Room was a tad worn down didn't care, the whole hotel was clean to my expectations. Pool area chairs in good condition and clean. This was my second time staying at the Wyndham Hotel in Playa del Carmen, and overall, I had a pleasant experience once again. The location is fantastic, and the staff remains welcoming and friendly. However, I did notice that the bathroom curtains looked quite old, with visible stains and a bit of mold. Additionally, the towels looked quite old and yellowish. Aside from these areas for improvement, my overall experience was enjoyable.

The property is overdue for maintenance. Rooms are outdated and you can see walls in the room in poor conditions. The curtain and the hooks in the bathroom totally rusty, pretty ugly. The towels too, MUST be replaced they're in pretty bad shape.
Breakfast is good and the restaurant personnel was super attentive and courteous. Especially Lupe and Gerardo, not to mention the Chef

The location of the hotel is very convenient if you want to travel around and have a rental car. In general we had a nice stay, however our room was very basic, room was nice and spacious, but lacked little amenities or services that I was expecting. To make myself clear, this is a good hotel, but has way too much room for improvement. My room was rather large in size, however we did not have a sitting area, there was only a desk and a desk chair, most hotels have a nice chair/sofa for you to sit down and get dress or relax. We did not have a safe, nor a hair dryer. We had to ask the front desk to get a luggage rack and an ice bucket. I was not expecting resort level services, but I was certainly expecting the basic amenities to get a nice sleep and the room equipped to comfortably be able to get a good night sleep, and to have the resources to cleanup comfortably and keep my valuables safe. Not so bad, but could improve.

It a 15 to 27 min walk to the 5th avenida. It like 10 to 13 min walk to chedraui and mcdonald's. Conviently close to collectivos to cancun and tulum 15 min walk. Only critic about this hotel is they have a mini bar for snacks at elvated prices, their is no daily managers reception, the beach offered is at a cost 500 or 600 pesos to beach clubs that are really far,no coffee or tea in common areas and no area shuttle (only taxis that charge alot ). But the rooms are renovated and beautiful, staff is so nice and meet your needs and the breakfast buffets are so yummy. They had adobe beef, green chile beef, nopal beef, hot dog casserole, pasta and potato beef stew. Aside from pancakes, cereals, breads, fresh cut fruit, qnd make your own chilaquiles. The chef is amazing and staff is constantly cleaning and placing more pans of freshly made food. Beware it the mexican locals that hog all the food or tamper with it. Like leaving it open, contaminating it by putting back what they served themselves or dropping other food when serving onto other containers . I seen turíst being more cautious with this. Like example papaya dropped into yogurt pan. Im allergic to papaya so I couldnt enjoy the yogurt.

As soon as we open the room to the room a roach came crawling out. Then the shower was soapy and when water would be turn on, it would not drain properly. Also, for laundry you have to be on a schedule to use washer and dryer, it would be nice to have at least one washer/dryer that you don’t have to be in schedule as we didn't have the time for that. Food was edible.

The first room we were offered was horrible. Broken chair. Broken tile in the bathroom, toilet did not flush properly and the Ac had a weird smell. I had to go and to be changed to a different room. The second room we got was the closest to the construction, and every morning we had to deal with all the noise.

The staff was very polite and helpful. I picked this hotel because I was told they had handicapped accomodations. Raised toilet seat etc. I was not given any handicapped accomodations. I cannot walk well and there was no food on the property in the evening. It was a far walk for me to anywhere in the area.

This place only provided 2 old and dirty towels. The room smelled like rotten eggs. I had to stay out for most of the time. Staff was rude when I asked to send me a clean towel. She said you only get 2 towels. No standard for American hotels. Very low quality and service.

Plumbing issues, reported early in morning to reception, theybtold me maintenace will address asap. Did not happen, so i had to leave and left my luggage at reception appx. 9am. They said, i cannot get a new room until 3pm at normal checkin. Go figure the logic. I could not wait to debate, was already late for doctor appt.
Got back at 2.30, provided a new room and they really thought they we doing me a great service.

Walkable from the ferry for the motivated person. Budget friendly, and I got a significant discount online 2 days prior to arrival via Expedia. Staff were very helpful and let me check in early because there was another room available. They let us eat breakfast the morning we arrived and there were options that were like lunch (pasta and meat) so that was our lunch for the day (breakfast goes to 11 am). Excellent breakfast options such as eggs, pasta, meat, pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, jello, chips and toppings. Workout facility clean and has a variety of cardio and dumbbells. Rooms were a bit stark but we were just staying the night. No mini fridge.

