This hotel is disgusting and the management is horrendous. The hotel “office” is offsite at a property down the street with no one at the property to assist you if necessary. We were given a key to a room that was dirty and had to wait for it to be cleaned. Even after it was cleaned, there was trash under the beds and dirt on the floors. We were asked to pay $10 in cash for parking which was never disclosed and seemed to be a scam so we refused. The parking lot consists of 3 very tiny parking spots, so not sure where you have to park once those are full. The air conditioning in our room did not work at all leading to a very uncomfortable and sleepless night. When we brought this to the managers attention, we were told we should have contacted her when we noticed the issue, which was 11pm, and she would have had someone come and replace the unit, which would have been ridiculously inconvenient. We requested a refund and she refused and basically criticized us for booking through Expedia, using that as an excuse to not take accountability or offer compensation for any of the issues. The hotel lacks basic amenities, for example, the “ice machine” is a small countertop machine with very little ice for guests at 2 properties. Management is rude and unhelpful. Avoid this property

Room was very clean, tidy. Nice clean smell. We had a MW, full fridge, TV channels were great. I have a 4 because the parking was really bad and usually with checking in we get instructions or here’s what’s available for you but it was like we were sent on our own because we had to check in at a nearby hotel, not the one we stayed in. The first day we parked on the premises I was blocked in and could not get out. I had to walk back to the other hotel to ask for parking resolution. The receptionist was super nice and gave me a spot at the other hotel but I would like to have gotten instructions on parking when I checked in. Not a real inconvenience but a small hassle. All and all though it was a fine stay.

Got there at 3 for check in and didn’t realize I had to go to another hotel a block away. not a big deal until you have to walk back there 3 times because they don’t know where the key is. House keeping was not done cleaning the room till almost 4 pm. I had to wait outside with my 2 kids and wife for a hour. Then we finally get into the room and someone else’s underwear was left under the bed and 2 lighters. Shower pressure was non existent and same with the kitchen sink. All of the dirty sheets were stored under the stairs outside along with extra kitchen wares(cups plates bowls) just sitting in a laundry basket under the outdoor stairs.

There was a housekeeper but she didn’t clean out room during our stay. I went to the front to ask for towels and the lady at the front said she’d text the housekeeper but we didn’t get our towels. The day before else left (6 day stay) we finally tracked down the housekeeper for towels. When you look into the laundry room and housekeepers area, there were PILES of dirty towels and bedding. I noticed later that they covered it with a sheet. The room was so small my son was able to open the fridge while still in bed. On day two some lady opened the door while my son was changing. She was embarrassed and I heard her tell he friend that the lady in the front gave her my room number. On day three the same thing happened but it was a man and I was in bed. I told the lady at the front and she apologized but that man could have been a predator. There’s only three parking spots. The third bolt on the door was broken and there was a door going into the next room that only had a little lock… neighbors had easy access to enter our room. Rio is weird! AND the office is two blocks away! I will never stay here again ! I did not feel safe!

Loved the kitchenette and the walk in shower. Tiled floor felt very safe, room clean. Bed comfy, air conditioner efficient. Parking was rough, especially getting out. Nice view.

when I got into the room, it was easily 85 degrees in there and the floors look like they werent swept in weeks. There was stains on the sheets and a pillow case. I had an issue with a broken door knob, I told the front desk and they said they would notify maintenance, well, that never happened. Id never stay there again.

The room was not cleaned properly, the toilet seat was dirty from the previous guest. The floor was very dirty and the bed linen was not done properly.
Upon entry to the room I was greeted with a strong BLEACH scent which was very unpleasant.

I've stayed in a few hotel rooms and this is my worst experience.

This place was a bad experience from the start. Their check in office is across the street and down the block. The parking is horrible. The room are musty! House keeping doesn’t come at all. The microwave was broken! Going up the stairs at night time there was homeless people sleep underneath.

What we didn't like is having to check in at another motel a block down. Then having to pay for parking. We only were allowed 1 spot which wasn't a problem but it was in back of motel and a very tight driveway to drive down along a fence line. Room was clean and comfortable and close to beach.

Absolutely terrible I wouldn’t recommend this place to a family what so ever. First off, the google picture is misleading the pic they show is someone else’s place. Then you got to walk down the road more to another hotel to check in. Then the staff you can barely understand and they walk you down to your room which is an alley with only 4 parking spots oh and they make you pay for parking. They say your room is supposed to be ready at 3pm just to walk you down and tell you that you need to wait 20mins for it to be cleaned. And they are very scammy.

