Lovely hotel in central Helsinki with very friendly staff and an excellent buffet.
The only point I would make is that perhaps certain parts of the room I was staying in could've done with a little more attention - dust on top shelves etc. Bathroom was spotless!

Wonderful And Economical Place To Stay in Helsinki

I enjoyed my stay here very much. The location is great - close to downtown, close to the ferry terminal, close to transit. The staff is very friendly and helpful - will call you a taxi if you need one. The free breakfast buffet is extensive with choices for every single taste - you’d probably have to pay at least 20 euros somewhere else. The room was comfortable and there was a nice Finnish sauna. The only thing is that if you are going to be there for more than one day, you need to arrange for housekeeping, as apparently they don’t automatically clean the rooms each day. But I would definitely stay here again and recommend it!

We took an overnight boat from Saint Petersburg to Helsinki and arrived in the morning. The hotel was about 20 min walk from the ferry terminal and located about 10 min walk to the city centre. The breakfast was great with an omelette station. The room was modern and clean. We used the sauna which was located in the basement. Overall I would recommend this hotel. Food in Helsinki is expensive so be warned. To get around the city we hired city bikes for 5 euros a day which was great.

Good experience until the moment we checked out. We checked out early morning (around 4:30am) and the guy at the reception desk had a serious attitude problem. First, saying we haven’t paid (tho we did pay in full when we booked), telling us to pay again (took my credit card), then not even apologizing for being so rude when I showed him my confirmation email.

Cozy, comfortable, and affordable accommodation!

This hotel offered a very comfortable lobby and friendly and efficient check-in. The staff greeted me warmly, served me free coffee and snacks while I waited for my room, and helped me with any need. The location was ideal for walking to various parts of the city within minutes and there were diverse restaurants from which to choose. The price was also a bargain for the quality. The only downside was the street was noisy one of the 3 nights I stayed due to loud guests. Otherwise, highly recommended.

We only stayed one night, but would recommend this hotel for it's reasonable price and good location for us to see Helsinki on foot. The room was very clean. Our double room was two single beds pushed together but was very comfortable and quiet.

Good hotel about 15 mins walk from the centre

I stayed in a single room. Bed size was generous (small double) and a good amount of space. Furniture and bathroom were well-designed to maximise this. Hotel was quiet and the downstairs restaurant does a surprisingly good pizza. This is not a 'luxury' hotel - about the standard of a Premier Inn but with better design. Front desk staff were helpful and the room was spotless. It took 15-20 minutes to walk to the railway station.

It's a good business type hotel, staff are friendly, food is good and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. It is only a 5-10 minute leisurely stroll from the centre of Helsinki and if you are doing business with ECHA it's the perfect place to stay.

The staff at this is outstanding!

The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Not only were they knowledgeable about local attractions and transportation but when we told them that we had to leave before breakfast to make an early flight, they said they would have some sandwiches prepared and waiting for us the next morning. When we checked out at 7 AM, they had three generous sandwiches for us as well as coffee and tea.

Hotel was clean in a nice area of Helsinki. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was warn but professional. Room was tidy and comfortable. I would have liked to have used the sauna facilities, but the open times were restricting for us, perhaps another option for private sauna bookings could be good.

A very nice breakfast with lots of fresh fruit and nuts and muesli and hot options too - I liked the vegetable gratin thing. The coffee needed work so I drank tea!
Room was comfortable and clean.
It is located near a tram stop (No. 6 tram) and within walking distance (15 mins) of a big bus station (Kaampi?)

1)Nice hotel tucked away on a quiet street. Not situated in the city centre-more than 10 minutes fast-walking distance from the cental railway station. Bus from the airport dropped us very-near the cental station. 2)Could not find tea and/or coffee, which are available(free) in most hotels, but buffet breakfast was really GOOD 3)No bellmen to help with our luggage. Overall rating: Not excellent, but had a good stay.

Great place with good prices

This place was great for the price. Wonderful breakfast, great restaurant/bar for the rest of the day. Concierge was great, everyone spoke fluent or decent english which was great. The rooms are fantastic and spacious. For some reason I did not get maid service in my room, though I do know that I turned off my do not disturb sign. The rooms are really quite cold in the winter and the heater does not go very high so that was a problem, especially because I was not feeling well and did not want to get any sicker. Wish I had had time for the sauna. Great place, but bring a sweater. Also - if you are looking for a private tour of the city (not the bus/tram which is most popular but less personal) the concierge does not know of any options, but a simple internet search will reveal a couple of small companies that offer tours.

Very pleasant stay

I had a very pleasant stay. The only issue I had was with the climate control in the room: I was cold and wanted to turn up the heating; I called reception who told me I should follow the instructions which I would find in my room; I couldn't find the instructions anywhere. Admittedly I could have called again but it was getting late so I just used an extra blanket.

About 1km walk to central railway station with access to many buses and trams and shopping. It was nice to be tucked away a little and explore the small side streets as we found very cool cafes, markets and bars that we wouldn't have stumbled being located more central. Trams very easy to use, paying the driver on board and several do big loops around and though the city past the main sights. Hotel has a sauna and reasonable buffet breakfast. Nice bar and friendly staff. Rooms were a good size, big wall tv and comfy bed. Hotel restaurant does takeaway which is a cheaper option than the €12 room service charge.

