This was our 8th time at the Shalimar. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and met all our needs. The pool was well maintained and parking was always available. They have a small arcade, five hole golf, cornhole and a ping pong table. Learned today they have a fitness room! There's something for everyone. We're going back in a few weeks! Highly recommend.

This place was awesome!!! Very clean room, two pools, coffee, small game room…
Staff was amazing .. I’d like to mention two of their amazing staff housekeepers.. Keroy and Sandra .. it was a mom and her son who came and cleaned up my room one of the days I was staying … I was getting ready for work when they were getting ready to clean up my room, they asked if I wanted them to come back, but I said I didn’t mind if they wanted to come now and I invited them in and told them they could tidy up the room if they wanted .. asked if they would mind gathering up the towels and if they wouldn’t mind sweeping up the floor… the young man was very friendly and very sociable, and I got the chat with him. He not only swept the floor once but twice because of all the beach sand me and my other friends had brought in to the room and he also like gave it a quick mop, and gave us extra towels for the room.

Good property to stay for a couple of nights. Lot's of parking available; only a couple of blocks from the beach. Pool was not open yet (too cold) and they have a small 4-5 hole mini golf course in front of the office. Small view of the ocean from the balcony. Room was adequate, but could use some updating.

The property is fine, though very dated. The problem was that the staff quits work at 5 PM, so if you arrive later than that there is no one to give you a key or get you on the internet. Luckily we arrived at 3 and got to talk to a staff member, but if we had arrived much later--as we originally planned--we would have been out of luck. Also, we found that almost all the restaurants were closed in early october. We spent an hour looking for somewhere to eat. I am sure it is different in summer, but beware in the fall!

We enjoyed our five night stay. Room was clean and comfortable, though could use some upgrades. The room with the kitchenette has a tiny bathroom - so small that when you open the door, it hits the toilet. If you have small children, be advised that there is no extra latch from the inside. Also, the pool fence does latch but when people come and go, they often leave it unlatched. Just something to be aware of if you have a toddler. All in all, the stay was good and staff was kind and courteous.

Nice but noisy

The hotel was nice but very busy and bit loud during the day and evening. Our door stuck which was annoying. The beds were comfy and the room was big. We were on the first floor right by the pool which had a lot of people walking by which causes the noise but that would be expected.

First time staying and it was a decent stay. A mix of an old bathroom and new furniture in the room we booked, but that was expected. The beds were very comfortable and we actually slept very well. Wish the blinds on the front window were a bit thicker as it let some unwanted light in when morning arrived. Plenty of towels for everyone and the body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were fantastic.

One concern I had, which is such a regular theme with Wildwood hotels, is that it could use a deep clean. Like deep clean the HVAC vents that are visible, furniture, walls, etc. Sometimes when I see something that was such an easy item to clean is missed, it brings doubt as to what is actually cleaned and sanitized. And therefore affects whether I stay there again.

2 nights in Wildwood

Rooms where smaller than in the pictures. We booked a room for 6 people and the double queen room was tight and the pull out couch was not comfortable. We needed to request extra pillows for the bed. The blinds didn't close completely, and the lady and the front desk came right up to fix them. The staff at the front desk were very nice and accommodating. Location is great, less than 2 blocks from the ocean.

Clean rooms, clean pool. friendly staff, feel safe on this resort. The only thing is the parking, but that's not their fault because you have a sport receved, just nobody parks in between the lines:))))
15min walk to the start of the boardwalk

Our room was GREAT. It was clean, had a full size fridge and a microwave. The beds were comfortable enough, with different pillow options. The beach is walkable & the boardwalk is reachable via the Jitney ($3.00pp each way). We spent the whole day in the pool for several days. 10/10 - would recommend.

This is a nice place to stay that doesn’t cost too much. Room was very clean and spacious. Having the extra sink outside the bathroom is a plus when 2 people are trying to get ready. Towels are small and thin but we had plenty. Bathroom is very outdated but clean.
One parking spot per car and spots are very narrow. Plenty of street parking though. Great location. Front desk staff very friendly.

Probably the nicest hotel I've stayed at in the Crest so far. Zero complaints. Will stay there next year for the Car Show again.

The overwhelming smell of the cleaning solution used made it almost unbearable to stay even after airing out the place. The room was clean except for the couch which was so old and dirty that we put down towels before sitting down. The staff were very friendly.

Good location for those who want to travel to the Wildwood Boardwalk, and close enough to Cape May.
I had a few recommendations, which I told the front desk about. They use a very strong sweet, obnoxious smelling deodorizer or cleanser that those of us with allergies or asthma find irritating. And, they could use some safety strips in the showers, and she said they are working on that.
Very nice heated pool, and outside bar-b-que area, little mini-golf, arcade room, and corn hole all available.

We always stay at the Shalimar. Rooms are updated and very clean. The beach is wonderful in the Crest. The Shalimar is walkable to the boardwalk yet far enough away that it is quiet and relaxing. Great parking too, you do not have to worry that your car will get dinged.

Would have been a better rating but we mentionned twice that our daugther that was sleeping on the sofa got bitten multiple time. The cleanness of the sofa bed was also hawfull, the sheet were stained. Cleaning staff was also not friendly and very rude so we stopped asking for it. End result we had to leave our clothes and luggages outside and wash it very hot. Staff said twice dont worry the manager will call you and obviously no calls. Very disapointed in terms of experience.

Had an issue with a credit card account that I closed and my deposit was paid with that card so it could not be presented at check in. They made a big deal but they were paid 6 months before check in and we had the emails. I understand protocol but I had proof of payment. This put a bad taste in my mouth. People were playing corn hole outside my door way past 10pm and it was pretty annoying and nobody said anything about it. Pool area should randomly be cleaned because people can be pigs and there was food and trash on the ground.

When your only choice is independent hotels this is a nice place to stay. Parking spots are extremely tight and difficult to get in and out of car. Place is clean and serves it's purpose with easy access to the beach.

Great time staying at the hotel. From the cleanliness to the walkable distance to the beach and restaurants, grills to cook on- we enjoyed our time. Good luck parking your car and getting out of your vehicle in the very tight parking spaces on their lot.

Me and my family enjoyed the Shalimar , it was easy check in and out. The room was very nice and the view was great , the walk to the beach was easy. Everyone was nice that worked at the property. I like the pool , very clean , also had a diving board which people really seemed to enjoy. The mini golf was cute , the \"game room\" was ok not much but ok. If there were some downfalls it would be the shower water temp was just warm, not much of a hot shower , and towels could use some updating. But the overall room was clean and housekeeping was good. Had fresh towels everyday except one day but had pleanty left from previous day.
I would say this is a great place to stay you wont be disappointed , we stayed all week.

Ok for 1 night

I would not agree with the reviews that say this place was excellent. It worked for a last minute 1 night trip. Wouldn't want to stay longer than that. Was definitely overpriced for what we got. Staff was wonderful.
