The hotel is beautiful. The room we had was lovely. The breakfast was delicious. The parking lot was not paved and dusty. There wasn’t a fitness center. I believe they were renovating the hotel and I do see a lot of potential. I would go back.

The hotel is quiet and tidy, and the staff are enthusiastic. The breakfast is generally acceptable, though the taste is a bit salty. Transportation is not very convenient, requiring a taxi to get around. The rooms are spacious and clean.

There is much that is very good about Eurostars Hacienda Vista Real Hotel but it isn't for everyone. My wife and I enjoyed it thoroughly but we enjoyed it most because it was safe and quite and beautiful. AND because the staff were so friendly and helpful.
They have done a lot of work to upgrade the facility but it still requires work that appears to be ongoing.

We absolutely loved our room. The pool was nice. The swim up bar was not being used but we wouldn't have generally used this anyway.
Breakfast was always good, the staff always friendly. Only thing was the walk to 5th Avenue, doable but took a good 20-25 minutes. They do offer free parking though and have bikes to rent.

Really nice place. Didn’t have some of the amenities we were counting on such as laundry and room service, but had laundry place and a few restaurants near by. Staff was super nice and helpful. I was in a gated area so felt really safe. The breakfast was great! Beach was a close walk and they had beach towels.

Parking lot had nails. I was scared to punched my tires.
The room windows dis not lock, couldnt sleep thinking some one can come in.
I was move to two rooms because the lights went off . No a/c horrible.
I had to fight to get transferred to a good room . They had to give me a suite double bed because they didnt have rooms close by my family member.
It work at last , but it was a hassle.

Don't like: Hard to find, there are not a sign to indicate where is the hotel and for a foreign it s not evident. The food was too simple and taked a lot of time. The bathroom doesn't have air extractor, the shower splash out alll the place.

Beautiful ambiance, great breakfast, borders a golf course in a quiet area of Playacar. They give you wrist bands to use facilities of a small beach sister hotel in downtown. Overall lovely experience, would go back.

The location and staff of the this hotel is not bad at all. the problem is the lack of maintenance and cleanliness of the rooms. All this falls under management care. The TV has horrible signal, the breakfast was just OK the pool was OK although the ambient is great. The room tub was never properly clean, our room had an ant problem and were switch to a different room and the sheets were flip from one side to the other an not replace for clean ones. They do have the staff who is friendly to do the works but if management does not care about the little details then it will never get done.

It would be a 0 star if I could but their cleaning lady was pretty awesome. Atleast we had a clean room each night. Very old and uncomfortable mattress, very old pillows that went pancake thin. We had cold water the first 3 of the 11 nights. The hot tube never worked the whole time, pool had dirty traps every day, empty bar that never was manned, very cool outside grill/cook area that was run down and broken. Their morning breakfast buffet had a good selection but it looked like the same stuff that was put out the morning before and just reserved.

Over all the hotel looked like it used to be a great place back in the day and now its run down and half working. Even apon checking out the guy didnt care about us just saying very good.

The entrance of the property was very welcoming and nicely decorated. once we got to our room which was the biggest room that they had available we noticed water damage damage to door frames door that didn't close windows that didn't close all the way so mosquitoes were able to get into our room. Not all sliding doors to the patios locked so our room was unsecured. there was an ant hole in the wall there is ants in the room chip paint we use the shower we had no hot water the first day we were not notified by the staff but they were aware of the issue on our second and third day there the Wi-Fi internet was not working the breakfast options very good.

The only good thing is the amount of space. The walls are stained , the faucets yo showers are old and justy. The shower head broke on the 2nd night, they moved us 2 different rooms. Where the AC's weren't working.

The hotel is privately located which is a plus but the ac for the living room didn’t work! Most of the door knobs were loose and our toilet for the room didn’t flush very good and every time I went to the front office to get someone to come and help us because at one point it completely clogged, they said “Yeah I’ll send someone but no one ever came!” Very disappointing!

