The staff was very nice and the food was great. There was a club and sports bar available for nightlife and plenty of outdoor areas to sit and lounge.

During our stay, the staff began to re-stucco our villa, so we had some noise in the morning. Our rooms were well-stocked with beverages and alcohol. The beds were very, very comfortable! The towels became smelly quickly, though. Overall, it was a nice facility and we had a great time.

Bueno para comenzar la atención no es tan buena el lugar bien pero las habitaciones quedan muy lejos hay que caminar un montón la comida es muy mala tienen un buffet que lo mantienen abierto cada 3 horas comida de muy mala calidad te dicen que tienes 2 o 3 opciones de restaurante disque un steak house y un italiano y cuando llegamos a los restaurantes cerrados la playa queda a 15 minutos caminando disque te lleva un carrito de golf qué anda de ves en cuando caminamos un montón para llegar a la playa y cuando llegamos la playa estaba llena de regazo nisiquiera la limpian para el turista que está pagando bastante plata para poder pasar un momento agradable con tu familia la verdad no volveré mas a ese resort hay muchos mejores que este por menos precio una decepción total no ballan.

This was my fifth visit to Hotel Riu Tequila, and it continues to impress. The resort is well maintained, and the food and drinks are consistently good. What keeps us coming back, however, is the exceptional service. The staff is friendly, professional, fast, and engaging throughout the resort. A special thank you to the Sports Bar team Andrea, Dana, and manager Jose. At the Rosa Buffet, Rangel is a true superstar who consistently delivers outstanding service. The hospitality and dedication of the staff make this resort stand out year after year.

I have stayed here multiple times and have never been disappointed. Team members and staff are very friendly and welcoming, and even remembered me from prior visits. The sports bar is such a great place to hang out and has a lot of good vibes. Very safe, convenient, and close to the beach. Staying here we’re also able to take advantage of other beachfront, hotels, buffet and all-inclusive drinks. Will definitely be staying again.

This is the third time I’ve stayed at a Riu property, and my first time at the Riu Tequila. The hotel is great, and the staff are wonderful; however, I do feel that the rooms are in need of an update. The food and drinks are good, and the hotel is always very lively. Next time, I’d like to stay at the Riu Palace.

This is a beautiful property with so much to do throughout the day. Activities such as volleyball, darts, horseshoes, water polo, aqua gym, stretching, Latin dance lessons, & more continue throughout the day or you can just relax on the lounges & enjoy the sunshine. There are 4 pools, take your pick. Although the beach is not on the property, it is a 7 minute walk through a lovely shaded path or you can be driven there by a golf cart that runs every 10 minutes. The Buffet offers a wonderful variety of food & plenty of fresh fruits & vegetables. There is so much to choose from. There is also an Asian restaurant, Italian & Steak House you can go to without making any reservations. All are delicious. The waiters at all restaurants are very friendly & helpful. You will see Wilbert, one of the head guys at the buffet. We got to know Polo who served us at breakfast. The rooms are spacious, some people say a little dated but were fine for us plus there is a lot of storage. The shows at night are wonderful! The activity folks are amazing working throughout the day & into the night providing exceptional entertainment. They are true professionals. Shout outs to Daniel, Eduardo, Saul, Norbeto, Rafael, Johnny, Nadia & Jacqueline to name a few who helped make our vacation fun, memorable & so enjoyable! You will love the RIU TEQUILLA !!

First time at a Riu Resort and i was not disappointed. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. There was plenty of great food to choose from their 5 restaurants, pool bar and 24hr sports bar. This is truly a family friendly resort with lots of scheduled activities throughout the day and themed shows/events nightly. This resort is know for its Friday party's. Great choice and will definitely be returning.

We had cockroach in first room on the main floor, than we were moved to the other room on the second floor and no cockroach there, but at the end of our stay we were offered to moved to a better room but on the first floor again. We lived on this upgrade room for 5 days with little tenants again.
Definitely cockroaches is the issue in this hotel

My stay at Riu Tequila had some great highlights, but also a few letdowns.

The entertainment team was truly top-tier — easily 10/10. They consistently organized activities throughout the day and night and made a real effort to engage guests. They were friendly, energetic, and made the experience fun. The shows were interactive and kept us entertained the entire stay.

Another standout was the cleanliness. This is one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. You constantly see staff maintaining the property, and the rooms were spotless every day.

