Clean, good location, great choice of breakfast, double bed was comfy. The first night the kids pull out beds were uncomfortable but we asked for toppers like they had put on ours and this was quickly seen to.
My only negative was the pool was too cold to swim in.

Check in was crazy. Took over 90 minutes.
Once we checked in, room was nice and large (family room). Mini bar fridge was dead though.
Breakfast was chaotic. We booked a time slot (as instructed), but no tables. Then once we got a table, there were no coffee cups (some eventually arrived), no cutlery ( some eventually arrived), and getting food was crowded and chaotic. The staff were nice and working hard, but there were simply not enough staff for a busy weekend breakfast service.

Our first impressions were how convenient to the City Centre the location was. Walkable and tram and bus stop outside. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very warm, quiet and had everything we required. The buffet breakfast was truly amazing. Pretty much anything you want is available to you.

Nice hotel. Fun play room for kids. Nice breakfast. Helpful staff. but a few things that were a little frustrating. We are a family of five. They have us four towels. Like why can’t we have five? The elevator is really cold. The pool is really cold. Location is good. Parking is really expensive. Overall I would recommend.

Very hot at night (due to humidity). There is A/C, but don’t expect American-style air conditioning where you can set a temperature. It’ll be cooler than outside, but not much, and of comparable humidity.

There is a pool and sauna on the top floor; my teenagers enjoyed these facilities
The hotel has 500 rooms and was at capacity when we checked in amidst coach parties. The staff are patient and efficient. The three lifts got very busy and full.
Breakfast buffet was wide ranged from porridge and fruit, yoghurt and dairy, lots of bread and pastries, many types of meat
The family room with 3 beds was perfect
No kettle, drinks or snacks in room (our rate €210)
Tram system is excellent and runs just outside this massive hotel on the main drag through Helsinki

Outstanding overall

The hotel is well run with very good customer service. On the last morning of our stay the waitor from Somalia gave better than great service and made my family feel extra special and welcome. The only small drawback was the check in staff did not know about the daily chess happening close by at the library. This is a great initiative and a chess lovers dream. The hotel should be aware of this great idea and advertise it to interested guests.

Good staff, terrible management!

This place has very good staff, but a cheap owner! There is no air-conditioning. Apparently according to the responses of the hotel, ac only exists in some classes of rooms, and not all. Even though my room had a temperature control unit, it was unbearably hot. Outside temperatures were 27-30C. The front desk gave me a fan, which was so poor quality, that it rattled and the fan cage was crooked. Therefore, the AC was NOT broken, but was only installed in some areas. Good example of cheap & disgusting management and owner.

Also as noted by many reviewers, the organization is poor. The room had no electric kettle, no the about the name of the wifi, a window which opened a measly 5-6cm. The restaurant had excellent food and service but its management had no knowledge ofthe function of \"signs\"! One night, I couldn't get anyone to assign me a seat, even though there were many people inside. I finally found a staff member who told me that the entire restaurant was closed due to a special reserved event taking place! Not a single person bothered putting up a sign to inform the rest of the guests!!!

The pool was crowded and locker rooms were tiny with no room to change. The elevators had an audible warning when arriving but its volume was SO LOW as to be inaudible if there was even the slightest sound!

The room cleaning was also. essed up. The lerson took my dirty towels but did not replace them with new ones!!

Butlins Holiday Camp

If staying at a 900 room holiday camp is your idea of fun, go ahead, book here.
Breakfast was a nightmare. Sittings (yes, really, they are a breakfast thing here) are every half an hour yet are crowded with queues for everything. Insufficient tables meant that people were eager to take your table if you wanted an extra coffee or more than just an orange juice and croissant.
Horrible experience.
And the evening bar is no better. One member of staff for a busy bar who was clueless in which order to serve the queue at the bar. And orders from the restaurant take precedent, which were often.
It’s clean. It’s modern. It’s quite convenient for touring the city.
But it’s a holiday camp, attracting people who stop parenting their offspring once the ‘out of office’ is on.
Not again for us.
But if this sounds like your heaven, then you’ll be happy.

Hotel is clean, spacious and very welcoming. Staff are happy to help and treated us with kindness a smile. There’s plenty to do inside the hotel, locations nearby and is right in front of a beautiful lake. Really enjoyed my time inside the hotel and out. Food is great too, both breakfast and evening meal, even the snacks they have on offer at the shop to take up to our room. Highly recommend staying here.

