Great hotel and staff!!!
Stephen
I had a great experience overall on my two night stay before starting a cruise. Nice breakfast buffet. Good location near the esplanade. The only thing I didn’t understand until I checked out and asked about it was the room cleaning policy. Cleaning and resupply on towels was on request. Was not an issue for me as I only stayed two nights.

We had a lovely stay. We arrived early off the boat from Stockholm and for only £25 a night we were offered a room upgrade and immediate checkin (this was before 12 noon) which was very welcome. The room was worth the extra and the location of the hotel in general was also excellent - just a few minutes walk to Esplanadi or to the harbour and tram stop.
The breakfasts were great - brilliant porridge! Then when waiting for a very late flight back on our last day, after we had checked out, we were offered free coffee etc. Really recommend this hotel.

Jennifer
The hotel has large beautifully decorated rooms with ample bathrooms. The location is very close to the marketplace at the water front and walkable to many restaurants and shops. The breakfast was ok with the option for a “real” coffee.
Steven
Very clean spacious room. Staff friendly and helpful and there was a good breakfast selection. Quiet location but walking distance to city centre.
Tina
This was a lovely little hotel. The staff were very friendly.
Thomas
Great location just 3 blocks south of the Esplanade where you will find a few of the best restaurants in Helsinki. Very classy retro hotel. Wonderful staff. Excellent breakfast. Good bar and snack service.
Helsinki is a beautiful and safe city. Very clean! Highly recommended.

Naomi
Very helpful and friendly staff at the front desk! The hotel is a very short walk to the market square and nice shops and restaurants. Beds were comfy and the room was clean and lovely.
Alicia
The hotel was perfect for me. Roomy (for Europe). Great location. Helpful staff. Small boutique hotel but not too fussy. I highly recommend
William
Amazingly well maintained room - looks brand new.
Alan
Excellent size room immaculately presented, very comfortable bed and pillows. Great size shower and bathroom also. Aircon was not needed at this time of year so no comment there but fan was quiet. Curtains blocked most of the light but have seen better. Breakfasts were well presented in a limited area. Location handy for parks walkable to the station with bags about 15 mins, to harbour about 7 mins, a range of restaurants within 10 mins. Staff very attentive and helpful 24 hrs.
Linda
The Hotel Fabian in Helsinki was an amazing experience. The staff went over and above to make our stay amazing. The rooms were spacious, clean and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic with so many great healthy choices and the kitchen staff were marvellous. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. A 5 minute walk to the waterfront.
Yvonne M
Great location and friendly staff. Had a lovely upgrade with plenty of space
joyce
The “City View” looks out into a building. You can’t see the city at all. No soap in shower had to request it. Night staff Christian was rude. Everyone else was nice. No upgrade or any accommodation offered when I asked about the lack of city view which I paid for. The beds were nice but everything else seemed very budget which was a surprise considering the price of the room
Gemma
Perfect hotel for a business trip. Within in walking distance from the harbor. Clean and brilliantly dressed rooms.
Rebecca
The staff is great, the hotel was very clean, breakfast selection superior, and the location is excellent for walking or transit.
The hotel sits at the base of a lovely park with interesting shops within 5 minutes walk and there are many good restaurants close by.
I've plans to stay there again next May while at a festival and I've recommended it to others planning to attend.

Simple and comfortable. Breakfast is tight in space and quite basic.

We stayed there for 5 days. Very quiet & convenient location a little away from the city crowd. Staff is excellent. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Coffee is good. Breakfast is ok. Will certainly come again.

It was a good stay but the room was too cold and an electric heater was required. The shower drained slowly. Comfortable in size and very well located.

