The room condition was okay overall. Both the bathroom door and the front door were difficult to close. The additional fees charged upon arrival were not clearly disclosed beforehand and didn’t seem to add up. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, there was no fridge in the room, which was inconvenient.

The smell of the sewer system was in the room ,the vast majority of the time i was there.I left the hotel 3 days before I was suppose to leave.Knowing there was no refund.No mat was outside the shower. The floor was all tile.I had to use a towel, and believe the hotel charges extra for more pillows and towels.

Room didnt look like the lictures, mattress were old and lots of stains, towels were old and had holes and stain, not enough towels, no hand towels ,no wash clothes. Breackfast, i waited 45min for acrumble eggs, i complained at front desk, they didnt care.Dind have coffe maker in the room, counters falling apart., only one bathroom one shower..this was a suit room..very disappointing.

We booked a two bedroom efficiency suite and were given a cement cell block with two beds. The AC didn’t work and the ceiling fan was broken. The door was semi broken and didn’t close properly, which made us feel unsafe. We are budget travelers, not expecting luxury, but this place was awful! We lasted about twenty minutes and left for an alternate rental we were able to secure. They refused to refund even a percentage. Terrible experience all around.

This is no Hilton. But it's an affordable and cozy place to stay. Walkable distance to 5th av and the beach. If you go to Playa Del Carmen or any of the cities in the Riviera Maya you should be more time outside exploring the beauty of the beaches, cenotes and parks than in your hotel.

Great location. Good food options. Nice enough front desk staff. Theft problem. Overbooking. We arrived in Christmas Eve to find they did have our reservation. We booked a superior suite with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen for a family of 6 paid in full with Expedia. After some debate they put us up in separate rooms because our room category was completely booked. The following Christmas morning we spent trying to resolve the issue with no real result except the option to not pay again. We were then given a larger suite with still no kitchen on the third floor (no elevator) with a promise of giving us a room with a kitchen the next day.
At this point I can only assume that the property got their money,because they stopped asking, but we were stuck with new unplanned expense, now having to spend more on meals for 6 and having to settle for a lesser room than what we originally paid for. On our last day, they offered to move us to a room with a kitchen that simply had three large double beds. Needless to say, we had moved all of our belongings 2x already and it was useless to move from the 3rd floor to the 1st again with a day left. Several people had money and other valuables stolen, including next door. We did not leave anything behind, so we were lucky, but understood why our things were always neatly rearranged but the

Close to fifth avenue they don’t have parking you have to park on the street and pay for parking on the weekend a lot of noise, in our room the water closet in the toilet didn’t work when you flush the tank would not fill up with water or it will take a long time to filled up the door had a hole an you could see into the room and the shower if you open the hot and cold water only hot water would come out so we end up using cold water the rooms were clean the receptionist was really nice she was really helpful they offer free breaks fast but it’s only toast with coffee tea or agua de Jamaica when it rains the floors are really slippery

They replaced me to a hotel in front of 5th (very very very loud until 4am) the toilet flush is not working, the shower is awful, and the breakfast was only a toast bread with butter and coffee, I stayed in a hostel call by maya monkey Cancun, but I swear I had the best experience ever I could meet so many people from everywhere, the food was amazing (breakfast as well) they have a bar for you enjoy but close early for you rest it was a lot funnn!!! And same price I highly recommend it (THE HOSTELLLL) not this one

The place is not the best but like they say you get what you pay for. This was a family trip to celebrate my birthday and my uncle’s wedding anniversary. As a gift they wanted a JBL portable speaker so I bought it for them. The night that we arrived I place the speaker in the closet of the room so I can give it to them on their anniversary day little did I know that the house keeping already had his eyes on it. So the day came and I went to get the speaker and it was gone I look everywhere but I didn’t find it. Si I decided to tell the front desk that the speaker is gone from my room they told that they were not able to do anything at the moment but they will let their manager know the following day. The next morning I went to talk to the manager and she said that they are not responsible for lost missing items in the room. When the only person who entered the room besides my family was the house keeping guy. After I spoke with the manager she admitted that she’s been having problems with this person but she doesn’t do anything about it she let him work at the hotel probably stealing other people’s belongings. After we had the conversation she promise that she was going to make it right before our trip was over but th day she was supposed to give me a solution she didn’t show up for work and left me a message with the front desk lady saying that she was sorry and that she was going to be in contact with me to get this matter resolved. if you want to feel safe stay away.

Paid for a queen got a full, no queens available in the hotel per front desk.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was nice, but the building is old, so expect cracks and dirt and some rusty faucets and repairs needed. The breakfast was good, but very slow service, so expect to be there for a while.
Only one thing more to say: there is a rooftop bar right behind the hotel, so expect noise all night every night. If you can sleep through it, the beds are comfy. If you can't, try and find a hotel a couple blocks away from the center of town.

