We received an email from them as we landed at the Cancun airport to indicate our room wasn’t available, the replacement accommodations they offered looked in no way comparable. At least they quickly refunded our money but we were left to scramble to find another hotel during the cab ride from Cancun to Playacar. We’ve never had anything like this happen before!

Great location and great service - the onsite team is favoulous - the giant roaches and we found a scopion on the kitchen if my son was bitten this could have turn out to be a nightmare- close to the jungle so it may be expected just know what you getting into - if you get freaked out by roaches and scopions this is not the properly for you. we have to constantly be on our guard my wife would not leave my kids to sleep on their own.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at paseo del sol, there was some miscommunication in the beginning regarding our late check in, but after that everything went well. The hotel is in a secured community which made us feel safe, and the beach and plaza were at walking distance. After getting our bracelets, it was very easy to go in and out of the community. We really liked that the condo we had was suitable for 6 people and had its own kitchen with all the utensils needed, which saved us some money from eating out. The pool at the condo is very nice, the water is pleasing and the area was kept pretty clean. If you're thinking of visiting playa del carmen with a big family, this is a very good place to stay at 👍

Our condo was very nice and clean. We arrived late Sunday night and one of the room air conditioners did not work and Paseo had staff fix it Monday morning. We so appreciate that. We had our own car and parking in the lot was no problem at all. All of Playacar is gated and it was quite difficult a few times getting back in, until we asked for a property bracelet, that we did not know we needed. After that, it was easy to get in and out of the gates. The pool is beautiful, except it was extremely warm. If you come to the Playa Del Carmen area during summertime, just beware the seaweed is a major problem, that cannot be helped. Overall, we had a nice stay.

The condo location was great. Playacar is well protected and very safe to walk at any time. The apartment has all kitchen utensils, they also provide beach towels but that's it. All the faucets (especially showers) in the apartment are outdated. The best shower is at the terrace. The access to the public beach is about 5-7 min walk. Make sure you buy a beach umbrella as there is no natural shade on the beach. I thought we were going to have access to The Reef (as all the current residents seem to have) but we did not. The available pool is gorgeous but the water is warm most of the time. There is a person in the front desk from 10-5 pm. If your flight is earlier than the check in time, make sure you notify them ahead of time. Erika and Rebecca were amazing and responded to every question and needs we had.

Great location within a few minutes walk to the beach and fifth avenue. This is in a very safe gated community. They like the pool area to stay very quiet which can be challenging with a family. We mostly had the pool to ourselves. Overall, a lovely place!

Beautiful property. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the area. The pool was clean and not crowded, though a bit warm. It's the Yucatan so there's not much they can do about that. The condo had laundry facilities which was great but no detergent or fabric softener provided. The condo had a full kitchen w/ dishwasher. We had a bit of trouble with the master bedroom AC but they tried to fix it. The compressor needs changing. I would recommend Paseo.

I love the secure location, distance to la Quinta and quietness of this place. What I really wasn’t too happy with was the communication. I would ask a question to the receptionist on site and they would just look at each other and reply with i don’t know.I found out I had access to the laundry room the day before leaving. I asked if there was a laundromat near by and then I was told I had the key to the laundry room that I didn’t even know they had. Other than that I like the secure location, knowing my kids are safe when they would go out for a walk.

Best place in Playa Carmen to stay!!

I forgot the main gentleman that opens the gate but he was awesome. Very friendly and always willing to help when we had questions. Yvonne was wonderful. She was awesome with helping and answering all of our questions. She goes above and beyond her job to help you. My only complaint was how hard the beds were. Some may enjoy hard beds but our mattress at home is soft so we didn't sleep very well in the beds. Only complaint though and that is more of a preference. We enjoyed the location, we felt safe. The condos are beautiful. You have everything you need. Great location to other sites. Staff is super and wonderful. I will definitely be staying here again on future trips.

The property is in a beautiful setting and it’s very peaceful. Huge pool! Practically empty all the time. Our condo was well furnished and spotless. It’s a 15 minute walk to the action of 5th ave. The beach is also a short walk. Highly recommend this place!

Staff is amazing! Rooms are huge, pool is lovely, immaculate property with lots of walk to areas and a night life. Area is very secure and has security at all entrances. Yvonne is the best ans has the best personality and always provided great restaurant recommendations. Easy to grab a taxi $5-6 each way.