The only other review I have ever written:
is Room 408's Book
(describing its comfort and cleanliness)
Interior and exterior properly maintained
Front desk professionals, informative and very personable.
To all the staff, especially the breakfast crew,
my thank you
As a lounge enthusiast I thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable couches, chatter and local beverages service (well done!)
Zero regrets in selecting Hotel Fabian....
See you when I return to Helsinki,

Everything was great! Staff, location and room quality.
Richard
I have stated here few times and it has never failed me. The rooms are lovely, the continental breakfast is amazing and it is in walking distance of most attractions and shops.
Claudia
Easy to find and nice staff at check in.
Scott
Excellent stay at Hotel Fabian. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the hotel was very clean with a nice design. The room was spacious modern and clean and the bed was very comfortable I just would have preferred one large double duvet rather than two single duvets and the shower pressure was a little low but nothing major. The breakfast was delicious and the hotel is in a great location. Overall I had an excellent stay and would stay again if I return to Helsinki.
Gabrielle
Great hotel in walking distance to all of the attractions in Helsinki.
rebecca
Beautifully clean and quiet room, and great location close to the main sites but in a quiet street.
Heather
A real gem of a hotel! Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff courteous, and in a perfect location for shopping, restaurants, ferries and the Market Hall. The buffet breakfast was always fresh and tasty, with more than adequate choice.
Michael L
Everything about my stay at hotel Fabian was excellent the staff were just super friendly and helpful! My room was beyond perfect and I wish my bedroom at home was as spacious… sadly my visit was around some big event which cost a price surge whereas I would have loved to extended my stay by another day or 2
Alison
The hotel was in a great area for exploring and walkable to the tram stops. Food options nearby were varied and excellent. I would recommend for either business or tourism.
Gary
A very nice clean room. Comfy bed and a great breakfast. Fairly central location, maybe 5 min walk away.

Nice Hotel, Good location
Steven
A good hotel, well located hotel for walking to harbor area attractions. Attentive staff. Good breakfast.
Jouko
Don't let the modest exterior and entrance fool you. This is a great boutique hotel, with a friendly staff, modern, comfortable, incredibly quiet, immaculate rooms and a fantastic breakfast. Located blocks away from shopping, dining and sightseeing. Will definitely put this on the list for future stays in Helsinki.
Jojit
Perfect location as walking distance to major attractions in the city centre!
Jeremy
A gem in the ideal location
Excellent breakfast with friendly and kind staff.

we had the spacious and very beautiful lux room, which has a kitchenette, a dining table and chairs, and upholstered seating like a living room. AND the most comfortable bed ~ everything was perfect. the front desk staff is outstanding ~ they were so generous and accommodating with information and anything else we needed. breakfast staff is really welcoming and friendly; it was a pleasure to see their smiling faces each morning. i checked out over 50 properties online; choosing which one was difficult among so many excellent options, but i am delighted we ended up at hotel fabian for our 10-day stay in helsinki.
Nina
Lovely quiet and friendly hotel, in a really convenient location. The staff were welcoming and the breakfast was excellent.
Edward
Nice clean hotel and friendly staff. Complimentary continental breakfast. No sauna which I was surprised about seeing how there is one in nearly every house in Finland. 5min walk to the esplanade and waterfront and closest tram stop. Would stay here again. Only issue, I couldn’t pair the TV with my phone to access my own Netflix.
steve
There were many niggles with the bedroom that should not have been there. Some were immediately cleared others required work around as maintenance was not available during the 3 nights of our stay.
It is a boutique hotel with no kitchen to speak of. Breakfast is plentiful, hot food is limited to what can be prepared before you. e.g. croissants, crepes and pains au chocolat from frozen put into the oven alongside the buffet You are required to reserve a 45 minute slot for your party to have breakfast from the buffet.

