Location of hotel was decent, short walk from tourist attractions. Room did not come with hotel slippers which had to be requested for. Room was also quite small with a lack of hangers. Problem with the room was the air conditioning which could not be adjusted properly as we were told that it was centrally controlled (only allowed for +-1 degrees changes). In winter when we visited, this resulted in the room being extremely cold. We requested for help on this at the front desk but there was not much that could be done.

The hotel itself & its staff are wonderful. The only drawback is there’s road construction on one side of the hotel so when you take transport to the city, you have to take a route that’s not direct. If you’re walking, no problem. Bed was comfortable. The staff are friendly & courteous - especially Hasan.

City Break at Helsinki Hilton Strand Hotel

Very good hotel well placed (currently refurbishing the local tramlines, so likely to improve soon). Really friendly and helpful staff in all depts, excellent breakfast, spacious bedrooms. Very minor points, room curtains hard to draw, sink needed new plug, no complimentary water bottles in room but good quality tap water available. Stayed for 5 nights. Not considered an economy hotel, but felt the price for B&B, sea view, with King Size bed and bath as well as shower was good value for money in what is generally an expensive city. Would recommend soap/shampoo holders in bath were lowered to facilt less able clients. Quite close (walking or bus to old city centre and railway station).

We stayed for one night. We have arrived just before midnight, and hotel reception was very helpful explaining all about hotel amenities.
We had the best breakfast ever , choice is incredible! Our kids and us had a varied choices from smoked salmon to maple syrup pancakes and healthy fruit / smoothie choices.
Although we didn’t use , but hotel has swimming pool and sauna onsite.
Our kids absolutely loved the glass lift :) became a big attraction while in hotel.
We also have asked if we could check out a little later , and were allowed to stay in the room until 4pm fee of charge - it was so helpful as we were traveling by night train to Lapland what day and having a relaxing day was very useful

Pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable , the pool (when not closed) was nice , and the front desk service was great. They were attentive to all my needs. Location is right across from a tram stop that can take you to the center of town . Ya. It’s a place worth staying at .

Great hotel, fabulous staff - highly recommend

We travelled as family and couldn’t fault the hotel.

Rooms are spacious, clean and have all amenities. The staff are super friendly, amazing with the kids and went out of their way to help.

The breakfast selection was huge, great coffee and lots of fresh local food which was lovely.

The location is good, 2 mins from all trams, buses & metro, and about 15 mins walk into the centre.

Super invigorating and relaxing with one of the best and cleanest hotel swimming pools around. The saunas were terrific, as you’d expect in Helsinki and the dinner menu also impressive. Never thought I’d eat reindeer but yep, when in Finland ! Coming back soon.

Great location, easy access to the central area in Helsinki and the great transportation network. Great service, awesome breakfast buffet, great option for dining if you decide not to go out. Very nice sauna experience, although the pool could be a bit warmer. Overall we enjoyed our stay a lot.

Well located but with so much road works around.
The reception staff who did my check in wasn’t very welcoming but cold and not a smile.
I stayed in the bar for work and no one came to ask me if I needed anything. I had to go to the bar to order a coffee and it looked like I really bothered them.
Breakfast was alright.

I will not be staying again, there are other hotels much more welcoming.

Well located for the centre of Helsinki, walkable if weather permits but it’s a three minute walk to Hakanemi Metro station if not. This metro station is two stops to Helsinki central railway station which is the centre point for most Helsinki landmarks, bars and shopping.

The hotel itself - being a Hilton - boasts all the amenities one could reasonably want and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Minor drawbacks: the buffet breakfast is served with cold plates and the single room is very small but these are trivial points.

Need renovations: TV is too old, no option to connect any Apps like YouTube etc, connect your own devices or other option. THE BREAKFAST quiet good and many options but too small space in the breakfast place and too dark. No sleepers or bathrobe in the room . In general is good located, very close to centre and transportation.

