It was in the perfect location right near a tram stop, and the breakfast was fabulous. Our room was very clean and large.
Jennifer
This hotel is in a great location, not far from the railway station, with many restaurants and cafes nearby. It has quite a buzz - I think it suits younger people.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
I can’t comment on the breakfast as we didn’t have it. I thought I had included breakfast in the booking but somehow it wasn’t there.

Lovely hotel with vibrant atmosphere right in the heart of the city. Staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble from looking up weather forecast to printing boarding cards
Fantastic breakfast with plenty of fresh and tasty options. Would definitely stay again.

Very family friendly. Central location to shopping and short walk to attractions. If you want to be in the mix and still have kids at feet then this is a good spot.

The entire staff was friendly and helpful as well as the accommodations where great. Nice location and close to everything we needed
Vladimir
Every thing was very clean , the attention perfectly good
Jay
Bar was supposed to open all day but staff didn't want to serve. Very odd group environment the week we were there. Will not return.
Steven
They do not provide any water. If you want your room cleaned you must ask. When they do clean it they simply make the bed and provide towels. I had coffee and the dirty cup was still dirty. We checked in by going through a very lively bar that felt odd. It is in a great central location. All in all it is an okay hotel.
Emily
Great location. Clean and quiet rooms. Definitely recommend for a first time visit to Helsinki
Karri
Great location and loved the vibe
Sehar
Perfect location, modern and edgy decor and proximity to trains and trams.

I traveled solo to helsinki and can say this hotel was 10/10 experience.
Staff was kind, rooms were stunning and spacious, and the whole vibe was cool/modern and great to meet people.

After years coming to Helsinki we have found our favourite place to stay; convenient location, cool interiors with classic designs, great amenities and very friendly staff.
Rooms were very comfortable and breakfast had everything we hoped for.
Thanks Hobo -we will return!

The best in Helsinki, have been there 30+ times
Andrew
GOOD BITS: Very good location. Warm welcome. Very comfortable, spacious room with plenty of storage, very comfy bed. Very good, well-stocked breakfast buffet (if a little chaotic).
NOT SO GOOD BITS: Room wasn’t all that clean (hair, nail clippings, make up on bathroom wall), and Friday night music was thumping through the room (maybe just a one off for Pride, but having been travelling since 4am, wasn’t great)

Spacious room with good size washroom. Very quiet for sleeping. The buffet breakfast had many options and really started the day well. It is a central as you can get in Helsinki. I would definitely book here if I was coming to Helsknki.
Susan
Great breakfast; loved the larger space of the studio

Lovely hotel situated in the city centre. All the main sites are within walking distance and lots of restaurants nearby.
We stayed in a Twin Room for 3 nights and it was the right size for us. The youngish staff were friendly enough and helpful. Aircon in the room which was fairly easy to operate and there is a bidet in the toilet. Our room had no safe which was a bit annoying. Single bed was comfortable except the pillows were a bit flat. The view from our room was not the best but too much of an issue for me. Hairdryer and steamer are in the room along with a helpful umbrella. Slippers need to be requested (for free). TV options are limited with only CNN in English. Rooms are only cleaned upon request.
Breakfast area was large and plenty of options to pick from including the lovely blueberry juice. There could have been more vegetarian options but the beans in the sauce were great. Cookies were fantastic and the hotel actually sell them as well.
The gym had some good equipment and was not too busy when I used it. Business conferences do take place at the hotel so can possibly get busy at times.
I am Expedia VIP member but only got a 20% discount for food and drink, which I feel Expedia could do better on.
Overall, we had a great 3-night stay in a conveniently located hotel which provided all the necessary things we needed.

Whilst I only had a one-night stay here, I had a lovely and relaxing time. The team were all very helpful and friendly, plus the Sleeper room was super comfortable. I’ll definitely be back for a longer stay!