Hotel Fabian is less than 10 minutes walk to the Helsinki Esplanade and downtown. A safe and quiet neighbourhood. Room is good size, clean and the bathroom is big and clean. Bed is comfortably and linens clean and fresh. Overall an excellent choice

My travelling companion and I rate this hotel very high and recommend it without hesitation. I would consider this as a boutique hotel yet one that was very reasonably priced. This was the best hotel I stayed at on my three week, 4-country Scandinavian vacation. The rooms were modern, very veal and very spacious. The entire hotel had a very nice personal and “homey” feel to it.
Best of all was the staff, the front desk staff in particular. Emmi, Mats and Julia simply could not have been more kind, friendly, gracious or helpful. Nothing was a bother and they all went above and beyond. For example, one day we had an early morning departure for an all-day excursion. I only mentioned this in passing and yet without any prompting at all, Emmi asked if I would perhaps enjoy an early morning coffee and “take-away” breakfast or have a singular early sitting for breakfast. All this so we would not miss out on a breakfast that was provided with our rooms. Not many front desk staff personnel I’ve encountered have been that proactive or anticipate that well and I travel a lot!
Well done Hotel Fabian! It is not surprising you are a multiple-time Trip Advisor Award winner.
Thanks very much for such a wonderful stay!

Great hotel, had a lovely modern room with everything I needed, big room with plenty of space too. The staff were really helpful and friendly, I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely return.
Shelby
I loved this hotel. Great location, very comfortable and friendly staff.
The room was smaller than I expected but still roomy enough and had a great view. Breakfast was a buffet in a tiny area but with a good array of choices and plenty of seating.

It was a very good stay. Nice location

Amazing decor inside of the stately old building. Quiet at night, nice “3 season” glassed in patio to have breakfast in. Attentive to details, including that it was my birthday.
Peter
Great location in The Old Town( can’t beat it). Friendly and welcoming staff, too. I’d recommend.

First time Helsinki visitors, we chose Hotel Fabian and were happy with our selection. Property is about 3-4 easy blocks from the harbor and Esplanade, on a quiet side street across from the Defense Dept. (Everything is quiet in Helsinki :) )
There's a supermarket, Hesberger chain, and a restaurant within one block. Ten minute (or less) walk to Punavuori with plenty of places to eat and chill. Helsinki is super-walkable and easy!
The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast good but not exceptional. Hot water plentiful. I could do without the overwhelming incense thing in the bathroom.
Staff was kind and not obtrusive. Would recommend!

Great stay as always
I have stayed here a couple of times. Everything is always on point from check in to our style room, also the breakfast is lovely. This hotel is in walking distant to most things to do including boat trips. It is my fave place to stay in Helsinki and will be staying Christmas holiday 2025
John
Nice place in Helsinki
I enjoyed my stay at the Fabian. The staff helped me order Bolt delivery when it got late which was helpful. The breakfast was not the spread I've seen at some places, but still not bad. Bed was ok, shower was excellent. Room was a tiny bit warm.
Darren
Another great stay
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and we even had 2 friends stay this visit. It is close to everything you need, it had a lift and I really like the continental breakfast.

This is a great hotel in Helsinki that offers excellent service with excellent rooms. The room was spacious, clean, well lit and included a kitchenette and also an iron and ironing board. A healthy breakfast was included as well. The location is very quiet but within walking distance of several sites. When traveling further, the tram is easily accessible as it is approximately 3 blocks away. In the future I would gladly stay here again.
Amanda
We had a room with a sofa/lounge which made it v comfortable. Staff were helpful and nice and the breakfast was good
Carlos
I appreciated the breakfast to go. Great overnight stay!

Hotel Fabian in Helsinki offers a fantastic stay with spacious, apartment-like rooms that feel like a home away from home. The one-bedroom setup comes with all the essentials, making it a comfortable and convenient choice. The breakfast is delicious, providing a great start to the day. Highly recommended boutique hotel

Nice few days in Helsinki
Excellent hotel in a good location with great staff. Only let down was the breakfast hot choice was limited.
Jason
A great area for sightseeing in Helsinki
A great base for a city break. Short walk to the waters edge, then shopping centre the next. Many good restaurants nearby, including the Krog Roba, within the partner hotel of this one. Recommended if a small amount of self catering is your thing.
Brent
Great hotel. Easy to find with a big sign. Room was a great size
Mark

The room was pretty with good pillows. The bathrobe was nice.
