One Night in Helsinki
The hotel is centrally located so it's walkable to the main downtown area. Theres also a supermarket across the street. The codes are only activated at the ckeck-in time, so plan your arrival at that time. And remeber your code - you need to use it three timea to get into the building, floor, room. The communication from the customer service was fantastic.

Shower water is only warm. If you want a hot shower, you must use the bidet shower from the toilet since this is the only way to get hot water. The downside is that you have to squat the whole time and it does not feel very hygienic to spray your face with the same bidet which you just used to your other parts.
You cannot open the windows, so you don’t get any fresh air. I had to suffer all night since the AC only blows air into the room, and my nose got stuffed because of this.
I did not feel safe, since there were often some sketchy people hanging around at the front door of the hotel. The problem is that they can easily see when you enter the code to the lobby door, and the same code also works for your room. So if they see you entering the code and follow you to the same floor where your room is, they could get into your room anytime.
Good:
Fridge, instant coffee, water boiler, TV, internet, plenty of towels, soap and lots of toilet paper, decent bed, 4 good pillows, huge windows with lots of sunlight, and an electric plug next to the bed.
My conclusion:
I would rather spend my money renting a private apartment in the Tapiola district for the same cost

This is a good hotel to stay the rooms are big. They don’t have staff onsite it’s all automatically done. I have no issues but I saw other people having issues. It is located about 10 minutes walking from the senate square/old town. There are lots of restaurants convenient stores, mall, and even a super expensive stripe club. The down side they don’t offer storage for your bags and the checking is at 4 pm. I will stay here again

The room was fairly basic, but had all we needed, and was perfectly fine for our 3-night stay. The virtual reception was no issue with all instructions sent via email and text message as instructed. Very handy to public transport and food shops.

It’s cheap and the neighborhood is close to the town center but then so is the park bench at Old Church Park. This experience has taught me, no matter how affordable, that you can’t run a hotel WITHOUT staff to offer help and service.

Central hotel easy to walk to the centre. Check in process is awful as you have to go ok online and do it before in order to receive a pin number which you use for your entire stay to get into the hotel and room. No reception so no help if you need it. The room is adequate, had a microwave and fridge which was great. Shower water was lukewarm. Bed comfortable and TV great. Lots of space.

Upon arrival we found numerous hairs in the shower, and the surface above the bed was sticky and dusty, obviously not cleaned. There was a huge stain on the bed. Website advertised the room as having 1 double bed, however there were two very thin mattresses and two thin single duvets, not ideal for couples, very misleading. We had to ask for extra duvets since those given to us were so thin. They did not respond to this until our final night, even then only gave us one extra thin single blanket. Definitely won’t be staying here again.

Pros: Very clean, the bed area and 'living room' (second bedroom) was spacious. The bed was VERY uncomfortable. The microwave, kettle, fridge, and hair dryer were great and helpful amenities. I liked the red color. I liked having a code to enter the apartment and building instead of having to hold onto a key or card.

the room and the toilet smelled terrible. bedsheet wasn't clean. everything in the room was tidy but not clean at all. hair was everywhere in bed. and the mattress was in terrible condition. the only good thing about it was the location. it's very close to city centre. this is not a hotel, it's a dormitory, people were making noise in the corridor until the late night.

Fantastic location but not ideal with a baby didn't realize that was only cleaned once a week. We did request the bins emptied which they did the following day but that's was all they did in the room. Also woke to the floor wet the last day we the Aircon leaked alot over night

It shouldn’t be called as a hotel. It’s more like a dormitory or hostel. People were in the corridor made noise in the night and I couldn’t sleep well, even some of them knocked on my door a few times and as a solo female traveler I didn’t feel safe(there is no reception to call). The toilet and bedsheets were smelly and not clean. The only good thing about this hotel is the location.

Hi, we stayed this night in your hotel (Omena Hotel Helsinki Lonnrotinkatu) and the experience was really bad. One of the chair bed was broken (the mid part of the bed construction). So it was impossible to sleep in that bad for one of our teenager :(

The automatic check-in system is great except when it breaks so we are all stuck outside! Someone came out and informed us it was 'being updated' and we were able to get in. Rooms themselves and spacious and well equipped, and very quiet considering the central location.

What a fabulous hotel in the absolute heart of Helsinki City Centre. Check in is fuss-free and flawless. The rooms are clean, functional and have everything you need. Beds surprisingly comfy! Hotel incredibly quiet. Good shower, functional bathroom. Amenities included - tea, coffee, shower gel, shampoo etc. This place made our stopover in Helsinki thoroughly enjoyable and we can not recommend it enough!

Great, cheap hotel, close to centre, with park and small shop and cafes around, a great place to stay. Our 18 and 19 year olds slept on the fold out beds on the floor which were fine. It was a little tight, but that was fine. Code was emailed to me and entry was very easy, as great system.
