Very clean and relatively large room. Even had a fridge in it which is nice. Not exactly central but pretty close- easy bus or cab to city center. Price was a bit less than city center. Great little restaurant (Ginger) next to hotel but not that much nearby- about 0.5 mile walk to most other restaurants and stores. Would stay again for sure

Did the trick for one night

It was nice and clean. Beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and helped us get a room on a lower floor when requested...wasn't proactively done even though my Dad walks with a cane and there's no elevator.

Room was clean, bathroom was nice except an issue with water drainage in shower and sink - it was slow moving.

I thought breakfast was included but turns out it was an additional $2000 kr.

We arrived early in the morning 6:30am and had to wait till 7am when the hotel opened. There was no one there before 7 and the door was locked. No shops open earlier than 9 around here so I guess it's normal. We had to stand outside in cold for 30 minutes. So if you plan to arrive in odd hours make sure you have enough warm clothing. It's more like a guest house than a hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful once he's there.

Hotel locked up - could not get in after 11pm

Our flight arrived like many others around 11pm. This hotel had no shuttle pickup, they suggested either Taxi at 165 Euros one way or 30 Euros by bus. We took the bus which had us at the hotel at 1:15am. The Hotel was locked up with a not at the front desk, closed at 11pm. There was a bell and intercomm outside the door which we rang about 10 time over 15min then gave up. We also called the hotel number which we could here ringing inside but also no answer. We had to then start walking to another hotel at 1:30am. We called the closest one we could find and he had 1 room left for us. That hotel also called the Arctic Comfort Hotel but got no answer. So we then stayed the second night as we had the room booked for 2 nights and for the most part the room was good, we had found out later that they do not always have a night person although when we did check in they mentioned the front desk is staffed 24hrs. Many tours go out and come back at 2:30am if the guests did not have the keys they would also be locked out. When we checked out it was at 2:30am since that is how long of a wait we needed for the airport bus to pick us up and go to all other hotels for the 6am flight. The check out was smooth but they did not ask how our stay was, so I could not inform them of the shower the was clogged and almost overflowed onto the bathroom floor, or the very loose Power plug in the bathroom another safety hazard.

Beds are horrible. If you like waking up sore the place is perfect. Our shower didn't drain so they switched our room to what was smaller then a dorm. The next day our keys to the room didn't work. Following day house keeping came in unannounced cause they never switched our room in their computer system. All set never again

About a 30 min walk into town but good parking

Even though it was 30 mins to walk into town it was easy to find and plenty of free parking out front. It's kind of in an industrial estate. Very quiet.
The staff are very friendly and knowledgable and they have free maps on the check in desk. Bus stop near by and it's only a few stops into town.
There was a mistake with our room key and we entered a room with people already in it. The guys on the front desk were very apologetic and rectified it straight away. The room we had was like a studio apartment with 2 single beds and two bunkbeds. I don't know if they were all like that or whether we had been upgraded. The decor inside the room was a bit old fashioned and the bathroom was tiny but it was light and airy and clean. My mattress was a bit worn with a dip in the middle but it was still comfortable. Three pillows were good as often hotels don't have enough.

Check into the hotel was fine with a gentlemen helping us & with a smiley face. However the lady who served us breakfast & reception duty on the next day, she looks so glum and unfriendly like she has lost her soul.....not a smile on her face, it's sad to see a person that looks like that. The other point I like to make is the shower has no pressure, very slow flowing, wasting a lot of our time when having a shower. Overall, it's just an adequate hotel.

They are not what the seem online. Beware!

It was a nightmare: their cheap IKEA mattresses are very uncomfortable, the room was filthy dirty (the minibar was so dirty we could not use it and there was blood in one bed sheet), the curtains are not appropriate for a place where the sun hardly sets in Spring/Summer and they have far too many steps.

We have 1 baby and 1 toddler, and we booked a triple room (as the baby still sleeps with us anyway, we just needed one extra bed for the toddler; by the way, we didn't reserve breakfast for any day).

When we arrived at our room, we figured it out that it was a double room, not triple, as we had booked. The receptionist told us the triple room had been given to someone else and, after calling his manager, he said we would have to stay at a quadruple room. Astonishingly enough, we were forced to pay the difference!

When I pondered that I booked a triple room and I didn't think was fair to pay more for something that I did not need, he said his manager was adamant that we should stay at a room with 4 beds as we were 4 guests (irrespective of the kids age!). So, we had to stay at a room in the third floor, with no lift (imagine that with baby stroller... or for someone who needs a wheelchair, which at least was not our case), with one double bed and one bunk bed. We did not even use the top bed at the bunk bed, as we were afraid the toddler could fall from the heigh.