A wonderfull hotel tucked away on a queit street. It's close enough to everything, but just far enough away. The staff are amazing and the breakfast, which is a buffet style is first class. This is the second time I have stayed at Hotel Albert, and when I next go back to Helsinki I will be staying there again.

Practical for those whom active exploring outside

What was good about the room of this hotel: It was almost noise-free! Once the door is shut, you hardly hear no noise from other rooms or the corridor. Even very sensitive insomniac like myself can enjoy a deep instant sleep.
Also Sauna: I have compared the saunas for this Hotel (Sokos Albert), vis-a-vis its nearby sister hotel just 100m up north (Sokos Aleksanteri) - the facility of this hotel was more spacious, friendly and pleasant. Only problem was that ours was open only during the morning, while the one at Aleksanteri was open only during the evening. (However, private arrangement to use it during the evening seems to be possible). The lobby/lounge area was also very cozy, with a classical library like atmosphere. The reception staff were attentive, polite and helpful. The only negative impression I've had: As soon as the closing time for Breakfast has passed, the restaurant staff started vacuum cleaning etc. While it is understandable that they need to prepare the dining room for the lunch time operation, they could have done it more sensibly and discretely, to give us a room to complete our holiday breakfast! Also, I would have liked to have a complete closet to hang/store my clothes, rather than a bulky open shelf. I had to use the ironing board of the room in order to supplement lack of storage space.

Great hotel

Sokos Hotel Albert is tucked away a short walk from the main areas of Helsinki. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the beds are larger than in most hotels meaning my tall husband was able to have a good nights sleep. The breakfast spread is brilliant and the staff are very polite and always happy to help.

This was out second time of staying at the Albert and when I go back to Helsinki I will be staying at the Albert again.

CHECK IN AT THE BAR

The receptionist at the reception desk of this mediocre hotel doubles as the bartender so you'll wait forever to check in or check out...or even ask a question since the bar patrons seem to take precedence over the \"guests.\" Also, no bellmen to help with luggage nor, it goes without saying, is there anyone to show you to your room. Perhaps most galling of all, if you send out laundry (perhaps the most expensive laundry of any hotel in the world) it's not delivered to your room after it's cleaned. Instead, the same receptionist/bartender is also the laundry person. TERRIBLE! Checked out as soon as I could.

Parking garage is very small and was not available for my car at time of my visit,so confirm beforehand if your are travelling with a car as parking is a pain in Helsinki

the staff were helpful right from the start and dealt efficiently and pleasantly with any questions or requests for help. There was no means in my room for making a morning cup of tea, which I like, but as soon as i mentioned it a tray appeared with kettle,tea and coffee etc. The single room was quite adequate for my needs, pleasant and quiet. it was not a room for lounging in but had a comfortable chair and table. Excellent bathroom. The restaurant was good - I ate there twice for an evening meal and always for breakfast, which catered for varied tastes. One thing which worried me was the discontinuities in the floor level in the reception and restaurant area. I stumbled twice when carrying something in front of me and my daughter fell holding a baby and bruised her knee. I think this needs some attention.

Nice hotel but nothing special. In a good location, not in the city centre but a short, easy walk. We went to an Italian restaurant one night (on the road with the tram lines that leads towards the city centre), the food was amazing. Not cheap but worth every penny! Breakfast at the hotel was a let down and out of the four or so members of staff only one was friendly! Helsinki itself was great and if you're just after a base this hotel is fine.

We absolutely liked the hotel. Although there were somethings that we would have renewed, they were VERY few, and our overall impression of the hotel is great! When we booked, a friend of ours booked Hotel Anna, and when I compared prices I realised it was only 8 euros cheaper so I decided not tore-book. BUT once we arrived and hat a look at sokos Albert and then dropped our friend at Anna, On my! I was SO glad I hadn't changed my mind! Albert is MUCH NICER!
Our room looked very new. The shower was spotlessly clean, i could see it had been either recently re-done or it was so perfectly maintained because even the white cement between the shower tiles was spotless and not a single dark speck of mould or dirt there (althouh this is the place where you normally see these things!)
The room was very cosy, with a nice green round carpet:) I liked the modern style of the interior and new furtinure. The bed was VERY comfortable. just the right kind of soft/hard.
Also, their wi-fi is free, to bring your laptop:))
Breakfast was not the best in my life by variety and choice, but it was fresh and hot:)
All thumbs up for this place!

Hotel Sokos Albert was in a good location being in the Design District of Helsinki. It was a minutes walk to the nearest tram stop which went to the centre of Helsinki and the train station within approximately five minutes. Breakfast which was included was plentiful and a good start to the day. Bearing in mind the cost of eating out in Helsinki its probably a good idea to have a filling breakfast before you set out for the day. The staff were friendly and helpful. Now the not brilliant part - I specifically chose a hotel which had a restaurant and offered room service. However, on arrival I was told by the receptionist that as it was the Easter holidays the restaurant would be closed for my entire stay. I also asked for extra towels for my room which never arrived. The day before I left the maid did a very cursory clean of my room and in fact if she hadn't taken away a dirty towel I wouldn't have known she had been to my room at all. These are minor quibbles and I would recommend this hotel if you want to be in the heart of the Design District of Helsinki.

La chambre était propre et spacieuse. Avec tout le nécessaire, jusqu'au mouchoir.
J'ai adoré qu'il y a eu un frigo que je puisse remplir à ma guise point ainsi que une bouilloire avec de quoi boire.
