The property is in a very good location, the facilities in the hotel are good and staff is polite and helpful. I would have given 4.5 stars but am giving 3 only because the spa facilities were a total let down. The staff in the spa provided no explanation, the description of the offerings was misleading and our experience of taking the spa treatments was very disappointing.

I arrived late at night around 1am. After a long travel , my first interaction at the es saadi hotel was with the guy at the lobby. I entered smiling and he had absolutely 0 bit of positive energy. He was not smiling and was giving me attitude a soon as i enteree. I even said hello and he did not answer me. Just looking at me waiting for me to talk. I started telling him i wanted to check in he asked for my passport. So i look for my passport and then i realize I forgot my passport at casablanca ( where my grandmother lives), and where i was coming from. I tell him that and he tells me he cant do anything for me. Like what? You just want me to get out of your hotel at 1am with luggage in my hands? Are you out of your mind? After a few minutes of ´negotiations ” he kept my ID ( from canada). Anyways he was just rude and im someone who gets affected very easily so it annoyed me for the rest of the night. The rest of the people are alright. Not super welcoming just alright.
The food at the pool is disgusting. The burger was non-eatable. i paid but i didn't even take 3 bites. Frozen fries probably.
The hotel in general is « old luxurious » but i would definitely categorize it as a 4 star hotel.
The good thing about this hotel is its location. Casino, club , shisha lounge, right in the backyard. You dont pay the club if you're from es saadi.
I didn’t like my stay there i didnt feel welcomed especially after that interaction with that 1st guy.

Have been going there since the 80's and the hotel staff always take great care of you, food is top quality and nice setting. The little down side was for a 5 stars hotel, to be little tight on providing water and coffee/tea in rooms. Once you finished what they gave you on day one, no re fill. Also, the pool was crowded with young kids, some time with no parents to see screaming.

The charm is that one is going back in time. There are actual keys, keyholders and mailboxes, furniture and bar from the 1960s. More like a movie setting! While outdated everything is in proper condition and very clean. The rooms were large and had comfortable beds even though the color schemes would not stand up to modern tastes — with bright yellow towels and robes. I found it fantastic. The grounds are fabulous and the food was also enticingly good and varied (i particularly like the foies gras briouates’!). Unfortunately, i expect that this too will be lost soon, so take a trip back to the 1960s and enjoy! Special mention: the piano player is Hungarian!

Nice hotel but dated! However service was great. Had to check out very early in the morning and concierge organized breakfast to be brought to my room. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the breads and pastries. Coffee wasn’t hot enough though.

Ordered a croque monsieur by the pool and it was not bad at all.

Rooms are dated but they make up with the wide range of amenities.

I didn’t like the service at the front desk it was terrible also they made us pay taxes twice even though we already paies them trough Orbitz. The rooms were super small the beds not for adults are shaking all night. Overall it was not a good experience I will never use it again.

Besides the Air conditioning that never worked. Very poor telephony system with no guidance and place you on hold for long minutes until you get a reply.
Curtins will never blackout the whole room windows which will always leave big space for sunlight and ruin your sleep.
Aging floors and overall aged hotel.
Location is perfect and close to everything.

GREATLY OVERRATED - MANY BETTER OPTIONS

THE BAD;
* Rooms are small, old carpeting and drab furniture.
* Bathroom is super tiny.
* Bed is very uncomfortable.
* Wifi doesn’t work most of the time. I called the front desk about it. They said they couldn’t do anything about it and literally hung up on me.
* Tv signal periodically drops out.
* Front desk staff are generally rude, angry and unhelpful. They frown and raise their voice when they tell you they don’t intend to solve your problem. They act as if the guests are a nuisance.
* We were part of a group. Some got flowers in the room in the room each day as a special touch. But others did not. This inconsistency points to a lack of attention to detail and a lack of caring about guests.
* You cannot drink water from the tap in Morocco. Moroccans say you shouldn’t even use it to brush your teeth. But the hotel makes you pay for water. Seriously? In my opinion, it is a basic responsibility of any hotel to provide resources to allow guests to sleep well, bathe and brush your teeth. So having to pay (to buy water) to brush your teeth is unacceptable. Other hotels in Morocco offer free water in the rooms.

THE GOOD:
* Building, lobby, pool and landscaping are beautiful.
* Restaurants and food are good but expensive.
* Concierge staff are friendly and helpful.

This hotel is greatly overrated. There are too many examples of them just not caring about guests. I do not recommend Es Saadi and I would not stay here again.