What seemed like a good deal online was a truly nightmare...

great hotel, a fair distance from the city centre

This hotel was a really pleasant hotel. The facilities were good and the staff here was excellent in helping you either book something like a tour, or to help you get around the city.

The only downside to this hotel is that it is a considerable distance from the town centre. If you enjoy walking then the main street for shopping is around a 40 minute walk. There are busses available to get to town but I found icelandic busses difficult to get my head around.

This hotel is older and starting to show its age. There was no hot water in the bathroom sink. We told the staff about it three times during the week, but the issue was never fixed. There is no secondary lock on the door, just the keycard lock. The optional breakfast costs 2000 ISK per person (almost $20) and includes waffles, cereal, deli meat and cheese, and coffee/tea. The hotel staff refused to break a 1000 ISK bill into smaller currency needed for bus fare and told us to go to a bank instead, despite having a cash register at the front desk. There was a rock band that practiced in the nearby building well past midnight twice a week - they were loud, but not very good. The hotel is in a business district which is a bit far from the tourist center of town: approximately 40 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride that costs 440 ISK ($4) per person. A taxy to or from the center will run about 2600 ISK (about $25). There are about a dozen restaurants within a 10 minute walk, so there's a variety of cuisine choices, and a sport center with thermal baths not far away.

The rooms at the hotel are pleasant and reasonably roomy by European standards. The hotel is actually two adjacent buildings with breakfast served in each location. There is an electric kettle and instant coffee and tea in the room as well as a small dorm size frig.

Good hotel, but don't go in the summer!

The room was ok, but there is only a little tiny bit of the window that opens, which makes the room really stuffy with no way to refresh it! There's no air-con either.

The hotel is far from the city centre if you are walking, but that's not an issue if you are driving.

Arctic Comfort hotel was very comfortable and was within easy driving distance (not walking) of the center of Reykjavik. The room was large with comfortable single beds and a good bathroom.

Suggestions: We visited during the summer when the sun only set a night for a few hours. Blackout curtains would be a good addition to help sleep. Also, the desk staff should have a map of the nearest coffee shops and restaurants.

Drawbacks: There was a housekeeping service cart that stayed in the hallway during our two night stay. It was unsightly and partially blocked the hallway.

When we arrived there was a mix up with our room and took a while to find one for us. The person at the front desk was very apologetic and helpful in finding us a room despite the confusion. Breakfast was served each day down the hall on the same floor which was great. It was not included in the cost of the room though, so it was an extra charge. You get what you pay for!

This hotel was definitely in need of some upkeep. The room was mediocre and not very clean. The bathroom was really gross, especially the shower...one of those that you don't get into without flip flops and you try avoid touching anything. When we checked in and walked up to our room at 5pm, there were piles of dirty sheets sitting in the hallway. We thought they were in the middle of cleaning the rooms but all of the dirty laundry was still in the hallway when we left the next morning! Disgusting! Did the cleaning crew quit right after they took the dirty sheets of the beds? I would not stay at this hotel again.

Comfortable hotel out of the main city

Staff was very accommodating as we had traveled all night and had requested an early check-in if at all possible. They were able to grant this request even during the busy summer months and we were very grateful.

Reception was friendly. Everything is super expensive in Iceland, so a $200 per night room is equivalent to a motel room in the US, but it was comfortable and clean. There is really nothing in the neighborhood, you have to walk about 10 minutes to find an eatery. The 24 hours daylight caused insomnia.

Nice hotel in quiet area east of downtown.

Simple, comfortable, and, pleasant. This hotel isn't near any action, but is very convenient for parking and general activity.

Lack of elevator access to third floor, ugh.
Staff very accommodating (Usually only one working at any time) but would likely only do minimum unless asked.
At times common areas were not very clean.
A car is necessary or planning on public transport.
Would choose another hotel next time.

Good basic hotel

Good clean hotel. Out of the way with a 30/40 minute walk into the town. About 30 minute walk to the sea front. Breakfast was very sparse and wouldn't recommend as cos 2,000k. Better to buy from bakery. Beds were lovely and comfortable and staff very helpful when asked.

This was a comfortable hotel. It was about a mile away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but still close enough that you could walk there if you wanted to while also having the bus stop fairly close by. Friendly staff helped with recommendations of things to do nearby.
