Terrific, newer hotel in the downtown Newport area. Beautiful lobby and spacious rooms with an easy walk tomeverything Newport has to offer. Very friendly front desk and valet staff. I loved the refillable water station and pantry on each floor with ice and ice cream. I would call the style of the room and hotel as upscale coastal. Beautifully decorated and appointed. The bathrooms lack a little bit of privacy with the glass doors but it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience. The location is perfect with lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel to others.

Fabulous hotel all around. The decor, ambiance, service, location and food are all wonderful! We definitely plan on staying here again. If I were being nitpicky, I would say that they need to add fans to the bathrooms, because you can hear everything in the bathroom from the hotel room ( unless there was a fan and I just didn't see the switch for it, but I don't think so). But honestly, it's just a fabulous place to stay, I highly recommend it!

Well appointed, clean hotel. Built 5 years ago. Great location and they have bikes available which was extremely nice to use. The living room area of the hotel is cozy and the food and staff are great. Chocolate chip cookies left on your bed every night! In my opinion, the nicest place to stay in Newport because the old Inns, the marriott and Gurneys are all musky.

The Brenton hotel is a really good hotel and has the potential to be great. Simple things like free coffee or tea in the morning, would add that extra touch of caring and hospitality for the traveler. The staff is friendly, but often preoccupied with their own internal cliques or the party-like atmosphere of some guests. The rooms are well appointed, although the TV did not function well. This is an important issue since the TV controls your access to amenities like room service and webcasting. The food is good with several options. There is no formal restaurant yet the sitting area serves as a lounge and eating space. The parking attendants were excellent. The free ice cream and bottled water were a nice touch. The Location is ideal for catching water ferries and walking around town. Very good to great.

We had the most fabulous stay at The Brenton in March 2025 for Spring Break. It was cold(50’s), but wonderful! It was four adults and we ate, shopped and did all the mansion tours. The hotel staff really went above and beyond. The maids and valet did a an amazing job as well. Anything we asked for, we were given right away. Johnny, Dean and another wonderful valet (his name escapes me) drove us around the area to local places and never complained. We ubered to and from the mansions but they would have taken us if we had asked. There was a $2 trolley that could take you around, but came every 90 minutes and it was raining one day, so we opted for Uber. The hotel was located on the water with a view of lots of boats. We didn’t get to see the hotel bar on the rooftop because it opens later in spring, but we heard it’s amazing. Get a water view if you can for your room. We didn’t and we wished we had. The hotel had a great breakfast that we had one day. Highly recommend the avocado toast! Finally, little freebies like free drink mixers, cookies during turndown service and Bulgari soaps were amazing!

Staff was really attentive and helpful, we needed a lint roller and they brought up to the room within 5 minutes. we also had a hard time with the heat in the shower at first and they came up immediately, helped up and allowed us to have extended check out due to the situation.
