Although the hotel, decor and fixtures were older, the rooms and property were immaculate. We had a standard room with a full bed (3rd floor - no elevator) and it was very spacious. The room had a new decent sized fridge, microwave and small kitchen area with sink and small 2 burner stove. You could tell everything was freshly painted, clean and maintained. The motel is close to the beach, and the pool always had plenty of loungers.

There were also barbecues and games available for the guests. You can tell the motel is well taken care of, and I can’t think of anything negative to say.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here over 4th of July. That being said- it’s an old property and the rooms are very old and not updated in the slightest. For us the proximity ro the beach, nice pool, laid back staff, and good location for fun made it worth it. The rooms had 2 small hard beds that thankfully we were able to push together to make one larger bed to fit our family, there were not many outlets in the rooms, and the curtains were useless. There also was a bright light shining in our room all night that they said they could not turn off. But we still had a great time because of all the other things. It’s cheaper to book directly with them- don’t use this site to book.

Let’s start with the seagulls in the pool. Hotel was old, floor slanted from front door to bathroom, 2 inch crack under the door, bathroom from the 70’s. No ice machine-avail to purchase in lobby-cash only. A shore hotel is expected to be musty but this was unbearable the price for 2 nights is robbery. Hotels.com should remove them from their list of recommended stays. A very uncomfortable weekend-very disappointing

There was a dead fly under an upside down “clean” coffee cup , there was multiple dead bugs on the floor in the room. The sheets had obvious stains on them. I guess when you book a cheap motel, that’s what you get, a cheap motel.

For the price I paid, I’m happy with the stay. It is what it is. An old motel in Wildwood. It has a nice pool, a coffee shop, and it’s a block from the beach and close enough to the boardwalk.

Our air conditioning didn't work. Took 4 hours for maintenance to show up to fix it. All the table with umbrella's were broken. Holes were repaired with duct tape. The facility is very dated. None of the palm trees had palms on them. None of the pool security railings were painted during the off season. It appears like very little, if any, maintenance is done to the property. Our friends were there with us. The lock on their room door was broken. When they finally gained entry the lock had to be left unlocked for the duration of their time. I would never go back.

We had a wonderful stay at the Tangiers Motel. The room was very clean, comfortable, and cozy, with everything needed for a relaxing and enjoyable visit to Wildwood Beach. The beds were comfortable, helping us get a great night's sleep after a day at the beach.

The property is well maintained, and the atmosphere is welcoming and pleasant. It is clear that a lot of care goes into making guests feel comfortable during their stay.

A special thank you to all the managers, administrators, and staff members who work hard behind the scenes to provide such a positive experience. Your dedication, hospitality, and attention to detail are truly appreciated.

The room smelled clean but it was extremely old. The vent in the kitchen was so full of dust, we know they did not clean or give a new couch covering because we found a previous guests AirPods in the covering. The refrigerator had rust inside of it.
The air conditioner worked well so that was a plus , but I can just imagine how dirty the vent was. The toilet bowl didn’t flush well. The chairs outside the room were rusted. The stairs leading up to the room looked rotten. I will never stay there again. The lady at the desk could not be nicer that’s all I can say about anything being nice

Booked a night at Tangiers for my husband's birthday. After checking im we were directed to park by the room. Multiple parking spots were being held with plastic lawn chairs by a group that were staying at the motel. My husband pulled up and politely asked one of the group members if he could move their chairs so we could park. The gentlemen was immediately hostile and said they are part of a group of elks that have been staying there for 30 years and this is what they do. He proceeded to tell us to go complain to the office they won't do anything about it. We went back to the office and spoke to Marlene at the front desk who said she would let the guest know they couldn't do that. We waited a few mins and walked back down to see what was going on. At that point more of the group members came out and started screaming and cursing at us and threatening to fight my husband. We walked back to the office and a husband and wife that were part of the group began arguing with us there. We called the police who spoke to the group and told them to stay away from us. At that point we no longer felt safe to stay there after being threatened multiple times. We stay in Wildwood most summers and have never experienced anything like this. We never even stepped foot in the room... I am currently waiting a call back from the manager regarding my open case with hotels.com for our refund. We had so much anxiety and stress that we never made it to dinner and drove 2 hours home. Birthday ruined.

