The staff were always helpful and polite. Exiting onto the street, you are graced with a beatiful view of the Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán located a few minutes away. In walking distance to everything in the center of town including Mexican and international cuisine, markets, cafés and plazas.

On the downside, there were ongoing renovations for a few days keeping things loud from late morning to early evening. The bulk of the work appears to be complete now.

hicimos reservacio en la segunda semana de julio lo cual nos cancelaron parte de nuestra instancia, segun por segun no recibieron informacion atravez de la aplicacion, le sugiero que confirmen cuando reserven. Otra cosa las instalaciones estan en construcción, y los baños publicos estan sin aseo, le agradesemos a la persona que nos ayudo en todo momento, para hacer mejor nuestro mal momento que pasamos .

The doors were closed and the front desk constantly unattended. Specially during night time. They should advise the hotel is undergoing through renovations so the noise will bother you. The parking entrance is a really steep and not practical… there are signs more than one accident has happen there…

Disappointing at best

We were very disappointed with the condition of the room. The mattress was collapsed on one side. The remote did not turn the TV on or off. The sink tapas almost seized and a real struggle to operate. I had to remove and clean the shower head of grit . The shower pressure was feeble and inadequate. There was no garbage can in the room and the air conditioner was feeble. But it was clean.

From outside the property you can see the Santo Domingo temple, one of the most beautiful constructions in Oaxaca. Everything is at walk distance, restaurants, shops, museums. Great location. Amicable staff. Few misses in the room, but nothing you can solve.

We liked the proximity to Downtown Oaxaca City. Not much the beds as the mattresses seemed a little outdated, and really hard. Same the bedding a little run down. Friendly staff, except the owner (male) that was a little grouchy and did not even welcome us and seemed bother to provide direction to park our vehicle and to check in. The rest of the staff was nice and friendly.

Arrived extremely early and was delightfully accommodated. Room was spacious, modern and very clean. Located within walking distance to all important sites. In room locally grown coffee, air-conditioning and lots of hot water. Would recommend and stay on my next visit to my favorite Mexican city.

The location of this place was great it's located near the shopping centers about 8 minute walk to El Tzocalo. Heads up , it is a little hilly, for sure you'll be getting a workout but its not so bad.
The staff are super friendly, and work with your accommodations.
The only thing that my brother and I struggled with were the beds were hard on your back. They were somewhat uncomfortable.
Other than that this place was a great stay.

On the interior, the property was stylistically understated, quite contemporary in its feel, and coordinated in certain of its decorative motifs with other buildings I've seen recently in areas with strong Latino influence. It's exterior is a disaster, and amenities within my room were limited.

They tried really hard but...

The service at this hotel was fantastic but the room shared a door with the room next to it and was very noisy and the internet was extremely slow almost unusable. Every day there would be some little problem like no toilet paper or a TV that didn't work or not enough water delivered to the room. The staff always tried to help very quickly but it was just a lot of little things and then the internet that really make it difficult to love this hotel as much as I'd like to. The location of the hotel was quite good though.

Overall, the staff was great. The location is not bad, but the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The location of the AC units makes it so that you are freezing (air blows right on you in of the beds) and if you turn it off then then you are too hot. Makes it for a very restless night of sleep. Fix the beds and fix the airflow, and I think the place will be fine.

Good location and clean comfortable room.

The Casa de las Flores is a nice enough hotel but it could be an absolute gem and an excellent choice without a lot of changes. I’m not yet fluent in Spanish but I was surprised only one person at the hotel could speak any English and that was poorly. All but one of my staff encounters was genuine friendly but it was very difficult to communicate. Also, I saw only 5 people working there over the three days I stayed there. This made it challenging to find anyone when I had a question. Parking a car requires you to tell the desk to open the gate which is on a one way street that you need to drive around the block to access. You end up parking your car in the middle of the courtyard which is odd but uber safe. The traffic noise level is very high but only during the daytime. I found by 11pm it began to quiet down and not start up again until 6 am. You won’t need an alarm. The beds were probably the firmest I’ve ever slept on - which I liked - but do not expect a soft bouncy bed. There was enough hot water but you need to operate the shower with some intuition and patience. My room safe wouldn’t open after using the same code for two days. I got help from the desk to open it with a tech but that was after long conversations over two days. There was a coffee maker and coffee in the room but no filters or mugs - just water glasses. Overall the hotel is clean, in a good location and affordable and has great potential to get to the next level.

Great location and good staff

On an uphill but very close to the cathedral. Easy-going staff. One thing that you need to be aware is the noise. You might hear TV or kids crying of the room next door. Our room (#202) is connected with a door in between. We heard noise from the both sides but we are a family with 3 kids and didn't have to worry about the noise that we made :D Check about the connecting door before booking.

We stayed one night at this hotel because it was close to a friend's house. Staff was great, very friendly and cooperative. Room was well designed and a good space, all tile and modern, good light, shower, beds good. The one drawback was the street noise. Noise of buses and cars could be heard always as room fronted on a major avenue, didn't bother my wife though. Breakfast was great.

