The tv didn’t work. The phone didn’t have buttons. Housekeeping never came. Our room was ll the way on the other side of the hotel and they had nothing to carry the luggage on.

This is a three star hotel that should be a best, a two star. On the surface it seems to have all the bells and whistles, however the general feel is that is is old and tired, and needs a really good scrub. Carpets that have seen better days, dust on air vents.
The breakfast amenity is overpriced (pay per item( pre packaged gas station type food like breakfast sandwiches, juices and yogurt, seems not very popular with guests.
Pros, the area we had our room was very quiet.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sonesta Select in Middletown. Everyone was very helpful and friendly, rooms were clean and comfortable. Nice to have breakfast at the lounge.

It was bare minimum place to stay. Loud and noisy people walking down the hallway at all hours. The hotel charged me an additional charge for a pet fee. Never said a pet was staying, nor was a pet there so double check what they charge you

It was just an 'okay' hotel. The day we reached, an elevator was not working. The carpets in the lobby and room were very old and dusty. On the first day, toileteries did not have shower gel. Breakfast was average. During my entire stay, they did not have the tea bags.

Room was clean and nice enough. However, all of the fitness room equipment was out of order. Cable on TV didn’t work for first two days. Hotel policy is to not do daily room cleaning and needs to be specifically requested. Was not aware of that when booking. Overall hotel could use some updating like new hallways carpeting or other aesthetics etc.

The room was clean, except for a couple of dirty spots behind the bathroom door that I noticed the night before checking out. The bed was VERY FIRM, if that's your thing, you'll be happy, but my back is a bit sore today. The hotel itself, looked great from the pictures, but it's clearly in need of some TLC. It felt a bit neglected in some areas, which made us a bit sad because this hotel has the potential to be very nice.

There were loose pebbles all over the indoor/outdoor pool deck, the whirlpool doesn't bubble aggressively, which is fine I guess, but it needs a bit more power than it currently is, especially if they're going to feature hard mattresses.

I prepaid $37 for the breakfast. Don't bother, unless you have a room full of people that will benefit from it. The breakfast is otherwise a la carte with microwaveable breakfast sandwiches priced around $3.50. They have waffles, bagels, English Muffins which can all go in the toaster as well. Cereal, Bottled Juices and coffee are all pretty cheap too. So, needless to say, I lost a few bucks by prepaying here. There's a great diner literally 3 minutes up the street, that would be my recommendation.

They don't do daily house keeping either, but will try to accommodate special requests. For us, it was a short 2 night stay so it's not that big a deal, but any longer, and it might be a problem.

The staff were all friendly but somewhat hard to find at times, We began to wonder if this is a corporate call?

When I read the reviews of this hotel, unfortunately there were those who wrote that it was dirty or the hotel was old. But I want to say that this is not the case, on the contrary, I was pleasantly surprised how clean and cozy the hotel and rooms were. And the staff is also friendly.

I told my husband that we should definitely visit this hotel again.

Great hotel. Spacious room and bathroom. Good for families. Indoor and outdoor pool. Several restaurants nearby. Plenty of parking.

This is not in Newport proper but 12-15 minutes away.

Highly recommend for families needing a little more space and budget friendly.

We checked into our room. I noticed at the sink there was only one hand towel and no wash cloths. I proceeded to wash my face and the sink filled with water and did not drain. I went to call the front desk, the were no buttons on the phone and the phone was not even plugged into the wall. I went to the front desk they put us in a different room. The television didn't work. I went to the front desk to inform them. The lady said it wasn't working because of the bad weather. However, I informed her that the TV's in the lobby were working and my brother in law's TV was working in his room. She shrugged her shoulders. Later my husband went to the front desk to tell them our TV wasn't working and they said they'd have someone look at it while we were gone for the day. We left around 11am and returned at 8pm. The TV still didn't work. My husband called the front desk, they said they were going to reset it and check it in 15 minutes; still didn't work. There was no attempt to try and help us. For $250/night you would think you'd get a working television.

Great staff, hotel was beautiful and extremely clean! The rooms were spacious and very clean! Breakfast had a good variety to choose from. There is a pool and hot tub which was nice to be able to go relax after a busy day. I would definitely go back if I’m in the area and recommend to friends.

Front desk staff was great , manager / leadership was AWFUL. There were no towels at the front desk over the Easter holiday weekend. The desk agent was kind and apologized many times. The hot tub and pool area were good and clean the first night but the second night the area was a mess with towels thrown all around and no clean towels to use.

Not having clean linens available for a multi night stay is a problem. Do better !

Check in area was beautiful, decent parking. Safe location. Rooms need renovations , orange staining all over curtains and wall. Very strange. Sheets and bathroom was clean thankfully.

Would not stay again and would not recommend because the lack of clean towels leading to an inability to shower on a holiday weekend!

