The hotel was conveniently located and the staff was helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable the blackout curtains helped me sleep during the white nights. I really enjoyed the breakfast, there were many options and everything was delicious. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Central hotel with easy access to the shops!

Have stayed in this hotel probably 12 times in 15 years and it is brilliant. The rooms were refurbished not so long ago so everything is clean and tidy.
There are also loads of plug sockets and at least 4 USB sockets in the room so charging devices is easy (you don't get that in a lot of hotels these days!).

You can cross the road and head straight to the bus station and into Kampi shopping centre so you don't even need a coat to access 4 different shopping centres as they are all connected.

My only negative was that we booked as 3 adults and were given two single beds and a camp bed. I would have thought we would have received a slightly better setup.

Newly furnished rooms - everything high standard. High quality TV and bed. Room was quiet although there was a little machine noise. Helpful and friendly staff. Loved the private sauna! Good variety and quality for breakfast. Excellent location, too.

Few minor minus points:
-Property could have been in better condition on the outside - especially near the entrance - all needed a clean and a lick of paint.
-Shower doors flimsy and designed so water leaked all over the bathroom floor - soaked everything ok it
-Use of black bin liners in rooms and around the hotel downgraded the experience somewhat. This is picky but it really does take away the feeling of a high standard hotel.

The breakfast was great!
Room was spacious enough for 2 large luggage even though we had to get a king bed and it looked like we were down graded from a bigger twin room.

Hotel staff were friendly. Opposite was a hige shoppong mall, food outlet, clothes outlet basically everything that u need should u want
to get something or forgotten to bring.

Good experience there.Will definatelh recommend friends to the place.

Location is great, next to metro station, bus and 7 min walk to train station. The room is perfectly clean, new and nice décor, lighting is good, the best is the bed and the bedding, it was so comfortable!! all things in room are perfect. The sauna is small but good enough. Breakfast has good selection and healthy, good coffee and fresh crossiant. They accept my request of late check out which perfectly fit my flight! I enjoy a lot the stay, just it was too short, will definite come back and will introduce to other.

This was an excellent hotel that we stayed in. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we could find somewhere nice to eat on Christmas day during our stay. The rooms were clean and modern with a good variety of hot drinks available. The property was also in a brilliant location and was opposite the large Kampi shopping centre.

The Radisson Blu in Helsinki is s goid choice for either a business or holiday stay. The two best things are : The location is excellent, it is right across the street from a major subway and bus station, from which you can get almost anywhere in the region. If you need longer distance trains, then the Central rail station is on subway stop away. The bus station mall, Kamppi has plenty of little restaurants and the Kiosk convenience store. Also supermarkets and drug store are in the Kamppi bus station mall. Very convenient. Second, the hotel is newly renovated, clean and nice.
The negatives are 1) the design choices inside the hotel could have been much better. For example, even if you are only reasonably tall, watch out for the large, hanging light in the bathroom over the sink. I kept hitting my head on that poorly placed light, so be careful; 2) the bed is very high with an overly soft bed and also a mattress cover. Although comfortable, it's a bit too soft, and because the softness (mattress and cover both) are so soft, it's hard to sit on the bed it sags and then you slide off. The floor was a slippery laminate of some kind. I know Radisson is trying to do a Marriott with the high, soft bed, but they should go see what Marriott buys for their mattresses; you don't slide off Marriott beds(this is not just a run of the mill complaint, the bed was really troublesome). I hope Radisson will consider these problems in their next renovation there and other propertie

Good location just opposite of a big mall and the main bus terminal. Excellent breakfast and nice staff. One metro station to central railway station or a short walk around 10 mins. Rooms are newly renovated the bedroom side is perfect but the shower side is not fully covered at the bottom part which looked strange and water kept leaking out.

Good hotel but bad and not service minded staff at reception. This was a family weekend, I was traveling with my daughter and we stayed at this hotel for two nights. Despite the low season and half empty hotel we were placed in an old room close to the noisy part of the hotel that was being renovated. After our request to be moved to another room, we were placed at the very end of the corridor on the same floor in the smallest room possible. The bathroom washalf-size of the standard bathroom due to technical space adjacent to our room. The room was fresh and renovated but clearly not spacious enough for two people. The booking was made via Hotels.com with a 15% discount but I’m not sure whether it’s because of the discounted price the staff at the reception determined to place us in the worst room possible. This has clearly spoiled our experience with this fairly nice hotel.

All in all a good place to stay.

