We loved this great hotel

We stayed at this hotel for a week while attending a conference in Helsinki. The hotel provided a nice breakfast every morning, and I also used their pool and sauna. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel for both business trips and family vacations.

Very modern, clean and comfortable hotel. The lobby has lots of seating, the restaurant is very good and the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, the beds were very comfortable and the sheets were quality. Bathrobes and slippers are provided as well as a mini fridge, bottled water and tea/coffee making supplies. The bathroom was very large and the shower may have been one of the best I’ve ever had!

Great stay in Helsinki

Really enjoyed our stay at the Crown Plaza, which was a bolt on to the end of a wider Finland trip, and spent a few days in Helsinki.

Hotel was great - nice spacious rooms (for family of 3) and really good gym/pool facilities which we utilised. Staff friendly and help and we had breakfast there, which again, was a really good selection from cold meats and cereals, through to hot buffet. We looked ahead via Hotels.com which ended up a lot cheaper than buying on arrival.

We have toyed with the location prior to the visit ie do we go for the Radisson by the station or here - in reality, it was a 15min walk from the main training station but once we found the tram maps etc, it was a 2 min walk in either direction (plus is also similar walk to metro station) and when having a day public transport pass, the location was super central and convenient. Same with the airport, as we had a day pass, it meant we could tram to the station, and then pick up the I or P train straight to airport, all on the same pass.

It's right next to the park, so was able to enjoy a lovely run around the lake & olympic stadium, and is clearly marked out for runners/walkers too.

Little tip would be to sign up for the IHG prior to arrival, and I had it historically from work, but it just enabled some benefits like early check-in which was really useful for us.

We definitely recommend the hotel to other families or couples looking for a stay in Helsinki.

Very comfortable hotel with good restaurant and very pleasant and spacious reception area. Bedroom and bathroom were clean and roomy. Only shortcoming was that there were no drawers. Hotel is on the main Mannerheim Avenue with 3 tram routes running to city centre. Or it is half an hour level walk to city centre. Some attractions such as the Rock Church are within walking distance. Lovely wooded park and lake across the road. Good buffet breakfast with ample choices.

Amazing stay

Although we only stayed for two nights, we absolutely loved our stay!

The room was wonderful, we really enjoyed the comfortable bed and the heated floors in the bathroom! In addition, we very much enjoyed the hotel breakfast spread.

If you are looking for a hotel that has an amazing gym, then this hotel is a must! The gym was an actual gym that had every single piece of equipment and weights.

Next time I’m in Helsinki, I will definitely stay at this hotel.

Neighbouring rooms were very noisy until midnight, only one coffee pod in the room, no nice treats such a pillow mist etc as you find in other Crowne plazas, they do. It use “This works” brand.

Beautiful and very comfortable hotel. We were a family of 4 with 2 young children staying in a junior suite. A travel cot with all bedding and children’s toiletries was provided. The room had excellent blackout curtains and a huge bath. The breakfast buffet was very varied and delicious.

This was our first stay at an IHG hotel and it certainly won't be our last! A lovely hotel with great amenities in fantasic location, a few minutes walk from the city centre. Lovely staff, a superb breakfast and fantastic pool and gym. A 10/10 all round from the three of us. Looking forward to our next IHG hotel stay already.

Lovely Hotel, great staff, good leisure centre, swimming pool and sauna. The breakfast buffet is amazing you can have almost anything you want and what isn't on the hotplates or cold stations can be more or less ordered from the Kitchen!

Perfect location about 1/2 a mile from the city centre, very accessible on foot or by public transport. The insulation and double glazing in this hotel is great as despite the road works along the main road the room was very quiet

Fantastic hotel and loved everything about it. Decent room size, very modern and had everything that you would expect in terms of toiletries.

Breakfast was really good and there was an on-site restaurant and bar as well as a sauna and pool downstairs.

All the staff were really friendly and helpful - checking-in and and checking-out very straightforward.

Excellent location, only a 15 min walk to the centre via a lovely park although plenty of transport options as well.

Great hotel and location.

Very friendly staff, approachable and willing to assist. Breakfast was vast and varied, something for everyone. Good leisure facilities and pool big enough to get a descent swim. Hotel is near enough to walk into the city centre or take the nearby tram. Hotel was very busy on the day we left so we paid the bill after breakfast and just handed the key card in when we left later.

No upgrade for being Expedia Gold Member. Tiny standard room. I booked a King bed and was given single bed. Overpriced drinks and mini bar. They wanted €36 for cold chicken sandwich for room service when I arrived late from late flight. Good but wouldn’t stay again because of this

Hotel decor is beautiful and cannot be faulted but what it has in terms of the comfort and cleanliness, it lacks in service.
With a hotel that offers a sauna, gym and restaurant service, you would expect these information on check-in. Well, al I got was a key and a finger direction to the lift. Not a big deal but little touches like these goes a long way to form the opinion of a hotel. It also would have been understandable if the reception was busy but I was the only one checking in at 1:30am.
My biggest complaint and reason I score this hotel average is as a business guest, Internet is very important. It’s better not to offer free WiFi service than offer one that cannot even open an internet page. Had to roam my phone for internet access.

Room facilities:
No complimentary water, slippers, shower cap. All you get is shower gel, shampoo and conditioner all in one bottle. Glad they threw some towels in and some paper rolls.

Food ordering was another palaver. Menu on tv but no telephone instructions, not even a telephone number for the reception.

Advice to the hotel management is to see this as being constructive. Good service is the cherry on a cake that makes it extra special. In this case, the services let the hotel down.

Normal hotel check-in is either 2 pm or 3 pm. At Crowne Plaza Helsinki, it's 3 pm. Nevertheless, the hotel's Ms. Heli, having known that we're on our 36th Anniversary tour, had our room prepared. With 2 bottles of champagne and luscious chocolate to boot greeting us as we entered Room 504, overlooking the Toolo Bay. We were able to take a rest especially coming from a long flight, 14 hours, from Manila, Philippines. Kudos to Ms. Heli! Triple A & 5-star rating for Crowne Plaza Helsinki!
