Small, quaint. Good for a one night before our early flight. Would be a bit cramped for multi day or a a home base to explore the city. Bit far from the old town but easliy walkable to cool sight seeing.

Really poor hotel, no coffee or tea facilities in the room, no receptionist after 8pm with front door closed if you’re stuck. Rooms getting cleaned is a lottery and it’s not very well cleaned we found empty water bottles under bed from previous occupants. Would avoid this hotel at all costs

Safe, clean, quiet, everyone was very nice. Neighborhood was nice. Room was quaint and comfy. Mini bar was reasonably priced and stocked with quality beer and liquor and snacks albeit I didn't partake; I brought my own. Bed was comfy, but I didn't like the pillows. Hot water was hot - yes! Definitely would stay here again, but bring my own pillow. Bed was better than my bed at home - very comfy!

This was a comfortable stay at a place with plenty of character and located in a residential neighborhood. At this family run hotel the staff was hospitable and provided a delicious breakfast for a reasonable price. It was in reasonable walking distance to the tram or to the train. Also had good restaurants and cafes within walking distance. It is just good to be aware that the front desk is not staffed late at night or in the early morning hours.

Had such a perfect restful few days here. The hosts were just amazing, welcoming, organised and really helpful while also giving your own space. The hotel is so so safe and quiet, in a very elegant neighbourhood. It is extremely clean and very well organised. I did a lot of travelling during my stay and was so grateful to come ‘home’ to thel Laimer Hof each evening to rest and recover. I could watch the tennis and wake up to a beautiful dawn chorus.

I was super lazy and took a taxi most places as it was very reasonable, but I know it is also very easy to use public transport. I also walked back from the city centre 1 evening and it was a lovely walk back, very straightforward and interesting.

I loved that the hotel had so much useful tourist advice - it really helped me make decisions about where to visit.

I was also so appreciative that they had a laundry service for a small extra charge, nothing was too much trouble and the laundry came back perfect, folded carefully and smelling lovely - just makes all the difference when you’re abroad.

I truly loved this hotel and highly recommend it.

Not sure about the other reviews but I stayed here for about 2 nights. Honestly, its good. The bed, bathroom was good. The fridge inside was good so you can put your medicine or w/e to chill. I did not get the breakfast but you don’t need as Aldi Süd/Edeka Express is near Laim S-Bahn station (12 min walk straight). This hotel is close to Schloss Nymphenburg if you intend on visiting (10 min walk).

Otherwise good stay, just know that in Germany, no A/C machine so natural “A/C” is cracking the windows open

This hotel is close to the Nymphenburg Palace and set in a quiet neighborhood away from the city. It was a great place to rest the first couple nights we were in Germany to help with jet lag.
It was a short drive into the city. Public transportation is available, but we didn't have Euros and it seemed easier to drive.
Breakfast was a buffet of meats, cheeses, breads, and fruits. You could also have items made to order.
The room and bathroom were quite small. There are no lifts in this hotel.
Overall, we enjoyed this hotel because it was quaint and the staff was very friendly.

It was a very small, dark attic room. Bed was comfortable, thankfully. Bathroom was modern and clean with good water pressure. The complimentary water bottles were already opened and used which was rather gross. We had to open the windows to get some fresh air and the pedestrian noise after midnight was pretty loud and you could smell people smoking cigarettes outside too. I booked this place specifically for the reviews and free parking, but they only have a handful of parking spots that are long taken before we arrived. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Expedia listed this as a VIP booking but I don't know why. There was nothing VIP about this room or experience.

My wife and I stayed here during the great December blizzard of 2023. The staff could not have been more helpful. (a special shout-out to Tobias). While the hotel is not within walking distance of the historic city center, during non-blizzard times there is easy access by train and subway. And during the blizzard, we walked to the Nymphenburg Palace and some cute local cafés, which are all within a few blocks.