Paul
Really loved our stay. Great location, great room and amenities, nice bar/room downstairs, great filling buffet breakfast, and helpful and friendly staff. If we come to Helsinki again then we'll stay here again also!
Joseph
Very clean room, great breakfast, happening place in great central location
Andrew
Very central location, quirky vibe, very friendly staff. Good breakfast selection and good bar food. Great room with really good shower facilities!
Jeffrey
Great hotel, fun layout and decor, and great location
Ian
Room was giant, clean and very comfortable. Very good breakfast. The gym is in the basement and pretty good for a hotel gym. Staff were superb - an item I had forgotten in the room on checkout day was waiting for me at the front desk when I came to collect my bag.
Jeffrey
Location and value is excellent. Great breakfast, helpful staff, nice public spaces and the twin room was amazingly large for the location. Close to everything in Helsinki.
Neil
Good stay in very central location. Standard modern hotel room, everything worked. Room was on the small side. First-rate breakfast with lots of variety.
Patricia
The location is great and walkable to many points of interest. The staff were helpful and we were upgraded to a large room due to our hotels.com membership.
Susan
Outstanding breakfast with huge variety of choices.
The staff everywhere - front desk, dining room, bar were all pleasant and helpful!
We were very impressed with the Hobo Hotel; it's location was excellent for getting around and seeing the inner city, near the Esplanade for relaxing and people watching.
Will definitely recommend you to others.

Great location, Staff and room. 100% recommend!
Paul
A good hotel that I found to be well located for all I wanted to do. Just a pleasant 10 minute stroll to the central rail station and a number of trams also pass nearby. It’s a place that tries to be different, in a relaxed kind of way and they do it well. Room was simple but fine. Breakfast was good - would have liked a better choice of yoghurt rather than simply Greek - but if that the main issue then they are doing ok. Tried supper one evening in the bar and they did a good job on a simple spicy salami pizza. Dough was superb and topping was better than expected. So yes would recommend and use again if I pop back to Helsinki.
Jordan
The room was large and clean with comfortable beds. The hotel had a very fun atmosphere right in the middle of town. Very walkable to quiet a few restaurants and sites.
Fiona
Loved this hotel. A newish hotel in a refurbished building in a central location. Walkable from the railway station ? ~10 - 15 mins) . 25 mins walk to Viking Line port Terminal.
Very stylish and quirky decor. Great facilities in the really clean room with comfy bed The bar /restaurant downstairs serves good, reasonably priced food. (Pizza, salads, burgers,) Cocktails are a specialty.
Excellent selection at breakfast - best scrambled eggs!

Excellent hotel in a central location. Room was spotless clean. I had a corner room with a beautiful view. Breakfast was lovely and I ate in the bar on both occasions. Staff were super helpful and friendly - they even got me a coffee at 4:30am when I checked out. I would highly recommend this hotel and I look forward to returning.

We loved our stay! It was in the perfect location, the staff were so friendly, and the room had everything we needed (and more!). We appreciated that there were two separate bathroom areas and that the front desk had a baggage scale we could borrow while packing.
Joanne
Really lovely hotel in the centre of Helsinki. Great staff and facilities. Amazing bar and restaurant. The breakfast was out of this world!
Kristin
Absolutely fantastic stay. The staff were friendly. Breakfast buffet was very good. Many beautiful hip places to read or people watch. Great lockers for luggage. 10/10

The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was a great stay! Would definitely recommend especially for solo travelers. Felt very safe!

Hotel and room were clean. Bed was very nice. Simple rooms, but nothing lacking. Hotel medium sized, which I loved. Very nice space.
Great location, 10 min. walk to train station, museums, market and transit. It is the downtown. Right in it. Lots of choices. Courtyard room was very quiet.
The HOTEL BREAKFAST WAS THE BEST I’VE EVER HAD! (Yes it deserves capital letters). Great food, choices, Finnish traditional, and others with just Finnish flare. Hot and cold. Fresh in house baked bread. Fresh juices. 5 days and I ate different every day.
Great breakfast space. Relaxed. Didn’t crowd. Great staff and lots of them. Food was always fresh, hot, and kept up. Clearing of dishes and cleanliness was on it. Never wanting.
Without a doubt worth it. Honestly, I usually skip hotel breakfast, even if it’s included. I Wouldn’t skip on this. Great way to start the day. Best I’ve ever had.
Hotel bar was nice, nice vibe. Attracts people not staying in the hotel, which is always a good sign. Food from bar was very good too.
Overall great stay. Would recommend to friends, and would for sure stay again.

Hobo hotel is an excellent choice when visiting Helsinki. Central location, amazing rooms and common areas. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely a 5 star stay.