Catfish Hotel! Do not confuse with Es Saadi Palace

On what planet is this place 5 stars?
Arrived few hours before booking, told by charmless receptionist to come back later - would have been nice to have been directed to somewhere comfortable but alas; wandered around until the exact checkin time, whereupon we were made to wait 30 minutes longer (despite having surrendered our passports to the reception). Was asked for a credit card which was returned with a receipt for a preauthorisation over double the cost of the room. Maybe make that clear to your guests first? Left me unable to use my card for the rest of my trip. We were then told which parts of the wider hotel area we had acess to. The instagram page of the Resort shows the very best parts of these grounds, the vast majority of which are restricted to guests of the Es Saadi Palace:a total contrast to where we found ourselves. No mention of closed casino..
When we were shown to our room (I say shown, we were directed to to the floor... Where we struggled with very strange door keys). About 5 minutes after our bags arrived, one of the hotel's cleaners burst into the room without knocking to finish preparing the room).
Unlike the modern and inviting lobby, the rooms themselves are outdated. The mini bar was empty, the weak air conditioning had only an On/Off setting, pigeons were inhabiting and desecrating the balcony. Oh, and no hot water for 2 or the 3 nights we stayed! Also, no plasters at reception? I thought hotels were required to have first aid kits. List goes on!

Awful bed bug and tick experience!...don't be fooled by the 5-star rating. The hotel is run-down, and the service is terrible. It can't be a 5-star. Hot water comes and go, towels have holes, bedding has ticks, lamps are broken, window blinds have gap...even charging an iPhone takes forever ( certainly overloaded circuits). Wait, the rooms still use keys that you are required to leave at the concierge who seem to hand them to whoever asks! Totally unacceptable. This is a total scam and the hotel should be shut down.

There is no minibar even one can of coke! Telephone was broken and I had to go down to concierge ask for a knife and the lady in reception very rude manner after 3 min taking to her colleagues decided to ask me if she can help! I asked for a knife and she said you have to call room service and I replied are you aware the phone is not working! My sister is gluten intolerant and I managed to find a cake suitable for her as soon as she start eating a member of staff ran to us and asked us not to eat unless we buy it from the pool bar!!! An other occasion when I asked for extra towel As the otheR one was wet the pool boy told me you are allowed only one towel! Which kind of service is that??!

Hotel is not well maintained.l. Outdated furniture and facilities.
We have occupied 3 Room categories.
Bungslow Nr. 13 is located at the pool and on the back is the car entrance of the palace , Casino and nightclub. The noise level is enormous by honking Tacis, fighting Taxi drivers and Drunk night club visitors until 5..30 am and despite the Entrance belonging to the same ownership and the problem is known no corrective action is taken.
My kids got an upgrade in the suite 509. Clean, nice furniture
Etc....
My mother was in a normal room 229 with pool view. Out dated facilities and furniture.
My brother was in the 427 city view similiar condition but couldn't sleep because the traffic snd car noise.

The property was beautiful!!!!

The entrance is grand and beautiful! The greeting staff is beautiful! They were very attentive and kind.

However the rooms do not look entirely like the pictures. The room I stayed in could use some upgrading, tiles were scratched and falling apart. The toilet backed up early in the morning our first day! The sink is slow to go down. The room was large. The rooms advertised that captivates you are suites and upgrades $250.00 per day per person! The indoor pool that captivates you are upgrades that costs $55.00 per person every day!

My stay was pleasant and I enjoyed it immensely. I was comfortable and the staff was great. The breakfast was amazing! The food was great ask for Moroccan Crepes!

Unfortunately, 3 out of 4 of us were extremely sick having eaten the breakfast, and can only pinpoint that this was due to the fresh orange juice (possibly been diluted with water or ice) which was the only thing we shared in common. Visitors in the room opposite us were also ill. We had almost a day of vomiting and diarrhoea and our last day trying to regain energy for the flight home. The management was not particularly sympathetic at all and did everything to absolve themselves from any responsibility, which of course it is difficult to prove. However, this is classed as a 5 * hotel, and this was not what we would have expected.

I asked for upgrade because my room was not good they upgraded me to the room with broken door, no heating, broken WC and it was far from the palace. And we were very disappointed. Hotel was empty and they refused to move us to the palace and I give the hotel 2 stars only. Not 5 stars.

The staff was outstanding from the checkin to the time I was ready to leave in all their facilities including the casino and the nightclub. But I was mostly impressed with the housekeeping. Gardeners Dream Resort!

Historic rooms in luxe setting. Flourishing gardens abound, with noisy, chatty birds (just lovely) and full blossoms everywhere. If things go sideways at any point, be quick to flag it to your concierge, as the entire staff is absolutely committed to your stay and someone may just be having a bad day. The gastronomic restaurant is A+. Recommended to order a tagine (of course!) and the soufflé for dessert. Arrive early so you can walk the 8 hectare estate. Lucky you. Enjoy!