This is the worst property I have ever stayed in. We got relocated to this property after our first property abruptly canceled and it was really bad. There were only three towels in each room for five people, there was only sheets on the bed and no blankets, there was no window glass in the bathroom window. so it was impossible to secure the room. The old lock on our door on the inside was completely broken. There is a nightclub on the building just outside our door and it played till 3 AM so we couldn’t sleep. The continental breakfast was only one option which ended up being good but there was no choice so I’m not sure how you can call it continental. The staff was the best part they were very sweet. If it wasn’t for them, I would give this property and 0. I think you should rewrite the description, because if anybody wants sleep at all before 2 AM, you should not stay here. I honestly don’t think that this property needs to be removed from the options but it should definitely not be the price it is it is not worth it and the description should at least say no blankets and the room should be secure.!!!

I requested a first floor room. They gave me a 3rd floor room lots of stairs. It took them 6 days to relocate me to a lesser quality furst floor room after several requests. The oroperty is is very aging and needs lots if care. My initial room had lights out, curtain rod fell, no blankets, no toolet psper holder, very shabby. Best part is location.

This hotel is definitely a two star hotel. You get what you pay for. The pictures on Expedia must’ve been taken when the hotel was first set up. However, there is a lot of wear and tear our room door handle was broken, barely hanging however, the deadbolt was sufficient to keep the door closed. Our room was by the stairs so You could hear the party goers coming up the stairs at 4 AM which would wake us up. We could also hear everything that was happening in the kitchen when dishes were being cleaned up or put away, this, too, would wake us up early morning, The bed linen and towels also showed wear and tear. Our beds only had sheets on them. No extra covers so we would use our towels to cover ourselves up to keep warm at night. If you book a room here, make sure to bring a light bed cover. Our booking was for a standard queen size bed instead we were put in a room with two double beds and told us that was an upgrade which, in fact we didn’t feel like it was an upgrade because it was my husband and I we didn’t need a second bed, the ceiling fan if put on anything above low would squeak all night.

All staff were very friendly and nice and welcoming so this made our stay a bit more on the pleasant side. Kitchen staff were also very pleasant and friendly. Sadly, when we tried to order bacon for our eggs, there was none available for multiple days. The location of this hotel is perfect to get to the beach in minutes and also plenty amenities all walking distance

It would be great if there was a fridge in the room or at least an ice machine on property. Also I asked for an iron twice but each time someone else was using it. You get what you pay for I guess.

The hotel is not at all as advertised but it IS CLEAN! the bed was very soft and comfortable, albeit there were no covers or blankets only sheets. The day staff were very friendly and helpful, the evening staff were more about hanging out but hey it’s Mexico so I’d probably do the same so no harm, no foul. I didn’t love my room so I checked out a day early but that was mostly because I wanted an actual window. The hotel is centrally located to 5th Ave, lots of places to shop and eat.

Nothing like how the pictures show , honestly I had to cancel my reservation cuz the place didn’t looked like I thought will be , it says has a parking space but it didn’t have , the receptionist tell me to leave my car in the parking lot of Walmart Store , something didn’t want to do cuz I didn’t want to risk the car I was renting, plus I had baby , how dear I will risk to be walking every night all the way from Walmart to the hotel !! Plus the hotel want to charge me $60 dls fee for cancellation , but Expedia helped me to cancel with out fee charge because they promise something that they don’t really have . Not a good place to staying honestly .

Good location, low price, close to everything! Basic hotel. Noise from club very near can go on til 5AM. Towels and sheets seem to be scarce. Breakfast included should be changed to free coffee for an hour. Restaurants are everywhere though around here. Not ideal if you cannot climb stairs. Close enough to the airport bus to walk, and also the ADO Alterna bus station. Close to beach, about three short blocks. Internet slow. A/C and fan both in my room. Window has a pull down sun block.

WORST HOTEL: AVOID!

Negatives:

1. I arrived at the hotel at 2 PM which is the time they told me to check in only to find that our rooms were not ready yet, and we had to wait until 4:30 PM to get our rooms.

2. The room smells of a damp/moldy smell that mimics the stench of urine.

3. First night I came back to the room to find that the housekeeper left my door open after cleaning. When I reported this to the lady at the front desk she said \"Hahaha ok\" And when I told the \"manager\" he said he will write down a note. So I put the 'do not disturb' sign on the door from then on out, yet my towels were still changed everyday.

4. Water pressure is really bad and my friends room didn't have hot water, though we paid the same rate.

5. I ended up spending most of the nights at my friends place and had all my stuff with me. So when I went back on checkout day to check out, I found that they had not only already checked me out, but checked in the people that were checking into my room after me.