So check in is terrible. Got to the property looking all over for somwhere to park theres nothing so after driving around for 40 plus minutes on the 4th of july. Finally got somwhere to park!!! Look all over and theres no office. So i call the number whos been calling me all week requesting more money an she goes ohhh you have to go to a different motel to check in. So we drive there. And she gives us the key. So fast forward to night time we are looking for ice. I walk down to the other motel theres a sign on the door to call someone so i call and she says oh ill deliver some to you. This is at 11pm 12am comes an goes so i call she says im coming im coming. 1am rolls around i call again she says shes all out of ice so i throw a fit and she brings me ice Finally around 125am like why not just tell me ur not bringing me the ice

Our experience with the Rio was absolutely terrible. We were unable to stay due to illegal actities and a violent situation occurring in the room next us. The yelling was too loud to be tuned out and one individual saying he was fine with going back to jail. This was not a safe environment for anyone let alone with two young children who were frightened.
We tried to work with management for a solution and they offered a take it or leave stance with only a partial refund, but proceeded to charge the full amount anyway.

Problems with room

The safety latch on the outside door was broken. The outside door knob was loose. There was no phone, and the motel office was on the next block in a different motel - so if you had a problem and no cell phone, you had to run to the next block and hope someone was there to help. There were holes in the bed sheet. There were no wash cloths. There was no lamp on the nightstand by the bed. The walls are thin- you could hear people in the next room. I spoke to the person in the office when checking out - she basically didn’t get it - asked if I had any problems. If she wants good reviews and return customers, they need to address the problems.

Paper thin walls, absolutely no TV channels, bath towels that leave a trail of fuzz on your body, no coffee maker as advertised, and no staff available for over an hour when trying to check out. Find another place to stay.

When we got there to check in no one was in office. When we called we were told that the place we booked was under construction so we had to drive up the block to monaco motel. None of this was under the listing. When we got there there was a problem with the reader and i had to send them a picture of my id. Staff was very nice no attitude or anything from them however, when we got in our room and went into the bathroom we found that our window had a broken screen and was open. Someone could’ve peeked in but we were lucky enough to not have that problem. The spot in the wall where the air conditioner was had a space between the two as well as the what i assume used to be a window above the room door. On their website the office is said to be open 24 hours and that there was a free ice machine and room service. No one was there in the morning, the ice machine was broken, and within our 2 day stay our trash was over filled. The stay wasn’t horrible and the beds were spacious and comfortable. good amount of space. Terrible microwave. All and all not the best but not the worst and it wasn’t dirty.

The room itself was very clean and updated although there wasn’t a full kitchenette like in the photos. It had a full size refrigerator with a microwave on top and a little table. It was fine for my purposes but the pictures and description led me to believe it would be a real kitchenette. But I loved the shower and the renovated feel to the whole room. Parking was tight and really only three spots in the back. Luckily it was off season so only three guests were there!

Good location, condition could have been better

The hotel was ok. It was nice that it was a suite with a kitchen and very convenient location. The manager at the front desk was very friendly and helpful - he filled my cooler with ice for me from another location and helped us with parking so we could enjoy the boardwalk. However, the condition of the place was a bit run down and the kitchen was not the cleanest. There weren’t any sponges, brushes or paper towels to clean the dishes which we would have expected.

C'est notre première fois au Rio et nous avons apprécié, Nous avons eu un problème avec la chambre et le staff à rapidement résolu le problème, Les lits sont confortable, Les rideaux sont neuf ( ne laisse pas la lumière extérieur entrer à l'intérieur) et la salle de bain est bien aussi.Le frigo a été très apprécié. Si nous retournons à Wildwood nous y retournerons c'est garantis.
Seul point négatif, le quartier est bruyant le soir ( mais hors de contrôle du Motel)

Property was unkept outside. Dirty Laundry piled up outside on the ground for days. Mismatched furniture, ripped box springs. One burner worked and it caught fire when used. Dirty microwave and dusty and gross coffee maker with very old mildewy coffee pod in it. The People were very nice though and they will help with whatever you need. We left the next morning.

We stayed for 4 nights and were fairly ambivalent about our stay. The location was fantastic and the room was fairly updated. The air conditioning worked fine and we were also provided with a fan in room upon arrival, which was appreciated. The fridge and microwave were very clean as well. Here ends the positive aspects of our stay.

Although the maid had just cleaned our room before our arrival, the tiled floor was still covered with a thin blanket of sand, which was gross. The sheets on the second bed had a cigarette burn hole, and most of the surfaces in the room were stained or drawn on. The shower handle was also incredibly hard to turn and it was difficult to get warm water. We ended up showering in our family’s condo instead.

The most shocking portion of our stay was watching the maid finish cleaning the other recently vacated rooms. Once all the sheets and towels were removed from the rooms, they were left outside under the stairwell during the entire duration of our four day stay. This meant they were soaked with rain and exposed to the elements outside. We tried not to dwell too much on this, otherwise it would have been impossible to sleep in the bed knowing how the sheets were maintained at this motel.

We don’t think we will return to this motel again.

Great location near the boardwalk. Clean room with everything you need. The only negative was the parking situation. There are five rooms and five parking spots; three of which are at the end of a very narrow lane and in a tight lot, the other two are parallel parking against the building. It wasn't easy to park and some vehicles would be too big to fit there.