Older property with beautiful gardens

Whilst the 'oldness' of the property was charming, as were the front office staff and one barman (piano bar) the rest of the people were very abrupt and anti service. And. im talking the most basic things ... ordering your meal .... asking for the bill.
There seems to be an inherent negativity . I did wonder why .. we certainly did nothing to attract it. Just. Polite paying customers.

Great hotel within walking distance of the Medina.

Es Saadi was the perfect escape from the hustle of the Medina and other tourist attractions in Marrakech. We had a family room in the Hotel which was comfortable enough to sleep two adults and two older teens. Our room faced the street and was quite quiet during the day, but the noise did ramp up around 2AM due the casino on the property. The noise woke only 1/4 of us in the room and it was easily remedied with a pair of earplugs. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool area, the pool lunches and especially the breakfast. The coffee and mint tea were very good. The paths on the property are very beautiful and peaceful. We did have an opportunity to experience the Hamman onsite and it was quite lovely.

The hotel staff were very accomodating. They arranged for our pickup at the airport, a guided tour of the city as well as recommended good restaurants in the area. The best food we had, by far, was at the restaurant at the Hotel. The prices are higher than what you may expect in Marrakech but the quality and service were very good - worth it if you just want to relax and not worry about taxis or food issues at the square. In fact, one of our party was ill on the first night (due to something we ate in Paris) and the restaurant staff sent tea and lemon up to our room gratis to soothe him.

We were able to stay only 3 nights due to some transportation issues but our whole family agreed we could have spent a week at the resort.

I love staying at this beautiful, elegant and timeless establishment in the heart of l'Hivernage of Marrakech. The Es Saadi is something of an institution that keeps on delivering wonderful warm, wonderful and professional service. The staff are great and each time I stay here it feels more like 'home'. Great Hotel.

Stayed for 3 nights. Had a pleasent stay for the 4 of us. We had connecting rooms, with twin beds. Initially one of the rooms was set up as a double, but was soon rectified. Beds a little soft, but that was the only negative I think.
At the time we were there at the begiining of December, the pool was not heated due to a fault, but was allowed to use the sister hotels heated pool (Palace) which was even better. Hotel is a little dated, but still very good and rooms were fine. We were on the 5th floor. facing the main roads, good view from balcony. The breakfast was buffet style and pretty good. Catering for a french food pallette but more than enough.
Staff for friendly and warming. Special shout out to Yousuf (he wears glasses) working night shift. really great rapport and customer service for our requests.

Quiet hotel within walking distance of most places

Went for four nights with my girlfriend. Very nice hotel, with a lot going on (swimming pool, bars, casino) - but also was within walking distance of most attractions which was a big plus.

The room itself was comfortable, though not everything was 100%. The shower didn't work properly and a couple of the lights didn't work. However, these issues weren't too troubling so we didn't report it to reception.

Staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was decent.

A lovely, friendly, well located hotel.

We stayed for a special wedding anniversary and it was simply perfect.
The staff were all so attentive, friendly, kind and professional. The hotel was beautifully looked after and is a nice walk from Jamar El Fna.
We will definitely return! Thoroughly recommend the hotel.

Oasis outside the medina

This property is very well maintained and a easy 10 minute walk from the Medina area. Very peaceful with lovely pool area. Very good breakfast in the morning. Decent, but not trendy, piano bar which is open late. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was spacious with balcony.

Horrible experience/Hotel incompetent hotel staff

My mom was extremely ill. She called down to concierge more than 4 times stating that she was not feeling well, it was an emergency and that she needed to get through with her family. She was unable to get through with any of us and on top of that no one from the hotel came to check up on her. She was extremely ill, weak and unable to walk. The reason for no one came up to the room according to the manager on duty was because \" it was change of shift and they were not aware\". When I travel to another country I would like to know that I am in a safe environment, especially the hotel that I am staying in. The fact that no one came to check up on my mom after she called and stated that she was not feeling well and that it was an emergency, is just appalling. I would NOT recommend any of my family or friends to stay at this hotel because of the neglect on their part towards my mother and I would not like to this happen to anyone else.

Hotel in a good location

Set in a very good location in Hivernage, Es Saadi Marakech Resort Hotel is good value for money. Breakfast staff are nice and well mannered, staff by the pool are slow and it's very hard to get their attention.

The staff in the spa are lovely.