Great Condo For off beach location.

We usually do the All-Inclusive resorts, but decided to try a condo out this time. We were impressed with the property and Yvonne who was great at checking us in and informing us about what to do around the area. We definitely felt safe and security was always around entrance for assisting us to catch a taxi or just for some questions. The Reef Resort only allowed 4 people to go through their facility so I just walked 300 feet northeast on the street of the condo then went south on a side street, then through a short walking trail to gain access to the beach where i met up with my family. Overall it was a great experience.

Terrific Condo Near the Beach in Playa Del Carmen

We stayed in a very comfortable 3 bedroom condo with a large, spacious floor plan for our family of 5. There is a nice pool on the premises. We had beach access from across the street and downtown Playa Del Carmen was just minutes away. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Ivonne M. She gave us lots of great tips on must see and things to do along with some locals only places to eat and places to go. She was TERRIFIC!!! We loved the place and would definitely stay there again.

Quiet, safe location minutes away from everything

We were pleasantly surprised by our spacious, clean two-bedroom condo at Paseo Del Sol. The kids loved the pool and we were only 10 minutes away from the public beach. We were also provided with free daily 4-person access to the Reef Resort's beach (including umbrella and chairs), which was only 5 minutes away. Playa del Carmen was a leisurely 15 minute walk away through Playacar, our gated community. On the way, you can see beautiful villas, a few small Mayan ruins, and lots of jungle. In our rooms, we were provided with towels and water for our whole stay. The kitchen was fully equipped. The room was cleaned once during our week stay, which was sufficient.Our room also included a large rooftop terrace with a great view. This location is ideally located for day trips to Tulum, many cenotes, and Chichen Itza. The staff was very polite and helpful. The front desk closed at 6 pm on most days, but Ivonne was available by phone whenever we needed something.

Beautiful, clean and secure

We had a great 9-day stay at Paseo Del Sol. The hotel is conveniently located in the gated community of Playacar within walking distance of 5ta Avenida and many nice restaurants and various local attractions. Our condo was clean and spacious with its own laundry which worked out great for our family of 5. Our kids loved the pool! It was not very crowded, and we enjoyed the privacy. The staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I would recommend this place to anyone, and I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Playa!

We enjoyed the experience except that the condo owners booked our room for the last 4 days of our 7 day visit. We found out while on the visit. This was rather disappointing and was compounded when the replacement room was only a 2 bedroom and not the 3 we originally booked, making us squish all of our kids into 1 room (and the living room).

I wish I could give a better rating, the rooms were clean, the staff were nice, and I think the hostess was very embarrassed by having us move, but I've never been at a condo before where I had to move, and certainly not to a smaller room. I just find this unacceptable and I am really disappointed. I'd like to use the condo's again, but I am very hesitant now.

Had a great time in a 3 Bedroom condo. Had 2 extra teens so we were happy to have a larger accommodation. Just a short walk into town so we were able to try lots of restaurants. You can buy all inclusive at the reef club with the condo card and there you can experience the resort life if you want. Loved the pool for lap swimming and had access just outside our patio. Had netflix on the flat screen and great wifi.

We really enjoyed our stay here! He rented one of their penthouse suites. It was a bit far back from the front of the place but we didn't mind. There was a few small mishaps and a lot of good things.

When we arrived, there was a security gate which made us feel secure and secluded in Playacar. The security officers were very nice and despite they spoke little english, they were always open to help. When we first arrived to our there was a very strong odor of a paint smell which gave me a nose bleed. But that eventually subsided. The bedding was not washed thoroughly, one of the rooms toilets was not working and there was hair in the sink. Which to me, indicates it was not thoroughly cleaned. Because we got in very late we decided to just camp out on the couch to get a piece of mind. When we woke up we emailed Yvonne, who was so kindly to send Veronica up to our room to get things taken care of. The prompt services was greatly appreciated. She sent the housekeepers up immediately to thoroughly clean the room and freshen it up. They too were nice and pleasant and ensured that we were comfortable. They view of the room is amazing as it looked over the rooftop into the \"jungle\" and on the other end it looked onto the pool. We are looking to stay here the next few years that we visit and we probably would not stay anywhere else! Only stay here if you are looking to relax because there is a quiet curfew time.