We arrived at 2pm and was told to pay 40 euro for 2 people to check in before 4pm… the rooms are clearly available, so just a cash cow. Not staying at Scandic again. 4 pm is late in comparison with other hotels.

The hotel aisles have a grim smell resembling very low cost motels in the US. Very unpleasant

Just had a week at the Scandic Park hotel. Very well located next to a large park with a lake and multiple play parks. Travelled as a family of four with a 9yr old and 7yr old, took us about 15mins to walk from the hotel to the central railway station (avoiding the playparks!).
Breakfast was plentyful with something for everyone, hot items stayed hot and the coffee was strong, good start to the day.
There is a pool and sauna for guests to use on the top floor. The pool was fresh water and very cold but the kids enjoyed it for about 30mins before their lips were blue..
We had a superior family room which was spacious and split into two areass so the kids had tbeir own space and TV. Bathroom was large with seperate shower and bath, and lovely warm under floor heating.
Hotel was also near the Olympic stadium, Opera house and the Football stadium. Lots of restaurants and cafes in the area, we used Google to find recommendations and enjoyed every meal out.
I would stay here again and loved Helsinki

Great location at reasonable price

Family of 4 (two adults, two children) stayed during a weekend trip. Room space was enough for 4 people, location of the hotel was perfect (in front of a lake, walking distance to Central Station), room very clean (except for a bit of mould on the bathroom silicone, room 624), delicious breakfast. We used the pool which was more to the cold side (but still ok to get in and made the children happy), and quickly used the sauna.
I recommend this hotel and would certainly stay again if needed.

One of the reasons for staying here again, the hotel has a swimming pool, sauna, and gym facilities. The rooms. Are pleasantly clean and studio like for solo travelers. Though due to the housekeeping aspect the hallway wood trim along the walls were badly scratched and damaged by the carts used to carry clean towels and other cleaning supplies for the employees each day. Other areas of note is the vacuum cleaner doesn’t have a specific model to clean corners, edges, or the overhead vents for the rooms. They are coated over with a film of collected dust. Like in the Galway’s along the edges of the carpet and running wood trimming everywhere. The housekeeping should have dusters to easily wipe off surfaces. And the management should invest on finding some sort of wall protectors for the wood trim in the hallways.

The hotel was in a good location and had a good appearance. It was very busy so they could have opted a breakfast option on the top floor which they have done before when busy. Also the middle lift was not working for most of Saturday which added to congestion for the other 2. The restaurant as well although providing elegant food for dinner, the service was a little slow. Overall the hotel was well kept and staff were friendly and there were just a few areas where small improvements could have been made.

This hotel is located in a fabulous area! You can walk to concert venues, restaurants, and shops. Trams and buses are nearby to whisk you away to the center of Helsinki or to far away neighborhoods. A wonderful oasis in the city!

Nice local hotel with good amenities

Slightly out of the main part of the city with short walk access to a neighborhood square with restaurants, a walking park, local rail access to all the town has to offer. Quick train or Uber ride to the large market area. Great hotel if you are walking to the Olympic Stadium for an event. Nice, very large commercial sized fitness center onsite which was awesome. Not your typical hotel gym at all. 4 minute walk to one of the highest rated local cuisine restaurants in Kuu.

The checkin process was smooth, the room was decent size and the hotel location was great….however, our room (545) had a very bad odour in the bathroom. We were at the hotel only for one night and not in the room all day, so we somehow managed using it….but also in terms of cleanliness there was a used pink towel left on the hair dryer that didn’t belong to us. The room also didn’t had any kettle for making tea/coffee which was a bit strange. The breakfast spread was great. The hotel gets quite busy so the lifts are always packed and you have to wait a long time to get one. There were very limited TV channels in English to watch. Overall, I would call the stay a pleasant one but it worked for our purpose.

Clean and very neat hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Had a swimming pool and separate saunas for men and women.

The hotel was really well geared towards children, especially at meal times. Although there’s no life guard on duty at the pool and the temperature of the pool is rather on the cold side!
The selection at breakfast was huge and the hotel location is really close to the centre but opposite a beautiful park so it feels relaxed. We’d definitely stay here again.

A pleasant hotel with really nice staff. Easy walking distance to the stadium, and a handy supermarket just behind. Only problem is the usual hotel issue of penny pinching masquerading as environmentalism, worst of which being the large breakfast buffet being spoiled by all the \"hot\" items being nearly cold.