Excellent hotel, I would have been happy to stay longer than one night. Self check-in worked well and was convenient. Hobo Sleeper was a great size for a solo traveller. Nice big bathroom with a quality shower. All the facilities I needed. Breakfast was high quality with some nice Finnish choices to try.
Kareen
The nicest staff. Spacious and clean room. Excellent breakfast!
Maksim
Clean room with comfortable bedding and a great shower. Bar was a bit too expensive.
Ruth
The room was an excellent size, spotlessly clean and with a great selection of amenities. It was quiet and wonderfully warm (but not too hot). The breakfast selection was incredible and delicious. The bathroom was a great size, the shower was powerful and warm. Would recommend to everyone!
Shannon
Room was nice, no coffee in the room which seems to be a pretty standard thing at most hotels.

I had an excellent stay at the Hobo Hotel in Helsinki. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, giving you plenty of room to spread out and settle in — a rare treat for a city‑center hotel. Everything was spotless from the moment I walked in, and the cleanliness stayed consistent throughout my stay.
The staff deserves a special shout‑out. Every interaction, from check‑in to passing them in the halls during the day, was warm, positive, and genuinely welcoming. They set the tone for a great experience.
Make sure you carve out time to enjoy the Hobo Bar in the lobby. The atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming, and the food and drinks were truly stellar — far better than your typical hotel bar offerings.
Another bonus: the hotel sits right across from the iconic Fazer Café. Trust me, you’ll find yourself wandering over more than once for pastries, coffee, or a quick treat.
Overall, Hobo Hotel delivers comfort, style, and great hospitality in the heart of Helsinki. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the city.

Nice boutique hotel that was comfy and enjoyed the friendliness of the staff. Like the bar downstairs. Wasn't able to enjoy breakfast as I left very early in the morning.

Everything was awesome? That's lovely but isn’t helpful, right? The rooms were well appointed and trendy. The sort of thing that looks amazing if well-maintained. I look forward to many future stays at this property and hope that the natty design remains poopin fresh.
As for the staff: hearts of goodness, each one of them. I'm sure they deal with all forms of kind to crazy. They were truly gracious hosts at each interaction.
The bathroom is a dream. The entryway into my room was the size of many hotel rooms I've had in Japan. It made winter dressing and disrobing, a thankless sport, easier than what I experience at home. The open shelving and hanger situation is also a bit of genius allowing damp togs to dry and also allowing for visual organization and space to repack as items lose situational relevance during planned activities. I loved the desk window area, but spent no time using them because OUTSIDE was the reason to be in town.
I hope to plan more downtime into my next stay so I can take advantage of the well-appointed room, comfy bed, and shiny digs near many fun social eateries and activities.
A great small chain find.

Everything was great . The room is a bit small but very neat and well warmed. I loved the shower and toilet. There are an steam maker that helped us ironing our overcoat and it was more than our expectation. There were not any slipper and safebox in the room.
Rakesh
Prefect location for getting around. The staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean.

Super comfy beds and friendly staff!

Lovely central hotel. Very comfortable quiet room. Breakfast at 25 Euro is too expensive for Helsinki! Also would like to be able to open the windows to air the room and a fridge would have been handy.
Christopher
The bar was great

Great stay for a solo traveller. It's bang in the city centre and a 5 minute walk to most places (e.g. train station, Senate Square and Helsinki Cathedral). The tram to/from West Terminal 2 Ferry is right outside so very convenient if you're going to/from Tallinn.
The room was lovely. The bed was comfy with nice bathroom facilities. Only 2 points is being earplugs if you're a light sleeper (some of the rooms point out to the main street which can get noisy at night) and there was a cold spot in my room which wasn't ideal during December. Maybe there was a fault with the thermostat?
Otherwise, great stay and I will consider staying here again if I ever visit Helsinki again.

We stayed at the Hobo Helsinki to visit the Christmas Markets in Senate Square. This was the perfect location as it is just a few minutes walk away. We took the tram from the port where we came in and it couldn’t have been easier. The hotel is decorated very well, feels welcoming and comfortable, was very clean, the room was fantastic, breakfast was one of the best we’ve had at a hotel, and the front desk attendant who checked us in was incredibly kind and helpful! Highly recommend!
Jacqueline
Great experience. Staff answered all my questions and were very accomodating

It was clean. The location was perfect. The people were wonderful and kind. The beds are very comfortable. They even had umbrellas in the room for you to use. Very easy check in and check out.

The hotel is very well located, near the most must seen attractions on the city. The breakfast is great, with excellent choices. The coffee in the breakfast coffee machine is not so good, but there is an espresso coffee machine at the bar. I did not like the food on their restaurant, but there are another places to eat nearby.
Tanya
Loved this hotel! Stylish and great amenities and location
Jason