However, the biggest disappointment was the food and drinks. For a RIU resort, I expected much better quality. Most of the cocktails tasted watered down, which was surprising. The food overall was hit or miss during my six-night stay. The buffet was excellent on two nights, offering a great variety of meats and fresh options, but inconsistent on other days. The restaurants were decent, but definitely could have been better. Compared to other RIU resorts I’ve visited, this was a noticeable downgrade in both food and drink quality.

One important thing to note: this is not a beachfront property. You’ll need to take a golf cart or walk across the street, which takes about 7–10 minutes. While the golf cart runs every 10 minutes, this could be inconvenient for elderly guests or anyone with mobility challenges.

Overall, I’d rate this resort a 7/10. The property is beautiful, and the entertainment and cleanliness really stand out.

The food was amazing each and every day! The staff are nice and attentive! The cocktails are fun and refreshing! We had the chance to attend the white party which was premium, fun and exciting! Entertainment at night s great and fun!
Amenities are fantastic. There were a couple of issues with the room but were minor, front desk apologized by dropping a bottle of prosecco in the room. We celebrated a birthday during our stay, staff also dropped a tequila bottle in the room as a gift, they also decorated the room with ballons and fun animal figures made out of towels!
Negatives: 1 golf cart is not enough to run people to the beach.
Overall fantastic stay! Loved my time there

What a lovely little gem! We have been to many all inclusive hotels here but this place ticks all boxes! The entertainment was amazing, the vibe was excellent. The food was tasty, not exceptional but really good especially for an all inclusive. The drinks were fantastic, be sure to ask for a Pink Gin and Tonic. The rooms are a bit dated but they are clean and comfortable. They have a little mobile library to check out a book and the choice of pools is a great option. We will most definitely come back again. Lovey vibe, great music, wonderful atmosphere for a bit of everything!

I was very disappointed with not having Secruity on path ways . Every night between 11pm and 4am in morning there was someone intoxicated scream , fighting. I have no problem with individuals having a a good time that was too much. You go on Vacation to relax but it's hard to do when individuals are waking you up. The food was great and staff was wonderful but didn't make up for the persons that were intoxicated between 11pm and 4am

We really enjoyed our visit. The beach is a short walk from the hotel, and there is a beach-side restaurant so you can stay all day. The staff were all very helpful. My family also enjoyed the animals which were wandering around (Coati and Agouti), it was an unexpected bonus for us.

The hotel has a good location and a very pleasant environment. The buffet offers excellent variety and quality, especially for breakfast and lunch. However, I believe the dinner options could be improved, as they were not as impressive.
One downside was that we found some cockroaches in our room, which was disappointing and something the hotel should definitely address.
Overall, it is a good place to stay if you are looking to have fun, enjoy drinks, and meet new people.

Our stay was okay overall we went with around 14 individuals and definitely noticed some inconsistencies and issue throughout. First when we arrived many of the rooms had no issue checking in however mine took over an hour working with someone who was “training” at the front desk to get things figured out. I booked 2 connecting rooms with double beds for 6 people. I was worried about sleeping room and not only emailed RIU for a response and was told we were good to go but also did the pre check in room with all of our information. This worker claimed we only ever paid for one room for 3 people and that the others were not included or paid for. Keep in mind I already pre checked with proof and all of my emails and receipts through Expedia and emails through the hotel. He argued with us for over an hour in the middle of the night about us getting our rooms. Then finally realized we had payed. I was not impressed. Why send out a pre check in if it’s not even utilized???? In addition to this the food did make a lot of us pretty sick. Not super great and we were careful due to hearing that the food and water can make you sick. Now on top of all this one of our groups got transferred to the hotel two down from us because they overbooked rooms. How inconvenient!!!! We were offered no alterations to make up for any of this. Half of our group had wrist bands that then only worked at there hotel and were told they could not eat at our hotel throat keep in mind they originally paid for.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 week stay. The staff, the pools and the fact we didn't have to make reservations for the specialty restaurants were areas that stood out to us. The room walls were a little thin would be one negative. We didn't participate a lot in the evening entertainment so no comment there. Thanks to Felix at the buffet for making our meals there special, Adolpho for keeping our room nice and clean and to the gal at the omelette station for always starting my day off with a smile.
