The hotel staff were great, helpful, kind and very accommodating. The rooms were done promptly and the breakfast was always top notch. The interior had high end finishes. The only negative was upon initial approach to the building the street seemed daunting and unapproachable due to the high graffiti, first impression was that it was not safe. We quickly realized that it was very safe and in a great location, close to the Opera House and St Stephen’s and the “shopping street”. Don’t let the outside street deter you, it’s well worth the stay.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel. The rooms were well decorated and cosy, the air conditioning worked nicely & I didn’t experience any late night noise, like some others had suggested. The reception staff were friendly & always on hand to help too. Location is great for coffee shops, bars & restaurants.

Given my fondness for opera, the location of this hotel is minutes away from one of the most lustrous opera houses in Europe. Apart from that, the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful with making my visit to Budapest more enjoyable. I felt very comfortable in my stay at the Ambra Hotel.

We were on 5th floor, and room was very warm, so needed to use the air conditioning, however it was not very efficient. That is the only complaint. The room, and in fact all of the hotel was immaculate, staff were friendly and breakfast was good. Would return to this hotel if I was visiting Budapest again.

Just loved this hotel. The staff was so amazing and helpful. The room itself was nice, clean and modern, and what a lovely balcony. Good breakfast. And they also had an own garage. Within walking distance to sightseeings and restaurants. I would definitely be back.

The staff at this hotel was amazing. They were always ready to help us for anything. We had travelling issues (unrelated to this hotel) that had to be resolved on the phone in Hungarian and they acted as our translators a few times. Very polite and friendly too.

The hotel is small, but clean and looks recently renovated. The area around the hotel looks a little less polished but we felt very safe the whole time. Lots of restaurants/bars in walkable distance.

Excellent hotel - location, service, courtesy and cleanliness above expectations
We stayed at the hotel for seven nights
Upon our arrival at the hotel, we never stopped to be pleasantly surprised.
The room was prepared earlier than the expected time of arrival.
The room was large and spacious and, of course, clean and polished.
A bottle of champagne and two glasses were waiting for us in the room in a cold ice bucket as a gift from the hotel in honour of our wedding anniversary.
The receptionists were always lovely, courteous and hospitable.
The breakfasts were delicious, rich and varied
The ambience of the dining area was pleasant.
The hotel's location in the 7th district - the entertainment district was fantastic.
The hotel is located in a quiet alley, less than 5 minutes from all the restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood.
We will undoubtedly return to this hotel the next time we have the opportunity to Budapest, and we will definitely recommend it to all our friends and acquaintances.

Dejligt hotel i hjertet af Budapest. Vi gik til alting. Flot værelse, dejlig stort. Sengen er hård. Og der er ret lydt på værelset. Vores naboer larmede meget. Men virkelig god service i receptionen, de var så hjælpsomme med alting. Morgenmaden er ok, men ikke prangende. Rigtig god kaffe.

в ноябре 21 года мы останавливались на 5 дней в отеле Амбра, очень милый и уютный отель, чисто, персонал исключительно дружелюбен, если возникали какие то проблемы- мгновенно все решалось.пользуясь случаем хотелось бы поблагодарить г-на Даниэля и г-жу Андреа с рецепшн за отзывчивость и индивидуальный подход , ( мы заказали стандартную комнату , очень не советую, реально неудобно, вдвоем просто не развернуться, на рецепшн отнеслись с пониманием, и заменили нам комнату на супериор за пол цены от разницы. Для сравнения я ставлю фотографии двух комнат).И в дальнейшем были исключительно отзывчивы и профессиональны.
моя искренняя благодарность отелю за сюрприз с шампанским ко дню рождения, было очень приятно.
Местоположение отеля- мин 15 до центра, просто повернуть налево, продолжая прямо по улице королей выйдете к центру .Отель совсем близко от еврейского квартала, рядом полно ресторанчиков, пекарен, кафешек.
завтраки вкусные, яичница, сосиски, колбаски и сыры , зелень, маслины, потрясающий вкусный йогурти даже шампанское🙃
Удобная кровать и очень хорошее белье.
единственный минус- плохая, звукоизоляция..слышно всех, кто просто проходит по улице.запаситесь берушами
.соотношение цены и качества на все сто процентов.Спасибо еще раз отелю и всего самого доброго

A nice hotel with a sound problem

A very nice, clean hotel in a good location with extremely friendly staff and good breakfasts (varies a little every day!). The only complain is about the rooms not being soundproof. We could hear the couple talking in the room next to us, the girls having a wild party above us and I was woken several times with somebody's cell phone vibrations on their bed side table - all of this transfers so well through plaster walls!

Very nice hotel, in a quiet block very close to lots of restaurants and pubs, just 3 blocks away from the Opera metro station. Very convenient location. If you're driving, drop the car at the automated parking garage just 2 blocks away. They will give you the directions. It is inexpensive and very safe. Breakfast was a little below average, but still good. We enjoyed our stay and would return

Hotel an staff were very nice but unfortunately I had my mobile phone robbed from my room . The manager did as much as he could an even called police as it was a iPhone an it was showing that it was still in the hotel . We had checked out for 11 was not getting picked up till 3 . We had put case in the storage provided an went out to continue to sight see this is when I noticed I had left my mobile in our room . Within 30 minutes we returned to check room I knew it was there as it was showing it was still there . After 3 hours of searching I still did not have phone . So I the last few days have been madness to get a new phone . This sadly la bad mark towards this hotel . Otherwise I was happy with the accommodation.