This would be my only complaint. They do not have a continental breakfast. Everything is an individual purchase for breakfast and very expensive. I don’t think anyone ever buys it because there’s nothing set up in the morning. They should offer coffee and simple items included with the room it almost makes me want to book with Hampton Inn, but I really like the building and the staff.

Charged for coffee…they shouldn’t since it’s not even good tasted “burnt”. The hot tub area was nice (no jets tho!) with a clear glass ceiling minus the dead dragonfly that was probably there for months. It was a nice morning spot to have coffee. Rooms eh. Only give 2 towels. No room service. Nothing great or bad but worth the cheaper price if you’re on a budget. Plus is they have a tiny fridge if needed and bed was comfy.

The staff was very friendly. The room was okay, until the cushion moved on the pull out couch and I saw a used crack pipe. It was tucked on top of the mattress near the springs. A lot of food crumbs on top of the folded mattress. I was happy we didn’t need the extra bed. I told the lady at the front desk and sent her the photos. I waited over a month for sometime to connect with me about the issue, no one ever reached out.

I was asked to pay $29 for a “ continental” breakfast for 2. Thinking it was going to be a great breakfast…. When I went to get breakfast, the breakfast sandwiches were the size of silver dollars, nothing fresh. Cups of cereal. When I asked the front desk how it worked, since I paid, they said I was allowed 2 items and a tea or coffee… I took a juice. I did make a bagel, but my pooch enjoyed it more than I did. Husband didn’t even eat anything because he was so disappointed. He only had a juice. Place was great, just not the breakfast.

I discovered a roach in my room during my stay and immediately reported it to the front desk. I was transferred to another room, which I appreciated. However, the incident left me alarmed and unable to rest for the remainder of the night. The disruption impacted the quality of my stay.

When we came down to talk about it with Trey... another aasociate... he assisted us. He helpd us with the balcony room. She camr back and seen us there and asked Trey what happened. He said they were not put in a balcony and she said oh.... no apolgies.

Booked this months ago for an anniversary trip with the impression or hot tub working, when we checked in we were advised it had been broken for over a month. We let it go. That night after coming back from dinner we wanted to relax and watch a movie/show. Tv was not working we called front desk and they said “that happens we can’t do anything”

The bedsheets were dirty, the pool did not look clean it looked greasy and there was scum around it. the Jacuzzi was brocken and there was nothing that said it on the website. the breakfast is not actually breakfast. It was not worth it at all. the rooms look nothing like the website at all. Save your money and go to the marriott in newport instead i regret choosing this one.

Sherri at the front desk was a welcoming and knowledgeable hostesss. She was friendly, helpful, and kind. The facility was decent though undertsaffed for housekeeping. The hot tub was broken and closed. The morning \"breakfast\" offerings were very slim. A muffin and coffee or theblike for $16 for 2 people for 2 days. Starbucks is in thw building and opens later

The staff was awesome! Friendly, warm, and helpful. No matter who was on the desk, they were happy to see everyone as they walked through the door. The room was clean and neat, but I think the bathroom could use a refresh. There were stains on the wallpaper behind the toilet and rust around the tub stopper. Just signs of age, but compared to how nice the rest of the room and the hotel itself were, those things stuck out like sore thumbs.

Hotel and staff were excellent. The suite was clean and comfy. One star taken off as the hot tub was not functional and the pool area was too cold to go in the (heated) pool. Had the hot tub been working, the pool are would have been great,but with no way to take the chill of swimming off, it just wasn’t usable.

The front desk staff was incredibly rude to us. We were waiting in line for 20 minutes when there was only one person in front of us very unorganized.then got put in a room who already had someone booked in there, a huge safety concern already. when asking for a new room after we got double booked I got told I would either be put in a new hotel or that I had to wait with a crazy attitude as if any part of that was my fault. There was no apology if anything she was trying to argue with me. after getting that sorted in the morning, the cleaning staff knocked on her door 30 minutes before our checkout trying to clean our room when it was not our time to leave. also had to kill two spiders.

The property was fine. The room was fine. The big issue that we had with our stay is that the people staying in the room directly next to us was having a big party with multiple people in there, and it eventually broke out into arguments in fights, recalled 3 times throughout the night and did not get any sleep. I know that a fight is not in control of the staff but I feel with the severity of what situation was and us calling multiple times throughout the night in early morning that we should have been accommodated for our stay because it really made it unpleasant

It started off on the wrong foot but Hotel.com helped and things went smoother. In addition, Cindy at the hotel, dreadlocks guy, and Brenda made my stay above my expectations after it started on the wrong foot.

Brenda housekeeper kept everything in order, dreadlocks guy excellent customer service and Cindy kept me from losing my mind … I needed her calm friendly persona to get back on the right track.

Very pleased with my stay with the help of Hotel.com and the above mentioned people.
