The front desk staff are very nice. They work hard and are polite and professional. The housekeeping staff are efficient and deserve great accolades as the hotel is bright and spotlessly clean. It has been a real pleasure being a client of the Hammett Hotel. I read the book about the construction of the Hotel and it really is and amazing engineering phenomenally thought out and built building. It is really nice that in a town as historic as this that people are respecting the culture of the town.

The hotel is beautiful and perfectly located. Staff is great. Lobby has games, gym is tiny but has a nice view and was fun to use. Some things to note: There is no bar or restaurant actually attached the hotel so no food options. Guisto is next door but not a part of the hotel and opens at 4 or 5pm. Also no coffee or mini bar in the room.

I was very disappointed to say the least! I paid close to $1000 for 1 night (including parking)!! I expected luxury, however, I got a small room with a view. No mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, or water!! The bathroom door did not stay closed, so no privacy either! I have stayed in Newport MANY times!! This was by far my worst experience, as it pertains to the hotel room, and lack of amenities! If you’re going to charge luxury prices, please follow through!

Nice, modern hotel in a great location. The lobby is beautiful but spent zero time there. The staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable. The downsides were small room, no closet (just a clothes rack), no refrigerator, no desk, no notepad and pen. I guess I'm just comparing it to your \"typical\" hotel room and except for the refrigerator, I didn't really miss the other things. For the money paid I assumed a larger room with these typical amenities. The front desk brought up a small cube refrigerator when we asked. Not sure that I would stay again since there are other options in this price range. They also charge $50 per day for valet parking which I was not aware of. I suppose I could have parked myself somewhere but who wants to do that on vacation?