The property itself was not bad. The rooms were of a good size. It was the dressing of the rooms. Towels were old, stained and had holes. Shower curtain was hanging literally by threads. Sheets and covers were old and stained. Curtains and furniture had paint stains and paint drops on them. Furniture was old and losing its veneer layers. Staff did what they could with what they were given.

Its really run down! The sheets, towels, pillowcases, Floor mat were worn down and dingy gray. The pillowcases had holes in them. I actually took 1 down to show the front desk clerk. The sink faucet was so clogged that the water didn't run; it sprayed! When it was a holiday inn express it was better! Its not a hotel that we would stay in again.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Wyndam Garden. Check in was smooth and all the receptionists through the week were kind and helpful. They all spoke at least a little English so we managed with communicating. The room was spotless, everything worked, including the AC. The bed was comfortable, the room was cleaned
and made up every day. The swimming pool was not large, but clean and cool as it was shaded a good part of the day in February. I think we were there during a Mexican school holiday because there were quite a few families staying. That may have been the reason for the strange shortage of towels. There were a few restaurants within a short walk, we loved Don Sirloin nearby, and there was a Chaudry supermarket nearby with everything you could need. We didn't have a fridge or a safe in the room, but we could leave a few food items in the fridge at reception, and we left our passports etc. in their safe when we were outside the hotel and collected them when there. There was a tour desk in the lobby, and taxis readily available. 150 pesos anywere in the downtown zone. The main free beach, Playa del Carmen, and the small free area vccvcbbjfvcaaas dof Playcar beach And finally, the breakfast buffet was extensive, generous and delicious. It included fresh fruit, cereal and pancakes, eggs, and a variety of cooked dishes with vegetables and chicken or beef.
Overall we were very hapy with pur stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again

When we entered the lobby, the smell of mold was strong. We thought that perhaps there had been some flooding in the area, but the clerk said it was just humidity. We were assigned a room on the first floor and the smell of mold was so bad, I couldn't breathe. (I have asthma.) The clerk was apologetic and gave us a room on the second floor. That room didn't have quite as bad a smell, but there was still some odor. Upon return to the US, my CPAP machine came back reeking of mold and I had to change the filter, hose, and mask. The tank had to be bleached. We had already pre-paid and it was late, so we decided to stay.

Imagine my surprise when I turned down the bed covers to discover a used tissue in between the sheets. We slept on top of the covers and in the morning took all of the linens off the bed. There were two bath towels and one hand towel for us to share.

The good parts of the hotel were the front desk and breakfast staff. They were friendly and helpful. The hotel also provided 2 free bottles of water per night since the tap water was not safe to drink. That's common in that part of Mexico and the hotel made coffee, tea, and other beverages with filtered water.

It could be a great hotel, but they have to clean the air system to get out the mold.

If you are going to stay more than 4 days take into account that the breakfast is the same every single day, which it ends being boring. There is not variety how the eggs are cooked. The infrastructure is cheap, bed frames unstable, no fridge in the room. No good ventilation in the rooms. You cannot open the windows so your beach clothes never get dry. The service is excellent as well the cleaness of the place.

La habitación hay mucha la humedad no hay ventilación , las ventanas no se habren . Lo más conveniente es colocar un aromatizante de lavanda o algo suave para que no se quede ese olor desagradable cuando entra una a la habitación. Lo demás está bien .

If you try to pay in USD, they will give you a terrible exchange rate. With some work I paid closer to my reservation quote but still more than I expected.
General exterior of the hotel looks more dingy than the pictures shown. There were no hand towels in the room, and you need your ID to get pool towels.
Lots of choices for breakfast and there are ebikes on-site for rental.

The check in agent did his job but didn’t even smile with no personality at all. The rooms looked simple, the caulking in the bathroom was stained and shower curtain was too short causing a lot of water to splash out to the floor, the closet door was unhinged, no phone in the room to call for service. On the positive , the rooms and property were clean and the bed was comfortable, breakfast was good. Overall it was fine for a late check in & one night stay but not worth the price paid.