I love thIs hotel, almost everything was perfect, and let me clarify the almost part, the people at the reception was amazing, Joshua went above and beyond to make sure our stay there was pleasant, we got there late afternoon and my family was hungry, and this is the almost part, the hotel doesn’t have a lobby, so you have to carry your luggage from the street to the front desk, and the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant either, nor a deli to order food at any time, but they do have one in the mornings for breakfast only, but the local restaurants delivered to your room and the prices were very affordable, is worth to mention that the people at the breakfast restaurant, were too amazingly polite and attentive, the pool was kind of small compared to all the other hotels here at the Cancun area, but it was never too crowded and my grandkids had a wonderful time ( so did I )
So the downside.
1- no lobby
2- no restaurants
Everything else, AMAZING

Quiet hotel in a residential area, lovely pool & staff, with a great room, could do with a restaurant or bar to liven things up a little, loads of local wildlife to see (iguanas, agoutis, coutis), but bit of a mosquito problem due to lake on adjacent golf course - take lots of repellent! Overall an enjoyable place to stay with decent buffet breakfasts included 😎

Great property if you have transporstion. We loved the big rooms but understand why people would avoid the lower level because of noise and occasional odors. I asked for the upper level and the rooms where spacious and beautiful (old style Mexican which we love). Breakfast was just ok but really we werent expecting much because of all the bad reviews.

If you want to get out of the hotel zone and find some quiet but be close enough, this is a perfect place. We specifically chose this place to get sleep and it was very quiet, beautiful and nice. The rooms are clean and exactly as you see, not trendy, more old school mexico. The breakfast was a huge buffet choice and all was delicious. You will need to taxi to get anywhere, and the entrance to the lobby was confusing. The street just ended and you get out.

The room had ants which got into everything, clothes, crawling on my iPhone and even the hidden zip locked candy. Add a leak from the ceiling ( possible air conditioning) through the ceiling and onto anyone who sat on the toilet, with water on the floor. The next day they moved us to another room with no special needs or care and though the room didn’t have ants or a leak above the toilet, it had no shower curtain nor a working TV. Both items pointed out and only the curtain was added. The breakfast was good with no complaints. This was not a good stay as the other 6 hotels we stayed at just prior to this one. The on-site manager could only say sorry and did nothing to try and keep guests happy. What a huge pain in having to pack up and move the next day after our arrival. We were planning on booking a third night after we arrived, however cancelled that the very next morning. One bad night was soon to be two.

Upon arriving at the hotel you enter a gated residential neighbourhood and when you approach the hotel it looks absolutely beautiful.....wonderful trees and garden and golf and a little lake.

After that we saw a limited number of negative things in this hotel: the hotel looks abandoned for a long time, So the bar in the pool always closed The pool is not cleaned,

The spa and the gym has no aircon and no lights,

Wonderful breakfast in the morning and no dinner or lunch.

The rooms are huge with old Mexico furniture but with air conditional and good wi-fi but we had a problem in our bathroom from the ceiling leaking water from the light and the toilet didn`t work.

This hotel has potentially need of renovation.

The hotel was very clean. The housekeeping cleaned the rooms every day and always put new towels, made the beds, and would leave two bottles of water every day. The workers at the service desk were always helpful and gave us so much information as to how to get around the city, and would help us order a taxi whenever needed. Great place to stay!

Staff did not tell me nor did Expedia that there would be a $20 per night to stay tax through the government I’m not sure if that’s true I need to speak with someone from Expedia regarding that but I had to pay an additional $60 after the fact and I was never a mention of front on here or at the hotel

The place is different from the last 4 or 5 years ago since I stayed there. It is really run down, the beds are not as advertised on the booking. It smells old. I am very disappointed of the place. Another reason, the hotel is in a private property not belonging to the hotel,and security have no P.R. and don't care whether you have a reservation.

The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are nice but the bed was very uncomfortable almost like sleeping on a rock. We did not get anyone to clean our rooms the first couple of days except when we went to the front to ask for water, then they would send somebody. The pool was too dirty to swim in. It looks like it was once a very nice place but has just gone down hill with all the other hotel options near the beach. Breakfast was good.

For golfers

Comfortable experience but did not expect to be such a walk from the beach. It is about a half an hour walk to the beach club which is a few blocks down from Playa del Carmens square.
The hotel is situated in a gated community (Playacar) it is not a straight shot of a walk because you need to enter and exit through the security gates.
The hotel is backed onto a golf course so there is a lot of greenery. Has several pools and a pond which inhabits turtles.
It costs about 90 pesos to take a cab to the beginning of Fifth Avenue from the hotel.

