The shower and bed were top notch. I wish my shower worked that well at home. Lol. When I told front desk that I needed a taxi to the airport at 4am he actually reserved me a taxi and told me the price I would pay for the ride and then he said he would get me some breakfast before I left. A couple of hours later ten minutes before 4am I saw this decent breakfast spread in the lobby (something far better than I could make). I quickly got a coffee and yogurt. I easily could have eaten more things there. That's the kind of service that's exceptional and if I'm back in Helsinki I will be staying at this hotel again. Thank you for your excellent service.

Comfortable, stylish hotel with very good facilities. Room was spacious and provided superb views. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, breakfast choices were extensive and plentiful. Skyroom bar provides great views across Helsinki and serves a wide range of drinks. The city centre was only a short tram ride away. The only negative during our stay was the supposed allocation of time slots for breakfast, which was not implemented and resulted in chaos on the Saturday morning.

Good hotel with some areas for improvements

Nice rooms, however one of the two rooms we stayed in was distinctly smaller than the other. The blackout blinds were suboptimal with openings on the sides that were hard to fix/plug. The relax area and swimming pool was top notch. We could hear the trams even though we were on floor 7, albeit not a major issue. Whilst hotel a bit out of city centre, several tram lines outside the hotel which take you to most places in Helsinki. Nice breakfast.

I enjoyed my 3 night weekend stay very much and am happy I took a friend’s recommendation to stay at Clarion during my time in Helsinki.

I appreciated the later breakfast times finishing at 11:00AM and the facilities (scenic rooftop sauna and pool) on offer.

However, during my last morning before checking out I went up to the spa area at 11:00AM to use the facilities but was told after only just entering the pool by staff that the area was closing for maintenance until 15:00. I appreciate this is a necessary requirement, but I would suggest changing the maintenance times a bit later to allow guests to have the full morning to use the facilities.

Close to restaurants, supermarkets and several tram stops. Walkable to the the Eckerö Line ferry terminal and the city centre (with a coffee stop).

Our room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom/shower excellent. The room could probably do with something on the wall as it was a bit stark, but that is a non issue and had no impact on our stay.

Considering the size of the hotel (you can see it from miles around) it was really quiet throughout our stay.

The AC/climate control system in the room is a bit fiddly but it works and was very much appreciated (it was surprisingly hot in Helsinki when we visited).

The internet speed was decent and the wifi easy to connect to.

As is typical in Clarion hotels, the breakfast spread was exceptional. There was a lot of great food to choose from.

Would definitely stay again.

Limited menu in restaurant. Nice food though and at breakfast, but breakfast experience terrible. So overcrowded on Saturday and Sunday that there were no tables free at all. Very greedy clientele eating vast amounts of food for the whole day.
Clean room but sugar coffee etc not topped up. Rooftop bar very good with good cocktails. Location good right by a tram stop with 3 lines.

Usually I don’t write many reviews but this I have to do it.
This hotel is 10 out of 10.
The staff is super friendly and smiling and make small jokes 😊
The breakfast is on top. Everything you need.
The pool, sauna and gym were really well maintained, very clean and a nice place to spent some free time.
There was drinking water everywhere.
The sky bar is also a beautiful fancy place to see the sunset and have a nice cocktail.
The rooms are very spacious, beds very comfortable and very clean.
The view of the hotel is breathtaking - very panoramic. It is also located literally next to the public transport.

If I visit Helsinki again, I will definitely stay here 😊

Great location to access Helsinki city centre. Well connected by tram to centre but only a short walk away. Loved the rooftop sauna and pool! The breakfast had a huge selection of food to fill you with energy for your day touristing! The room was a nice size with very comfortable beds and remained at a decent temperature...not too warm or cold.

Standards monitoring by management?