The Condominium was very nice, very clean and the rooms had all the amenities needed and more. The staff was very friendly and they kept an eye on us when coming and going to ensure our safety. They provided us with tips on where to eat and where to go. They made us aware that there was a doctor available to come into our room if there was every a need. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean and in good condition. We asked for an extra night stay. Expedia was unable to accommodate our request but when we spoke with the hotel staff they made it happen. They kept the same rate. It was an awesome experience and I would definitely book this Condominium again specially if you have a large family or group. We were a total of 7 in one room with a 4 year old and 4 on the other condo. Each condo had 3 bedroom, included washer and dryer and full kitchen and living room, dining room. Can't say enough very satisfied.

Beautiful apts. in a very nice area, spacious with huge windows letting the natural light in. Super quiet, beautiful quiet pool. Bedrooms are super spacious. Bathrooms as well. Big closets. Washer and dryer so you can do your laundry before going home. Staff really nice and attentive. About 10 mnts. max to Xcaret and Xplor, 5 mnts. to Walmart and you can go walking to the beach and 5ta avenida. I will definitely rent here again. I could not believe we got this apt. for the price we paid.

Nice Condominium complex 5 blocks from beach.

Spent 7 days August/2016 with my wife and 3 boys in a 3 bedroom condo #305
Very roomy with multiple balconies and a roof top for grilling and hanging out. Pool is gorgeous but the water was a bit hot, Beach is about 5 blocks away and you have to walk through the jungle basically to get there. You do get \"4\" passes at a local beach hotel to use their private beach and pools, Just make sure you get there by 9 because they limit the number of outsiders getting in. Me personally i enjoyed the public beach more, the purpose of my trip is to see how it felt if i actually lived there. The room i had had a few issues but nothing major, when it rained the water came in under the front door and a puddle of water formed until you mop it. Room service you can forget about, they only came once and i asked her to come back in 10 minutes and never showed back up until the next day. They do give you plenty of towels to last the week and playa is about a 10 minute walk. If you love beaches you must go to Tulum beaches, they are amazing and about a 40 minute ride.

NICE condo with great staff, great location

Overall, we LOVED our stay! We felt safe, comfortable, and welcome during our whole stay. This is a great place for families and we highly recommend it.

We had WIFI in our room, comfortable beds, lots of towels and linens. Washing machine and dryer. The pool was fantastic and we loved swimming laps and jumping in the pool after the beach.

Ivonne, our concierge, was very helpful and helped make trip reservations and got just about anything we needed. All the staff was friendly and helped out.

We did have a couple minor problems, but nothing major. There was plenty of dishes and silverware, but not much else. We had to buy salt, spices, cooking oil, but there was a Walmart and Mega stores to stock up.

As other reviewers mentioned, you have beach access via the Reef hotel across the street, or by walking to the public beach. The beach at the reef has umbrellas and chairs, but they do NOT allow you to bring drinks or a cooler. Also, the Reef can get crowded and they may make you wait until others leave if they get too crowded. For that reason, we opted to walk to the public beach and bring our own cooler. We opted to use the public beach and were VERY happy with it. It was only a 5 minute walk.

You are a 10 - 20 minute walk from any restaurants. Taxis are about 100 pesos for 4 people one way. We didn't mind this, but others might not like the walk.

Great apartment in quiet clean complex in Playacar

We loved it at Paseo del Sol and our kids of 11 and 9 loved it too. We stayed for 11 days in June 2016. It is very close to the beach and has a long beautiful swimming pool I never had in an all inclusive hotel. We had one cleaning service and it was perfect.

The food may be a problem as the closest shop it at about 20' walking. We made a trip to Walmart and stocked on the food we needed for the stay. The round trip by taxi costs around $20. We never thought to ask for a catering company phone number but noticed motorists transporting food in the town. Hotel Reef nearby sells a day pass for 53$ per adult and half for kids which includes food and snacks from 9 to 6, dinner not included. La Taberna was a nice restaurant on street 10, good food and excellent piña coladas.

Quiet and clean condos in a green environment

The facility features rather new condos and a large swimming pool surrounded by a beautiful garden. The A/C in the condos was loud and when on always running full fan speed. Access to the beach is through the Reef hotel only. You get a card which is good for only 4. So you need to ask for a second one each time at the reception of the condos if you have 3 kids. Also you can get in only earliest at 9am after signing in each day and queueing. For seeing a sunrise walk to the city center for public beach access. No public restaurants or grocery stores nearby. Many took a taxi to get to Walmart which is 2 miles away and offers a big choice of goods.