Property was old looking, Smelled like pee, holes in the wall. The people rung me up and it was 87.00 compared to the hundred and something I paid using Expedia. I had to hold the handle down as instructed by the sign located above the toilet for contents to go down. The room didn’t look nothing like the picture on website. It was cold and windy out the day/night of stay and I wasn’t able to turn heat on.

We have been going to Wildwood since we were kids. This was my 60th birthday trip. The beds were not comfortable. The linens and towels had different kinds of stains on them. Looked like stains that could not be washed out. The toilet had to be flushed repeatedly after every use. There were limited outlets. They did supply soap but no shampoo. The pool was very nice. Everyone we encountered was very nice. If you are going to send your customers a long list of why they would keep your deposit, then you should do better! We would not sray here again and would not recommend. Soraying the rooms to make them smell good does not mask the black cracks in the walls or the stains on the carpet.

It’s close to the beach and boardwalk. The rooms have excellent ac and working refrigerators. Literally the only downside was the bed. I’d stay again but bring a mattress topper.

Why Expidia have these type of deals?. I could cancelled my reservation Expedia didn’t allow it.
The front receptionist did the best she can Simon. The first room assigned to me was in very very poor condition to stay( bad smell, the wall was damaged of water) I don’t understand how they have that for a guest. The second room thanks to Simon was a little better but not the best. I don’t recommend this motel.

Overall we had a good stay. The staff were nice and helpful. The room was clean and slightly remodeled. There were no lamps at all only one ceiling light in each of the two rooms. The bathroom was outdated and very tiny but it got the job done. There was a bedroom with no closet and no tv and seemed like an after thought. It was kind of creepy feeling so we stayed in the main room. The bed was very hard and covered in plastic which was noisy. There was a very tiny tv and the sound was really hard to hear over the in wall air conditioner. We had a very expensive order of pancakes and French toast at the diner that is there. Food was decent but $35 for breakfast seemed pricey. Overall it wasn’t bad and the room was affordable.

It looks like the property needed some attention. There was weeds all around the other shrubs. As far as the pool I wouldn’t even think to go in it, the pool guy really had zero interest in taking care of it. There was black dirt buildup on the railing dividing the kiddie pool from the deep end it was so nasty. It just needs some updating. Even with the employees (definitely the pool guy) and most definitely work attire.

Mid Century Motel needs a savior

This is a motel built probably in a 1960s. The bathroom fixtures are all still original as is the tile. You will see rust stains in the cast-iron sink at the drain and overflow tube. The toilet has low water pressure which requires one to hold the handle down until it completely flushes, and it also runs periodically. The carpet is honestly filthy and so is the couch. The chairs also heavily stained. The cleaning crew does a very good job of cleaning however they can’t remove stains from worn out carpets and furniture. There was only four spoons and four forks one dull steak knife. There were enough dishes for two people. There was a coffee machine Keurig, but they did not supply the K cups, so we could not use it. The can opener was bent and unusable. The front desk did not know what a can opener was and first gave me a knife to open a can and then a cork screw. They didn’t understand the concept of a can opener. They were foreign workers so I assume in their country they don’t use sealed cans.
The fake plastic palm trees are missing the palms and they look like dead, fake palm trees. There is a shuffleboard court and table tennis. However, there are no balls and paddles and no shuffleboard disc and sticks. The exterior the building has flaking and deteriorating paint and the exterior wood is water damaged. they have a breakfast and lunch diner on site however we didn’t try it. The pool was very good and was reasonably clean.