It is very safe, I could not blame that, you have to go through two security to get in. GPS won't show correct location, so use your phone to navigate. Parking lot is a bit sandy, friendly staff, big room but a little aged. Breakfast is amazing!!! Overall, it is very good, the hotel is better than the photos they have in the website.

Nice, squeaky clean, basic room, in upscale parklike secure neighborhood. I liked the lack of American guests, as this hotel seems to cater to European and Latino audience. Nice to go to Mexico and not hang out with a bunch of other Ameros. Great staff, great buffet breakfast, good wifi, good AC in room. Staff said bugs (mosquitoes) were around, but didn't see any or get bit. Bring sunscreen.

Very difficult to find as it is in the middle of a golf course in Playacar which didn't come up on my Google map.
Parking lot a little dicey not paved and rocky. Took 2 days to get hot water in the sink and a proper Face cloth.
Breadfast buffet quite pleasing and varied.. Nice quiet area. and staff pleasant & helpful.

Located in the middle of a private golf course. Must have own transportation or pay $5.25 each way for a taxi, just get to to closest store or restaurant.
Also one of the hardest beds I have slept on..It was just the box-spring with extra comforter.

A beautiful hotel hidden in gorgeous PlayaCar

The Eurostars Hacienda VR has been my go-to hotel for many years because it is one of the most trustworthy and well-kept secrets of PDC. The rooms are beautifully appointed and even though there is bound to be some construction going on to improve a room or two (if you end up being placed in a room with construction just ask to be moved), the front desk staff will really go out of their way to make your stay as perfect as possible. The poolside free breakfast is a nice treat and the free parking is extra convenient. Also, this is one of the only PDC hotels within such a reasonable budget range - please keep the prices this way. The spa is amazing, don’t miss that either!

Not worth the money, not very good service

Overall wasn’t very plesent.
Good part is breakfast has many choices, 6 or 7 different fruits, loved pan fried eggs, pancakes, breads, cooked vegetables change every day. Juice, milk and cereal.

Part is not good is, shower water is not hot, some morning just completely cold. The doors can’t be locked, asked service desk to fixed it, nothing happened. Double bed is small. Asked for extra comforter, not given any, later the house keeper gave one extra without asking.

Arrived on New Year Eve around 10pm at hotel , front desk not making any effort to get us place in restaurant.

Front desk tried to sell us Xcaret’s tickets, $4 cheaper, and took $4 per ticket reservation fee, but when I get to the park, they still charged me full price. At least when I got back to them with the receipt, they refunded me the reservation fee.

We paid about $460 per night after new year, had a living room and a full kitchen, just feel service didn’t the price and comfort.

First Impression: Good neighborhood, Good architecture, courteous staff, good breakfast, spa
Second Impression: Turning on the tub in bathroom #1 caused heavy water leakage from inside walls of bathroom# 2 - caused flooding in bedroom , living room, with lasting smell - Two times.

Price of property slightly more than Bellagio/ Venetian in Vegas, but room condition worse than a basic hotel.
And paying US $ in a good tourist spot in a non-US location..

Are tourist dumbs?
Even in good condition, price paid was slightly high in holiday season.
For our case, some Motel 6 chains might have been more maintained than the issues we had to face...

We would still stay again, if room condition meets minimum maintenance standards.

Very impressed with the security of this community. It had great restaurants and accommodations within the secured and gated community. The hotel itself was quite cute and offered a beautiful spa/gym, yoga bike rentals, etc... didn't spend too much time in room as we were adventuring around the Yucatán, but the beds were quite comfortable when we did get in!

