We stayed in November, and the heated pool was awesome! You can swim from the inside to the outside and there are hot tubs in both areas. It was a highlight for us! The rooms aren’t the most updated, but they do the trick and were clean. We also had a room with a full kitchen which was really helpful!

Expensive area and this property was very expensive to stay at. We expected more. Huge window AC units taking up space in the rooms, no daily housekeeping (our towels were soaked from daily use after 4 days and from use at the pool), we ran out of washcloths, the pool radio played outside our room until 1am (we had to ask several times for it to be turned off and it was turned back on before 8am), all the ice machines were broken. Our shower leaked all over all bathroom floor. None of our locks in our suite worked. We had no spots to put our suitcases.

Air conditioning problems!
We were not informed at check-in that A/C had been on the blink all week. 85 degrees F in our unit at one point! Knew something was up when we noticed portable a/c units and fans, which were cumbersome with 2 toddlers in the room. Staff admitted ongoing problem “being dealt with” but didn’t offer much relief, besides occasional reboot of system. After multiple complaints, I was reimbursed half the cost of my stay, but still not satisfied.

Hotel overbooked and told me we would have to find a new place to stay upon arrival. After explaining that it is difficult to find a room to accommodate my family of 6 without prior arrangements, the hotel said they had a cancellation and provided us a room. It happened to be in a separate part of the hotel (some sort of apartment or condo area) and it was very old, dirty and the hallway had doors/ceiling tiles that had been busted in. We went back to the office and asked to speak to a manager- but there was no manager on site. After going back and forth for about 20 minutes, they found us a room in the main hotel which was what we were expecting. I’ve never had such a difficult time checking into a hotel ever.

My family of 5 had a reservation (and it was already paid for through Expedia before we arrived!) for July 4th Weekend. When we tried to check in, they told us that they were oversold and an owner took our unit. They would NOT help us find another hotel and gave us a number to call (who tried to put us up at a Motel 6). No sympathy for the 3 young children they had just displaced. Needless to say it was next to impossible to find a new room (2 rooms actually, as we are a family of 5... the entire reason we booked a 2 bedroom suite) in Newport on the 4th of July. They were rude and just awful and I would never attempt to stay at a Wyndham again because apparently they can just cancel your reservation even though you paid for your room.

The resort is excellent with great amenities. However I had a bad experience during check-in. I had booked a 3BR condo for 3 nights in May, all the way back in Jan 2025. Upon checking in, I was told that the 3BR condo is not available and I had to wait 15-20 mins and was provided a 2BR condo. I was also told that I would receive a refund for the differential amount. However after checkout I didn’t receive any refund after multiple follow ups. Thus folks beware about what you are booking and what reservation you will get.

The space was plenty big. It was three bedrooms with a pullout couch in the living room. The table was very awkwardly position so you really couldn't fit six people for eating. We were just using it for sleeping for a graduation. There was plenty of space. It was very conveniently located next to America's Cup Ave.

Nice enough, heat didn’t work for two days. Lots of construction going on outside that was very noisy. Diesel air compressor running non stop outside the window for construction. Pool was closed. I imagine during the regular season with no construction this place is probably great but not the case for us.

There were only two problems on our trip, one was that the air conditioning didn’t seem to really work, and the other was that they came to empty the dumpsters at 5:45 AM on Saturday morning! Great hotel, great location - would love to come back when it's warmer out. Will say the pool is def. not as pretty as pics - older pool, siding chipping and hot tub is small but its indoor/outdoor pool which is cool. Movie theater was out of service which was a bummer but not a big deal - my daughter still loved the pool. Amentity wise since this is a longer stay like hotel room with full kitchen (no bfast service offered) would have liked to have some basics in the room besides coffee (salt and pepper, little bottle of olive oil/ also no body wash in shower, only body lotion and hair shampoo - luckily had my own stuff) - other than that i would def. love to come back and would be more prepared for next time - our room could have fit 6 people (two bedrooms, king, two twins and pull out full couch) - plenty of space - and two bathrooms! would love to visit again with more fam members - also great location/easy to walk to restaurants and shops, and in warmer months there is a lobster shack right out front.

This is a great resort, just steps from the harbor and all that Newport has to offer. The room was wonderful, and had that we could expect......BUT, the manager who rented me this on VRBO never once made any sort of contact and never responded to my questions. Not did they even send me directions to check in or a confirmation #. I had to speak to the front desk manager on several occasions days before check in and prove that I had a paid reservation. I would avoid this renter like the plague.

Arrived at 5pm for check in. Room was not ready. Called at 7.30 for update. Room was ready. Got to room at 8pm and it was dirty. Trash, unmade beds, towels on floor, leftovers in fridge. Luckily they had another clean room. Finally got into room after 8.30 with 2 very tired young children in tow. Thankfully Lindsay the Guest Services Manager called promptly the next day to resolve the issue.

The resort is great in many ways; cleanliness, comfort, well stocked kitchen and bathrooms, location to everything Newport has to offer and it would be extremely family friendly had the \"amenities\" been available. Much to my dismay, I was not informed atbthe time of booking, that ALL the amenities were completely shut down due to Covid. And we could only spend 1 hour in the pool over the entire course of our stay. I NEVER would have booked this stay. We should have stayed home and saved our money for a later visit. The resort and Orbitz should inform people about the lack of amenities available and offer a much reduced rate.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
We Stayed at Wyndham Long Wharf for 3 nights for a family trip. No amenities are open because of COVID 19 travel restrictions. The pool is open by reservation only. The front desk did not go out of there way at all to accommodate us to use the pool. We were told there were no slots available at all for the 3 days we stayed there but overheard the front desk offering other people slots that were checking in. So they are prioritizing who gets to use the pool. When you question them about the pool, they just say They are following corporate policies. The front desk also said only 33 people are allowed in pool at a time, but every time we walked by there was obviously less than 33 people in the pool. Front desk isn’t friendly, And rooms are decent but not exceptionally clean. There were still hairs in shower and on toilet from prior customers. They did accommodate us with a washer and dryer that was as loud as a JT-6 Jet Engine. One of the reasons I booked this resort was for the pool. I even called the resort a week before my arrival to make sure it was open, but wasn’t told about needing Reservations to use it until 24 hours prior to check in. Definitely not worth the money we paid for the room. I would NEVER stay here again!

2nd time here and we will return
Wish we had known there were renovations taking place. Although we were typically up by 7:00am the sound of drilling, vibrations and construction sound was in full swing by 8am Mon & Tuesday not leaving an opportunity to relax and enjoy a slow morning. Long lines were also an issue for the elevator on Sat/Sun as only one was available due to renovations. This was our 2nd stay and the location is great.

I did NOT like that there is no Bar and this is suppose to be a Resort. I did NOT like that there was no restaurant or food service establishment of any type on the premises of the Resort.
