I contacted both the hotel and Expedia to cancel this booking because I had to travel to my country due to a family emergency. Unfortunately, neither of them was able to help me with the cancellation. Now that I'm back, I see that the reservation was never canceled, and I'm being charged the full amount. This is extremely disappointing. I did everything I could to cancel in advance, yet I received no assistance. The customer service I experienced was unacceptable, and I would appreciate a review of my case and a fair resolution.

The best part is obviously the location a short walk to the most beautiful beach! The ladies in the office were amazing, kind helpful, and very friendly to us. That’s the second best thing. The restaurant on the property was so nice. We basically walked 20 feet to get our meals no hassle at all I would stay again. The maintenance guy was busting his butt trying to keep everything clean. He was also very helpful constantly checking on us to make sure we were satisfied.

This hotel is a marvelous remodel and update from times past! You will not lack modern convenience while you enjoy the ability to leave your room and walk directly to the beach.
The kitchenette has all the basics you need as far as pots, pans, dishes, silverware, toaster, and coffeemaker. You only need your ingredients to fill the full size refrigerator. Oven meals can be made ahead of time and reheated in the microwave, as only burners are available.
There is a grocery store (Acme) within a few minutes of the hotel and a Walmart 20 minutes away as well.
The room is spacious and comfortable. There is ample seating available, unlike many other hotels I have visited. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful.

What is very nice is the beach access. Just beyond the parking lot is a station where you can shower off the sand. You can go full body, waist down, or feet only. There are benches provided to sit and get your shoes on and take a rest from your climb over the dunes. The path over the dunes has a nice boardwalk.

As a disabled woman with mobility issues, this was a minimally accessible hotel if you use a walker, cane, crutches, or forearm crutches. You may manage with a small wheelchair, but I would only suggest it if the person using it is able to transfer independently.
There are no ramps and only one handicapped parking space.
The place was very clean! Of course it had signs of use, not everything is brand new. But that adds to the charm.

From the moment we arrived at the Coliseum Ocean Resort, we felt welcomed and at home. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, friendly, and stress-free. The location is unbeatable — just steps from the beach with stunning ocean views right outside your door.

Our room was spotless, well-maintained, and equipped with everything we needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the balcony provided the perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee while watching the sunrise. The on-site amenities, including the sparkling clean pool and convenient parking, made our stay even more enjoyable.

One of the highlights was the resort’s proximity to local attractions, dining, and shops, while still being in a peaceful, family-friendly part of Wildwood Crest. It’s the ideal balance of relaxation and convenience.

Wonderful Wedding Anniversary

My husband and I could not have asked for a better location to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary! We were greeted by friendly staff that made us feel welcome immediately! The room was spacious, clean and updated! We enjoyed having the full kitchen and loved waking up by the ocean! The room was equipped with coffee, utensils, dishes, fresh linens daily, pots for cooking and Webber grill on the patio. It was lovely sitting out on the patio and sipping our morning coffee with an ocean view! We also enjoyed the convenience of Roma’s restaurant right on the premises for milkshakes, breakfast, pizza or midnight snacks since they are open until 2:00am.
Did I mention the heated pool ? I could go on and on… we are definitely going back next year!

If you have a suburban or large vehicle of similar size, you better be prepared to crawl out the rear window after you park. My 20yr old CRV just barely squeaks in between with enough space for my skinny white ass to step out sideways. Parking everywhere is limited.

This was a spur of the moment family vacation, so options were limited. I’ll be honest; I had very low expectations.

Been coming to Wildwood for the last 4 years and this place is my far the best we’ve stayed at. Room was nice. It was clean. It was sufficient fit the 6 of us. The staff was friendly and helpful. Had good conversations with the one lady at front desk.

As others mentioned, parking tight for larger vehicles and carrying luggage and cooler up 3 flights of narrow stairs was a negative but didn’t ruin the experience.

Overall would stay again.

