The check in process was fast and easy. Some constructive criticism follows. When I was handed my key cards, a layout of the hotel rooms with my room number circled could have been included. I found out that the room numbers aren't in numerical order, and the numbers themselves need to be much larger. Inside the room, a card containing the local hotel telephone number and the wifi name and password on the nightstand would be a plus. The hotel is hard to find because the sign is far from the street, so using navigation is strongly suggested. I went without cable TV for the first day because of a quirky cable box, and had no wifi until one of the room attendants helped me out. Other than those concerns, everything else about the room was great.

It is well documented in the reviews this is an inexpensive motel with tired furniture and no internet service. My 2 night stay was just fine. The room was very clean and all staff interactions were super friendly. Lobby opens around 10a and I would not try to check in after 9P.

The first person to check us in was very nice. We were surprised at how dirty our room was- the floors were swept but filthy (turned my son's socks black on the bottom). We did not have enough towels and they would not bring any to us (or even meet me at the office) until a time after we had showered the next morning- so my son had to use a shirt to dry off. The beds were ancient- with one tiny old pillow per person, and springs that you could feel at every turn. We were in town for the jazz fest and dreaded coming back each night. I do not recommend to anyone!

This is a no-frills motel and we were only there for one night, so it served it's purpose. My one complaint is that there was not a coffee pot in the room. There was coffee served in the lobby but the lobby didn't open until 10 a.m. This was very frustrating. On the positive side, I had asked if I could get a room with a tiny freezer in the fridge (for cold packs for cooler). Our room had a dorm fridge with a small freezer above it! This was more than I expected. Also, the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly.

If you need a cheapish place to stay around the area then this is fine but not worth the price. Only have the bare minimum and during the entire day and night, it smelled like poop outside. As if they were cleaning out the septic or something

Place is located well near the Naval War College and also Newport area. It is an older location and was ok with older type air conditioner. Shower was a bit slow and strong pressure. So a bit pricey for what you get. Fairly clean but just old property that could use an overhaul.

We had two different stays a few days apart, 1st stay the beds were like rocks! and a couple was fighting so bad they sounded like they were coming through the wall at 11:30 at night. The woman was screaming for help at the top of her lungs. We were waiting for fun shots or cops, when it was mentioned to the management, their response was why didn’t you call the cops? Ummmm NO phone in the room and WIFI and internet SUCKED!!!!! Her response well it’s over now and there’s nothing we can do but move past it. The second stay was great, beds were comfy, but the ice machine was broken….it was much quieter and we enjoyed it. Why twice you ask, they didn’t have a room available Fri or Sat and we were there till Tuesday morning working the US Open!

The entire experience was kind of meh. Checking in I wanted to change my reservation to stay one less night and the clerk said that that was not possible. So, I paid for it and did not stay for one extra night. I was promised daily maid service which did not happen. Granted this is a budget motel, but even then, I would expect friendlier service and a better experience. Next time in town, I will look for other accomodations.

They did not service the room for the 4 days we were there. No clean towels. No emptying trash. There was no weather stripping on the door and bugs came in. The WiFi NEVER worked the entire time we were there. Went to office 5 different tines and nobody was on staff. Note said to call front desk from room phone.. no room phone! We stayed in Newport 1 night. The location was perfect, we felt very safe. The room itself was O.k. bed was comfy. The room was clean enough--if you move furniture to access outlets you'll see it's not deep cleaned. Floor felt like they swiffered it instead of a good vaccum and mop.

The hotel was perfect for what we needed it for. We were only in Newport for one night for a family wedding. We really only needed a place to dress for the wedding and sleep for the night. This hotel was clean quiet and it seemed to be have been updated pretty recently. The lady at the front desk was friendly and kind and we immediately knew we had made the right decision with this hotel.

Staff was nice, but the room was terrible. Beds were lumpy, the place smelled like urine, and not sure if any of my towels and rags were clean. The “Bates Motel” as we referred to this pit immediately was dirty, had springs sticking out of mattresses, had cigarette burns on the sink, had a constantly dripping shower, a bathroom door that didn’t lock, and stains on the comforter. It was gross. The staff however were very friendly.

Even though the reviews said the property was dated, we were looking for just a clean room to sleep in so we did not have to drive back to our home state after a wedding. Upon checking in we noticed that it was not only dated, but also not maintained. I’d say the worst thing of all was that it looked like the sheets had not been changed….The pillow cases were all wrinkled, and one of them had a black (possibly mascara mark) on it. Also, we paid a lot for this room. Lastly, I tried calling management twice and both times no one was available to speak to me. I left a message for the first time and within a number of days did not get a callback. This is an honest review. I was almost considering sleeping in my car as opposed to sleeping in those sheets.

While the clerk at the desk could not have been nicer, the room itself was awful. While the sheets and towels were clean, the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. The shower was filthy and there was a dirty washcloth left behind. The refrigerator was also rusty.

The sink plug did not work. It stayed closed and the latch was broken so I had to pick it out with my fingernails. Not very sanitary.
The bottom of the inner shower curtain also had pink mildew on it.
There wasn't a hot water brewer for coffee or tea in the room which is standard in every other inn I've stayed in.
I'm glad I brought slippers and lysol spray to walk around and touch handles and light switches.

For the price it was ok. Nothing fancy. Appeared very clean. Maid did not come in every day as desk said they would. I had to go to desk to request clean towels. It was in a convenient location for the price. Good for seniors. No steps. Pull right up to door. Don’t expect any frills.
