The rooms are clean, big and super comfortable. The location is 15-20 minutes from downtown Newport. We went for a labor day wedding and the prices of hotels in Newport were incredibly unaffordable for us, so this was the perfect solution. We got an Uber to get to an evening wedding on the water and everything worked out perfectly.

My bff & I have been staying at this Residence Inn for about 10 yrs & always book a 2 bedrm suite. We come in early Dec. to do Christmas shopping in & around Newport. We used to stay at B&B's but it got to be too expensive. The Res Inn is perfect for us. We each have our own bathroom allowing us to get ready at the same time. We each have our own bedroom which allows us to not disturb each other. The beds & pillows are sooo comfortable. The rooms are clean. & having a kitchen area is a plus. We usually don't cook but make coffee, tea or warm up something & use the refrigerator. The free breakfast is a plus. Parking is easy, right on the property. The only negative is that the 2nd bedroom does not have a full length mirror. I would appreciate having one in that bedroom. We will continue to stay at this Res Inn for as long as we come to Newport for Xmas shopping!

We have stayed at this property before, and it is convenient and a pretty good hotel. However, in comparison with the Residence Inn we just stayed at last month in Washington, DC, this one failed us in a several ways: 1) Breakfast--powered eggs, all breads wrapped in plastic, pre-packaged stuff.... 2) television couldn't hook into our Netflix or Hulu accounts... 3) rollaway came as a folded-in-half bed and was terribly uncomfortable. Staff was kind, and quick to help.

The people in the room above were very noisy right up to 11:00 pm. The room needs new mattress even on the sofa bed. The are not the most comfortable, too soft & sofa bed mattress you can feel every spring in it, could use an extra foam padding

The check in was quick. The room wasn’t ready. We are a family with 3 kids, we didn’t have enough towels. The extra roll over bed I asked for in the reservation wasn’t in the room, we didn’t have any sheets for the sofa bed. In overall it wasn’t ready for our capacity. The sofa bed is very uncomfortable, even for children.

The last day of our trip the water was shut off for about 30 minutes as I was finishing up my shower (not fun). Our toilet had issues as well. Room was very nice though. We would stay here again.

The entrance to the property is on High St., not on W Main Rd as their address suggests. When you turn off W Main Rd there is a sign for the Residence Inn, but it isn't obvious that when you are at the stop sign at the corner of O'Neil Blvd and High St. you should turn right onto High St and then the hotel is on your right. Otherwise, everything about our stay was perfect.

We had a 3 night stay with our young kids. The pool was a big draw as was the 2 bedroom suite style room we booked. Though we enjoyed our stay and found local fun attractions to explore such as save the bay aquarium and goat hiking, the room itself was a bit of a let down. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The room was clean but could use updating, especially all 3 tvs which had difficulty turning on and glitched on and off on every channel. The pool was fun but very very small and sometimes over crowded. We attempted to swim our first night but there were 24 people in the pool area with poorly supervised kids doing backflips into a 4ft deep, crowded pool. This was our third time staying at this hotel. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 you couldn’t enjoy the breakfast in the dining room and the pool was closed which was a huge disappointment to the kids...I understand things operate differently now due to health concerns but it is not a normal experience. Everything was wonderful. One member of our party needed an extended check-out time, and that was graciously granted. My only suggestion is that breakfast might be improved on by using real scrambled eggs, and having waffles or pancakes available rather than having to make one's own. That station was too crowded, and so some folks had to skip it every day. The room, staff, location, and parking were all outstanding.
