Great location, 10 min. walk to train station, museums, market and transit. It is the downtown. Right in it. Lots of choices. Courtyard room was very quiet.

The HOTEL BREAKFAST WAS THE BEST I’VE EVER HAD! (Yes it deserves capital letters). Great food, choices, Finnish traditional, and others with just Finnish flare. Hot and cold. Fresh in house baked bread. Fresh juices. 5 days and I ate different every day.

Great breakfast space. Relaxed. Didn’t crowd. Great staff and lots of them. Food was always fresh, hot, and kept up. Clearing of dishes and cleanliness was on it. Never wanting.

Without a doubt worth it. Honestly, I usually skip hotel breakfast, even if it’s included. I Wouldn’t skip on this. Great way to start the day. Best I’ve ever had.

Hotel bar was nice, nice vibe. Attracts people not staying in the hotel, which is always a good sign. Food from bar was very good too.

Overall great stay. Would recommend to friends, and would for sure stay again.

I had an excellent stay at the Hobo Hotel in Helsinki. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, giving you plenty of room to spread out and settle in — a rare treat for a city‑center hotel. Everything was spotless from the moment I walked in, and the cleanliness stayed consistent throughout my stay.

The staff deserves a special shout‑out. Every interaction, from check‑in to passing them in the halls during the day, was warm, positive, and genuinely welcoming. They set the tone for a great experience.

Make sure you carve out time to enjoy the Hobo Bar in the lobby. The atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming, and the food and drinks were truly stellar — far better than your typical hotel bar offerings.

Another bonus: the hotel sits right across from the iconic Fazer Café. Trust me, you’ll find yourself wandering over more than once for pastries, coffee, or a quick treat.

Overall, Hobo Hotel delivers comfort, style, and great hospitality in the heart of Helsinki. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the city.

Everything was awesome? That's lovely but isn’t helpful, right? The rooms were well appointed and trendy. The sort of thing that looks amazing if well-maintained. I look forward to many future stays at this property and hope that the natty design remains poopin fresh.

As for the staff: hearts of goodness, each one of them. I'm sure they deal with all forms of kind to crazy. They were truly gracious hosts at each interaction.

The bathroom is a dream. The entryway into my room was the size of many hotel rooms I've had in Japan. It made winter dressing and disrobing, a thankless sport, easier than what I experience at home. The open shelving and hanger situation is also a bit of genius allowing damp togs to dry and also allowing for visual organization and space to repack as items lose situational relevance during planned activities. I loved the desk window area, but spent no time using them because OUTSIDE was the reason to be in town.

I hope to plan more downtime into my next stay so I can take advantage of the well-appointed room, comfy bed, and shiny digs near many fun social eateries and activities.

Great stay for a solo traveller. It's bang in the city centre and a 5 minute walk to most places (e.g. train station, Senate Square and Helsinki Cathedral). The tram to/from West Terminal 2 Ferry is right outside so very convenient if you're going to/from Tallinn.

The room was lovely. The bed was comfy with nice bathroom facilities. Only 2 points is being earplugs if you're a light sleeper (some of the rooms point out to the main street which can get noisy at night) and there was a cold spot in my room which wasn't ideal during December. Maybe there was a fault with the thermostat?

Otherwise, great stay and I will consider staying here again if I ever visit Helsinki again.

We stayed at the Hobo Helsinki to visit the Christmas Markets in Senate Square. This was the perfect location as it is just a few minutes walk away. We took the tram from the port where we came in and it couldn’t have been easier. The hotel is decorated very well, feels welcoming and comfortable, was very clean, the room was fantastic, breakfast was one of the best we’ve had at a hotel, and the front desk attendant who checked us in was incredibly kind and helpful! Highly recommend!

The hotel is very well located, near the most must seen attractions on the city. The breakfast is great, with excellent choices. The coffee in the breakfast coffee machine is not so good, but there is an espresso coffee machine at the bar. I did not like the food on their restaurant, but there are another places to eat nearby.

Simple Large Rooms in Central Helsinki

Centrally located hotel in a rehabilitated office building. Relaxed vibe. Nice large room but scant amenities. Fridge? Second chair in a room with two beds? Desk? There was plenty of room just seems too pared down. But let me repeat, great central location. Excellent busy breakfast.

The rooms are decorated in a fun way and the hotel provides slippers, which is a really thoughtful touch. The breakfast was excellent and the same goes for the complimentary coffee and bar offerings. the staff is extremely helpful and kind. Simply put, a fantastic hotel in a beautiful city. I had a memorable time with my family and if I return to Helsinki, this is the first place I will look!

However, the AC was terrible and couldn't go below 23°C, which made the nights unbearably hot and difficult to sleep. Not ideal. A shame as it would have been an amazing hotel if this was changed.

This was the greatest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Large, clean, well-designed, comfortable, plenty of space to hang clothes and open our suitcases - I can't say enough good things about it. Excellent location - close to everything you need including the tram. The lobby bar was actually lively and had good beers, along with some late night snacks. A good hotel to come \"home\" to after a day of adventures.

It was probably the best value for a hotel in Europe I’ve had in a long time. Great space, clean, friendly staff, lovely breakfast (and the breakfast area is also very clean and well designed!). One of the best hotels we have stayed in our lives.

Free breakfast is exquisite.

The location is right where the action is.
Stores, bars, clubs and museums are walking distance.

Super clean. The staff is very kind, friendly and professional. I travel with my two boys and stayed in a double full beds room.

We were not disappointed - great location within walking distance to most attractions, clean comfortable room (we were aware of the policy of cleaning only when requested and this worked fine for us), excellent breakfast, very helpful staff....