5. I have shed 650 tears over the $650 I wasted on this \"hotel\"

We booked two rooms for the xmas holidays with my wife and my daughters arriving on christmas eve dec 24th and leaving on december 28th 2013.this hotel was extremely bad. the neighborhood is dirty and scary with views on a parking with garbage can and slums.. the person at the reception spoke very bad english. it took him 20 mn to find our reception. the hotel was smelling cleaning chemical. the two rooms were very dirty: bed sheet were full of spots yellow and red… the chairs in the rooms were full of rust.. the bathroom was not clean at all. the shelves in the rooms were dirty and you do not want to put your clothes on it. the website of the hotel indicates that each hotel rooms have safe which is wrong.the stairs are so small to come to your room that you can hardly bring your carryon luggage in the room. I an a very intensive traveller and i have never seen such a poor hotel in a very scary neighborhood. the street is the street were all the tattoo shops of playa del carmen are.

I had confirmed our reservations by phone 3 weeks before we arrived however they acted as if we did not have a reservation. The only thing that saved us was I had printed out a copy of the reservation. There is no elevator so if you have knee problems, etc you will have a problem. We were put on the 3rd floor.
There was sand on the floor. The only good thing was if you want to cook in your room there was a fridge and stove.
The hotel is way over priced for what you get.
Look elsewhere for a stay.

I have stayed in Playa Del Carmen a few times before and so I was familiar with the area enough that when I booked my vacation package, I wasn't too concerned about the hotel accommodations. I wanted to be close to the beach and 5th avenue where the bars, restaurants, and shops were.
Since I am a solo male traveler and don't spend much time in my room, I am not very picky about accommodations, however, the design of this hotel was not very well thought out. It is kind of dark in the courtyard area. There was construction going on and it didn't seem to have any atmosphere to it. I would equate it to the \"Motel 6\" of Mexico. When I entered my room, I was disappointed because it was cold and \"hospital\" like. The only windows in the room were a set of french doors that opened to the pool area in the courtyard,...which was right near the hallway that was the entrance to the hotel, so unless I wanted everybody to see me sleeping and getting out of the shower, I had to have the shades pulled the entire time, so I got no natural light in the room. Also, the AC unit was positioned such, that the air blew right onto your head at night in bed.....which wasn't so bad except that it started to spit out droplets of water one night, making it a royal pain trying to put up towels to prevent the water from spitting on me all night long.
I would probably not stay at this hotel again. I do want to reiterate that the staff was very friendly and the hotel in no way reflects the wonderful staff.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. The guest service was terrible. The front desk was rude, the room smelled like damp/mold, they only gave us 2 towels, so no hand towels, there was a kitchenette but nothing to wash the dishes with, we had to turn on the fridge & the burners didn't work. One morning we didn't have any water in the shower, not to mention you had to let the water fun for at least 10 minutes for it to warm up. The key card for the door stopped working at least one a day and we had to get it re-set. We had to constantly ask for toilet paper as room service never gave us more. We booked for a week and it was terrible the whole time. Good thing I wasn't in Playa for the hotel, but for the beaches.

Room are disgusting. Very dirty it’s the worse place to go I’m not fancy but I need a clean place to stay the bathroom was so dirty I touch the walls of the shower and everything was sticky and the floor was full of hair. We had room 37 and I ask right away to get another room they gave us room 4 and was as dirty as the first one. On we slept on top of the sheets and left the next morning and find another place to stay. They didn’t want to give us our money back I do not recommend this place even for a minute and i will put bad reviews on all websites they used. Pictures are not at all of what they have

Solo era un sándwich el desayuno deberían ponerlo en su descripción ya que dice desayuno eso no se considera desayuno y la cama muy mal de un lado te hundías terrible no descansé

El cuarto todo sucio y apestoso a cigarro el baño a prestaba a drenaje las sábanas y las toallas no las cambian cada tercer día y no huelen ni cloro ni limpio el aire acondicionado no enfría

A notre arrivée dans le studio, les fenêtres ne fermaient pas donc ils nous ont changé de studio. Quasiment aucun équipement dans la cuisine. L'hébergement n'était pas propre.
Le personnel n'est pas désagréable (mais plusieurs étaient nouveaux donc ont du mal à repondre à nos demandes) et ne parlent pas tous anglais.

falta atención al hotel

le falta mucho mantenimiento al hotel , las habitaciones deberían de tener mínimo un frigobar todo lo que comprábamos se echaba a perder por el calor, la alberca tiene zonas que cortan la piel mi hija se cortó la rodilla

Nos dieron una habitación que no reservamos de menor categoría y la primera noche no nos ofrecieron otra opción. La gerente nos dio al día siguiente la que correspondía. El baño no fue limpiado correctamente. Al hotel le falta mucho mantenimiento y mejor servicio pues todos los recepcionistas son muy groseros y se ausentan de su área de trabajo. Ni siquiera el saludo responden.