Nice Little Place, Just no Parking

I booked this hotel specifically because on Hotels.com it stated that it had parking. Well, they have 4 spots and they were all taken the whole time we were there. We had to park a distance away on the streets. At least there was no charge for street parking. Also, be aware there is no elevator. So be ready for stairs. The breakfast was lovely and all else was very nice.

if you like a room the size of a postage stamp this is your place! Shower was VERY small. No A/C (they had a standing fan in the room), went for Oktoberfest and they jacked up the prices $$$$. Breakfast was a joke - cold cereals and day old fruit/meats plus they charge 11 Euros!!! Insulting. When i complained i was told basically that is what it is take it or leave it. the Hôtel is not near much and in residential area, garbage trucks every morn at 7am. Don't waste your money here.

The only strike (and it is a big one) is the complete joke of a breakfast.

All tables dirty, guests asking for towels to bus tables.l themselves.

I arrived one hour before close and there was no water or milk. All food was gone. Dead wasp in the apple juice.

Cold coffee. All tea -except weird flavors- was gone.

I ended up eating cornflakes from a teacup with a fork.

Too bad, because I left the hotel on such a down note.

If I stay there again, I’d write off the breakfast and go to a cafe near the Palace.

It was within walking distance of public transportation. The property was farther from the city than I had hoped with limited dining options in the area. Though rooms in Europe are often small, these were tiny with very tiny bathrooms. When we’re arrived, our toilet did not flush and the desk clerk acted responded as if they knew. Maybe it was lost in translation. It was repaired while we were out in the city. The people were very pleasant and the breakfast was good.

While our 2-day visit coincided with a heat wave ( 90F), we were very disappointed in the hotel and its amenities. The rooms reminded me of a dormitory. Small/cramped, older, small bathrooms, no A/C in the hotel and the most minimal and un-amazing breakfast of our entire week-long tour thru Germany (not even English breakfast tea bags).

The hotel was in a great location though, a short walk to Schloss Nymphenburg with its expansive gardens. But be prepared for lots of walking to and from.

At first was put off by how small the room was. There were little things like a small cabinet in the bathroom that really helped. The room was very clean and the nice staff brought coffee to our room when we asked. Quiet pretty location and could walk to the train. Loved the windows that opened different ways to let fresh air in. Except room size very nice.

Tiny room. We were supposed to have a desk in the room to work from. Ended up having to sit on the bed and put the laptop on the window ledge to set it up as a mock table. Yes, the bed and window were that close together Even though we were received notification before we arrived that our room had been upgraded, there is no way this was an upgrade. We stayed here because it was close to family and friends. We won't be back and we won't recommend

The room we had was too small for a double for two adults, with little space for luggage. The bathroom was also quite tight for toilet and shower space. No in room coffee.

The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood with free parking BUT, the room was dark, dank and not clean. There were bugs on the walls, dirty glasses in the bathroom, and a broken window and shower door, and a very uncomfortable bed! Expedia VIP status was not recognized and when we asked about a different room we were told by the desk attendant that we should stay elsewhere next time. Well that’s my recommendation for future guests also!

The overall experience at this ‘VIP’ property was really disappointing. When we asked about the free room upgrade we are apparently entitled to as VIP Expedia members we were told we would have to pay extra.
The room itself was fairly disappointing and in need of updating. It was missing things such as a safe, a full length mirror, in room tea and coffee facilities and AC (the AC I can understand though as this is Europe and the building is old).
The bed was made with only one flat pillow per person. One day when we arrived back at our room we had no towels and had to ask for them. Also no still (only sparkling) bottled water was available which just seemed like a bit of an oversight. In general, it seems this hotel could benefit from paying better attention to small details that really make or break a stay. Definitely not VIP.

Easy 5 min walk through around the corner and you are in the palace park very close to one of the park ground small palaces. Great location. This hotel is unique and the staff were pleasant. The front desk person was pleasant overall and was helpful in giving information about the surrounding area. We had a double twin room and it was okay. We only used it as a sleeping space, so it sufficed. Parking is somewhat limited around the area, but we were able to find a spot about a block away. Breakfast was delicious and the woman who makes it was very attentive, which we appreciated. All in all, a unique and pleasant experience staying at this hotel.