The conditioner cannot be off. You cannot change the room temperature: only 21-22 degrees Celcius. Because the totalitarian hotel management believes that 21 is the best temperature for all people for all time. I had to work all day in my room, and had to take on all my clothes: sweater, coat, hat. And it was insufficiently warm anyway. The worst hotel I ever had.

Very good breakfast. But, room comfort was barely satisfactory. The room temperature could not be raised and the AC could not be shut off. Cold air came straight to the pillow. Hotel provided supplemtary heaterbbut it was inefficient and inadequate.

Location was amazing! Easy to walk to main attractions and railway station / tram / buses. However there is building work outside the hotel (and throughout Helsinki) which was noisy and dirty. Also the sofa bed hadn't been made up on arrival, there were not enough towels provided initially and the bathroom had stains on the wall and was 'tatty'. Food was good in the restaurant though.

Nice property in a decent location but missing a few amenities like a refrigerator in the room, and no hot tub or jacuzzi in the sauna / pool area.

Staff were friendly but room was very inconsistently cleaned, or they asked to clean the room at odd hours (8:30pm!).

Area around hotel is undergoing a lot of construction and not too many restaurants right around it.

first 2 nights booked into a sea view room but sea was frozen and though could see the sea, it was about half a kilometer from room window. next 2 nights were booked into executive room where we had paid extra rate but we decided to remain in the sea view room. executive room entitles to breakfast and evening snack.
cathedral and union square is walking distance and no restaurants around except for a McDonalds across from the hotel. sauna was okay and swimming pool very small.

Upon my arrival to the hotel, I stood in Iine to be assisted by one of the two team members behind the counter. There was 1 person at the counter being assisted. As I stood there...at the HiltonHonors checkin sign...No one assisted me, nor acknowledged my presence. Then another person walked up. The team members spoke to him and assisted him before assisting me. After I checked in and asked if my hilton honors was connected w this stay, the young lady became a bit more personble. Overall my short stay at the hotel was pleasant...after an initially offputting experience that left me questiong if my dollars and hilton honors status is secondary to other patrons of a lighter hue.

Unfortunately I lost my credit card at the airport, so when it came to checking in there wasn't one for the hotel to put possible mini bar charges on. Instews of just taking a cash supplement they LOCKED the mini bar meaning I couldn't even use the fridge to keep my medication cream cool. One nights worth of waiter service was terrible, nothing like the service I received the night before. Waiter was un attentive, uninterested. And to top off the poor experiences when I went swimming in the hotel pool someone stole my room key from my bag, there are no lockers rooms just a changing area, you have to carry your key card wirh you everywhere to travel about the hotel feom floor to floo and to access the gym and swim areas. Not the Hilton experience I was expecting they could easily do WAYYY better.

Good quality hotel, a bit outdated building butroom was clean, nice and comfy. Pool on 8th floor was perfect after walk in the city. Kids loved it. Friendly staff, all worked smoothly. As little bonus: Our dog got his own “bed” and cup for the night , lovely little detail.

Very poor for a Hilton, stay elsewhere

This is poor for a Hilton, just some of the issues:
-Room stank of smoke and left all my clothes smelling too.
-All room doors slam shut so you are kept awake in the evening by slamming doors and woken up by the same in the morning. Very poor design.
- There was only a bar of soap in the room, no shampoo or conditioner or body wash.
- The breakfast was low quality

It was a very unpleasant surprise to learn on arriving that breakfast was not included in the price. The actual price of breakfast was another shock when checking out. I didn't ask about it when checking in because I expected it to be reasonable. However, 168e is far from reasonable for 2 kids and 1 adult. Otherwise, everything was fine.

I liked the proximity but also separation from downtown. I liked the glass elevators inside. I also found the breakfast buffet to be extensive and of excellent quality. Great coffee from the machine, though they could perhaps use a second machine to speed things up. Service was very good.