A place to relax

This is a beautiful place to choose if anyone wants to relax. It's very quiet. Most of the condos are owned by older people and there are strict rules such as no loud noise, no music after 9pm, the pool closes at 10pm, and you can not be outside on the patio after 10pm. Me and my friends stayed 5 days. We had WiFi for the first day, after that, no WiFi. The front desk told us there was a problem in Playa del Carmen, however, when we left to eat a couple of blocks away, the restaurant had internet service.
I recommend this place to anyone who wants to relax and not party.
This place is about 5 minutes walking distance away from the beach which is awesome.

Well maintained complex that's a 5 minutes walk from a world class beach in Playacar. Our unit had 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths with a nice kitchen and a washer / dryer. We'll furnished and spacious, with a large pool and beautifully landscaped grounds. It's about a 10 minute walk to downtown Playa del Carmen. Great onsite staff. Highly recommended for families who need more room than 1 or 2 hotel rooms.

One of the rooms significantly smaller than the others. One is a master and pretty big. The second has 2 beds more suitable for the kids. We commute mostly with a car since it is at least 20 min walk to downtown. We were asked to keep quiet at all times and no music after 10pm. Overall the place was great and very big. The receptionist was very helpful. They only cleaned once during our 5 days stay.

Nice small condo complex

I really enjoyed my stay here. The condo was spacious. Although several things need updating or fixing, the basics in my unit were good. The grounds and pool were lovely and although there are five buildings, it is a small complex and was quite quiet. The pool was beautiful. a five-ten minute walk across the street through the mega resorts to the beach. This is a residential area basically so it is a 20 minute walk into Playa del Carmen. I'm a walker so that was fine with me - sometimes I took the beach route and sometimes along the street. No restaurants or food stores close by but easy to get to.

In this unit, the dishwasher was broken, the fridge flooded, the curtains did not work and the safe was broken. There had been a flood at one time and the entertainment unit is damaged and the Maintenance was quick and helpful;

Really nice condo complex in Playacar

Paseo del Sol is a really nice condo complex, located in the Playacar area about 1/2 mile (a 10 minute walk) from downtown Playa del Carmen. The condo we stayed in was absolutely great, full kitchen with all necessary pots/pans/utensils to cook meals, including a gas BBQ on the patio. The pool area and grounds were beautiful, and our 2 BR condo was an end unit and really nice overall. The complex is very laid back and not a party scene, which we really liked. Only 2 minor items we encountered were 1) The property is located across the street from the beach and there is no public access near the property, which requires you to go through the Reef hotel, but you have to check-in (and out, they give you a wristband you must return) and leave by 6PM, which can be a pain if you want to walk the beach in the evening, watch the sunset. etc. and 2) we arrived at 10AM and the hotel could not locate our reservation, so we ended up sitting around for several hours not knowing if we were going to be able to check-in (it was finally located about 3 hrs later, and we finally got in the room about 3PM). Although this was a rather annoying situation, particularly since we had traveled all evening, Claudia (the property manager) was truly wonderful and really did an excellent job overall helping us with all the confusion.

Very Good Choice for Non Inclusive Hotels

This is located at playacar . Huge House with Full Kitchen and utilities. This is best option if you are looking for non all inclusive hotels. We stayed for 6 nights with 4 adults and 1 infant. Security Guards and Front Desk are friendly and cooperative. If we request they give access to reef ( To Use pools and Facilities ) Restaurants we need to pay extra at reef. They give local mobile for free.

Great condos in Playacar close to 5a Avenida. Definitely will stay again with my family in Paseo del Sol Condominios.

Below Expectations

We've stayed at these condos before and the rooms were great. This time around was below average. The condo smelled weird like no one had been in there in a long while. The furniture was not comforting at all. The beds were hard as a rock. There were cockroaches inside. The experience could have been better and more comforting. The place is very quiet and lonely.

We loved this condominium. The unit was stocked with all the essentials. The pool was fabulous - and we loved going across the street to use the beach at the Reef. The only negative is that there is absolutely no restaurants in the very near area. We were not allowed to purchase food/drinks at the Reef because it was an all inclusive, so we ended up paying to do the all inclusive one day to have food and drinks.