Love this place. It is quiet, clean and right on the beach. They had a family reunion which occupied most of the rooms while we stayed the one night, but they were no problem and quiet when they needed to be. ONLY problem is the small space for parking very close to each car on each side of you.

The pictures of this place were very misleading. The room was small. The bathroom was beyond small. The area is safe. Nice walkway to the beach. There’s a pizza shop on the property. All in all we had a good time but those tiny rooms aren’t worth it. If you have to pay over $100.00 for the room just look elsewhere.

Our room key wasn’t working and we had to wait over 1 and a half hours for the manager, who we called over 20 times before he responded. Once he arrived the attitude and service was over all terrible. During our stay the room floor was constantly wet. The area was nice and this place would be a lot better under better management.

Upon arrival to our room the silverware in the kitchenette had food caked on it, the cups in cabinet had hair and bugs in it. The couch cushions where stained with stuck on food. The two room suite only had air conditioning in the living room so you couldn’t shut the bedroom door and the bathroom was in the bedroom. Light fixtures were rusted, and I had to go buy a broom to sweep the living room floor

Coliseum Ocean Resort is a hidden gem. It is right on the beach and is under new ownership who is in the process of making some nice upgrades. The place was very clean and the staff were extremely pleasant. Good suggestions for restaurants, but we cooked in. Every thing we needed was there. We would go again.

I’m not a picky person. This stay was so bad we left and rented another hotel on our last night. The staff were all friendly. I would have given them a higher review, but they let guests block the stairs to get to and from our room. They let guests play loud music past the quiet hours. The place had sand all over the floor before we checked in. The place is dated with rusty appliances and chipped paint. Which I would over look. This is a hotel is for people with kids that want to sit outside their hotel making a bunch of noise. I recommend the crusader motel instead.

The room is what I was not expecting. Pictures on the website way different from what we had. Kitchen and bathroom needs to be upgraded. Uncomfortable beds without headboards. We can’t fit all at the Tiny table, so we ate partially. Sofa in the living room might be replaced. The main point that it is on the beach. So we didn’t walk far. Beautiful view from the balcony. The hotel was completing renovations while we stayed and thankfully we stayed in a room that was clean and updated. However, we went out the night we checked in to walk on the beach. When we got back, we found our room key wouldn’t work. We tried to just lightly push on the door as a last ditch effort and found that the door just completely opened. We looked at the door frame and found there was NO LATCH for the door to lock into. The door didn’t even shut properly and the office was closed to even mention it to anyone. We had to barricade the door in order to feel safe to sleep there last night. When we brought it up to the hotel, they gaslit us and said that the door did lock electronically and could only be accessed by a room key. 1- the room key didn’t work. 2- the door didn’t even close or have a latch to secure the door. Do. Not. Stay. Here. They don’t care about your safety and don’t care if their rooms actually close or not. Pictures below for proof of door not being able to shut

For the price we paid, we were not expecting the Ritz, but I'll try and give it to you straight. The location on the beach was fantastic. The pool was clean and well maintained. The parking is very convient, yet tight.

The building is crying for an update, especially in the rooms. Frayed, stained carpets, worn countertops and cabinets. We reported a mouse in our room to front desk. A mgr came up immediately and investigated, but honestly, there's nothing he could do to remedy the situation immediately. I get it. It's an older bldg on the beach. Rodents/pests are a fact of life. But it's the first time in my travels that I've seen a mouse in a room I was renting.

If you're looking for a no frills place to rest your head for 8 hrs a night, take a quick shower, and complete a bowell movement while you visit the beach - it accomplishes that at a reasonable price.

Anything more, increase your budget and stay elsewhere.