The Head Receptionist Andrea was extremely friendly and helpful which was a nice first impression of the hotel. The other members of staff were also very polite. We had a superior room on the 5th floor and although it did face the street the windows were very soundproof. The room was spotless and spacious. Great location in the centre of the city. Breakfast had a variety of options and the cappuccino from the machine was very tasty! Great value for money and we would definitely stay here again.

A Gem.

This is a very very good hotel. The front of house during the our stay Andrea was fantastic and so helpful. She has the patience of a saint or may be even two saints. Dealing with difficulty customers was no problem for her. Our room was very very good as was breakfast and the staff there were really good. We don't normally tip but felt like we should and we did. They were worth in. Hotel is in a really central location only a couple of block from the Opera House and the glitzy shops. Budapest can be a little edgy but only really felt unsafe around the many drunk ignorant English males that swamp this city. Street food is close by and was good but not cheap. Back to the hotel it was a gem. Wouldn't look to stay elsewhere when I return to Budapest.

on the first night we had a double room facing the street (a quiet street , but still, when people are standing under your window and talking aloud, you hear them) and couldn't shut down the heating.
That made us wake up a few times at night because of the heat. (the noise from the street stopped at a reasonable hour)
Then we requested a room facing the back, and with an option to turn off the heating.
The rest of our stay was amazing.
The rooms were spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was very good.
The staff were extremely helpful and professional.

The hotel is in a great spot for bars, restaurants, and the sights are easily within walking distance.
We upgraded to a superior room €10 per night which was worth it as the room was really big, bathroom lovely and floor to wall windows.
Only wish the hotel had satellite TV as on an evening after all the walking only 2 news channels a available in English.

Stayed for 4 nights , great location and good value.
Nice bars and restaurants within 2 -10 minutes walk away,
The hotel was undergoing some refit on floor below therefore 3 stars for facilities and condition, but not a major problem.
Basically a good hotel if you are looking for a bed and breakfast then head off out for rest of the day.
Nice restaurant for breakfast, a little more variety on the hot food would have been good, a lot of scrambled eggs, but not a big issue, A 'bar' facility in the reception so you can have a beer or glass of wine in the hotel which we did when we arrived in early hours of the morning.
NB - we did NOT take up the offer of a hotel arranged airport transfer from the airport to the hotel and we were overcharged by the taxi from airport - we used the transfer arranged facility arranged by the hotel on departure to the airport and this was excellent, almost half the price.
Hotel staff are excellent , helpful and speak good English,
Happily use this hotel again if I return to Budapest.
We had a great stay.

Lovely hotel!

Excellent location in Budapest, right near lots of restaurants and bars and easy walking to most sight seeing spots, including over chain bridge which only took about 30 mins to get to the other side! The only thing that let it down was that the shower in our room (204) as I think it was a bit broken and we had two single mattresses together and our friends had a double bed. However we still had a great time and would definitely recommend this hotel, great breakfast too!

We found the staff very helpful ,polite and helpful.
Our matress was hard one, shower handle was broken so we needed to hold it while showering which is kinda hard , the hot cold temperature changed from boiling hot to cool in matter seconds which made showers really tough.although we asked someone to come upstairs and show us how to use the safe , and they did right away, it still didnt work, it locked our belongings but we needed someone to open it, it simply didnt work.
Location was nice, staff was nice and fast to respond to our needs.

Hotel was clean and in a great location. Only 3 blocks from metro and about the same from great location for restuarants. Room was a bit small and the pillows in the room at first were horrid. They do have a \"pillow menu\" that has other options---use them, they are far better than the regular ones. Breakfast was great and staff quite friendly and helpful.

Hotel reception staff were excellent - very friendly, helpful and efficient.The hotel itself is very well located - walking distance to the Opera House, and Opera underground station, and a 15 minute walk to the Danube. There are plentiful restaurants and bars in the immediate neighbourhood. Don't be put off by the slight shabbiness of surrounding streets, the hotel itself is clean and comfortable, and the rooms sizeable with very comfy beds.

However, although stated, there is no bar in the hotel but there is a small mini fridge with some bottled beer, sparkling wine and soft drinks. Good hotel in good location

Clean comfortable room except no air conditioning the first two days....very hot and uncomfortable. Got air the third day. Staff not able to help the first two days. Great breakfasts and very comfortable beds.

Location if fairly good. It is on a shabby side street just half a block from a better neighborhood. Very noisy on the street from midnight to 3:00 a.m.

Rooms at the back of the hotel are fine, the rooms at the front of the hotel are very very noisy from midnight till 5am in the morning

Our Enjoyable Stay in Budapest

We were lucky with the weather that, on the whole, was dry and mainly sunny. We found the Jewish Synagogue by accident where, on our second day, we attended an excellent concert after discovering places of interest in Pest. The next day was spent walking over the Chain Bridge to the Buda side where we walked up a zig zag path to the castle visiting The National Gallery and a folk market as well as taking in the great views from the castle and nearby church.

Great location and amazing staff, bad acoustics

The location is really good, the staff is extremely nice and helpful.
The problem I had was related to noise. The acoustics were bad, I heard my room neighbors talking at late night hours. There's a supermarket in front of the hotel early in the morning the suppliers deliver goods and made a lot of noise. The staff changed my room and the other one was much better in terms of noise. Besides this, the hotel is fine, small, nice breakfast complementary coffee and snacks all day long.

Enjoyable stay

This was a well located property in a fun and interesting part of town. Rooms were good and the breakfast included in room rate was a good way to start the day.