Hotel staff very warm, friendly and helpful - particularly those in the breakfast room, chef and waitstaff. Our room was well designed and the bed comfortable ... the whole hotel was well heated (for a January stay). First time winter visitors should be aware that underground routes start across the road from the hotel and lead (un-icy, dry and warm) to the start of the Esplanade, for example. We arrived very early from a long flight and a room was not available. However, we were given access to the hotel’s sauna and showers which was appreciated. Only two small negatives, room service did not complete their task - leaving the bed unmade and a shortage of towels. Also, even though we were on the 8th floor a smell of drains was evident in the bathroom.

The buffet breakfast was very good-- especially the delicious, Finnish rye bread, which I had never tasted before. My only criticism: the coffee was only so-so.

The location is excellent! There is a tram stop and a bus station less than a block away. There is also a large mall, a cinema, plenty of restaurants, grocery shopping, and other fun things to see and do within minutes of the property. The breakfast was good with a wide variety of foods and the staff was pleasant and helpful. My concerns were with the housekeeping. The bed and the bathroom were clean, so that was good. However, the carpet in the room was never vacuumed during the week-long stay and the hallway carpet really needed a good shampooing. Dirty cups and glasses sat in the room for days until they were removed/replaced. Toiletries were not always replaced in a timely fashion. The desk chair upholstery was so dirty or worn that I wondered if I should sit on it.

The hotel is in a prime location and convenient to everything. In fact it is walkable from the train station if you don’t have luggage. The breakfast is fabulous. Be sure to walk around to the open window of the kitchen where they have made to order omeletts and Cyrillian pancakes. Initially angry that they assigned us a dirty room that had not been cleaned but free drinks made up for it

Filthy hotel below the standard of the chain. We stayed 4 nights they didn't swipe the floor once. Had to go to reception several times about dirty cups / cupboards /bathroom. Even the sheets weren't changed each day but just made. But pricing of course is level with other EU capitals. Should have chosen something else.

Needs improvements in many areas

It was a nice staying, although needs to be improved. We had a reservation at another hotel but they inform us 2 weeks before leaving about a renovation that they would do to the building and moved us at Plaza hotel, which was in a more convenient location after all. The room was decent, definitely not value for money. It was much smaller than we expected for a Radisson blu hotel. The breakfast also needs to be improved. It wasn’t representative to the chain hotels. It had only two options at the egg bar (omelet with specific goods and fried eggs). Had certainly a gluten free space but was really small. Needs to be improved in many areas. We were about to be provided every day with water due to our membership but this never happened.

Wenn ich in Helsinki bin, übernachte ich immer im Radisson Blu Royal. Leider ist aktuell eine große Baustelle nebenan, diese hat aber zum Glück keinen Lärm gemacht. Personal wie immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war früher mehr besonders.

Saapuessamme huomasimme, että lattiat olivat pölyiset ja tahraiset. Petauspatjojen ja patjan välissä oli paljon roskaa. Lavuaari vessassa ja WC pytty vetivät huonosti ja lamppu työpöydällä ei palanut. Ovesta irtosi joka kerta suojalätkä, kohdasta johon korttia käytettiin sisäänpääsyssä. Näkymä ikkunasta oli rakennustyömaalle. Muutoin vierailu sujui hyvin.

Hotelli oli upea. Huoneessa oli mahtava sänky ja muutenkin huone oli kauniisti sisustettu. Saimme huoneen ennakkoon, ystävälliseltä asiakaspalvelijalta. Aamupalalla oli aina ystävällinen henkilökunta. Hotelli oli hyvällä paikalla, lähistöltä löytyi kaikki. Tulimme junalla Helsinkiin, joten parkkeeraus asiasta ei kokemusta. Ainoa negatiivinen asia oli, että kylpyammeen vesi myös valui kylvyn jälkeen lattialle, eikä se ollut vielä aamullakaan kuivanut, koska eihän se vesi ylämäkeen pääse. Tässä ehkä suunnitteluvirhe. Muuten kaikki sujui hyvin.

Bedre enn forventet.

Overraskende fint hotell for prisen jeg betalte. Kort vei til hva enn du måtte ønske. Enten det er en severdighet eller kjøpesenter. Også gangavstand til togstasjon.
Utvendig var det litt anleggsarbeid, og fasaden på hotellet er kanskje ikke topp, men inne var utseende og service upåklagelig.
Benytter meg gjerne av dette hotellet igjen!