Highly UNrecommended! Our stay at Casa de las Flores was bitter sweet, the location was great but being my 4th trip to the city this is the worst place I have stayed. The rooms were loud not only from the traffic but you can hear everything from the connecting rooms. The cleaning ladies would gather in the room beside us at 6 am and talk very loudly to eachother and on the phone so there was no sleeping in. Pair that with the really hard beds and it was a terrible 5 days. On top of all that they charged us an extra person fee for a friend who stayed for one night even though it is the same price if you book for 2 or 3 people online and when we tried to discuss the situation they were completely rude about it. your money will be better spent elsewhere

Oaxaca and its beauties

It was great! The location is great since it's close to el zocalo which is the center of Oaxaca, and it is close to one of the most beautiful churches in the world. It is far away from other sightseeing places you must go if you visit Oaxaca (hierve el agua, monte alban, tule, mintla, etc) but none of the good hotels are close to those places. This is a great hotel at a low price.

Staff very responsive and pleasant. Ask for a room downstairs. Ours was on second floor and we could hear the other guests talking into the late evening. Plus, we heard the loud traffic early mornings. The kitchen helped turned on radio very early and we could hear it. Not sure if 3rd floor would be any better; otherwise, location is great a 4-5 block walk to main center.

Our family stayed in Oaxaca for a total of 11 nights, and for 8 nights we stayed at Casa de las Flores, and we had a very pleasant experience. The hotel was ideally located for us: short scenic walk to Plaza Santo Domingo, restaurants, shopping, tours, and the Zocalo.
We enjoyed spending time on the roof terrace. The staff was helpful and provided good recommendations for sightseeing tours. They also assisted with making reservations for activities we were interested in.

A One Time Experience

The hotel was comfortable, quiet and had a rather home-like feeling. Our room was small but comfortable. The location of this hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the Zocalo. Walking back to the hotel is a good hike. Unless you're in good shape -- the last two blocks up the hill to the hotel is a 45 degree angle hike & is not for the faint of heart -- you're better off cabbing it back to the hotel. For my son and myself it was great daily exercise.

Small hotel with a personal touch. Was the only guest there pre-Sept 15 for 4 nights. Staff is eager to please and the rooms we recently restored, although there was a leak in my ceiling during the rain. I'm sure they would have changed my room if I had complained. No real English channels on the TV = no CNN, espn, etc. very conveniently located.

I honestly booked on this place because its price, location and the reviews it had but honestly this place is HORRIBLE!!! All the bedding had big stains of all shapes and colors... The guys that are usually on the desk had no idea of how to find my reservtion and they were not really nice. The AC on the room did not cool the room at all, and the weather was HOT! The location is pretty decent. Housekeeping is not the best, as the towels they provide were so hard almost like sand paper (not kidding) and smell like bleach. I have no idea why this place has so many good reviews and a good score. I am not staying here ever again.

Staff was very helpful. However, there were some plumbing issues with the room. The vanity sink and the shower both were stopped up. Included good AC. Said breakfast was included, but we paid for it. Still, was a clean and nice hotel.

Given the price, I was very happy with the hotel. Great location, just on the edge of, and about a 3 minute walk from, the centro historico (the nice part, where you want to be). Clean, comfortable and very good (although almost exclusively non-English) service. A word of caution on this last point: my Spanish is limited to about numbers and maybe 50 other words and that was probably better than all but one hotel employee's English, so if you no literally no Spanish, it might be a bit difficult.
But I definitely recommend this hotel - good price for about the equivalent of a 3 1/2 star hotel in a great location with quality service.

La Casa de las flores in Oaxaca

This hotel has lots of pluses and minuses, so a review is mixed. No one speals any English at all. I have some Spanish so we got by. The location is hilly, which was a problem for me, but probably not for others. The room was claen and relatively comfortable, but nothing at all like the photograph. Perhaps they have renovated soem rooms and not others.

There waas no breakfast included, infact no breakfast at all. And there waas no restaurant. All in all, comfortable but more basic than I expected.

This hotel was gorgeous, better than many hotels here in the US for a cheaper price. The hotel seems fairly new, the rooms are very clean and super spacious. We had all the amenities: 40in LCD TV, AC with remote, full bathroom with full bath tub, lots of storage place, very nice wood furniture (the room smelled like pine tree from the furniture, nice!). The parking was a bit tight but if you have a small car you can maneuver your way in the small space. The only thing i can see people having an issue with is the noise coming from a major street on the side of the hotel. noise begins around 7 or 8am until like 7pm but if you close the windows is not that bad. I was able to sleep every night but I did notice the noise in the morning.
The hotel is not very close to the Zocalo but it is within walking distance, about 10 minutes. The streets always felt safe.
Overall this is a very very nice hotel and i will definitely stay there again in the future.

La habitación está bien , detalles a mejorar: el estacionamiento está pequeño y es un poco complicado entrar y salir , cuando se llena igualmente se vuelve complicado .

Salo temprano del hotel (6 am ) y no hubo agua caliente para el baño matutino .

La cafetera, estaba vieja y sucia de uso, la plancha igualmente vieja y cuando le ponías agua la chorreaba .

Creo que es una gran estancia con una excelente ubicación solo hace falta un poco de atención en esos puntos .

El lugar es lindo pero definitivamente no hay buena limpieza. Reserve dos habitaciones, ambas tenían inodoro sucio, toallas sucias e incluso uno de ellos no contaba con agua. Cafetera que no funcionaba y colchones demasiado suaves, tanto que te hundes cuando te acuestas. La televisión no cuenta con buen internet, así que no esperes ver TV ya que se pausa cada 5 segundos.
Definitivamente no volvería a este lugar en especial por la falta de higiene.