My third stay at this hotel. Unfortunately this time I was given a very grubby room, the floors were dirty and worn and the room door and bathroom door had large dents on them like someone had hacked on to them with a tool?? And it has been badly repaired with some kind of paste. I am not sure if these rooms are inspected regularly as it would be a quick job to change the doors. I find it odd at a 4 star hotel there isn’t even a spoon in the room or any standard tea. The breakfast is consistently good and food items are high quality and fresh. There was little wardrobe space to hang the clothes. If you want comfort and space you must book an upgrade not the standard room. The level of cleanliness has unfortunately gone down from last visit, and the corridor carpets in floor 8 at least had stains on them. This hotel is worth it if you book the more expensive rooms and take full advantage of the sauna and breakfast facilities. Very easy reach to town centre, less than 10 mins on the tram from just outside the hotel.

I travel with 2 Ados, but was offered a two bed room setting only, I needed to pay for an extra bed. I didn't check the room setting while booking, but I was expecting to have room reservation based on number of travelers. The breakfast was good, but it's the same for each day without any variation.

Here’s a Great location for catching the ferry to Tallinn. The hotel is quiet, spotless, and well-maintained. The breakfast spread was outstanding, offering a great variety. While there’s not much to do in the immediate area, the staff were very helpful and professional. The Sky Bar and pool were definite highlights, adding a nice touch to the stay. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

It’s a really nice hotel with good amenities. The sauna was great and the breakfast was wonderful. The only thing that disappointed me was no furniture like a dresser in the room to clothes in during our stay. That was true at another hotel in Copenhagen so maybe it’s a Nordic thing.

Perfect place to visit the marina area and for us a two night stay for a day trip to Tallin on the ferry/cruise.
An easy walk. It was quiet. A fantastic breakfast, and even a sweet note from the lady who serviced our room 1036 - thank you for that ;D.

We parked our car at a near by garage and that worked out well too.

A disappointing stay at best!

We had high hope for a short staycation at the Clarion Hotel in Helsinki, but weren't very impressed with the service at the hotel, the room's cleanliness, the breakfast or the famed rooftop heated pool and sauna.

Of all the issues we encountered, finding a bunch of hair in the drain of our shower (see disgusting picture), the so called heated rooftop pool being barely lukewarm and men's sauna being full over loud drunk men (hardly a pyhäpaikka!), and the breakfast gluten-free bread options actually being stale were the most unforgettable.

A warning to any celiacs eating breakfast here, the kitchen has two toasters next to one another - one apparently for regular bread and the other dedicated for gluten-free. Aside from the risk of cross-contamination, the fact that a member of the staff had to direct the chef on which toaster to use doesn't fill this guest with confidence!

I won't be rushing back to stay at the Clarion again!

Great property that is clean and modern. Oddly though pool and sauna area get closed down betwewn 11am and 3pm, so was a little dissappointed when we were turned back.

Staff have typically northern attitude, in that you do not know whether they are intentionally angry at you, rude and unhelpful or they are just like that.

One thing that annoyed was inability to get our room cleaned while we were out. It was only at 5pm on a workday when room service knocked on the door to offer to clean-up. In this are hotel could do better!

There needs to be more transparency from the hotel staff to the customers upon check in of the fees related to check out. I was charged 10 Euro for departing my room at 1224 pm. Late check out fee was not brought to my attention by the staff upon check in. I’ve never had a hotel charge me for leaving my room less than 30 mins late and I’m an avid traveler. I felt very taken advantage of.

Very nice hotel, the rooftop gym, sauna, pool and sky bar are priceless. The food is fresh and delicious. We got a coupon for champagne discount we drank at the rooftop bar with a night view of Helsinki! Very close to Terminal 2 where we took My Star ferry to Tallinn! Overall I will give 5 stars

Poolen var inte tillräckligt uppvärmd och bastun var kall. Bastun blev inte varm trots att vi slängde på rejält med vatten, det läckte in kall luft mellan brädorna i ryggen. Bastu och pool var anledningen till att vi bokade just detta hotell och då blev det en besvikelse vilket drar ner på mitt omdöme. I övrigt var hotellet fantastiskt.