Parking spaces way too narrow- I can't believe they are up to code if there is one in Wildwood Crest. This alone stops me from ever going there again. I am a small individual at 5'2' and am within my weight range- still had a real hard time getting (squeezing) out of the car once it was parked----I think my CAR was too fat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our room on third floor met the requirements and that's it. There was no dresser in the front LR for guests 5 & 6 if you have them. No night table between the beds for a lamp (you could use the deep window ledge for water bottle, eye glasses, phone etc.) but have to get up to shut room light off. AC = OK. Kitchen table small with comfortable plastic chairs ( 6 of them--2 were stacked in the bed room). Had to reconnect the chain in toilet after first flush but seemed ok after that. Bathroom had small sink. Refrigerator leaked water to kitchen floor so used towel to soak it up-- they were unlucky with the frig. choice -- I could deal with that.
Not many TV Channels. I would've liked some sort of decorating to make room attractive but not so.
Rooms were nicely painted and seemed clean to me. Did get a good nights sleep on the bed. Was only there for one night so I dealt with the disappointments. But--way too much money for this 3rd floor bare bones room. Felt like it was a rip off even though it was beachfront. Must say the staff we encountered were all great. I really don't know if all the other rooms were as uninviting as this one.

They could have provided paper towels in the kitchen area. Th floors in the room, kitchen and bathroom were filthy. Typical Jersey shore hotel. Its definitely in need of updating. The bathroom kitchen combo was very small. You can flip the bacon in the kitchen as you sit on the bowl. Maids do a good job cleaning. Its right on the beach so if you have a family with to stuff to lug around it sure makes it easier. Also, having a restaurant on site ( not part of hotel) helps grabs snacks while you are at the pool or on the beach. 2nd time here and would use again

Beautiful hotel, friendly people... immediately on the beach...no getting in your car and fighting for parking. Their pool is warm and clean, there’s a pizzari across from the pool with food for all three meals. The room was smaller and a little different than expected but it was clean and maintained and very well air conditioned! Cute little kitchenette... you couldn’t beat the price! The owners let us remained parked in the parking lot after check out, so we could spend our last day at the beach.
I would stay at resort again in a heartbeat. Great management!

Second worst hotel stay ever.

We arrived to the hotel and sand was all over the kitchen floor. Which would've been okay if there was a broom we could atleast clean it with. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the pillows felt like I was resting my head on something from the 80's quite flat like a pancake with no head support. We went to the beach only to find out when we came back that the shower head was basically defective that's how low the water pressure was. It wouldn't even take the sand off of my legs. Not to mention the uncomfortably small bathroom which (I get it you get what you pay for) but I've stayed at hotels for much less money and had much more of a comfortable experience.
I can say with confidence that it was probubly the second worst hotel stay I ever experienced. Only because the worst hotel experience I ever had was at a hotel in Hershey PA two years ago and we got bed bugs from the comfort in out there. The manager denied that their was bed bugs and refused to pay me back which is where capital one came in and said naw this ain't yours. And sent me my money back.
So this definitely wasnt the worst hotel experience I ever had, however I had much more room to walk around at the other hotel we stayed at the night before down the street a mile or so. (American safari)

The hotel is situated on the beach. The room was really clean. Even though the building is old, it has been well kept. The owners are cheerful and are there to answer all questions. Will recommend this place to family and friends.

We love the Coliseum. The staff is friendly and the accommodations clean and sufficient for our family’s needs. We love that it is right on the beach with convenient parking & has a fully equipped kitchenette. We’ll definitely stay here again!

A touch of Wildwood 50 years ago

Nothing fancy, but very nice \"retro\" style hotel. On beach, clean pool and rooms. Pleasant hosts. Good value.

Everything you need

The lobby staff was very polite. They have an ice cream/pizza shop on site which was very convenient. The hotel isn’t luxurious but it’s everything you need. My kids favorite part was swimming in the heated pool at night.

Fantastic location but place is dated

Fantastic location, on the beach, the place is little rundown and worn. Looks like everything is 'preserved' from the nineties :-), also parking lots are limited and small if you have a large SUV or Truck can be challenging.

The property is well maintained and clean. The pool is really nice. The staff are excellent. I was just a little surprised at the smallness of the bedroom. I didn't realize (or read) that it was that small but it was clean and had two full sized beds which we wanted. The kitchen was cute and had everything we needed for our short stay. Small bathroom but had everything we needed.