For the price I paid it was decent, but the motel is very very very old. It looks like nothing has been redone since it was first opened which I don’t mind. It was very clean but the bed was terrible. I needed 4 blankets to cushion the material so I didn’t wake up in pain. Also the blinds kept no light out at night it looked like daytime in my room all night long. If these two factors were adjusted I would most certainly stay here again.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!

I booked for a week with my family. My kids and I came down early since my husband was working. First impression was the place is completely run down. (Think seaside motels circa 1990s).
Room was totally dated and who puts carpeting in a seaside motel with sand and water! Smelled musty. And hallways also had carpet so it was gross.
First night we were “ok” EXCEPT woke up to sugar ants EVERYWHERE!! Luckily I had put the clothes on the other side of the room but my other stuff in the closet area were covered (including my sons baby bottles) I was disgusted and literally just cleaning and throwing everything in the shower to rinse the ants off. I went to the front desk and told them I wanted a new room immediately and have someone spray. Can you believe they asked for picture evidence…I was furious…sorry I was too busy taking care of my 2 screaming children who were freaking out and cleaning up the mess to whip out my phone!!
2nd room was the same except the mold and mildew was making us cough…luckily I travel with a nebulizer bc my daughter had an asthma attack. Next day I went down stairs and immediately checked the F out of there and went to a new hotel!! I’m fighting for my money back. I’ve never stayed in such a disgusting hotel in my life and I felt awful my kids had to endure 2 nights there. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else…even if it costs a few $$ more!! Oh and the toilet didn’t flush unless you stood there and held it down for about 30 seconds!

Liked reasonable rates. Disliked door handle did not work, took 10 minutes to try and open. Management sprayed lock with WD 40 which only temporarily worked then back to problem opening. I knew going in what to expect. For our needs with four teenagers, this was fine for a few days. However, the fridge died just as soon as our groceries were put away. We switched rooms, which was fine, to discover the fridge in the new room had ants. They took care of that situation quickly and it worked out but still gross. The wall is literally crumbling around the AC unit and the bathrooms need to be gutted. The property has SUCH potential because the location is great but it seems like the owners, who I think are new, are in over their heads and don’t know what they are doing. We won’t be returning and have learned my lesson about going a little cheaper.

Don’t expect 5 star lodging. This property is old but the rooms are clean. Even though the bathroom is old school turquoise and pink porcelain and the pipes are rusted, it’s clean. Plenty of towels. No sand on the tile is the living area and our socks and bare feet stayed clean. AC unit cooled the whole unit efficiently. Staff friendly and accommodating. On-site restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. Pool clean. Small gift shop with sun essentials.

We had a nice family vacation. The staff went above and beyond, especially when I had a small medical emergency. The manager called urgent care ahead of time, and they were expecting me. She then continued to follow-up to make sure I was fine.
I really appreciated her kindness.
The room was clean, and the AC worked well.
We stayed for 3 nights.
We enjoyed the clean pool which they kept open until 9pm.
Overall excellent vacation, and I wouldn't hesitate to come back again next year.

To flush the toilet you had to hold the lever down about 1/2 a minute until everything went down.

The TV only had 6 channels none of which were kid friendly. Plus one channel was sports and 1 news which left only 4 channels.

Someone needs to wipe down the chairs in the morning so you can sit and relax while having your coffee.

We had to get a new room the first day because our ceiling sprung a leak - like a massive flood in the bathroom. There were families smoking hookah outside next to the pool at all hours. Tons of people parked in the spots without tags meaning multiple times we didn’t have parking at the hotel but the office was already closed and there was no way to contact anyone. 100% will not return and will tell everyone not to visit Tangiers

It was close to everything. Needed a comforter on the bed, not just two sheets, beds were not very comfortable, need heavy dark curtains in the room, very bright in the middle of the night due to bright lights. Very safe and quiet though. Pool was nice.

For a motel it was doable for my 2 night stay. I selected based on location to beach and proximity to Convention center. I really like the cafe and dinner attached to the motel. Service was great.