The hotel itself is beautiful, it is located inside playacar which is a really safe zone it is so safe I felt a little trapped behind 2 gates, it made it very hard +expensive to access public transportation as just to get from our hotel to the beach it was 150 pesos one way and NOT all taxis can go into this gated community.
The staff are great and friendly but they are dealt a crappy hand as the hotel needs some immediate attention.
Our beds were hard as a rock because they have cement bases we had to get moved to a new room as our initial bed was hard on the sides and sinking in the middle and we didn't sleep.Unfortunately after we got moved to the next room rather than replacing the mattress we saw that the room was cleaned and a new guest was subjected to the bad bed sure enough when we were having breakfast heard the couple having the same complaint. They also don't put sheets on your bed, just a comforter which was a bit weird.
There are no options for dinner and the bar closes around 5.

I believe this place has great POTENTIAL to be better if the owners would change the beds +put some good sheets on them, get a good restaurant in, and run a shuttle that takes you to the main plaza a few times a day. Bottom line I WOULD NOT STAY HERE and I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Save your hard earn money and treat your self to another place where you will actually rest, this is not it.

More bang for your buck!!

Beautiful hotel. The price is extremely fair! The rooms were far better than the expensive all inclusive resorts. You walk across the golf course and you are on the main strip! 5th Ave is also walkable. I would stay here again for sure! We did a lot of sight seeing so there was no need to pay for all inclusive resorts when you just need a place to sleep that is comfy and safe!

Quiet experience

This is a great place to stay if you like a super quiet experience. You are isolated from a lot of the attractions and restaurants and town. The property is a little older and run down but has so much potential. We love to stay there every time we visit Playa del Carmen.

The hotel was very nice well landscaped and front desk staff was great especially Jorge he was friendly and helpful. Our room was well priced. My only real complaints was the lighting could be better, if would be nice if they had amenities such as a small refrigerator and microwave in the room and the mattress was on the hard side. This hotel was a reasonable distance from town in safe gated Community. I'd spend the extra money and get a suite .

best hotel for the money ever

the décor of the hotel is very nice, the pool is overlooking a pond, which overlooks a golfcourse, which is such a peaceful place to sit and see the sunset and catch the last sunrays after coming home from the beach.
the walk to the beach is long, almost 2 km, but safe and pleasant and walking is good for you :-)
try to get a room with a balcony, those rooms are the best. the standard room is on the ground level and you get no daylight in, it feels a bit klastophobic. The breakfast which is included is nice, Wifi works, staff is nice too. I would definitely recommend and go again myself.

I've stayed here several times and while it is a lovely hotel it is showing it's age. Damage areas in the common areas, no hot water in the bathroom sink and most disturbing was that all the smoke detectors had been removed from my room.

Good with potential for better.

Very quite and beautiful location with walking distance to beach and Playa. Toilet did not flush well, front desk staff were unable to assist with verifying airport shuttle and trips (language barrier). Trees blocked most of sun hitting pool area. Great breakfast. Felt safe.

No facilities for persons with special needs!

No elevators or facilities for special needs! Too many stairs to go to front desk, or any place! No place to eat during tha day, except breakfast till 10:00am!

Right on Playa Car Golf Coure

This hotel is right between holes #1 and #6 on the Playa Car golf course which was the reason for our visit. A 4 day golf excursion. We rented the Royal Suite which had two bedrooms, one with two single beds and one with a king.
Two bathrooms and a full kitchen, 3 T.V's, and a living, dining area with a patio. Only complaint was the patio light was burnt out and although we complained it did not get changed. One A.C. unit the remote batteries were low and had to be replaced which was done the same day. Breakfast was included.

Only other complaint is the taxi service is not good to this hotel and you are best to walk to the golf club house and catch a cab across the street at all the big all inclusive hotels.

Not the best hotel I've stayed in, it was just ok.

I had ants in my room, I asked if they could do something about it and they didn't. The hotel never had towels available for the pool (I stayed 9 days...really, not once?). And the beds are super hard, like they're laying on concrete so it's not super comfy.

But the AC worked, we always had water available. Also, for some odd reason I had to pay as soon as I checked in rather than checked out as indicated on hotels.com

Cheap lovely hotel.

The hotel does breakfast only this is buffet style with a variety of cereals fruits yoghurt etc as well as hot food. There is a lovely pond out the back of the hotel that has turtles in it. Very clean swimming pool area. Tvs in rooms as well as free wifi at this hotel. They don't serve evening meals but it's a short taxi ride away to restaurants & shops.
