Stay at your own risk. I was left in the cold because my lock wouldnt work and when I went to a new room is not fully clean and someone tried to break in. See a larger hotel at a different location.

I was stay in room 20 in the basement area, unfortunately the noise of the water being drawn into the heating system was every 60 sec. Which made my first night not a good one until I got done ear plugs. There’s no way I could stay in this room longer than 2 nights. The property was otherwise good and in a great location for me.

Customer services was excellent, despite being completely virtual. Only issue was the sofa bed - it wasn’t cleaned. When we opened it up there were crumbs and food in between the cushions and in the sofa bed. Everything else was spotless. Just sad as we needed the extra bed lol. Either way, great location and overall nice place.

Room was nicely appointed, comfortable bed super warm blanket that I loved! The bathroom was small but functional and had nice touches like shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispensers in the shower and a makeup specific washcloth. Roku built into TVs and comfy sofa and sharing the living area. Really good experience at this price point!

Parking was easy; no staff on site and online checking was definitely not immediate nor seamless. Room clean but extremely cold. Extra blankets had to be fetched from an outside storage closet, which wasn’t appealing in the middle of an extremely cold night. Only mirror was on the bathroom vanity.

Check in process is set up for the convenience of the hotel! Not it’s customers! Consistently marketed by emailto upgrade our room while not answering a simple phone call. No window darkening shades (as I need them to sleep). At 8:01pm received an email welcoming to the property and any comments and concerns can be addressed between the hours of 9 am and 8 pm. Amazingly ironic the email came in 8:01pm(did you catch that), This property is all about no personal contact! Although, that might be fine for some. We can’t recommend this place!!!

We had miscommunication about the self check-in process; Beverly asked for email and didn't send any email. Room was very clean, but old fixtures in bathroom had a smell. Our ceilings were thin; we constantly heard upstairs neighbor. TV was so dark even on brightest setting it was unwatchable

Thisnis a receptionless hotel. Rose who i spoke to on the phone was amazing and managed to sort out an issue btwn hotel.com and expedia for my email address. The hotel was nice. The room was clean, the bed was a little hard. I couldnt hear any of the other guests which was a bonus and the air con worked a treat. But you cant close the curtains as they are screwed in place.

Great in between location if your visiting multiple spots in the New England area, we visited Salem and also Boston the train station is right across the street. It’s very easy to get around. The room was nice semi quiet, convenient location to a few different restaurants in a couple of coffee shops and then also the grocery store if you need to get food or other supplies.

With no human on-site check in was challenging. Walked into suite and it overwhelmingly smelled like cat pee. Again no one on-site to manage. Had to call and wait for a person to be sent over to be able to do nothing. Wanted another room but completely booked. Would have left, but in the area for a wedding and already knew there was no where with availability. Offered cleaning spray used by housekeeping to try to quell the smell. This is a road-side motel that charges a price point that would suggest it's a higher quality. Windows didn't work properly, cigarette burns in the bathroom countertop, the door look liked it had been kicked in and repaired but never painted.

Our stay was such a pleasant experience. My friend and I came to visit Salem. The hotel was a little less expensive, and it suited our needs perfectly. Since there is no reception, everything is conducted online. Once we had the room code, checking in was simple. The room was really nice. We stayed in one of the basement apartments. It was clean and had everything we needed. There was a sheet of paper with instructions for anything you might need, supply closet, laundry, contact information etc. There's a train station right across the street from the hotel (as well as restaurant, grocery store, and liquor store). The train comes about once an hour everyday so it was easy for us to come and go as we needed.

There is no front desk onsite, virtual assistant sometimes tries to be helpful… the cleaning staff are variable sometimes they do not bother a visit. Overall decent rooms, TV roku setup, great bathrooms, kitchen mostly stocked (oven was not cleaned however), the location is spot on downtown Wenham. Very convenient with nearby restaurants, pizza and famous roast beef!

There was mold around the edges of the bathtub. Water was visibly yellow in the bathtub and not drinkable without a filter. This was a self-serve motel and “hotel” in name only. If you needed something like toilet paper, you had to go to a self-serve locker and get it yourself. WiFi was spotty and weak. Management was only reachable by text. Several doors were chipped on the bottom and one had broken off pieces underneath. I only posted these comments a week after giving management time to reply to my concerns and was told twice that I would be hearing back soon. It is hard to justify the per night cost for the condition of our room.

We paid $50 extra for a 3rd person...the sofa \"bed\" mattress was a 4 inch camp mattress over a steel frame. Only a bottom sheet...no top sheet, no blanket. There is NO STAFF here. We called and were sent a code for the supply closet, which had no blankets. We called back and they said they could get us a blanket tomorrow. We drove to Target and purchased a comforter.
And the BLACK MOLD in the SHOWER! Fresh and fuzzy and very visible. No one even checked if it was clean. We did not shower.
There was a couple arguing outside at 9:00. Loud. Then they moved inside-upstairs from us, where they stomped around, yelled and cursed for at least 2 hours. At 11:00 we all put in ear plugs so we could sleep.
I texted all of this to the hotel the following day, photos. No response, so I am posting an unedited review. I wish I could provide the photos.