We had the unfortunate issue of a very expensive handbag going missing in one of our rooms, which miraculously reappeared after making a complaint. The guest relations manager was meant to get back to use regarding the issue, but he did not, meaning we had to leave the hotel before resolving the issue. I've called the hotel since my stay to speak to the general manager of the resort and have still not had a response, although they have all my contact details. Very disappointing customer service!

Overall good choice

Beautiful facilities including the pool area, nice restaurant with tasty food, rooms decent size with balconies. Gym was good but in another side of the hotel. Location was convenient, near the airport

Most of the staff were friendly except those working the front desk who were rude at times. Don't expect any upgrades or much help including simple things like getting change.

Old fashioned elegance and comfort

My fiancé and i stayed at the Es Saadi for 4 nights and agreed it was a very nice hotel, the public areas have a nice grandeur to them. The grounds were lovely - a large pool, plenty of areas for lounging / eating and very tranquil - a great contrast to the old town. The adjacent Palace Hotel is next door and has an amazing pool and gardens so definitely check them out. There is a spa, a casino and a night club on site if you've an urge to spend money. The staff were excellent - very friendly and always looking to help.
My only minor criticism is that the bedroom decor was slightly dated but it's only cosmetic and not enough to put us off or affect our stay, I would definitely stay here again.

1960s Hotel

We always stay at this hotel for its friendliness. If you want to step back in time to an unchanged nineteen sixties hotel, then this is it. No card keys here - good old fashioned keys with a heavy tag. The service is not brilliant. Getting tea or coffee for breakfast is a challenge, but if you are not in a rush who cares. The restaurant is excellent for dinner and you can eat around the pool. We will probably come back here next time.

Great gardens and excellent breakfast

The ac has a major issue - the staff tried to adjust the ac but the room was super hot for both nights- Also the bathroom is a bit tired.The gardens and pool are great and the breakfast is excellent.

Great family holiday.

We were three generation family and Marrakech and El Saaid offered something for everyone. We swam, played tennis, walked in the gardens, popped into the Casino (very smokey!) and took taxis or horse drawn carriages easily to the city's attractions, and of course availed ourselves of the hamman and massage spa. Whilst not 5* at the hotel we had access to the El Saaid Palace Hotel gardens, Spa and tennis court next door. Recommended!

This hotel gives expedia a horrible name

it is a has been hotel. 5 stars price with a minus five stars service and facility. it is a has been hotel. you pay five star price but go and find your own parking and believe me it is not an easy task. we got a room that was not cleaned at first.
one person in the front desk handling phone call both personal and business and the traffic. half hour check in. when walking to my car in the morning. they summoned me because we have a room service tab like if i was running away. i thought that what they use the credit card they have of file. but if you want any kind of service good luck. i went to the casino and asked for a beer and the waiter told me that he has to check with the manager first. apprently you need permission to order a drink. I was wearing vacation clothing nice short, shirt and sandals and wanted to have a drink at the night club and Mr. Marrouane told me that i was not allowed in. I went to the front desk and express my displeasure and the gentleman insisted to take me back and Youssef at the front desk got me in and i have to say Ossama at the bar and youssef were the best part of the horrible stay. upon checkout i requested to talk to person in charge and apparently you are not allowed to do that either. i left my phone number and i am still waiting for the call.

Es Saadi Hotel Getaway

Service was personable. We had a warm welcome and everyone at the hotel was exceptional. Each day the level of service remained of a high standard. Recommend going to the Palace and the Coure De Lion restaurant, with great Morrocon food, excellent service and great views.

The room was a good size with a comfy bed and a great little balcony overlooking the pool area. The air conditioning could have been better.

Pool area was great, food and drinks served at your chair. Gardens in the grounds of the hotel were very peaceful and ideal for a nice stroll. Oriental Spa was very relaxing.

Lovely hotel just outside the city walls.

We had a lovely, relaxing 9 days at this French owned hotel which has been owned by the same family for many years. The guests tend to return and the staff remember them. The weather was fantastic, the staff extremely friendly and the food was good. Breakfast is held outside (or in if one prefers) under the trees and one can eat as much as one wants which meant we hardly had to eat lunch! I chose to have a package of treatments in the spa which is located next to the pool. Again, I felt they were good and it was cheaper to take the package than to have a number of individual sessions. The pool was very clean and the water a lovely temperature. The bar in the evenings had excellent cocktails at very reasonable prices and there was live background music. We ate in most nights but there are many good restaurants within walking or taxi ride. Taxis are cheap but fix the rate before starting the journey!

Not a 5 star hotel

Too noisy at night as our room faced the casino and nightclub. Shouting and cars racing down street and horns blaring at 5 am every morning when the casino closed. Poor air conditioning in room which blew our hot air making room unbearably hot. No way of controlling the Air conditioning just an on/off switch.