Nice way out of the way place - Not great for city

We booked this location for several reasons but it fell short. It is a very small place and unfortunately we were placed in the top floor with our 2 dogs where it was very hot and very inconvenient to take them in and out as needed for minimum disturbance to others. Also, the room was outdated, not antiques, but outdated. We were to have a bottle of wine at check in and it was not present nor did they seem to know what we were talking about even though it was on our reservation. Roads in and out are one way and extremely tight if you are driving there. The owners were nice and friendly but the second day when we explained that we needed to check out early due to an emergency they state ok we can let you check out because its an emergency but you are not getting a refund. I wasn't asking permission to check out. I was checking out as we had an emergency. Our dog injured her leg while we were in the park and while driving our check engine light came on and we have a 5 hour drive back to our vet and home. I also didn't ask for a refund, however, they could have asked about the emergency and showed that they cared just a bit. This was very disappointing. We would not stay here again just because money was the focus in the end and not care for your customers. By the way we would have still made a comment that the mattress needs to be replaced as it is sagging and caused extreme discomfort the previous night as well.

This is an oasis of friendly comfort and service that has sadly disappeared from the landscape. You won’t find the hospitality provided by Sebastian, Alexandria, Zoey and staff at any hotel chain. I can not recommend staying here enough! You see, traveling to a different culture is all about learning and interacting which they understand and you leave with an experience more valuable than all the sights you can visit. If you choose to stay here, you will be very glad you did.

This hotel was adorable, it was actually more like a bed and breakfast. It was in a quiet neighborhood outside of the city. It was beautiful to walk around the neighborhood. Everyone in the hotel was so friendly and helpful. The room was very cute. We did not get a chance to stay for breakfast the next morning but it looked like it was very good. This was a different type of stay and I would recommend it.

Great family-run hotel near Nymphenburg Palace (and in summer near the Hirschgarten beergarden). The hotel is in a charming historic Villa in a residential neighborhood but public transport is only a short walk away and gets you directly into the city center. The room was very clean and comfortable and the service was very friendly. Will definitely stay here again.

My husband and I spent 3 nights here. I was hesitant at first due to the location. However, it is extremely easy to get into the heart of the city with public transportation. It was nice to leave the car parked (free parking). The room was very clean. I can not say enough on how friendly and helpful the staff is. The customer service was above and beyond our expectations. Can't say enough wonderful things about Sebastian and the staff at Laimer Hof. So kind and so caring . Location is terrific too and easy to get around yet a bit away from it all. Highly recommend and would stay again. Advice -- be honest with the physical size of you and your guest(s) as some of the rooms have relatively tight squeezes in the shower and in the toilet placement that can be a bit snug if you're large. Quiet and clean.

Hotel is located in a quiet residential area close to Nymphenburg palace. Parking is free but along the streets. Room was clean and comfortable. Toilet was new and modern. There is no elevator and I had to carry my luggage up to our 3rd level room with help from the reception desk guy. Should have asked for a ground floor room. From my interaction, fellow guests seem educated and distinguished. Had dinner at a cosy Italian restaurant just 5 mins walk from hotel. Food was delicious. Will recommend this if looking for quiet place to stay and free parking.

Perhaps it’s my fault, but from the photos online and reviews, I was expecting a hotel with a bit more ambiance - my husband and I are on a couple’s trip and wanted something cozy and romantic. This is a really a motel; I wouldn’t say it’s even fair to call it a bed and breakfast - there is no charm at all in the room/hotel decor; it’s really just bare bones. The staff are as nice as everyone says - offering us a bottle of wine and a partial refund when we decided to cut short our stay. They, and the neighboring Nymphenburg Palace, are the attractions here. It’s rare to stay at a family-run hotel, with such nice, attentive, welcoming and accommodating owners. It was not to our taste, but I would still recommend the Hotel Laimer Hof to people looking for simple, clean and friendly accommodations.

First night in Munich was very great! Sebastian and his wife make this place super charming and lovable! It is a bit far from the city and a hassle to use the trolley but this B&B is so charming! We stayed on the 3rd floor, which I do not recommend unless you like climbing stairs after a long day of walking. Breakfast had good European choices! Would definitely stay again!

Fantastic locally owned property in a gorgeous neighborhood of Munich. For anyone that prefers to stay in a more residential area but also enjoys hotels versus other types of housing, this is a great option.
Every single person that works here is very friendly and helpful with any directions or help that is needed. Breakfast is delicious and rooms and amenities were very nice. Location is marvelous and easy access to the city center.