Large room. Nice bed. Felt a bit odd down in the basement area. Would not recommend for those who may trip easily on small walk down from stairs.
No one there to check in. Gave us the wrong code for door. Luckily housekeeping was nearby and although she said “ No hablo inglés”, she was able to give us the right code to get into the room.
Pictures look more like a B&B style, but in person it’s like a row motel that’s been renovated.

The host was helpful. However when room was allotted , it was being used by house keeping staff. The staff looks shady. Host was generous enough to upgrade the room. However the room initial looks ok but the remote for TV was missing and later I saw the fire alarm from roof was hanging. Although room was clean and comfortable.

Check out time was 11 am but house keeping staff without prior notice barged inside the room at 10.15 am and only I shouted from bathroom , she left the room.

The room itself was nice, and the tub was amazing. There were two issues. The first is security, we were in the basement and there are two doors to go into the hallway however, there are no locks on that door, and more importantly, there is no chain or stopper on the inside of the door. The second, there is no peephole. Also, at 12 every night the keypad made noise like someone was there. These are fairly inexpensive issues and so it makes me wonder what else was looked over in favor of cost.

The bottom landing was scary because you couldn’t see that it had a step down. They need to color it so you can see it.

Room was clean and comfortable. An issue with burned out light bulbs was dealt with quickly. The entrance to the lower rooms is a disgrace. Dirty and potentially dangerous. But the thing that was most disconcerting was how difficult..how many on line hoops you have to jump through just to book the room. And not just once...say to establish a profile...but every time. Not sure it is worth the hassle.

This was a first for me. They give you your room code through a welcome email. Id never done that and had trouble with it. To add insult to injury, when i arrived there was no one in the front office either. Once i managed to get someone on teh phone they were very helpful and we managed to figure it out. It's just something to be aware of going in.

Most Disappointing Hotel Stay Ever

The hotel was cute, but the WiFi wasn't good enough to allow Internet access, there weren't any towel racks, and the \"do not disturb\" sign hung on the door didn't stop housekeeping from entering unannounced the next morning. The check-in process was a joke. It is self-check-in, and we waited in the parking lot 45 minutes for an email with the room instructions after filling out the check-in form online. Now we find out that the $100 held for incidentals was fully charged to the credit card and takes 7-10 business days to be refunded. I will never stay there again.

Not be be harsh. but being truthful… this place was sketchy. The neighboring building looked to be a run down multi-family with an old kitchen range discarded in the shared parking lot. We were assigned a room in the BASEMENT of the building. The room had a musty/mildly odor that they attempted to masked with air freshener. Awful! The outdoor stairway leading to the basement are narrow and steep, covered with frayed carpeting. My advice?… stay somewhere else!

We liked our Stay at the Beverly. Mary was a great help to get our Room number and code for the room. Kudos to her.
We were in the basement which we didn’t like because the steps were treacherous. Tub was very slippery due to hidden soap build up. An accident waiting to happen.
Loved the coffee maker, and the convenience to our son’s house. We would come back.

Eh…

Definitely avoid the basement rooms because the sound from literally anyone walking or moving above you was so loud, especially early in the morning.
The staff was happy to accommodate us with a different room, but was just a little chaotic because there was such a short window to move rooms while bust getting ready for a wedding.
The new room didn’t have hot water, but by that point, we didn’t have time to move again, nor did I want to deal with it anymore.
WiFi was difficult and didn’t have 5g - almost couldn’t order an Uber to get to the wedding on time :(
Overall, staff was nice but the hotel room experience was poor and frustrating.

I was a little upset that they let me in the room only to find out my payment wasnt excepted.HOWEVER - they were extremely patient and allowed me to stay in the room until figured payment out. This is the type of place that gets the job done, and well for the price. I needed a place to sleep while visiting family in Beverly. No frills, no human interaction, your own little kitchen, laundry on site, parking lot, very conveniently located. I did have an issue with the a/c unit blowing right on me in the bed, so I turned it off. Not sure how that would be in the summer. I would definitely stay here again if the price is good. I would stay anywhere to avoid staying with my family though. ;)

This was the most difficult check in I have experienced. It was a self check in, and I never received an email to do the prep work. It took a while to reach someone on the phone who tried to help me, but the technology was not working even though I did everything correctly. There was no elevator for the basement room and a lip that was difficjlt to see, but easy to trip on. This place was brutal for check in and check out so we will not return.

Very disappointed.Your floors were absolutely filthy and disgusting, the nasty rug you had on the floor was curled up on the corner and I almost tripped on it multiple times. We would have rotated it if the floor underneath wasn't covered in dirt and debris. Floor along wall near TV and couch was covered in black grime. Odd smell in the basement. I suppose I'd should have bid on a better room when you offered me that earlier this week.
