I arrived in Helsinki on the Viking ferry late in the evening, and this hostel was an incredibly convenient stopover, just five minutes from the port. There's a 24-hour ALEPA grocery store nearby. The surrounding area is safe and quiet, and the reception is open 24/7, which was important to me as a solo traveler. While the hostel may appear simple at first glance, it’s well-equipped and has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. My room and linens were impeccably clean, and the shared areas were thoughtfully organized and well-maintained.

This is a basic no-frills budget hostel. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms convenient, it has a free sauna in the morning. It was a convenient location for everything I wanted to do in Helsinki and it's especially convenient for someone taking the Viking Line in or out of Helsinki. If you're noise sensitive, be aware the walls are super thin. I disturbed my neighbors next door while I was on a late night call back to the US and they disturbed me in their early morning checking out conversations. No one was doing anything with the intention to disturb, but the walls are just that thin. Otherwise, I would absolutely recommend.

Staff was great. The hall carpets look duty but I think there are just old. It’s a good location at least 15 mins walk to downtown. It’s great for the rates they have no more than two night, perhaps 3. I was promised an individual room and shared bathroom with other person, ended up sharing with everyone. The Sauna is advertise as free, but that’s is o my from 7am to 10 after that you pay 7 Euros.

Comfortable for a short stay

Comfortable short stay at a good price relative to Helsinki. The room was basic as expected. There is 1 bathroom for males and 1 for females per floor. They could’ve been kept cleaner and I imagine get busy in summer. Breakfast was a buffet of hot and cold options.

The staff are great and the location is also great. Unfortunately the budget rooms soundproofing isnt good so we heard the neighbours having loud sex most of the night. I think they were shooting a porno. But even when they were just talking we could hear every word. This was the last thing we needed after being stuck on a delayed train for 9 hours from Oulu.

This the second time I stay at Eurohostel. I love this place because it offers a reasonable price, it is walking distance from city center. The premises are very clean. There is a morning sauna free to use which is a great advantage and the place is very quiet. Staff is lovely and friendly. Next time I visit Helsinki I will stay at Euro Hostel.

Generally is a good place to be, breakfast is pooor without any option and if you have a special diet it might be difficult to cope with. The room was confortable but one thing that made me worried was the fact that I let the staff know that I was arriving in the middle of the night and when I got there, the door was locked, there was no one answering me knocking on the door for oer 10 mins in the cold and the phone didnt answer either.

Excellent value for money with breakfast included in room rate, easily 3-4* quality. Quiet spacious own room, Comfortable bed, Clean bedding and towel(can tell washed in hot water!)separate showers and toilets for ladies. The hostel is okay for only a couple of nights. The lightrail stop is right across the street which is good if you want access to the city centre which is a plus. The hostel itself is not the cleanest. The restrooms where pretty dirty throughout my stay. Not the worst hostel that I've ever stayed at, but also far from the best.

Stayed for a weekend with a friend. Check-in was quick and easy, and the rooms were clean and confortable. Location was good, in a quiet neighbourhood just a ten minute walk from the city centre, and with a tram stop right outside the hostel as well. This was my fifth visit, and it's always a great budget option, would definitely recommend

The room was good and clean but the bathroom was a joke.

The hostel offers good clean rooms. The kitchens were not as well equiped as some hostel kitchens but they have a fridge, microwave and cook top. They also have TVs if you like to watch the news while you cook/eat. The sauna is a great Finnish touch, I used it every day that I was there.

First time in a hostel w/a shared bathroom and it was fine! Eurohostel is clean, friendly, conveniently located right off two tram lines and walkable to the city center. People were cool, it's family friendly and the free sauna is nice. Would definitely book again.

Good for quick stay

Convenient place to stay for a night or two when you need somewhere cheap to stay. Compared to most of Helsinki hotels, prices are lower and the stay will be fine there. Don’t expect luxury but it has everything you need and bathrooms, showers, kitchen are quite clean. Location is convenient, city center ten min by tram. Nice parks by the shore close by

The room rate was very reasonable and we really liked the location, within easy walking distance of so many things to do (Market, Suomenlinna ferry, other downtown attractions). The staff was nice and the kitchen on our floor was pleasant and had seating so you could eat your self-cooked food right there in comfort.

It is a hostel and there are no ensuite bathrooms. What was interesting was that the men's was at one end and the women's at the other end, so no room could be said to be especially near or far from \"the bathrooms.\"

The thing I disliked most was that the shower doors were very high (bottom at around knee height), and there were no benches so I had to leave my shoes on the floor outside the stall. The shoes got wet. Definitely would have been better to wear flipflops, but we were space-constrained with our luggage so I had left mine at home.

I liked this place. The staff was friendly and helpful, the location was good, the cleanliness was great. Only strange thing was the bathroom. I didn't comfortable in the showers, it doesnt suit every culture. I think the doors should be replaced.

I came in super late and had to leave super early. The front desk was very helpful finding me train schedules and organizing taxi. I wish I had more time because the area looks very inviting to explore!! Affordable clean quiet and comfortable!!

Good place, very good service. Quiet room w TV. #607. 6th floor. Clean room and comfortable stay. Bed not a spring mattress, so a bit hard. But clean and fresh linen and towels. 1 table, 2 chairs. 2 closets. Window view towards harbor with morning Ferries. Shared shower room/bathrooms on floor. Kitchen with Mircowave, 4 heatplates, waterheater, refrigerator, pots, pans, plates, silverware, cups. 2 tables and TV. Open til 23:00. Nice free morning Sauna w showers and bathroom. Free paper sheets to sit on. Only soap, no shampoo. Lobby area w coffee machine and candy machine. Met people from all over the world. China, Malaysia, Russia, S.Korea...

Good location and budget friendly

Easy access to the tram and very nice reception staff. Shared pantry/kitchen needs to be cleaned but i guess this is more the fault of other guests not the hostel itself. There is a grocery store around 11 minutes down the block. Shared toilet and bathroom are clean as well.

This is the seventh time that I have stayed here.
They have made a lot of improvements since I was there in December 2017.
The number 4 tram to the centre and back stops around the corner.
They have a fridge that is shared using grocery boxes that you put your name and departure date on.
I will be staying here again the next time I go to Helsinki.

Good choice for budget travellers

Stayed here several times in recent years. Facilities are good, with lounge areas, guest kitchens and of course a sauna. Building is clean and well maintained throughout. City centre is a short walk away, or there's a tram stop just outside the door. A good choice for budget travellers, will definitely stay again.