Our experience at Hotel Laimer Hof was nothing short of perfect. Of course, due to being a small family run hotel you will not find the latest and greatest luxuries, but what made it the best hotel experience I have ever had were the people. Alexandra and Sebastian are incredible hosts. And Jan, who greeted and checked us in on the first day, was instrumental in making me and my fiancée feel welcomed. It was our first time in Europe and Jan answered all of our questions and concerns perfectly.

Our room was small and cozy but clean and well kept. Just big enough for two people and 3 suitcases. I enjoyed that the windows could be fully opened to let in the fresh autumn breeze. My fiancée and I were out sightseeing most of the daytime and night so the room did its job as sleeping accommodations.

I definitely recommend their breakfast option. Simple but filling and tasty.

The location was great too. About a 15 minute walk from the Laim S Bahn stop and 5 minutes from the magnificent Schloss Nymphemberg.

We would absolutely recommend Hotel Laimer Hof to anyone staying in Munich!

Exceptional service + high-value...

This is a great place because the owners, Sebastian and Alexandra, work exceptionally hard to make your stay as smooth and comfortable as it can be. There is no question they won't answer with anything less than genuine enthusiasm, forethought and kindness, which means everything in hospitality. Also, the great location near Schloss Nymphenburg is awesome. Worth noting is that the room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The wireless worked perfectly, too. I did not have the breakfast, but heard others speak highly of it. In short, if you are coming to Munich and staying at the Hotel Laimer Hof, you are in great hands.

A great property with character and history. Situated in a very smart suburb with excellent transport links to the city centre and airport. The hosts [Sebastian and Alexandra] were welcoming, informative, helpful and ensured all guests' needs are met. Breakfast is very good, super range and wide choice. Perfect location on an upscale residential street, yet walking distance to the palace. Their staff including Louis and Sebastian go above and beyond to meet their guests' every need. They even did our laundry within 2 hours! Thanks for an amazing stay!

The hospitality shown by the owners was outstanding.
We were made to feel very welcome, given advice on where to go and how to get there. The proximity to public transit and to the Nymphenburg gardens was a great plus. The room was comfortable with sufficient space. Breakfasts were more than adequate.We loved the little touches like free laundry, a welcoming drink, and a cold bottle of water to send us on our way.
The only difficulty we had was with the extreme heat for the week, and no air conditioning, so that sleeping was difficult. There was a good fan, but the noise was bothersome. Otherwise, I would heartily recommend the Laimerhof.

Sebastian,Alexandra and all of their staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They gave us any information we needed. They even gave me a nice Birthday surprise. Our room was always clean and neighborhood quiet. The breakfasts were better than a restaurants. Easy access to public transportation. We are planning another stay next year.

Great Hotel that is Worth a Visit

A small, quaint hotel with all of the German charm you would expect. The front desk staff are perhaps some of the friendliest my wife and I have ever encountered. They go out of their way to insure your stay is a pleasant one.

Like other European hotels, the rooms at the Hotel Laimer are not large and they are VERY efficient with the room they do provide. That said, they are tastefully appointed. Also a reminder . . . DO NOT forget an adapter/converter plug for your electronics!

The hotel is within very close walking distance to the famous Schloss Nymphenburg Palace and the Hirschgarten Bier Garten (for bier lovers, this is the largest bier garten in Munchen and is a must see). Access to public transit, especially the trolley, is also close by and provides easy (and cheap) transportation into the city center and all it has to offer: tours, the famous Hofbrauhaus, Marianplatz and the Glockenspiel, St. Peter's Cathedral and more. Did I mention that the food and bier are AMAZING!

One thing worth mentioning is to keep track whether your reservations include breakfast (12 euro/day/person). We made our reservation so far in advance of our trip that we quite frankly forgot we had included it and we weren't informed of that fact until we checked out 3 days later. Our oversight, but a reminder upon check-in would have been nice.

Munich in One day

The property was located in an excellent neighborhood. We were able to walk to dinner and attractions. Check in/out was easy. Room was quaint. with a large adjoining bathroom. The window opened for fresh air and they also had a fan available In the room. I would recommend this property!
