This was a very frustrating experience. We had to cancel our trip to Helsinki because of a serious personal emergency. We promptly notified the property, but they were unresponsive for three days before finally telling us that the booking couldn't be canceled. We are very disappointed that we lost our money and the property showed no willingness to help us during a difficult time.

Great hotel with great location

Great hotel with great breakfast. The location is excellent as it’s close to the market and metro. The receptionist Ella is super helpful. We had dinner on the last night and they brought out a cake for our grandma’s birthday. Will definitely stay again

Holiday Inn Helsinki West- Ruoholahti

Enjoyed a 4 night stay mainly to watch the UEFA Supercup match.

Was given room 807 on the 8th floor, what a fantastic view over the water, park and in the distance could see the Olympic Stadium Tower.

The room was very comfortable, nice comfortable double bed, large tv, fridge, usual kettle, ironing items, digital safe and slippers/housecoats.

I plugged in my Amazon firestick to the hdmi port on the tv so then had access to Netflix/Amazon video etc The wifi was very strong.

Breakfast in the morning was plentiful with a good selection of items, the morning after the uefa match myself and I think many others slept in, I went down at 0930 and was difficult to find a seat for breakfast however the staff working done a fantastic job in clearing tables and keeping fresh food available, big well done to them!

Hotel location is just out of the main area but only two stops on the metro and your in the main train station, or the bus outside take you in too. Outside the hotel there’s always been plenty of these e-scooters which are handy to ride to the metro station or for me to hesburger! There’s also a small supermarket across from the hotel for stocking up snacks etc

For transportation I downloaded the HSL app so bought tickets using the app, also I used Uber/Bolt apps for taxis. If you use Bolt then use my referral “RONNIEKPZ” I used bolt from the hotel to the airport and cost was €25 that was because I was a new user.

The agent at the front desk was a woman of many talents! Bar keep, delivered a fan to our room within minutes of the request and saved us from getting locked in the laundry room!!!! The property was wonderful and that was the second full week I’ve stayed there! I will continue to do so next time I visit too!
It is conveniently close to the metro and 24 hour grocery store and some fast food restaurants.

Great hotel superb breakfast and location

Breakfast, front desk and in general hotel was very nice, a bit expensive but it was because nórdic business Forum as we understand. What is not clear and make un bit upset is that even we stay 4 days we didnt get tea in the room, nor coffee, only the first day and beds were made too fast and so so. Everything else great.

Located in a quiet neighbourhood about 6 minutes from a metro station and 2 stops from Helsinki Central Station, with a large 24-hour supermarket across the street. It’s what you would expect of a Holiday Inn - clean, functional, comfortable - and good value for money.
Only downside is the relative lack of food & beverage outlets in the immediate vicinity.

Spotlessly clean hotel, with a bright and comfy room. We especially enjoyed the table football and TV in the reception area. One issue we had was that toothbrushes and the like had to be requested from reception instead of being in the room. Also, the sauna is time-limited and single-sex. If you're spending most of the time sightseeing, most likely it would not be possible to get back during the female sauna period.

Sink missing a plug shower and shampoo containers empty on arrival and after next day's cleaning so had to ask at reception. Just spent a week in a holiday Inn in China and it was way better and cheaper.

Great hotel - newly renovated

Stayed in a room with a view of the sea, it was amazing especially around sunset. There’s a small shopping centre just nearby the hotel which has a few restaurants and a supermarket. About 8 min walk from subway station.

Cleaning not up to standard

When I arrived at the middle of the night, the room was not cleaned after previous guest. I got of course another room immediately, but in the middle of night it felt quote bad.
I stayed 4 nights, and cleaning between nights was also very sloppy compared to any other same-star hotels I've been last 15 yrs.

When I checked booking reference, it is said that 2 king size beds in the room we booked, but actually they were probably semi double beds.
Room was not so big, but big enough.
We stayed there for 3 nights, n 1 used towel was not changed after room make. It was hanged, so house keeper might have thought I wished to use it again even though I wanted to use new towel.
We booked a room including breakfast, n breakfast was really nice. I loved the salmon!
At breakfast restaurant, no staff was checking the guest's room number or anything. I wonder that anyone can go in to have breakfast???
For weekend, if the breakfast start time is earlier, it will be better.
And the hotel location, it's not really in the city center, but there are some supermarkets near the hotel. Metro station n tram station also.
Really nice to stay there!

This hotel is in the industrial area, with nothing to do nearby, other than grocery stores and chain restaurants.
Its staff, cleanliness, restaurant, sauna, etc, are all great. I'd come back.

Great stay in Ruoholahti

Great hotel if you're going to be in the Ruoholahti area during your stay. The hotel is not really in the city centre, but there's lots of connections to the city and it's just 1 stop from Kamppi and 2 stops from the railway station. There's a big supermarket and fast food restaurants nearby.

The room was clean and had everything we expected. The beds were really comfy.

Comfortable Hotel in a Good Location

The hotel is in a modern building and the facilities are quite decent. The room is relatively small but it has all a traveller needs. The shower room was leaking through the door but otherwise there were no major issues.
Hotel staff are brilliant, very helpful, friendly, and professional.
There's a good restaurant in the hotel. The prices for lunch and dinner are very reasonable in comparison with most places in Helsinki. Breakfast that was also served in that restaurant was very good.
The location of the hotel is excellent. It's very quiet despite being in front of a large shopping mall. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to a metro or tram station. It's only two metro stations from the Central Railway Station around which most significant sights are located.
Enjoyable state. Will be definitely staying again.

Very helpful staff. Convenient for buses trams and metro. We were advised to buy a Helsinki card which was fantastic. It allowed us to travel on all public transport plus admission to many museums plus a sightseeing tour of the city.

Affordable hotel near to the city\n

The hotel is strategically located to bus stop and metro that provide direct access to the city. Room size is rather small although it is quite comfortable. Housekeeping service is not properly done as occassionally I found unwashed cups in the room and dusty floor. The breakfast choices are edequate but quite limited. One thing is that the staff at the reception is very friendly and tries to provide the best service to the clients.

If you know Helsinki it's a perfect place to stay. You're close to the Metro and trams, but far enough to get a nicer sized room. Lots of stuff nearby, and it's quick to get to the centre. It's become my hotel of choice in Helsinki. Just please keep the bar open a bit later than 10pm please...

Great access, quiet off city center

Stayed there during a conference located less than a 5 minute walk away. It was very warm in the room. When we were up after hours of tossing and turning, the front desk did not hesitate to upgrade our room. The new room had a strange odor but, we didn't want to keep going to them. They were kind the first time around.

We had trouble in the Car Park across the way. There was no room in the Hotel Car Park, and the part across the way would not take bank debit cards, and we had no credit cards with chips. (Tampere Parking places still take bank debit cards) We spent hours in parking at night, and a long time early in the morning getting out.

\"Taxes and fees\" added a bit uncomfortable amount to the hotell bill, and breakfast was bit too expencive for that what was offered, but nice saunas and (small) fitness room was nice additions. Staff was nice to let us relax in saunas half an hour after closing time.
